  1. Mobile Monolith, Kukailimoku Kukailimoku, or Moku-sama, is a whale of absolutely staggering proportions. Whales are already large creatures. Kukailimoku is the size of a mountain. A juggernaught in the air, the massive creature moves with the patience of trees. Her language is a keening, earth rumbling bass, only intelligible by her summoner. Kukailimoku is beyond old. Many stories place her alive before the world was created, floating in the void, her own power giving her all the oxygen he needed to breathe. To summon Moku-sama is an act of herculean summoning strength, as she only appears in the human plane after 100 or more years of deliberation with herself and her family. Any other entrance into the world requires a summoner whose will is iron-clad. Once summoned she'll happily follow her summoner's orders however. She sees most humans as babies, and indulges their games like a doting grandmother. 2. Razor-Finned Rebel, Okohola Okohola is a young whale to be so powerful. His intense skill at manipulating time and mental energies makes him second only to Kukailimoku himself, and that has caused his star to rise. But Okohola is impulsive and reckless (as far as Whales are concerned). He eagerly answers the calls of Summoners, hoping to test his might against wave after wave of enemies. He is the only whale who has learned some of the human tongue, although his sentences are still pretty monosyllabic. His more complex thoughts remain mentally related. Okohola's dream in life is to slow an opponent to a complete standstill with the power of his mind alone. He seeks a powerful summoner to make that happen. 3. Palatial Princess, Palaoa Palaoa is the next in line to ascend to Kukailimoku's throne, but that doesn't mean she is anywhere close to it. Palaoa is over a century away from gaining even a modicum of control over the whales, at least. But she is known as they little princess. Demure and polite at every opportunity, Palaoa strives to do everything her grandmother has taught her, always obeying and respecting her elders, and her summoners. For a whale she is surprisingly light and is concerned about her appearance, making sure her victories are not only decisive, but also beautiful. Her illusions, therefore, usually feel the most creative. Effect: +200 Concentration
  4. Lounging Loaf, Kohola Kohola is lazy. A round, balloon-like whale, the little lump is incredibly lethargic, disliking doing anything that involves intense movement or activity. He doesn't mind using his psionic powers to respond to his summoner's demands, but if there is ever a lazier way to do something, you can bet your dorsal fin he'll take it. It makes him a very easy whale to bribe, and thus, he is often the first true whale pulled forth under the contract. 5. Pink and Precocious, Pono Pono is the smallest of all the whales. Hardly a tadpole, Pono is fascinated with the human realm, often wandering being planes accidentally, getting lost for days or weeks at a time until he is found by one of his siblings. While out and about Pono often finds new summoners, who he introduces to his family when they eventually track him down. In truth, Pono is the number one way of finding new summoners, and serves an important function in the family. Stats [Health Power] 98/98 [Chakra] 1/1 [Stamina] 1/1 [Taijutsu] 0 [Defense] 0 [Ninjutsu] 0 [Genjutsu] 0 [Concentration] 0 [Speed] 0 [Accuracy] 0 [Evasion] 0 Skills Summon Family Element: Cloud Effect: This Summon Family has an affinity for Cloud Element Jutsu, and receives "Combinatorial Elements: Cloud" for free. 6. The Flying Whales of Puukohola Heiau "He rei ngā niho, he parāoa ngā kauae” – "To have a Whale's tooth you must have a Whale's jaw." The Flying Whales were thought to be a myth for the longest time. Whales cannot fly. No such animal could have wings large enough to carry a whale! Their myths began to spread like proverbs, like a cautionary tale about wanting what you cannot have and that ilk. Artists began to paint wondrous renditions of whales with six, eight, or ten feathery fins, flying through the sky with them like wings. The truth was always a little bit more mundane. The Flying Whales of Puukohola Keiau are a family of whales possessed with two unique gifts. First is the fact that they can fly. Not by having massive wings, but by using the chakra in their bodies to create masses of buoyant clouds to support their weight. It lifts them free of the ocean and propels them through the sky like massive floating islands. Second, was their ability to affect the mind of man. The whales speak a language slower and older than man, its words confusing and nonsensical. So instead, to those whom they wish to communicate with, the whales will establish mental connections, speaking in thoughts instead of words. How the Flying Whales came to meet the world of shinobi is an entirely different matter. In the time of Haguromo, a time of relative peace for ninjakind, when they had just begun to test the limits of what chakra could achieve, a man sought to claim the sky. His name was Makua, and he sought to fly, not just jump high or glide far. He wanted unburdened flight. So he slowly began to work with the Wind and the Clouds, trying to build wings to soar. But, like many, he found wings could not support his weight in the sky. He just didn't possess the musculature to fly that way. But he learned how to make a solid layer of clouds, and like a flying carpet, Makua stole the sky. He soared high and far and discovered the home those mythical creatures, Puukohola Keiau. It should be reiterated here, little ones, one cannot find the Keiau by simply flying up. The Flying Whales, seeing Makua master their version of flight, were so moved they invited him, opening a rift between their plane and ours, into their ancestral home. For, like most Summoned Creatures they do not exist in our current dimension, but a pocket world all on their own. They opened the way for Makua, and eventually offered him the contract that would allow him to summon their services in our own world. He returned to us singing their songs and knowing their tongue, and it is only through his relations with the Whales that we now know they exist, or that they have such friendly relations with Kumo. But you must remember, children, that the Whales of the Keiau do not think like you or I do. They are ancient beyond understanding. They speak a language they teach to none but their summoners, and they think and feel like mountains. They take years to make decisions. They make oaths that last the entire lifetime of humanity. We as finite creatures cannot even fathom such longevity. They do not strike without due cause, and they do not strike often. But should you ever have to stare down Kukailimoku, you will understand that their wrath is not just unstoppable. It's the wrath of centuries and time itself, inevitable and unyielding. I pray you never make them angry enough to come down and discipline you! Key • - Allies • - Neutral • - Enemies Summon Relations • - All Clans The Flying Whales of Puukahola Keiau think with the mentality of trees. They are massive creatures with massive lifespans, so no single Whale really holds much of a grudge or a friendship with any summon family. They generally stay to themselves, only involving themselves when a summoner calls for their assistance. Village Relations • - Kumogakure No Sato The mortal world connects to the Puukahola Keiau above the mountains of Kumo, whether that was intentionally done or by pure coincidence, it doesn't matter. Attacking Kumo is tantamount to attacking the Whales themselves, and so they often make a showing when Kumo is in genuine danger.
