  1. Edited. Usually chakra costs are high, so I aimed a notch up.

    Hello All

Welcome to the game. Iwa and Suna have the most openings if memory serves. Nice symbol, very close to mine by the way (mine being >^..^<)
  3. Before I begin, I'm thinking that maybe this jutsu is borderline bloodline material, but I thought I'd at least try. Name: Bullseye Type: Genjutsu Rank: Gennin Cost: 1/2 Opponent's evasion (minimum 10) Damage: N/A Description: The ninja in question sees a swirling chakra dot, similar to the dots one sees when a camera's flash goes off. These dots are fleeting, but are essentially a split second lead to the opponent's next movement. If the ninja in question has an eye-/vision-based bloodline, decrease the chakra cost by 10 (to a minimum of 10), but not the Genjutsu requisite. Effect: The next attack that is not a jutsu (or modified by a jutsu other than bloodline) will hit, but it is the only attack that the user of this jutsu may perform on that turn. That is, their limit for punching/kicking/shuriken throwing limit is one the turn after using this jutsu. So how does that look?
  4. Although I'm inclined to agree Shikyo, I gotta say that Orochimaru looks better than Michael Jackson. He doesn't reform his body, he just takes another one.
  5. I got the clan from the Approved section. And to be honest, to be a Genjutsu major, you need to make up techs because there aren't many at all.
  6. Sumo's all fine and good, but what place does it have in ninja technique? As I said just about anything else they could have used that 'skill' (for lack of a better word) and I wouldn't give it a second glance. Ninja are about stealth, speed, and assassination of samurai from everything I've read about them (books, not manga and subtitles mind you). Sumo does nothing for them in that instance. (And of those three references, I only notice the Rock Lee derivitive on my own). As for everyone b####ing and moaning about sasuke's past and being a loner, here's my theory: He only does the independant, "I don't need you thing" because his brother told him that he had to kill his best friend. Now, from what I've seen of the show (admittedly missing most of 100+) Naruto and Sasuke have no real "come together" moments, yet Naruto is Sasuke's best friend when he turns on him. And even if it is his brother, Sasuke just wants to take the psycho down by any means necessary. If he starts dating or getting chummy, those are just targets to be killed as well. That's my story and I'm leaning towards it.
  7. I don't really dislike any characters, but to make up for it, there is one bloodline I have a bone to pick with. Chouji's. I mean, c'mon! Who sat down and said "You know what a ninja needs to be able to do? Grow in size and mass!" If this were any other show I wouldn't care, but a Ninja with growth abilities... Shrinking (and getting back), okay maybe.
  8. I added a paragraph to background, and a sentence to personality.
  9. ~User Data~ -Username: PhantasyIV -Posting: As needed -Time Zone: EST ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Name: Tsuchiiro-hi Village: Suna Clan: Tsuchiiro-hi Kata Age: 17 ~Appearance~ -Height: 5'10" -Weight: 137lbs -Hair Color: Dirty blonde, spiked, hangs down to his eyes, but does not cover them. -Eye Color: Corneas are very pale blue. Many mistake him for blind. -Clothing: White shirt with clan emblem on the back, tan pants, fingerless gloves (NOT the Chuunin/Jounin plated gloves), and kung fu shoes. -Physical Description: Pale to fair complexion, looks healthy with a mild amount of muscle. Story/Background: Make the most of your jutsu in combat. That is the only teaching Kata has taken to heart, or at least the ash covered organ that was once a heart. So many childish ninja anymore... Do they have not discipline? I shall show them what true discipline is. I shall disolve their false reality if they argue. Not a child of evil nor good. His only intent is for his clan. Its well-being. Its preservation. And if necessary, its superiority. The desert is a place where mirages are born. Since birth he has had talent for, and been taught the way of mirages. Illusion. Illusions, that like the desert, are cruel and unyielding. His blood burns with the heat of the desert, brought on by the ashes that surround him when he enters combat. Reality is truly what one makes of it. But I do not wish to make others believe my reality. My reality is far from perfect - far from infallible. But the same can be said of theirs. As the wind kicks up more sand, covering his back as he looks around the stadium. His vision recalls the earliest battle he had witnessed. Mother... Father... His parents were on different teams in the Jounin trials. Although nothing else from that time is clear in his memory. In one instance they were pit against each other. Putting their personal "feelings" aside they went into combat. Knowing each other fearfully well. With open and unblinking eyes he watched his parents go blow for blow against each other. His caretaker for this event making sure he doesn't turn his head - He hasn't. He doesn't know why he doesn't care, just that he needs to be like them and know the enemy in and out. Find and defeat their weaknesses. Until finally, his mother shoves a kunai into his father's chest. His father reels back in pain, and as he falls, unleashes a handful of shuriken. His last breath takes hers and they both lie in the sand, making it cake together with their draining blood... The memory keeps him coming back here. He is eager to train to become better than they are, to become the best and allow no quarter to his enemy. His parents are his role models... He felt nothing from their deaths. When his caretaker tried to remind him of his age, he would revolt. The caretaker's fatal mistake was to one day say "If you don't need me, prove it." Your challenge was one I could not ignore. It was supposed to be a challenge of finding resources. Kata slew him, figuring that surely he did not need a caretaker weaker than he was. He was only a boy and "boys will be boys". He was put into almost solitary confinement, being tought only by one Chunnin that would constantly put him in his place as he tried to leave. He truly learned what patience meant, and began to associate their resistance with testing him. Kata would try any- and everything he could to escape until eventually began to understan how not to let his ambition get the better of him. The closest thing he has to a hot temper is being held back by interruption. They don't understand what training is. They do not appreciate their growth. Weakness around him is no trouble so long as there is effort and discipline, for discipline is the one thing he was taught extremely well. He has, however, developed an arrogance from his edition of training. He had an active imagination while in solitude, harming his ability to decipher reality. Even to someone so indifferent to external loci, his own thoughts were sweet. He imagined battle after battle, trial after to trial, until he won nine championships. One for every year he was in confinement. He even started creating figments of his opponents with a combination of Henge no Jutsu and Bunshin no Jutsu to imagine his opponents. Gennin put on guard for him found intruders running rampant from his tactics, and that is why the higher level Chunnin were brought to be his guards. They gave him basic knowledge. Made him study. No matter how strong his techniques became (and to them they were not that strong by comparrison) they knew his tricks were his weakness. Having that kind of control, he could be released with such a low skill level. The exact day he left confinement, the Chunnin that watched over and taught him gave him his village amulet. Tying it to his forehead and tucking it under the tuft of hair that looms there he goes in search of a team. This band means I am now ready to fight for independence and strength. If I must work with others, I will. Kata sets off to the stadium, eager to learn new "tricks" of the trade. If there's anywhere he'd learn it, it's where people fight with everything... Personality: Indifferent. Prefers to train dilligently when possible, gets annoyed when intterrupted from these tasks. Prefers not to show emotion, but will "act" as he feels necessary for the situation. Not everything works better with cold calculated precision, but what can be won that way will be won tht way. Due to his prolonged time in cofinement, and his recent release, he is now edgy around small spaces in light of the comparitive freedom of the outdoors. Likes: Mastering Jutsu, acknowledgement/advancement, resistance (see background). Dislikes: Lack of self discipline in others, interruptions from training, small spaces. ~Favorite~ -Food: Chicken -Color: Sand (tan) -Music Genre: Traditional -Book Genre: Jutsu Scrolls -Hangout: Suna stadium - Ninja Stats Level: 25 TXP: 4,808 GXP: 320 -Stats(out of 3000)- (Health Power) 260 (Stamina) 140 (Chakra) 320 -> 480 [specialized] (Taijutsu)140 (Defense) 140 (Ninjutsu) 100 (Resistance) 200 (Genjutsu) 480 -> 720[specialized] (Concentration) 340 (Speed) 440 (Accuracy) 240 (Evasion) 200 Skills: Hinderences- Slow to Adapt: A negative for being in terrain not of your current village. Brahma, The Creator: If you have this skill any genjutsus you use have 25% additonal effect and last 50% longer, but you may not use jutsus of any element other than your villages. Genjutsu Shaper: For every rank in this skill your genjutsu will last a post longer. Gifted [Genjutsu, Chakra] Specialist [Genjutsu, Chakra] Knowing the Elements: By knowing the the elements of Ninjutsu perfectly you have discovered the flaws in many of them and are able to cut through your enemies simple-minded techniques like so much paper. Your rank in this skill determines how many times you can choose to ignore the damage from an enemy Ninjutsu. Effects of the jutsu outside damage still strike you (Web Jutsu will still bind you, etc). Quick Learner x5 Focused Fighting Stance (+10% Genjutsu effect, -15% dodge) Tsuchiiro-hi Clan Bloodlines: ~Haiirosaito (Ashen Sight) ~Uzuchime (Blood Swirl Eyes) ~Kumouzume (Cloud Swirl Eyes) <0 unused skill point(s)> Rank 2: The Kumouzume forms in the true eyes, and the Uzuchime opens a little more, granting longer sight and more effective manipulation of the effects thereof. It is unable to attack or interact with other objects, but can serve as a good distraction. Damage: None Effects: Adds +5 evasion and +5 accuracy for each clone. Once a clone is hit it is destroyed, and the bonuses with it. Name: Henge no Jutsu (Transformation Technique) Type: Genjutsu Rank: Academy Student Cost: 5 Genjutsu Description: Wrap chakra around your body to change your appearance. You can still use the features of the thing you can become, e.g use the claws of a clawed animal, but not to the extent of if you were that thing. Damage: None Effects: Change your appearance. Name: Kawarimi no Jutsu (Body Substitute Technique) Type: Ninjutsu Rank: Academy Student Cost: 10 Ninjutsu Description: A lifesaver, and a must-have technique. With this technique, the user is able to swap their body with a nearby object, usually a log, which will take the full force of any incoming blows for them, while they retreat to safe ground or search for an opening. You can only use this 3 times per battle. Damage: None Effects: Evade the next attack aimed at you. You are unable to attack the opponent the turn you use this. You can only use this 3 times per battle. This technique cannot be used to dodge Ninjutsu, Taijutsu or Genjutsu Techniques. Other Jutsus: Bakemono Assaku (Phantom Pressure) Type: Genjutsu Rank: Gennin Cost: 30 Genjutsu Damage: 50 (ghost) damage Effect: Character will perform various seals before manipulating Chakra to allow for slight control of the target's Chakra. The enemy will begin to feel as though a shocking pressure is building in his/her skull, and because of the general effects of such belief, real pain is created. However, when the pain rises to such a level that one may pass out, the brain's natural defences quickly re-calculate the situation and cancels it NOTE-Damage dealt is "ghost" damage. If the damage would cause the target to die they are completely stunned for one post instead Name: Bullseye Type: Genjutsu Rank: Gennin Cost: 1/2 Opponent's evasion (minimum 10) Damage: N/A Description: The ninja in question sees a swirling chakra dot, similar to the dots one sees when a camera's flash goes off. Name: Decoy attack Type: Genjutsu Rank: Gennin Cost: 40 Damage: N/A Effects: Enemy distracted for 1 turn Description: The ninja projects a bunshin of his imminent attack, making the enemy flinch into their block or dodge prematurely. While the enemy is distracted, the ninja using this technique can only use standard Martial Art attacks. Name: Fuuton; Suna Shunshin {Wind Type; Sand Body Flicker} Type: Ninjutsu/Genjustu Hybrid Rank: Genin Requirements: 40 Ninjutsu, 40 Genjutsu Cost: 60 Chakra + X/2; whereas X = user's level Damage: N/A Restrictions: Does not work if the attacker's Speed is higher than the user's; May ONLY be used in Setup and/or Response phases; Effects: Change from long range to close range or vice-versa; Dodge one Taijutsu/Ninjutsu technique that is equal or lower to that of the user's rank; next turn, if hit, user takes 1.5x damage from first attack user is hit by Description: The basic dodging-skill of the ninja from Sunagakure, the Village of Sand. The user forms a basic hand seal, the tora, and focuses Chakra around him/her/it. The Chakra changes into an illusion of sand that gathers around the user to hide the user's use of Chakra to almost instaneously move to a nearby location. Name: Ghost Kunai Type: Genjutsu Rank: Gennin Cost: 10 Damage: As normal kunai (ghost) Effects: Create imaginary kunai for 1 turn Description: May be used in the setup phase, the user of this jutsu creates an imaginary kunai to throw at an opponent. Great in combination with the Shadow Shuriken Skill as the first kunai. Hurricane (Shippuu) Type: Ninjutsu (wind) Rank: Gennin Cost: 20 Damage: 10 Effect: This ability leaves an opponent staggered for their next post, cutting all attack attributes in half when trying to hit with any ranged attacks or jutsus. Description: A flurry of wind surrounds the target, spinning them wildly and lifting them a bit off the ground before slamming them back down. It does little damage, but leaves their perception highly skewered and makes ranged attack difficult. Name: Kai (Cancel) Type: Ninjutsu/Genjutsu Rank:gennin (lvl.5 or higher) Cost: X+10% (X is for the cost of the genjustu you want to dispell) Damage: n/a Effects: Cancels a genjustu. Description: This jutsu is used to simply dispell a genjutsu (not bushins). It consists on first stop your own flow of chakra and then disrupt your opponents chakra with an even greater amount of chakra. You can also use it to dispell the genjutsu on your companion, but you have to touch him for this. Only dispells the effect of the genjutsu on you if it is an area genjutsu. Only works on genjutsus of your same rank or lower. Since you need a good chakra control normaly academy students can't use this kind of techniques. Gennins can use this a maximum of 3 times in a battle, chunnins 4 times and jounins 6 times. No limits for Kages. How it works: I.e. Ninja A makes a genjutsu on ninja B. The genjutsu costs 100 chakra and reduces Blablabla 50 and blablabla2 50. And it hits. Then Ninja B uses "kai" in his main phase to cancel the genjutsu. Costs X (100 this time) +10% = 110 chakra. I use the % because I thought you would need more chakra to dispell more powerful genjutsus. Name: Molasses Type: Genjutsu Rank: Gennin Cost: 30 Damage: 10 (Ghost damage) Effects: -40 Speed for 2 rounds Description: The ninja in question does the proper handseals, and then a brown softball-sized glob appears by his hands on the last seal and projects to the opponent where it grows in size and explodes all over the target. The target feels weighed down by a very viscous substance that slows them down once they are "splatted". Name: Numbness Type: Genjutsu Rank: Gennin Cost: 60 Damage: N/A Effects: -90 Nin to target for 1 turn Description: By creating a sensation of numbness, the target is unable to manipulate their fingers correctly to perform the handseals and thus takes away from the effectiveness of their techniques. Oboro Bunshin no Jutsu (Hazy Replications) Rank: Genin Type: Genjutsu Cost: 20 chakra per bunshin, 5 chakra as needed (cannot be reduced, see below) Effect: +5 Accuracy/Evasion per bunshin. (Bunshins that do not go away) Description: As Bunshin no Jutsu, except when a bunshin is hit, the user may spend 5 chakra to keep the bunshin around. Effectively, the nin that hits the bunshin goes right through the bunshins. Name: Pins-N-Needles Type: Genjutsu Rank: Gennin Cost: 30 Damage: 30 (ghost) Effects: -20 Defense for 2 rounds Description: The opponent feels like they are constantly being stabbed by sharp objects, thus lowering their pain threshholdas they act. Removed Image Rank: Genin Type: Genjutsu Cost: 60 chakra, 10 chakra upkeep (Max 2 extra turns upkeep) Effect: +40 Evasion, +20 Accuracy Description: By using chakra to disrupt the light waves around them, a ninja with this technique can make them harder to pinpoint, much less even see. At beginning levels, the user is a distorted blur in their surroundings. With the right skill, this can elevate to invisibility. Makes a very powerful method of nondetection in missions. Shadow Shuriken Skill (Kage Shuriken no Jutsu) Type: Taijutsu Rank: Gennin Cost: 30 stamina Effect: You throw two small ranged weapons of the exact same type. ie. 2 shuriken/ 2 kunai, etc. The first one is dodged regularly, and then the second one is dodged as if the user's accuracy was doubled. Description: A simple but often affective technique. When throwing a Shuriken, another Shuriken is underneath hiding in the shadow. The enemy will concentrate on the real one and not see the one in the shadow. Name: Sluggish Type: Genjutsu Rank: Genin Cost: 60 Damage: N/A Effects: Target has -60 Taijutsu for 1 turn and "Tired" status for 4 turns (simultaneous) Description: The user of this Jutsu transmits the idea into the target that they are feeling the passage of time go by slower. With this in effect, the target will attack at the wrong times and places. In addition to the misplacement of attacks, they also feel more of the strain and muscle use of every movement which for the duration of this jutsu will cause fatigue until they return to normal speed. Name: Trap Type: Backlash Type: Genjutsu Cost: 20 per bunshin destroyed Rank: Gennin: Requirements: Oboro Bunshin in effect for you Damage: 0 *0 is the base damage. Mods such as Gen, enemy Con, items, skills, etc. factor in otherwise I would have put damage N/A* Effect: Enemy takes Ghost Damage (if their HP is put to 0 or less, it is instead at 1 and they are Stunned for 1 round). The Oboro Bunshin is lost and cannot be held onto for the 5 chakra cost if this jutsu is used. Description: As any Bunshin from this nin is hit by an attack, a backlash of mental energy hits the ninja responsible for destroying it. Conditions: -Must have at least one Oboro Bunshin in play -Enemy must miss with a non-Genjutsu attack -Must be used in the Response Phase (13 slots open) Armor: -Head: Village Amulet -Neck: Genjtsu Magnifier (Rank 1) -Body: -Waist: -Forearm(s): -Hand(s): -Thigh(s): -Calve(s): -Feet: Weapons: -Main Weapon: Tanto -Sub Weapon: -Un-equipped Slot one: -Un-equipped Slot two: -Un-equipped Slot three: Items-- -Pouch: 3 Shuriken, 3 Kunai, 4 needles -Items in Vault: Nothing -Money on hand: $140 Animals--(not requirement, mostly for clan stuff) ~Update Log~ Character Approval: (date, and by whom) Leveled up: Exp Earned: +304 (Calling All Suna-Nin) ~Money Log~ + $50 and +$60 from Azzy's Riddle Thread +25 (Mission) +$25 (Mission) -$150 (Genjutsu Magnifier Rank 1) -$60 (Tanto) +$20 (Mission) +$20 (Mission) +$50 (Mission) ~Battle Log~ Wins: (against whom?) Pending Pet

Regarding the above: It was more the story to why I "bought" the pet. The character to have received this pet has been halted. Sorry to waste your time.
  11. His is "Heightened Senses". It works on a different idea. His is concentrating on one sense. Mine is the equivilant of seeing you're too far to the left and using chakra to veer right.
  12. How about that? (edited)
  13. Name: Ojozu Genki (Luck Changing Energy if I translated right.) Bloodline: Yes General description: A member of the clan with this bloodline is inherantly able to use chakra to correct any mistakes in his (generalizing, saves time) attacks, and exploit weakness in his opponent's. While it sharply adapts the skill of the ninja, he usually has problems holding his chakra in early stages due to the rapid dispensation of it to this bloodline at first. Visual effect: if the character has Rank 1, and used the "Overcome Your Problems" skill, then there is a slight steam of chakra. (slight chakra blur coming from forarms and shins). Where a character with Rank 4 who hasn't corrected their Chakra Leak would appear to have an aura of steamy chakra. Rank 1: Clan Membership Required. (-2) Effect: On any roll including the Accuracy or Evasion stats, you may lose 20 chakra to gain +5% in their favor on the roll for close combat purposes. May only be done a number of times in a battle equal to ranks in this bloodline. Upon taking this rank of the bloodline, the ninja must take the Chakra Leak hinderence. Rank 2: Gennin Rank Required (-2) Effect: On any roll including the Accuracy or Evasion stats, you may lose 20 chakra to gain +5% in their favor on the roll for ranged combat purposes. May only be done a number of times in a battle equal to ranks in this bloodline. Rank 3: Chunnin Rank Required (-2) Effect: As Ranks 1&2, except 40 chakra may be paid for +15% enhancement. (May be used twice per encounter per opponent) Rank 4: Junnin Rank Required (-2) Effect: As Rank 3 except 75 chakra for 25%. When any rank of the above are activated, it cannot be combined with any previous or advanced rank.

    Pets

I was referring to the rule where every time my character ages 5 years my pet can increase one size category. If it goes from small to medium, I get that extra 5% of stats right?
  15. PhantasyIV

    Pets

Last stupid question: If the pet advances in size, do I get the extra stat percentage, or does that only apply at purchase/creation? (makes a difference in the long run)
  16. The name is based on my favorite game of all time: Phantasy Star IV. Close MD.

    Pending Pet

I have a character awaiting approval, but I want a pet to be waiting for him upon creation. I'm buying a small pet for $100 (meaning 65% stat distribution). My idea is for it to be a panther cub, explaining how it can grow with time, even at a deccellerated rate. More will be done upon approval. If I were to start with a pet, can I use the Beast Human Clone (Juujin Bunshin), or do I have to wait the three levels for the pet's trick and hit it know teh technique as well? Name: Chugo Animal Breed: Leopard (Panther) Age: less than a year Meis' mother strokes her child's hair as he sleeps, wondering how he's grown so fast. Although we can give him a small amount of money that isn't the way to protect a child in this day and age. She ponders, drawing away from him to the door of his bedroom. She closes the door behind her, blocking the minute light that once shed into the doorway. Once outside she leans against the adjacent wall wondering how to help him. Meis' mother nearly falls as her leg is hit by something. "Oh Jin..." she mutters to the oversized cat that rubbed against her. "You know what Jin, I think you may have helped me." She returns to the master bedroom and fnds the pouch of money she was saving for her son. The next day she finds a cat the same breed as Jin and purchases it with most of the money that she had saved for Meis, and presents the cub - Chugo - to her son for his birthday. ...A few months later, at the graduation from the academy to Gennin rank, Meis looks down at his now best friend. "Buddy, I wish I could give you a forehead protector like mine," he says, tapping the metal plate with the insignia of his village on it, "but this will have to do." From his pocket he pulls out a dark green sash and ties it to Chugo's neck. "You may as well have been a classmate. I can't wait to see what adventures we get into now." Meis walks off, Chugo following closely. (344 points to distribute at $100 small pet) -Stats- (Health Power) 39 (Stamina) 35 (Chakra) 40 (Taijutsu) 20 (Defense) 20 (Ninjutsu) 20 (Resistance) 40 (Genjutsu) 20 (Concentration) 40 (Speed) 40 (Accuracy) 20 (Evasion) 20

    Pets

Okay, I know how to buy a pet, and that the more I pay the more stats it gets. Are these personally decided stats, or is it a percentile of mine? If I have a small animal, which means 20%. With a level 0 character (fresh outta academy) I have 500 stats. The animal has 100 stat points total, but do they go where I want them? Or is is proportional to mine? (E.G. if I have a 40 health, the pet has 8 health) Just making sure I know the rules.
  19. Is it just me, or is accuracy and damage nearly identical for stamina-related attacks?
  20. Greetings, You may refer to me as either PhantasyIV or CatLord. I was drawn to this site in my efforts to create my own Naruto RPG and desired to find another/others for ideas. This site seems well put together and maintained, and that being the case I decided to join. I hope I'll find an enjoyable game experience with you all.
