Azure Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Nyctophobia Description: The fear of darkness is not an uncommon fear to have. Many children display this very fear when they let their imaginations run wild in their youth. However, this may develop into a phobia by the onset of life details and experiences that turn this fear that turn a person dysfunctional when faced with the dark. The person will naturally fear dark, whether it by by natural origins or synthetic blindness. The inability to have control and perceive the world around them drive them to become petrified until they can learn to adapt. Effect: Whenever the user is under the status effect Blind, or in a terrain/climate that is described as having little light, this character becomes Petrified for three turns, terrified for two turns and afraid for one turn. The user is also under the effects of Blind for one more turn than normal, this may break the turn duration. Cost: +2 Cynophobia Description: The fear of dogs is a tricky burden in cultures that rely heavily on the user of canines and language that's geared for its references. Though irrational, this particular individual is driven instantly enraged by the trace thought of a dog. Not all fears result in solely becoming afraid of a subject, but as a defense mechanism, they can instantly switch on fiery anger, nearly impossible to quell. Effect: The user becomes Enraged and Afraid once a dog, or the mention of a dog has entered the battlefield. This lasts for the entire battle and may only be considered 'deactivated' if the dog dies or the user has reduced the target who mentioned an aforementioned dog to 20% of their total health. This, of course, must be done fairly and in a way that would logically make sense why the character would become afraid or enraged at the mention of a dog, but also happen enough to warrant being a hindering trait. For example, calling a female character with this skill a bitch will suffice. Cost: +1 -- I know some phobias already exist and I don't know if some of them already coincide with these, but not everyone faces a fear the same way and that's my defense for making these, mainly for flavor x:
