This special recap edition will cover the changes in the world as we knew it over these tumultuous past two years. Two Years That Changed Our World by Ishijima Setsuna As we all know, two years ago the ninja of the Hidden Village of Cloud carried out an attack on every hidden village across the continent. The defending shinobi were routed from each village, leaving only civilians and civilian facilities. However, after the attacks, the Cloud remained to rebuild what damage was done to civilian structures. They removed debris and took down partially destroyed structures around each of the villages. As the Cloud withdrew their main force, they left only a token group and a message in their wake: "Live as you like, but without ninja.” It seemed a dire proposition, but the Cloud has been quite magnanimous, assisting every village in the recovery and giving all of them the aid and funding necessary to build a stable economy. In fact, the only real change to the economies of the hidden villages is the fact that they no longer have the income generated by ninja. The Cloud have taken to buying all ninja supplies created, and supplying them is quite a tall order! As the last remaining village of active ninja, the Cloud have monopolized the espionage market. That means supplies for the single largest military body in the known world! In some aspects, the Cloud have done the ninja nations a great favor. A stable economy, elimination of a hazardous employment, and other benefits have abounded since the removal of the other major ninja villages. The Cloud remaining in each village have also taken to providing a police-like role, dealing especially in seemingly superhuman crime that is likely the work of those with ninja training. It's been a rough two years, but our future is bright. The Cloud have come, and despite a rough start they've proven to be ample allies to the people. There is still distrust out there folks, but we can only step forward if we work together. This is Ishijima Setsuna, signing off!
