  1. Enton: Zenbi | 炎遁・全備 | Blaze Release: Consummation Type: Ninjutsu [ Blaze | Dōjutsu; Mangekyō Sharingan | Hijutsu; Uchiha ] Rank: Jōnin Cost: 40 Chakra Effect: This technique is used in the Main Phase as a Free Action. The next Fire element technique used by this character on this turn replaces its ‘Fire’ elemental descriptor with ‘Blaze’. This technique may not be performed on consecutive turns. Description: While the primary application of an Uchiha’s Blaze Release is to freely manipulate the ever-burning flames of Amaterasu, inventive Uchiha devised Enton: Zenbi as a simple means of applying a small portion of their Black Flames to their standard Fire Release techniques- not enough to overly tax their vision, but just enough to make an opponent think twice about letting themselves touch an Uchiha’s flames. JP: 1
  2. Designer's Notes Costs: Damage: 200 * .5 = 100 Burning: .8(300*.5) = 120 Black Fire Seal: 200 (Hat Pull). Running Cost: 420 Black Fire Seal paid for in Health: 200 * .5 = 100; 100/2(Health conversion) = 50 Health. Final Cost: 320 Chakra + 50 HP As for the effects, it's pretty straightforward. This isn't a traditional sealing technique in that it falls off after battle, and it can be removed by forcing the user to turn off their Mangekyo, or once they turn off their Mangekyo. No, the active stacks do not return when you reactive Mangekyo, you gotta apply them again. The CP value on Black Fire Seal is not there so this can be applied through other means, just so that there is a hard number to interact with for any kind of seal removal effect with a variable cost... or any other relevant purpose.
  3. Enton Fūsa | 炎遁封鎖 | Blaze Release Sealing Chains Type: Ninjutsu [ Blaze | Kinjutsu; Powerful | Dōjutsu; Mangekyō Sharingan | Hijutsu: Uchiha Saki ] Rank: Jōnin Cost: 320 Chakra + 50 Health Damage: 50/strike Effect: This technique possesses four (4) strikes. Each successful strike inflicts ‘Burning: 25’ for 3 turns and applies one stack of ‘Black Fire Seal’ to this technique’s target. ‘Black Fire Seal’ applied through this technique last until the end of Battle, but all active ‘Black Fire Seals’ applied by the user are removed from their targets if the user’s Mangekyo Sharingan is deactivated. 'Burning' afflicted by this technique and by 'Black Fire Seal' is treated as if it were caused by 'Amaterasu'. This technique may not be copied through any means unless the copier possesses both Enton: Kagutsuchi and Adamantine Sealing Chains. Description: Shortly after manifesting the ever-burning effects of Amaterasu within her Mangekyo Sharingan, Uchiha Saki noticed her black fire possessing a predisposition toward forming into searing chains-- an incomplete manifestation of her Uzumaki heritage given form through her innate ability to produce and shape Blaze Release techniques. Though she found that the technique was particularly taxing to perform, it possessed an ability unlike any other Blaze Release manifestation so far: the ability to imbue a target’s chakra circulatory system with Blaze-natured chakra, causing their own chakra to erupt into Black Fire when used in any significant quantity. Requirements: Level 70 JP: 15 Black Fire Seal Effect: Whenever a character afflicted by ‘Black Fire Seal’ would spend Chakra, they are also afflicted by ‘Burning: XY’ for two (2) turns, wherein X is equal to 4% of the chakra spent and Y is equal to the number of ‘Black Fire Seal’ stacks active on this character, to a maximum of 4. ‘Burning’ caused by this effect is considered to have been caused by 'Amaterasu'. Stacks: (1-4) CP Value: 50 per stack
  4. Correct. If he still wants to have them, I'm willing to let him make a version that is personal to him(and requires rinnegan) to replace them- carbon copy and whatnot. I just didn't think it was quite right for the skills to be able to be taught, since the gravity one, at the very least, was originally meant to be part of the bloodline itself(but I was told not to do that and just make it a skill instead?)
  5. K, upped to -2. I honestly don't mind cutting the skill out if that's what needs to happen.
  6. Character Name: Uchiha Saki Village: Konohagakure Specialties: Fire Ninjutsu, Sharingan Past Gift: Cloak of Wisdom Character Name: Otsutsuki Kuzume Village: Konohagakure Specialties: Gravity Ninjutsu-Taijutsu hybrids, Tenseigan Past Gift: Standard Issue
  7. Updated the mechanic to the proposal wherein it increases the effectiveness of copy, but decreases the effectiveness of Insight. Additionally, I added an "in Battles" qualifier so it does not apply to RP-only threads. Added a requirement of Sharingan Insight Rank 1, and reduced the cost to -1.
  8. Cleaned up the wording a bit on the second skill- no effect changed. I made it so that the first rank can be purchased at level 20 and the second may be purchased at level 80. @cntrstrk14 is this an acceptable compromise for this?
  9. Yeah, that makes good sense to me- thanks for taking the time to expand on it. I think the only part that I find myself disagreeing with is the idea of moving away from "Mastery" skills on advanced systems based on how they were originally balanced? It's my personal belief that if someone wants to invest further in the strength of their advanced system(especially when it can be controlled or regulated in battle by common status effects), they should probably be allowed to do that. That being said, because the Sharingan was so meticulously balanced, I can definitely understand where concerns of additional skills tipping the scales away from our sweet point come into play. Maybe for mastery-type abilities like this, we could compromise and look at it as a "power shift" rather than an outright "power gain". For instance, the effect could instead be something like: "Treat this character's Sharingan Copy skill as if it were one rank higher when attempting to Copy techniques. If this character possesses the highest available rank of Sharingan Copy, instead increase their required success roll range by +1(1-8 roll becomes 1-9 instead. As long as a character possesses this skill, treat the statistical bonuses granted by their Sharingan Insight bloodline skill as if it were one rank lower." ?
  10. Sharingan linked in the designer's notes post. Also is now linked here. @cntrstrk14 could you elaborate on what about it is rubbing you wrong? I never personally took this, or intended to, because I found it to be quite overpriced for what it did- so I'm not attached to the effect as is... I just would rather that it didn't go from a "very niche" skill to "barely worth consideration". As an alternative, what if I moved it to -3, 1 rank, and it just perma-increases the roll range by 1?
  11. Given how SP intensive Sharingan still is, especially with its satellite skills(Susano'o, Blaze Release if you go that route, Mirror's Reflection, etc), I do honestly think that -4 SP for 2 "guaranteed" copies is worthwhile. At the Mangekyo level, you're going to succeed in copying most of the things you want to copy in threads/battles, this is primarily useful at the lower levels of Sharingan. Just looking at Saki... She's successfully copied about 48 JP worth of techniques with standard mangekyo values. To my best recollection, she has only failed around 3 or 4 jutsu copies, which would have probably boosted her to about 58 JP, rounded to a pretty 60. If I instead focused on two elements and purchased 2 skills for -2 that reduced the JP cost of those elements, she'd be looking at a savings of... well, when I break down all of her multi-function jutsu, she'd be looking at a rough savings of -48 JP right now-- bearing in mind, of course, that she already has 57 JP floating. Plus, the -4 SP for that would double into itself, as the JP you save would be used to purchase more jutsu... that you save JP on. In that comparison, it's also worth noting that Copy isn't going to give you what you "need" all the time. Yeah, it'll give you an opportunity to replicate some neat things that you wouldn't otherwise have access to, but there's no promising that it'll be a piece that your kit actually needs- whereas outright JP reductions compound on themselves and are sure to give you exactly the mechanics you're looking for. To loop it back around, I think that -4 for 2 increased copy rolls and eventually 2 guaranteed copy rolls is actually overpriced given the other available options that are dramatically more efficient in almost every observable instance. But... I doubt I'm going to sway you on that, so.
  12. Designer's Notes Resubmission of this skill. Mechanically it's the same, the old one just referenced old Sharingan rank names & had a skill name that didn't jive with the other Uchiha stuff. Please move the other to dead. Sharingan may be found here.
  13. The Art of Absolute Imitation Effect: Treat this character's Sharingan Copy skill as if it were one rank higher when attempting to Copy techniques in battle. If this character possesses the highest available rank of Sharingan Copy, instead increase their required success roll range by +1(1-8 roll becomes 1-9 instead. As long as a character possesses this skill, treat the statistical bonuses granted by their Sharingan Insight bloodline skill as if it were one rank lower. Description: Some shinobi within the Uchiha clan are naturally more gifted with the analytical aspects of their kekkei genkai. A bearer of this mastery has trained themselves to more easily identify the core principles of techniques and to subsequently replicate them with greater ease. Requirements: Uchiha Clan Membership, Sharingan Copy Rank 1, Sharingan Insight Rank 1 Cost: -1
  14. Designer's Notes Previous version found here. Changes: Added clan hereditary tag to each one. Resurgent Subjugation had the Ninjutsu Mastery requirement removed, 'cause it was... kind of superfluous.
  15. Heavenly Manipulation of a Transient World Effect: Characters with this skill gain the skill "Combinatorial: Gravity" for 0 SP. Description: Since times prehistoric, the Ōtsutsuki clan has been known to have exerted a mastery over the primal forces of the world or other such celestial bodies. Specifically, the Ōtsutsuki have shown an exceptional ability to force their will upon Gravity itself. Though the power is common among members of the clan, it manifests at various ages and at differing stages of power. Requirements: Tenseigan Cost: -3 Resurgent Subjugation Effect: Once per rank in Resergent Subjugation per battle, an Ōtsutsuki may choose to triple (3x) the base cost of a Gravity Ninjutsu and turn that Ninjutsu into an Area of Effect technique. If this skill is used on a technique with a per-battle usage, the amplified technique may not be used again for the duration of battle. Description: Over time, some members of the Ōtsutsuki have developed a certain level of mastery over their Gravity ninjutsu that has allowed them to overload a technique with chakra, typically resulting in a dramatic amplification of the area effected. Ranks: 2 | Rank 1 may be purchased at level 20, Rank 2 may be purchased at level 80. Restrictions: Tenseigan Cost: -2
  16. Quick update: Feline Superhuman Sensory- The previous form had an abusive technicality present in its wording that made it immune to blind and impaired eyesight basically no matter what. This has been amended!
  17. Fixed! Changelog: Arsenal of the Cat God: Updated to be 3 ranks. Each Rank grants the claw weapons better scaling and one rank of Lightened Craft or Sharpened Edge. Now gives 'Free-handed' out the gate rather than some weird mechanic about not taking up hands and being basic attacks. Feline Superhuman Sensory: Removed the drawback pertaining to Impaired Hearing/Smell and Deafened. At -2, this breaks even at +2x passive stat gain and the Impaired Eyesight/Blind effect is so fringe that it'll probably never come into play. Font: Now in Century Gothic, because that was what was really broken here.
  18. Changed the effect entirely, so now it's... a bit more like MTG Cascade? I'm not sure if it's still too flexible or not, though.
