  1. Skill Name: Ansatsuken Description: A style of combat designed to neutralize multiple targets as quickly as possible. Ansatsuken fighters are not built for battles of attrition; if a battle draws on even one minute longer than anticipated they will be at a heavy disadvantage. It is a striking, fluid form of combat built upon a solid, immobile stance. Strikes are delivered in every possible direction, regardless of enemy positions or terrain. Effect: The user starts every battle with 5 [Flurry Charge]s. While they possess at least one [Flurry Charge], they may not gain additional [Flurry Charge]s or any charges in another Taijutsu Style. When the user's last [Flurry Charge] is lost or spent, roll a d3. For a number of turns equal to the result, the user may not spend or gain charges from any Taijutsu Style. [Flurry charges] are exhausted in the following ways: 1. You may spend up to 1 [Flurry Charge] in your set-up phase to reduce the cost of the next Ansatsuken technique by 10%; doubled if that technique is an [Area of Effect] technique. 2. You may spend up to 1 [Flurry Charge] in your set-up phase to have next Ansatsuken [Area of Effect] technique gain an additional 10% chance to hit. 3. You may spend your last [Flurry Charge] in your set-up phase and declare up to three targets; have your next Ansatsuken technique cause the "Staggered" status effect on the 3 chosen targets for one turn each if the attacks are successful. You are afflicted with "Tired" for x turns, where x is equal to the number of enemies that have become "Staggered". Requirement: 5 Posts of training with a character that knows the style. Cost: -1SP

  4. -User Data- Timezone: Eastern Standard Posting: Once a week, maybe more Character Slot: 1 -Character Data- Name: Kaketsu Matsubara | 仮決 松原 Clan: N/A Gender: Male Date of Birth: 2103 Age: 13 Birthplace: Unknown Village: Konohagakure -Appearance- Hair: Under his bandana there is grey, medium length hair parted down the center. The spiky bangs fall just underneath his eyes at either side. The back falls to either side, and gets more tousled the further back it reaches, until you get to the two grey spikes that protrude down past his neckline. Eyes: Small, narrow, pupil-less and honey colored. Height: 5'2'' Weight: 125lbs Skin Tone: Always has a ruddy tan Physical Description: His posture is full of life and confidence, though his every movement is slow and laborious. His frame is slight and nimble, deceptively so, based on his mannerisms. His fingers are long and dexterous, as his is neck as it rises from his wide shoulders. He has a handsome enough face, sharp angular features - a long upturned nose and narrow lips decorate his face. He has a blank resting pleasant expression. Clothing: Forehead protector worn on forehead, as a navy bandana that is tied tightly in the back. Usually wears a long sleeve, form fitting t-shirt that stops halfway between his elbows and his wrists. Underneath that, a short sleeved mesh t-shirt made with black textiles. About a half inch from where his shirt stops is where his hand wraps begin. They are white and somewhat bulky as they encircle his wrists and fingers for protection. A grey tied sash caps off a pair of dark khaki colored, loose fitting calf-length pants that come with a drawstring. The most prominent feature of his attired is a bright white scarf that is wrapped around his neck and flows loosely in the wind about 3 feet behind him. -Persona- Ideals: Ultimately he wants to make a name for himself. He wants to make an impact on the world. The fact that his goal is so broad upsets him, and it is a struggle to find what he believes is his intended purpose. Bonds: The people he holds most dear are his former childhood gang members. Many of whom who have entered the Academy and because shinobi. The head of the orphanage is some he also holds very high esteem. Flaws: He believes in the good nature in every person, naively in a world of shinobi. He constantly seeks the approval of his peers. He will risk his life for someone in danger, as people around him had saved him from certain death. Letting him in and giving him a simple bowl of ramen. Personality: In a word, conflicted. He portrays a cool aloof loaner for the most part, even playing up his "from the streets" background to try and appear menacing at times. It's a front. He longs for connection, but fears it as a weakness. He knows both the hardships of life and the kindness of his fellow man, but finds it hard to reconcile both. He has a strong belief in destiny, that is perhaps his strongest motivator. He devoted himself to his village, his family and his only identity. His only avenue to explore his destiny (if he has one). Or, more solemnly, his life as a ninja may be his excuse to head to an early grave. After all, he is just a runt from nowhere, who is afraid to be vulnerable. -Relationships- The Hundred Knives (I'll preface this with saying I'm new to the site and don't know anyone, so these are all NPCs, hope that's ok) The gang that Setsuri used to belong to on the streets of Konoha. This rag-tag group of misfits are all he new before he enrolled into the academy. All of whom had decided to leave the orphanage together and follow Kyoma, their leader. Kyoma - the leader of the Hundred Knives, he looked at Setsuri as his second command and consulted him on most matters of the gang. Ruriko- The third in command, though in many ways she is seen as Setsuri's equal. She surpasses him in initial physical ability. Gen - A large, round member of the group, often in trouble for eating more than his share of ramen. Ken - Gen's brother, a slight frame and quick boy. The best pickpocket in the group. Eriko - Setsuri's childhood, unrequited crush. She is very adapt at sealing jutsu, something only Setsuri is aware of. -History- Setsuri and his brother Eiji were orphaned at the ages of five and three respectively. The memories Setsuri has of his parents are very fragmented, but he remembers they were shinobi (though for what village, if any, he does not know). The last memory he has is his mother and father telling him to take his younger brother and flee, as they were being hunted and assaulted by enemy shinobi . He took off into the forest, where for several days he cared for Eiji and fed them both on what he could forage. He took them in the direction of the sunrise everyday, too overcome with his duty to his brother to mourn the loss of his parents. As they continued on, sleeping in makeshift lean-to's, there was one night that they came upon a terrible storm. The canopy of the forest was not nearly enough to protect the two young boys from the torrential rain. The next morning, his little brother Eiji awoke with a fever. It was not many days after that, that Eiji had passed away under the shady trees. Setsuri broke that day as he buried his brother, and in the same moment finally confronted the loss of his parents. When he finally gathered the strength to begin walking again, he travelled towards the sunset. Maybe he would come face to face with the enemy ninja that had torn his family apart, and maybe they would be gracious enough to finish the job. Something strange happened though. As he traveled the direction that he came from, he came across a structure that he had not passed before - it was the Konoha orphanage. He was immediately taken in and cared for. He was quiet at first, introverted. He was approached one day by Kyoma - who had such an air about him. He was looked up to by all the kids in the orphanage. He was the one that everyone wanted to be friends with, and he wanted to be everyone's friend. Kyoma took a shine to Setsuri , and was always at his side. Because of this, Eriko began to follow them, and she captivated Setsuri instantly. She was a free soul, more open than even Kyoma, she seemed to have a love for herself and the life that she had and it made her stand out. The other who would soon for the Hundred Knives began to gather around Kyoma, Setsuri and Eriko. They had there little clique, but it wasn't enough for Kyoma. He had bigger dreams. He told Setsuri that he wanted to escape from the orphanage and make it on his own, and he wanted Setsuri to come with him. Setsuri knew how dangerous the world was for a kid to try and make it on their own, but he readily accepted. There was something in him that wanted to get back to that feeling he had when he started walking towards the sunset. Something that called him to walk the line of life and death. He had one contingency, he wanted to invite Eriko - who was thrilled that she was asked to escape with them and jumped at the chance for adventure. But she had a big mouth. And soon Kyoma and Setsuri were met in the woods outside the orphanage by Eriko, Ruriko, Gen and Ken. They made it to Konohagakure proper, it wasn't hard to get to from the orphanage. It was there that they would make their home. Kyoma had the idea to form a gang, and Ruriko named it the Hundred Knives. And for the next five years, they lived in the back alleys and empty catacombs of Old Konoha. Setsuri grew to be more and more like Kyoma and Eriko with each passing day. At this point in his life he was far from the introverted, quiet boy who was walked into the orphanage. The group realized he was smart, tactical and had great battle prowess - something Kyoma had someone seen all along. These days were filled with playful schemes, daring capers and some starving nights. As much as he had grown, he was unhappy. He had been walking towards the sunrise. Eriko and Kyoma had grown closer, and how couldn’t they, being so alike in nature. It wasn't long until they were together. The next day Kyoma joined the academy. Not to be outdone, Ruriko followed him shortly after. Then one by one the Hundred Knives went from petty thieves to students for their different reasons. Now graduated, he is a full fledged shinobi. What a life he has already lived.
