PandaMattMatt
Junsei finally saw who he was going to be sparring with. An Iwagakure shinobi who smoked. Junsei shrugged. It didn't matter, right now all he wanted was to get this started. "Hey, my name is Junsei, good luck!" Junsei called to his opponent. He hoped it would be well received, but if not, oh well. Junsei decided his best course of action was to lay down some support before launching into a full offensive. He wove together a series of seals and placed his hand on the ground. PandaMattMatt
Junsei watched as Tsubaki’s blade swept cleanly through on the Chun clones. It seemed to have no effect whatsoever as the clone simply phased through the attack and continued smoking. However, the air around Junsei began to change, before he could avoid it, the very atmosphere around him became toxic. He tried to remove himself from the area, but he wasn’t fast enough. His skin had already managed to absorb the noxious fumes. The caustic cloud didn’t immediately cause much harm, but there was an illusionary aspect following closely behind. Just like he had been trained, Junsei focused on the illusion, allowing it to happen, but not allowing his mind to accept it. To see it for what it was, an illusion. Whatever the consequence may have been, Junsei was glad to avoid it. With his composure regained, he knew he needed to take out his opponent, but his clones seemed to be immune to physical damage and keen to take his place. PandaMattMatt
Both of Junsei's attacks had missed, but luck was at least partially on his side, as Chun had managed to trigger the trap Junsei had set originally. The crimson leaves of his technique rendering Chun's genjutsu illusions useless. This bought a very small window of opportunity for Junsei and Tsubaki. Junsei, who was a novice in Genjutsu, and Tsubaki, who was a complete stranger to the concept, did not possess the level of skill that Chun did in crafting the second round of attacks that came with his corrosive and painful ninjutsu. However, Chun was not easily beaten. Even with his Genjutsu currently being blocked, he had plenty of offensive power behind him with his ninjutsu. As he created a cloud of caustic chakra to form near Junsei's eyes, the Suna chuunin could feel his eyes beginning to sting. In a matter of seconds, Junsei longed for the sting, as it grew into a severe burning. His eyes watered so badly that he had no choice but to keep them shut. This didn't leave Junsei with much of a choice. He knew it was time for a defensive approach. He didn't need his eyes to throw together his seals. The ground beneath him began to rumble as a giant flower erupted before him. It's large, strange petals unfurled and completely covered Junsei and then some. The flower was a deep red and smelled faintly of rotting meat. However, there was a cloying sweetness behind the stench. As it protected Junsei, the Rafflesia seemed to shudder of its own accord. "Watch out Chun, this Rafflesia likes to absorb certain kinds of chakra. Looks like you caught it's attention!" Junsei called from behind his barrier and between fits of coughing. He took a moment and sat down right behind the flower, trying not to rub his eyes. The medical chakra that poured from the back of the barrier, seeped into his skin, causing the pain and burning he felt in his eyes to dull slightly for the moment, but they were still relatively useless to him now. Good thing defense was his strongest offense.**Rafflesia Arnoldii for reference Response Phase Chance to Hit [Physical]: 166% - 129% [Eva Mod] = 37% Dodge Roll [Physical]: 26 | Hit! PandaMattMatt
Junsei's eyes still burned, but he felt safer behind his barrier. He had managed to work out most of the pain in his eyes and it was beginning to subside, but he wasn't out of the woods just yet. Luckily, very few of his attacks depended upon sight. His hand went together flawlessly as he crafted the series of seals for his next attack. He smacked the ground beside him, as he was still sitting behind the Rafflesia. A glowing symbol appeared on the ground before fading and zooming away. Another trap laid out, Junsei knew this would become a waiting game. It was fortunate that while behind his barrier, he would be safe from most physical attacks, and while Chun's genjutsu was being hampered by his previous trap, he was safe from the non-phsyical assaults. PandaMattMatt
JUNSEI'S TURN Junsei was glad to be sheltered by the Rafflesia, but it was quickly becoming clear that it wouldn't last much longer. Tsubaki had been taking the brunt of Chun's attacks, which made it easy enough for Junsei to focus on preparing for taking Chun head on. Now that it was time for the barrier to come down, Junsei wove together a series of seals. As his hands came together, his body began to glow a bright, beautiful green. The light rippled down his body and entered the ground, sending out a pulse of verdant light. The ground began to rumble gently as beautiful flowers of all sorts came popping from the ground, growing at a rate that almost seemed impossible. As the area grew to be covered in plants and flowers of varying colors, Junsei could feel his body reacting to the nature around him. Suddenly he was teeming and buzzing with vitality, spurred on by the plants around him. PandaMattMatt
JUNSEI'S TURN Tsubaki was down and now so was Junsei's barrier. It was just him and Chun. Unless you counted Chun's clones, of course. Except they didn't seem to do much other than make it harder to hit the real Chun, which meant that Junsei didn't have to worry as much about being ganged up on, something he wasn't very good at handling. Right now, he was in his element, literally. The plants and flowers around him gave him an energy that make his skin tingle. His traps were littered throughout the field, but he wasn't done laying them down. With the extra foliage providing extra cover, Junsei laid down another trap seal that disappeared onto the field.
