Spirit Pet Effect: User can utilize an elemental spirit as their pet. These elemental spirits must be “Small” at creation, but form may change with greater ranks in this skill. Each additional rank allows the user’s spirit to move up one pet “size”. This spirit is bound to user upon completion of the Erementaru Clan ritual (can be done via history or via in game RP). Cost: Rank 1, -1 (Requirements: Erementaru Clan member); Rank 2, -2 (Requirements: Erementaru Clan member; Chuunin Rank); Rank 3, -2 (Requirements: Erementaru Clan member; Jounin Rank) I haven’t made a skill in some time and this one I’m sure may be somewhat controversial. Essentially what I’m trying to decide is how to treat the Elemental Spirits that are bound to my clan members. Should they be treated as Pets, Summons or simply as a jutsu with a per turn cost? Clan Name Kuromatsu Clan Village Kumogakure Clan Starter Analalie Wintre - Lover of first Wulf, then Drachen, having seven children from each Clan Heads Seventh Master of the Sword Enterir Kuromatsu Third Master of the Hammer Jiasutski Kuromatsu First Master of the Lance Silvutari Kuromatsu Clan Age and Status Though only around for it's third generation it is deeply rooted in Kumo and actively helps it's citizens whenever possible. The clan prefers secrecy so is only well known to the Daimyo and other affluent members of Kumogakure. It isn't a small clan with it's first generation being fourteen members strong. Clan Appearance Both male and female of the Kuromatsu tend to stand between five and six feet. Their skin is usually fair, but those who venture often to sun touched areas easily bronze. Their eyes are usually hazel or emerald in color, with the occasional scarlet. Their hair ranges from white to a dark blonde. They generally have lithe builds with toned muscles from years of swordplay. Clan Bloodline Though records and knowledge of the Gingan exist in the clan archives the only known user was Analalie Wintre. Clan Element Lightning Clan Creed and Oath Life is sacred. To take a life without provocation or meaning is akin to taking your own. Honor of the Warrior leads to strength of the clan. Honesty above all, silence when others must not be. Ninja in arms enrich the heart as much as Ninja of blood. Vengeance towards those who harm those close to your heart. Knowledge and wisdom are as powerful as strength and force. We are Kuromatsu, we are lightning, we are honor. This oath is sworn by the warriors of the clan. Oathbreaker Those who kill with impunity, deceive with disregard, and stray from the path of the warrior become known as oathbreakers. Each offense has a special punishment among the clan. Those who speak with lies must atone by acting as servant to the Master of the Hammer. The master will determine the time necessary to regain honor and lose the title of Oathbreaker. To stray from the path of the warrior is to be exiled from the clan, earning the title of Oathbreaker though not to be stripped of shinobi rank or to be declared non-nin. The only exception is to go from a warrior to a blacksmith. Those who kill with complete disregard to the sanctity of life become the target of the most sacred tradition among the clan, The Lightning Strike. The Lightning Strike The Lightning Strike calls all members of the clan, regardless of contract duty or rank, to hunt down the Oathbreaker and immolate the body in the Silver Forge. The Lightning Strike is more than a hunt, it's a time when members of the clan learn of each others abilities, train each other while bonding and strengthening their own oaths. Historically it has never lasted more than a week, with the target normally obtained after three days. After the hunt is complete the clan spends three days sparring and training with each other in celebration, followed by another four days of feasting and drinking. After the fourth day of celebration the members return to their contracts and duties. Clan Emblem Two Black Katanas crossing blades in front of a Silver Moon Clan History and Foundation Founded after the Fourth Great Ninja War in honor of the two Henshin brothers Wulf and Drachen. Wulf was a master swordsman, specializing in summoning katana and martial arts. Drachen was unparraled in his thousand fold katanas, mastering the smithy and hammer at a young age. After the Fourth Great Ninja War the Daimyo hired the brothers on to defend him while traveling in and out of Kumogakure. As a diplomat he would travel to various countries, bringing Wulf along for protection and Drachen along to learn local metallurgy to help grow the power of Kumogakure. While the Daimyo remained in the village and before other affluent members have heard of them they passed the time opening a dojo to teach all who showed interest in the way of the sword and hammer. Wulf gladly shared all his martial knowledge, establishing a steady following of young warriors fresh out of the academy. Drachen shared what he learned with other blacksmiths among the various clans helping to strengthen and advance the towns technology. By learning the fighting styles and smithing techniques of the various villages the two brothers made a name of themselves helping the village to understand and adapt various techniques in there respected trades. They took advantage of any and all opportunities to assist the Daimyo and other affluent members of Kumogakure. Upon one such mission escorting the the daughter of a wealthy merchant through the Land of Snow they were accosted by a woman wearing special Chakra armor and staring with Silver pupils. After a long and arduous battle Wulf was able to subdue her and took her along the rest of the journey as a prisoner back to Kumogakure. During the battle Drachen noticed her eyes shift colors and decided to blindfold her for the rest of the journey, not fully understanding those particular powers. During the travel back to the village Wulf fell for Analalie Wintre as she did to him. After discussions and compromise the merchants daughter agreed to not mention the details of Analalie's encounter in exchange for waiving the price of the brothers assistance. Together they had seven children and Wulf took on fewer missions with his brothers strong approval. Drachen chastised him constantly for the missions he did take saying he must consider his family, and appreciating the help around the smithy. Years later the dojo was flourishing, and with the peace fewer contracts came to Wulf. He enjoyed this time, starting the training of his children and enjoying time with his love.They spent much of their time training ninja and soldiers alike and creating lasting connections with the affluent families. Wulf was fond of an old shinobi who retired his headband after the war and took to selling books and found himself there with his family quite often. Wulf and the merchant would stroll through the streets often with the old man's grandchildren, helping those they could and talking over the joys and despair of parenting. On one of these trips an assassin had laid down a trap for the Daimyo on the road not knowing that he had fell ill and didn't take his usual route. As Wulf walked with the merchants grandchild they triggered the trap. Wulf managed to throw aside the child, but the trap destroyed half his body. Drachen was devastated by the news, and Analalie could not be consoled. Analalie went on a rampage killing all manner of bandits and murderers, earning herself the nickname of Bloody Fang. After he bloodlust was sated she turned herself in. After she found out that Drachen had been taking care of the children and trying to keep up their training, though he never had the eye for combat. The years went by as Drachen did what he could for his brothers family. Analalie admired him greatly for helping, and after many long talks ended up falling in love. They had seven children of their own and she spent her years maintaining the dojo, though they no longer trained soldiers and shinobi but children who wished to join the academy. One night Analalie awoke to a white fang protruding from Drachen's chest. Knowing that it was her who brought this about during her rampage her grief drove her into solitude. Filled with despair and rage she closed down the dojo, turning the grounds into a private training ground for her children and taught and scribed the fighting techniques of Wulf and and the smithing techniques of Drachen. These would become the two sacred scrolls of the Eldingar. She then wrote a third scroll combining the lightning katana Wulf loved so much with the thousand fold black steel that Drachen created. This would become the chosen sword of the clan and made only in the Silver Forge and the scroll only viewed by the current masters of the clan. She spent all the remaining coin she had on building the estate. The Wulf bloodline were given quarters in the west side of the compound with a large training ground east. The children shared rooms while those who reached Jonin were given their own quarters. To the east the Drachen bloodline enjoyed solitary rooms, though smaller. To the west of them a large sheltered area held many forges for the clan to utilize. To the north the masters chambers were held, split in half east to west respectively. Behind the masters quarters lies the Silver Forge. This forge is used only with the third scroll Analalie wrote. The entrance to the compound lies in the south. In the years to follow Analalie guided the clan as the first Master of the Sword. Wulf's firstborn Arunami Kuromatsu showed great promise in the ways of weaponsmithing, and after testing him with the task of making a Black Lightning she set him as Master of the Hammer. She created this to be a balancing force in the clan and to honor Drachen. Arunami spent all his time at the compound. He never saw the point in straying away from his forge and it was quite common to hear his hammering throughout the night. Analalie was quite pleased with her choice and left all crafting affairs to him while she trained the warriors. After many years she decided to step down, choosing instead to wander around the various countries. She placed Estinarien in charge and left soon after. She wasn't seen again until she was found dead at the Silver Forge many years later. During her absence the clan went through many Masters of the Sword, and it became know as a position that guaranteed a short life. Though the clan prospered through it's creation of various forging techniques and advanced technology fewer and fewer warriors accepted the oath. This made the ones who did skilled and devout the the pledge they made, which helped Kumogakure during its blitzkrieg of the other nations. Though only a handful of warriors were left to fight the Kuromatsu used their many forges to keep all soldiers well equipped and ready for anything. They developed sturdier blades and element resistant armor for use in the various nations. This made them little money for the Master of the Hammers during the war only asked for what was needed for materials and new research. The sounds of metal against metal could be heard all hours of the night coming out of the compound. Entrerir Kuromatsu was stationed at the border of the land of fire. This was his first major mission as a shinobi of the Raikage and he intended to make his mark to show the Kuromatsu warriors were as skilled as any other clan. His team was tasked with silencing any shinobi who witnessed the main force get into position. Halfway through the lead commander heard the scout tell of Hidden Leaf shinobi patrolling the area. He sent Kuromatsu to deal with it. The attack would happen soon so their presence wouldn't be missed. Excitement filled his body as his squad leader lead the way. They silently went to the area and found the ninja around a fire making camp. The four of them placed themselves at different angles and quickly dispatched the trio. They didn't know that there were two more as kunai flew into the back of two of Entrerirs squad. The leader looked at Entrerir and went after one of the shinobi who were fleeing. Entrerir went after the other. The ninja was just a Chuunin fresh out of the exam. He was dispatched quick so Entrerir went to rendezvous with his leader. He found him surrounded by enemy shinobi and on the defensive. Entrerir threw his sword into one as he rushed like lighting to him, ripping his sword out and slicing another in half. Two more surrounded him confident since his leader lay bloody on the ground. One went to warn the village. He threw his sword yet again into the fleeing shinobi, dropping him quickly. The other two went in and with his defense open managed to slice his left arm off and destroy his right eye. Bloodied and thinking the only thing that mattered was his mission he used his remaining and to release the seals and sliced them both with a katana made of lightning. With the battle won he slowly moved over to his dying leader. He informed him the village will not be alerted, and fell next to him as his leader passed with a smile. He was found later by the main army and sent back to Kumogakure to be healed up and receive commendations for completing his mission at all costs. On the other front stood Silvutari. She had done many jobs, but none quite to this task. During the assault her squad was ordered to retrieve any artifacts they could find. As they ran through the village shinobi after shinobi barred their way, only to be struck down by allied forces. They entered every building looking for prized possessions and sending them out with the runners who had joined them. They came across the compound of a clan and noticed their forces were not near. This clan had barred themselves in, waiting for the invading force. The four of them slaughtered half of them, spears and kunai ripping flesh and rending armor, before they found themselves surrounded. The three gave Silvutari and knowing nod, and as she whipped around defending them with her spear them started releasing the necessary seals for the final jutsu. Opponent after opponent threw themselves after them, only to be struck down and impaled. After what seemed like forever the jutsu was complete, and thousands of bolts of Lightning struck from the sky in a blinding flash of light. After she opened her eyes she saw nothing but scorched earth and charred boddies. Wondering how she was a live she looked at the armor her Jiasutski had given her. Sparks danced around it and flew into the ground. She smirked and continued her mission soon after retreating back to the main force. The clan received high commendations for their two warriors exemplary performances and were finally recognized, though not as much as the older clans, for their prowess as warriors and their feats as smiths.
