Eye Color: His eyes can switch between two colors innately, blue and green. Although the changing of colors holds no particular purpose, it can still tick people off to something actually being wrong with Shikaze [the only way you'd ever notice is if you hang out with Shikaze long enough to see both phases of the eye color changing.] It has no true effect on how he acts or fights. Yet.

Clothing: On Shikaze's upper body, he tends to don his usual dark hoodie. Unlike most jackets that cover up most of the lower area of the face, this jacket has no collar to begin with, but actually has small strings hanging off of the ends of the hood which he can pull over his head. It somehow symbolizes how he can go from such a sweet boy to a monster within seconds, and usually turns people off to hanging out with him. Underneath the jacket would be a simple white undershirt, but no one has seen what is on it. Is there a secret symbol he doesn't want anyone to know about? On his hands, he usually wears gloves made of a special metal that allows the conduction of chakra within the substance. He doesn't have the coverings to his fingers, in order to make everything in his environment accessible to him without worry, and he has not yet mastered the art of conducting his chakra. On his waist, he holds the headband of the Sunagakure village. This headband shows that he has officially become a Gennin in the Village Hidden in the Sand, and not only that, but it looks pretty sweet. Other than that, he holds a small pouch where he stores most of his ninja tools, as most Gennin should. He finds this is the flashiest way of showing off the fact that he is, in fact, a ninja. His lower body is actually quite a treat, as the only thing he usually likes to wear is a pair of pants that have obviously been around with him for a long time. His height has almost reached its peak, so he shouldn't grow out of them anytime soon. These pants hold some stitches on the leg coverings, as well as a tear left opened, revealing a small scar on Shikaze's leg. What is the story behind that scar and why does he refuse to stitch it back up? On his feet are regular grade shoes you could pretty much buy anywhere. These shows are made to be able to jump from surface to surface with great ease, being the perfect fit for a ready and able ninja. There is nothing special about this pair of shoes that he currently wears.

Physical Description: Shikaze isn't exactly a bodybuilder, but he also isn't a scrawny little twig. Shikaze has a decent body build; he's not all that muscular to begin with and has no intention of building up his muscles, but you can pretty much tell that he has done a lot of weight control just by looking at his body. He is average, as far as children his age go As previously noted in the Lower Body description, and to be further clarified in this section, Shikaze only possesses one scar. He has one on his upper thigh that makes an engravement on the mind even deeper by showing that the tear in his pants was left open while all other tears were sown up nice and tight. Shikaze lives in the desert, so you might think he a little tanned. Unfortunately, he is as pale as a ghost. He never did go out much as a child because people didn't truly appreciate his sense of humor. Staying inside was one of his specialties, aside from brightening up the room with a good joke every once in a while.

Personality

Positive Traits

Fun-lover - Shikaze, being the ninja that he was back when he was in the Ninja Academy, was always a fun-loving individual. He felt that sometimes he needed to hide the fact that he was struggling on the inside, so he usually used the joking factor to his advantage so maybe instead of people feeling sorry for him, they would just want to hang out with him for a while. Although sometimes it would take some crude jokes that were against Shikaze's morals to gain some attention, he enjoyed the fact that he was able to enjoy himself with people.

High Moral Standard - Shikaze has never killed a man in his life and doesn't intend to do so unless it is a truly dire situation. He has never kept a friend for longer than a few years and currently doesn't have many to begin with, so he has never had any reason to be pushed to the edge on an emotional scale, even when reminded of his parents. This high moral standard he holds himself upon includes the facts that he doesn't smoke cigars, drink any type of alcoholic beverage, and might even be a stickler to the rules in a few situations. To him, it is very positive, but it might turn some people off to his personality.

Patience - Shikaze has great patience skills when it comes to waiting on someone to finish a task, whether it is tough or so simple he could go over there and do it faster, because he is paranoid that someone might have the same feelings about him if he were in the position of being waited upon. He feels like he needs to respect those that would have the bravery to keep people waiting; he certainly couldn't handle that kind of pressure and not sweat a little, or throw himself into insane voids of paranoia. Patience is a virtue, and Shikaze abides by that saying.

Friendly - Shikaze may not trust anyone deep inside, but you surely couldn't tell that kind of trait at the first glance of his perfectly rehearsed smile. From childhood to ninjahood, he was raised by many people that taught him that no matter what a person would do to him, it is best to hold a smile on his face and try to make friends with them. A saying that he lives by in the matter of being friendly to all humans and creatures is 'Everyone has a good side and can be reasoned with.' Although he doesn't really believe it, he wants to make sure his superiors are happy until he breaks free of the system.
 

Negative Traits

Hydrophobia - Due to a traumatic experience in Shikaze's childhood that involved him almost being drowned by his father, he has a chronic and uncontrollable fear of any kind of water. This caused him to detest the people within the Village of the Mist and love the village of Sunagakure even more. In a way, this experience also was responsible for Shikaze's love of the Wind-Style justu, as he wanted to be closer to the element of oxygen so that he could keep breathing for, as he worded it, 'an eternity'.

Rebellious - When Shikaze became a Gennin, he found that not everything in this world was what he thought. Even Suna was not an innocent village on its own; sometimes he found that he couldn't trust any of the villages. Although he will fight for the Village Hidden in the Sand for the time being, he secretly doesn't want to pledge his allegiance to any of these villages and wishes to fight for his own honor. He doesn't preach this hidden opinion to anyone, as he doesn't trust any known ninja to date.

Paranoid - Shikaze, as a child, was very paranoid about many things that occurred in his life. When he was younger, he was always afraid that his father was going to come back from the dead and drown him again in his sleep, even though his mother killed his father right in front of his eyes. He also had paranoid thoughts about the trust of others; he always thought that someone might stab him in the back because of a joke he made or because they just didn't like him, causing his trust complex to go down the tubes. He keeps his paranoia hidden up until his true emotions show in battle.

Uncontrollable Anger - Yes, Shikaze can get very angry sometimes. This might be incurred by hurting one of his teammates or teasing him about his childhood to the breaking point. Once he becomes angry, which only happens once in a blue moon, he tends to not think about his actions and will most likely try to kill you at every turn, even if he is obviously outclassed by his opponent. Only once was this anger seen, and even though he couldn't kill the man, his mother finished the job for him.

 

Likes

Wind Justu - Ever since he was almost drowned by his father, Shikaze loved to breathe in the air around him. When he started to learn about being a ninja, he wanted to learn about the element of Wind. He started to make attempts at learning how to control the wind and its anatomy. He is currently doing studies on how to manipulate the oxygen within red blood cells.

Jokes, Good and Bad - Part of the fake personality would be laughing at everyone's jokes. Just as he likes his humor to feel appreciated, he is sure that others would feel the same way about their jokes. Every joke will get one or two laughs from Shikaze, and sometimes he will burst into laughter if your joke was actually good. It's just his way of bettering the community around him.

 
Dislikes

Hurting His Friends - Whether he is forced to hurt his friends or someone else is committing the act, he is not going to be happy about it. Even if he doesn't trust a friend of his, he is meant to protect his comrades to the very end and is willing to sacrifice just that much for them to get off the battlefield. Going back to the Uncontrollable Anger trait, hurting his friends is one of the Berserk Buttons of Shikaze and he will try to kill you if you push his emotions too far.

History

A story of lost love, sad distortions in the family, betrayal, evil water... Oh, who am I kidding? Shikaze's childhood was mostly filled with a very carefree lifestyle. His family was not a rich clan like, say, the Hyuugas. His family was also not a well-known one as the Uzumakis were with the protection of the Village Hidden in the Leaves, but they were a very humble family. The issue with the Hakuyami clan is that they were very few and far between when it came to tracing back the ancestors. Why did Shikaze grow up as an only child when the Suna hospital reports showed she had three births? Shikaze was to find out the dirty secrets of his family soon enough.
 
Shikaze was not always an only child; he had a big brother and big sister to keep him company. They always pampered him as a child, giving him piggy-back rides around the pond in their backyard and working on their Wind Justu. They were the best siblings you could ever ask for. Unfortunately, one day after Shikaze went to visit the Suna Library, he saw that his mother was on the ground in tears while the father just stared out into the sunset. He never did see his siblings after that day, and it wasn't until a year later that he was going to get a glimpse into the reason why they had to leave.
 
It was a dark night in Sunagakure when the action was committed. Shikaze was fast asleep on his futon at the simple age of eight, and he had no way to defend himself when his hair was grasped by his own father. He dragged the young boy outside as Shikaze struggled with the burly hand of his supposed caregiver. Tears would stream down his face as it was shoved into the ground, almost breaking his jaw in the process. This was obviously a sign that Shikaze was to shut up now. His cries of help were silenced up until his entire upper body was lifted, revealing the small pond that always lied in their backyard. What used to be a beautiful sight full of coy fish and maybe a frog or two was turned into a personal hell on Earth as his head was submerged in this aquatic nightmare. He was struggling against his father's grip so much that he forgot that he needed to hold his breath, causing bubbles to rise to the surface of the pond's water. His vision was starting to blur and the energy within his body began to fade. He almost thought this was the end until his body was thrown out of the pond, revealing a devastating scene. His mother was facing off with the man he used to call 'Father'.
 
The mother used a few handsigns that blurred around her fingers so fast that Shikaze couldn't comprehend what symbols they created, causing a small blade of wind to appear beside her hand. She sprang out at the father and let her hand go forward, piercing the man's body to reveal a large shade of blood being added to the environment around the newly-widowed couple. Her breathing was labored as the father's body fell to the ground as well as the blade of pure oxygen that surrounded her wrist. The mother's eyes were damp with tears as she walked over to her only living son and hugged him tightly. Shikaze was afraid for his life and hugged his mother, not even caring that he lost his father.
 
Ever since that day, Shikaze had a bad fear of water and dedicated himself to the study of oxygen and Wind Justu, like his mother. He tried to talk to his mother about what happened on that day several times, and maybe figure out some reasoning to why he would try and kill Shikaze in the first place, but she would either change the subject or walk away with tears in her trail. After two years of waiting, he finally stopped asking her and did the research on his own. Naturally, there would be no details on the drowning of his own body considering that everything within the incident was covered up, but maybe if he were to find a book on the history of his clan, he could find out some things about his heritage and some of the rituals they perform.
 
Going to the Library of Sand, he went to study up on the Hakuyami clan. He found a few books on the ideals of the family and the actions they would commit, but mostly there was nothing found on any type of drowning ritual. He was just about to give up until a certain book caught his eye. 'The Damnation of the Hakuyami.' He opened the book to find details of two incidents involving... his brother and sister. The siblings that he once cherished were drowned in a lake nearby the village, and the murderer left no trace of their presence in the area. Even sensory ninja could not find the path, which is truly unusual. Since both children were Hakuyami, a rumor was spread that the ritual was used as a form of attempting to cleanse themselves of any outside influence, as well as a rebellion against the Village Hidden in the Mist.
 
The rumors were growing larger and larger until an actual hatred for the Hakuyami came to fruition. This resulted in stones being thrown at them in public, becoming a social outcast by those who knew his name, and even went so far as coming home to his house being set ablaze. He went inside the fire to see that his mother was on the ground, unconscious. He was trying to save her until a ninja appeared in front of him. The words he said to Shikaze on that day would sear farther into his brain than the burns he was receiving from the very blazes around him. "Seek the title 'Master of Wind'. Once you have realized your full potential as a Hakuyami, we shall meet again." A hurricane of gusts whirled around the man's body as he faded into the darkness, taking the flames with him and leaving an unconscious mother and his son, left on his knees. The mother woke up to see her son with an angry look on his face for the first time. Shikaze wanted answers on why his father truly killed his siblings and even went as far as trying to kill him. He wanted to know why his mother would hide the truth from him, still doing so to this very day. Finally, he wanted to know who this mystery ninja was and why he wanted Shikaze to become the Master of Wind.
 
Shikaze couldn't even trust his own mother at this point, even though she let him live on after that fated day. Maybe she didn't want to lose a third child and have the clan die with her. Either way, she started to teach him about the new morals that he should uphold and how he should treat people since the rumors were spreading with more intensity now that his father had died. He was taught that he should always be nice to everyone, but never to trust a person. Her trust was easily betrayed by the man she used to love, so she taught him this so he would never get hurt. His life became dedicated to the study of Wind Ninjustu and the possible fusion of oxygen and manipulation.
 
He went into the Ninja Academy to become a Gennin, so that maybe he could further the research on the Wind style and soon become a master of the element. Now being a Gennin and an official ninja of the Village Hidden in the Sand, he seeks out closure with his father's spirit and to become the Master of Wind.
