  1. There were things which Yasuke wasn’t too sure of. He was not sure where the monster came from, but knew that he needed to act against it. He was not sure why he felt some form of connection with at least two of the ninjas standing near him, but felt a tingle in the back of his head when the other male started to use some type of insect jutsu. In fact, he felt like screaming because of it due to the number which were on the field. The same went to what seemed to be the insect user’s blonde friend. He looked at the remaining kunoichi as she simply prepared for the worst…

     

    And then the monster roared.

     

    A mist descended around them, making Yasuke’s vision miniscule, well, only to the part which he no longer can see the physique of the monstrosity. The air tasted as foul as it smelled. Yasuke was not sure what was coming after that, so he simply sought to prepare himself

     

    He formed the hand seals and as he finished with the appropriate amount of chakra, he felt his skin starting to harden and become stronger due to its reinforcement. If the creature hits, he wanted to be as strong as steel, or at least the approximation what steel would be. His brown skin started to dull as it hardened while the complexion became pale. Stretching while taking the kink out of his neck, he looked at the last position to where the creature was currently and stated ‘Well… those roasted frog legs don’t roast themselves’

  7. So far the battle was going well, or their approximation of what a battle in their favor should appear. Their attacks were hitting and now the monster was on its back. Unfortunately, there were more casualties in the battle as he crashed on a position which villagers were hiding behind. This was becoming a problem, but not for them, for the villagers. If they continued to stay in the area, then they were now part of the fixtures as the trees, the vendor positions, and any other obstacle which was on the field. At least one good thing came out of it, the red haired kunoichi with the oppressively large sword connected and it coughed up objects which neither Akihiro or the clone could visualize fast enough before the kunoichi picked up her booty.

     

    Soon, Akihiro and his clone took flanking positions. Each of them had their role to play in the battle, and his was neither that of a skilled martial artist or weapons master… so he simply stayed on the flanks of the battle and launched another attack

     

    ‘We are placing you on a meal plan!’ he howled as he formed the same set of seals and aimed his hand at their nemesis and fired a turret of purplish energy towards the monstrous poet. ‘Take this with all the fixings!’

    The opening salvo for Jaegu went well. he could feel the hit against the monster as well as the Essence starting to feel his body. His eyes started to glow as he started to feel it work through his body, reflecting in the red lenses of his mask. Other attacks were landing, but the creature felt like hitting the side of a mountain, and from his other senses, the creature had energy to spare. Jaegu coughed, the poison rain still falling, well, momentarily.

     

    Jaegu reached and unsheathed his sword on his back, an ornate medium sized cleaver. Once he done this though, everything started to change. The poison rain cleared, but then the winds picked up and sand was everywhere. Sand in his boots, sand in his top, the wells of his mask and ventilation areas also filled with sand. At the same time, the beast expelled a large force of air.

     

    He cursed under his breath as the air slammed into both Jaegu and his clone. He was happy that he conjured a steel one, it was sturdy enough to take the damage, but for how long? Rushing forward, Jaegu took a few slashes in the limited visibility now as the wind picked up.

  12. Jaegu stalked the creature so that he might get a bead on attack on it as he started to check off the hazards which he could see. The creature had a jagged maw in its midsection, its shoulders were littered with spikes along with its appendages. Although there was a head on top, there was no evidence that its where the mind or even sight is gained from. The one thing Jaegu did know about the creature, was that it had a wealth of Essence in its vessel; and he wanted all of it. Jaegu could already feel the primal urge to feed start to burn in his chest, he could feel his heart beat faster as adrenaline started to pump.

     

    He wanted a taste

     

    He wanted to consume

     

    He wanted to devour

     

    The only question was… how? A full assault? Quarter the limbs and take it? Can he remove its limbs? How tough is its hide? Can he take his shell as a prize?

     

    It wasn’t until the sound of his heart stopped drowning out the sounds around him then that he heard his friend Akio spoken, which brought him back to his senses. Instead of the concerns of what he could see, he regulated it to his mind’s eye to keep track of the vessels around him. Some of his comrades also produced a clone of their own, the varying degrees of essence filled in for their locations in the map of the landscape committed to his mind.

     

    ‘We are Kiri…’ Jaegu stated as a matter of fact way, waiting for the clone to finish its hand seal sequence so that they could possibly freeze the beast in the spot that its in. ‘We always get our pay! To Glory! Feast!’

     

    Jaegu took off at a sprint, keeping low to the ground as he charged a path directly towards the creature’s leg. He wanted to test its mettle and siphon some of its energy away. The beast was big, so he would simply take a bit here… a bit there… over and over again until its was nothing left but a empty vessel. Once he got in proximity, Jaegu formed his hand into a claw and took a swipe at its thigh, speeding through until he reached the other side by the back of the creature… it wasn’t as pretty as the front.

  13. ‘Well, this just got interesting…’ Akihiro mentioned as he looked at their foe. He had not noticed the growth in size, but all of a sudden it was… huge. He shared a look with his clone before looking towards their target, and that was all it took. The large purple people eater released a wave of flame of a golden brown color. The clone was the first to react; leaping directly over it and allowing it to pass through. The Master, not so much. Akihiro leapt into the air a fraction of a moment later, and knowing that he was going to get hit.

     

    Years of abuse by the hands of the Hoshigaki prepared him for bracing for a blow, by instinct he drew his legs up and crossed his arms to cover his face into a fetal position, taking the damage on his shins and forearms. The attack slammed against him in midair, propelling him backwards a few meters. Akihiro opened up as he landed in a slide backwards in a three point position with his left hand on the ground aiding in stopping the slide.

     

    When he rose from the position; Akihiro surveyed the area once more. The clones of the kunoichi were gone, the grey eyed ninja along with the Akihiro’s clone both were unscathed from the attack. He moved forward back into position and regained the space which he lost in the hit. The fire attack singed his limbs for minimal damage because of the block, but the grass and trees smoldered slightly to add to the mist surrounding him. Akihiro wiped his mouth and straightened his tee over his bluish skin and spat to the side. None of that made it more difficult to see the monster in front of him with its glowing maw and eyes.

     

    ‘Go!’ the clone growled as he started on the attack strategy which they used often as the opening gambit. Forming the hand seals in the effort of trapping the beast in its place.

     

     

    Akihiro nodded and formed a different set of hand seals of his own. He started to generate an aura of chakra around his right fist while infusing it with the element of his birthright: Rust. The form which it took appeared that of the crystal as it ebbed and flowed around his arm, but the softened and flowed again as fumes, materialized and then deconstructing rapidly within the confinement of the aura.

     

    ‘Seisan!’ he growled as he aimed it at the much larger target and fired a turret of purplish energy towards the monstrous poet. ‘Let’s burn together!’

  14. Akihiro looked around, and saw that now there were three ninjas facing off against the haunting menace in front of them, and it was not happy that they were mouthing off. It then produced another rhyme, and it was not as if it wasn’t good or eerie, but so far he dealt with a life of pain and torture before even dawning his vest as a Chuunin of Kiri.

     

    He also was a creature of an odd flame, leaves fire with its odd steps, and a rather decent appetite as it ate a scared human and a food cart. Akihiro wondered if that was the funnel cake cart, but then started to concentrate at the scene at hand.

     

    The rhyming scheme made him chuckle a bit, even in the sight of the horror which was the large head with baby arms and legs, it had to be a dangerous creature, even if it couldn’t wipe its own ass or cross its arms. Instead, Akihiro formed hand seals rapidly as from behind him a figure stepped out of hiding and stood right next to him. It was a perfect copy of himself, and it looked at the creature as curiously as the master had done.

     

    The master and clone of Akihiro turned their heads left and right, looking at the members of their group with a face of confusion and said ‘Maybe we rhyme to it?’

     

    Then one of the figures said ‘I don’t want it to seem like we are trying to sass… but you were the one which said you wanted to eat ass… You already ate a human and then a cart, so I am scared to see how does thou fart!’

  15. The area was surveyed as he took account of the number of ninjas on the field with him and noticed that his friend Akio was there. Jaegu gave a quick smile and nod as he looked towards the creature in front of him. He was not unnerved, but wary of the maw which it held in its stomach and spikes on his back. The rain was falling and for some reason he was starting to get a slight cough and knew that this couldn’t last for the entire battle or else they will all be in trouble. Of all the things he learned while he was in Kiri, and he didn’t take the time to learn anything to clear up the weather.

     

    He wanted to chuckle when the kunoichi to his right said that she might let one of them buy her a drink, and only felt the dragonesque eyes of his mate on him if he would state anything other than a stern no. He wondered if the ninja whom was irritated by the spike backed fiend for ruining his drinking time would take her up on it. There was another ninja in the vicinity with looked like two blades that was about his money like Jaegu, and then there was Akio, which would be the first time that he will witness what he could do even though he sensed the vitality of essence which his vessel contained.

     

    Jaegu formed the hand seals as the image of him shifted out of himself and made a clone. Taking a step to the side, they looked at the beast as he spoke to Akio ‘I don’t like the sense of this creature… lets end this quickly!’

    1.   16. Under his dreads, Yasuke felt the hairs on the back of his neck start to tingle while those on his arms started to raise. Goosebumps on toughened flesh formed on his forearms, and all because of a sound which was not pleasant to hear at all. People started to flee in all directions, except for a few others like him.   17. Kokuren Akihiro reached an open plain as the mist started to roll in, making visibility not the best of all situations, but being from Kiri this made it a usual Monday. Pausing after every third step and listening, he imagined that he was stalking a Hoshigaki or some other animal for a meal… instead he heard the oddest eerie voice that held a sing song cadence and pitch.

     

    ‘Hey, that’s my line!’ he thought as he continued to move forward until he reached a momentary opening and seen that he was not indeed alone.

     

    There was a ravishing redhead with a large sword that was giving a rather good taunt. A quick survey of her physique, and that of the creature which unfortunately was not a Hoshigaki ‘I guess no shark fin soup tonight’

     

    Looking at the creature, he smiled while his head leaned to the left as if looking at some type of performance art, framing his hands in front of him so that he could place it in a box ‘You know… those small arms and legs takes away from that big head of yours…’

    The air tasted and smelled horrible

     

    That was the first thing which came to mind as his feet sloshed about as he tried to get footing. Asenaru Jaegu did not know where he was at, the rain was wrong, different than in his home in Kirigakure. His senses picked up others, but there was also a vessel which he did not recognize as human, or any other creature he came across before.

     

    But the pay was right for the job.

     

    He was being paid to work on a team against the thing which he did not recognize as… well… anything.
