‘Hello there!’ Chun greeted the man across from him as he strolled into the area. He took a drag of his herbal cigarette and waved as if nothing was going to happen. After all, he was told to simply spar with the person across from him by a redhead with blue eyes. So what’s the worse that can happen?

Junsei finally saw who he was going to be sparring with. An Iwagakure shinobi who smoked. Junsei shrugged. It didn't matter, right now all he wanted was to get this started. "Hey, my name is Junsei, good luck!" Junsei called to his opponent. He hoped it would be well received, but if not, oh well. Junsei decided his best course of action was to lay down some support before launching into a full offensive. He wove together a series of seals and placed his hand on the ground. For a moment, a sealed glowed to life before moving away from Junsei, invisible to the naked eye once more.

Chun heard the name of the Suna Ninja and nodded ‘Junsei? That’s a good name. I am Chun… nice to meet cha!’

As he said this, he quickly affirmed the symbol sequence in his head as it dialed up a clone jutsu for him to mix in with. So what used to be one Chun turned into seven of them, all with one of their hands crossed and one with a cigarette, looking at his opponent.

"Thanks, nice to meet you too." Junsei replied as Chun suddenly multiplied into 7 versions of himself. The feat had been pulled off without a single hand seal. Junsei found that rather interesting. It didn't matter to him yet though. Nothing in his strategy had changed. Apparently, his opponent was adept in Genjutsu, something Junsei merely dabbled in. This wasn't a fight that Junsei wanted to deal with alone. He threw together his hands into another series of seals and slammed the ground. In a puff of smoke, a praying mantis, similar in size to Junsei, appeared.

Tsubaki was resting peacefully, enjoying the warmth of the sun on her exoskeleton. However, she felt the pull of the summoning technique calling for aid in battle. She obliged and allowed  herself to be summoned to the middle of a battle. Her pale eyes combed the area, seeing the seven identical men, none of which were her summoner, and finally found Junsei. The head of the Hanamajo clan was certainly one of hers, so she nodded to Junsei before bowing gracefully to Chun and his replicas. The mantis raised her scythe like appendages, flowed chakra through her body and rushed towards the smoking man. She swung one arm horizontally, in an attempt to slice into the target.

Chun nodded as the greeting portion of the spar was complete, still smoking a cigarette when he seen that Junsei produced a summons. He thought it was cute, there hasn’t been many times that he seen a summons. It would’ve remained cute in his mind if the thing didn’t attack. The mantis flew in his direction and performed an horizontal slash, catching Chun flatfooted. Luckily, the mantis targeted one of the clones, which it sliced through the image, but with a shimmer it simply remained in perfect mimicry of Chun

‘Hey!... you… little… mantis!’ he said as he looked at Junsei. Frowning, he concentrated in the man’s general area, rather, the air surrounding him. Forming the seal sequence in his mind’s eye, he attempted to convert all the air around him into a transparent corrosive miasma

Junsei watched as Tsubaki’s blade swept cleanly through on the Chun clones. It seemed to have no effect whatsoever as the clone simply phased through the attack and continued smoking. However, the air around Junsei began to change, before he could avoid it, the very atmosphere around him became toxic. He tried to remove himself from the area, but he wasn’t fast enough. His skin had already managed to absorb the noxious fumes.

The caustic cloud didn’t immediately cause much harm, but there was an illusionary aspect following closely behind. Just like he had been trained, Junsei focused on the illusion, allowing it to happen, but not allowing his mind to accept it. To see it for what it was, an illusion. Whatever the consequence may have been, Junsei was glad to avoid it.

With his composure regained, he knew he needed to take out his opponent, but his clones seemed to be immune to physical damage and keen to take his place. He brought his hands together and formed his own offensive illusion, this time, he picked the chun that he thought seemed out of place.

Elemental Archetype
Description: Traditionally, elements are comprised solely of Yang energy, while illusions are fulled by Yin energy. With a degree of mastery, one can mimic the formation of Yang energy like the Sage of the Six Fold Paths once did and bring their dreams to reality. Shinobi are trained to use unstable forms of chakra in this creation, leading their attacks to be more damaging.
Effect: Users that focus on this archetype will gain the ability to use the Subtle Element and Combinatorial Element skills with Genjutsu techniques, replacing any physical damage bonuses with ghost damage. In addition, the user will receive +5% to their base ghost damage when they use elemental Genjutsu. The player still needs to have the Subtle Element and Combinatorial skills to use corresponding Genjutsu of that element.

.:Primary Elemental Specialty: Earth
Naturally aligned to the element of the earth, this character has a natural tact at using and manipulating earth to their bidding. This chakra is thick and well suited for the manipulation of physical jutsu, making it perfect for the creation of barriers.
User has a -15% to base damage (rounded up) for incoming Ninjutsu attacks. Earth Jutsu cost one less JP to a minimum of 1. This effect may stack with other skills, to a maximum of -2 JP per technique. User receives the skill “Subtle Elements: Earth” for free and may purchase an additional rank of “Subtle Elements”. If the user already has “Subtle Elements: Earth”, they may have their points refunded.

Tsubaki's scythe made connection with an image of Chun, but harmlessly passed through the man. She was glad that she hadn't actually hurt anyone yet, but was also miffed at missing her mark. Both of Junsei's attacks had missed, but luck was at least partially on his side, as Chun had managed to trigger the trap Junsei had set originally. The crimson leaves of his technique rendering Chun's genjutsu illusions useless. This bought a very small window of opportunity for Junsei and Tsubaki. Junsei, who was a novice in Genjutsu, and Tsubaki, who was a complete stranger to the concept, did not possess the level of skill that Chun did in crafting the second round of attacks that came with his corrosive and painful ninjutsu.

However, Chun was not easily beaten. Even with his Genjutsu currently being blocked, he had plenty of offensive power behind him with his ninjutsu. As he created a cloud of caustic chakra to form near Junsei's eyes, the Suna chuunin could feel his eyes beginning to sting. In a matter of seconds, Junsei longed for the sting, as it grew into a severe burning. His eyes watered so badly that he had no choice but to keep them shut. This didn't leave Junsei with much of a choice. He knew it was time for a defensive approach. He didn't need his eyes to throw together his seals. The ground beneath him began to rumble as a giant flower erupted before him. It's large, strange petals unfurled and completely covered Junsei and then some. The flower was a deep red and smelled faintly of rotting meat. However, there was a cloying sweetness behind the stench. As it protected Junsei, the Rafflesia seemed to shudder of its own accord.

"Watch out Chun, this Rafflesia likes to absorb certain kinds of chakra. Looks like you caught it's attention!" Junsei called from behind his barrier and between fits of coughing. He took a moment and sat down right behind the flower, trying not to rub his eyes. The medical chakra that poured from the back of the barrier, seeped into his skin, causing the pain and burning he felt in his eyes to dull slightly for the moment, but they were still relatively useless to him now. Good thing defense was his strongest offense.

Junsei's eyes still burned, but he felt safer behind his barrier. He had managed to work out most of the pain in his eyes and it was beginning to subside, but he wasn't out of the woods just yet. Luckily, very few of his attacks depended upon sight. His hand went together flawlessly as he crafted the series of seals for his next attack. He smacked the ground beside him, as he was still sitting behind the Rafflesia. A glowing symbol appeared on the ground before fading and zooming away. Another trap laid out, Junsei knew this would become a waiting game. It was fortunate that while behind his barrier, he would be safe from most physical attacks, and while Chun's genjutsu was being hampered by his previous trap, he was safe from the non-phsyical assaults. Junsei was fine playing the waiting game.

While the pain still lingered, Junsei was able to blink open his eyes. Gingerly letting his vision focus back on the battle. Tsubaki seemed to have become the new target for Chun. Hopefully, she was able to hold her own in this conflict, but Junsei knew he could heal her if she could just hold on a little longer. For now though, Junsei to start his next offense. He wove his fingers into the series of seals that he had juts done. He smacked the ground and another trap seal appeared for a moment before disappearing somewhere on the field.

JUNSEI'S TURN

Junsei was glad to be sheltered by the Rafflesia, but it was quickly becoming clear that it wouldn't last much longer. Tsubaki had been taking the brunt of Chun's attacks, which made it easy enough for Junsei to focus on preparing for taking Chun head on. Now that it was time for the barrier to come down, Junsei wove together a series of seals. As his hands came together, his body began to glow a bright, beautiful green. The light rippled down his body and entered the ground, sending out a pulse of verdant light. The ground began to rumble gently as beautiful flowers of all sorts came popping from the ground, growing at a rate that almost seemed impossible. As the area grew to be covered in plants and flowers of varying colors, Junsei could feel his body reacting to the nature around him. Suddenly he was teeming and buzzing with vitality, spurred on by the plants around him.

JUNSEI'S TURN

Tsubaki was down and now so was Junsei's barrier. It was just him and Chun. Unless you counted Chun's clones, of course. Except they didn't seem to do much other than make it harder to hit the real Chun, which meant that Junsei didn't have to worry as much about being ganged up on, something he wasn't very good at handling. Right now, he was in his element, literally. The plants and flowers around him gave him an energy that make his skin tingle. His traps were littered throughout the field, but he wasn't done laying them down. With the extra foliage providing extra cover, Junsei laid down another trap seal that disappeared onto the field.
