-Hair: Messy black hair cut to shoulder length with one spiky black bang hanging in his face. His headband is tied around his head.

-Eyes: small with sharp edges and a dark brown color

-Clothing: Gray short-sleeved shirt with dark blue jeans and black combat boots. He has black wristbands on each arm. Rei wear his cousin's green necklace.

-Physical Description: Dark complection, not very muscular, drooping shoulders, small burn scar on right hand, small nose and large feet (not freakish large though)

~History~

Background:

Hissori Rei was born to a couple of shopkeeper in the Hidden Cloud Village on the 27th of July. His family, which at the time consisted of him, his mother, and his father, was rather well off. Rei wanted for very little as a small boy. He would occupy his time by drawing whatever he could on tiny napkins.

Rei wasn't exactly what you'd call a social butterfly. He was very quiet and tended to stay to himself. Because of this, the boy's few attempts to gain friends were met with rejection. The other kids would make fun of him and, on a few occasions, some would beat him up. However, there was on person Rei could call friend: his cousin, Judai.

Judai and Rei were almost inseparable. They played together, read manga together, got in trouble together. Also, Rei would constantly listen to his cousin talk about his dreams to be a ninja. Judai always had an interest in shinobi and wanted nothing more than to become one. There were even a few occasions where he would talk about being Raikage. Rei, on the other hand, only had a passing interest in the way of the ninja.

Finally, when the boys were ten, Judai began classes at the Ninja Academy. Rei began to see much less of his best friend, and thus, decided to enter the Academy as well. Unfortunately, Rei's father, Ensho, would not hear of it. As far as dear old dad was concerned, his son's place was to take over the shop. "No son of mine is gonna risk his life as some shinobi thug", Ensho said. Rei's mother, Shiori, pleaded in her son's defense, but it was all in vain.

So Rei kept himself busy doing jobs around the shop, drawing, and caring for his baby sister, Urame. Every now and then, Rei and Judai saw each other, and they hung out, but the two usually never saw each other. Judai always said, "I gotta train. Sorry cousin." Eventually, Rei began to feel as though his cousin abandoned him. "He cares more his ninja training than me", Rei told his mother one night. Rei soon became angry and spiteful toward his cousin.

So angry, in fact, that he didn't noticed the change that was occuring in Judai. The boy's health was failing him. His skin had grown paler and he wasn't eating regularly. Then, at age 13, Judai was hospitialized, and two years later, he died.

It was then that Rei learned that Judai had been born with a terminal disease. In fact, it was a wonder he'd lived to see 15. Rei was overcome with grief. "He was dying, but I was so busy feeling sorry for myself to see it. Judai never did that. He fought on despite his misfortune. And I never even got to say goodbye."

Then, Rei was informed by one of Judai's classmates that his cousin never completed the Academy. He had to be put out because of his illness. This information filled Rei with a sense of purpose. If Judai couldn't live his dream, his cousin would do it for him. Yet, there was still the issue of Ensho to deal with. When Rei approached his father this time, Ensho could see the passion in his son's eyes.

It was that that Rei learned why his father initially refused. It turns out that Rei's grandfather was a shinobi who killed in action while Ensho and Judai's father were quite. "Because of that ninja, your uncle, grandmother and myself had to struggle our entire lives. I made a vow that I would never allow one of my children to become the thing that took my father from me."

"But I won't become that father. I'm better than that. I want to live Judai's dream for him...and for myself. I'm sick of being a useless coward. I'll become a noble shinobi, and I'll use my abilites to help people. Please father. You have to let me do this."

Ensho considered this before telling his son, "Very well. While I still don't support this decision, I believe that you're at an age where you can at least choose your career. Just know, that if you do this, you'll have to grow up. The life of a shinobi is a hard and dangerous one. You can't be soft anymore."

Rei accepted this, and began on the hard road of becoming a shinobi. He studied and trained hard, becoming one of the class' best students. Though he became a bit more social, he still had no friends. Unless you include Urame, who often called Rei "kesshi"(hero). Rei also took to wearing his cousin's green necklace, as a constant reminder of why he chose this path.

"I'll do it Judai. It's the least I can do for you, my friend."

~Persona~

Personality: Since joining the Academy, Rei has become more social, but only around certain people and only in certain environments. He is rather quiet in large groups, but he is more outspoken around two or three people. Rei loves to tell lame jokes and try to make people laugh. He is very considerate of other people feelings and tries his best to console people when they're down. Rei has a hard time communicating with others, especially girls. He is always so worried about what they might say/think. He can also be very pessimistic when situations get rough. Rei is also a bit of a procrastinator, always putting things off until the last minute. He hates ignorance and prejudice. Despite being so quiet, Rei actually enjoys the company of louder people. Especially when they're funny. Being around other silent people freaks him out.

Rei's code of honor is to always stand up for those who can't defend themselves and to stand by what you say. In other words, don't break promises. But above all else, never kill anyone else.

Likes: Rei enjoys drawing pictures of whatever he can find. Rei loves to be around funny people and he likes learning to cook.

Dislikes: Despite his chosen profession, Rei actually hates killing and excessive violence. He also hates people who pick on others and stupid people. Rei can't stand cleaning.

Description: Creates illusionary replicas of the user. They are unable to attack or interact with other objects, but can serve as good distractions.

Effects: Adds +5 evasion and +5 accuracy for each clone. Once a clone is hit it is destroyed, and the bonuses with it.

Name: Henge no Jutsu (Transformation Technique)

Type: Genjutsu

Rank: Academy Student

Cost: 5 Genjutsu

Description: Wrap chakra around your body to change your appearance. You can still use the features of the thing you can become, e.g use the claws of a clawed animal, but not to the extent of if you actually were that thing.

Damage: None

Effects: Change your appearance.

Name: Kawarimi no Jutsu (Body Substitute Technique)

Type: Ninjutsu

Rank: Academy Student

Cost: 10 Ninjutsu

Description: A lifesaver, and a must-have technique. With this technique, the user is able to swap their body with a nearby object, usually a log, which will take the full force of any incoming blows for them, while they retreat to safe ground or search for an opening. You can only use this 3 times per battle.

Damage: None

Effects:Evade the next attack aimed at you. You are unable to attack the opponent the turn you use this. You can only use this 3 times per battle. This technique cannot be used to dodge Ninjutsu, Taijutsu or Genjutsu Techniques.

Description: A swift pass followed by a blow to the back of the head which leaves the opponent dazed from the impact and unable to concentrate temporarily.

Effect: -80 accuracy

Description: The user becomes the person most desired (or cared for if they desire no one) by the target in their eyes. This makes it hard to strike them for obvious reasons.

No offense, but I got partially bored while reading the background so I ended up just skimming through it. However, it was within acceptable terms and there is nothing wrong with any of the numbers.
