  1. You may want to look into toning back the negative effects on Bloodlust for this resub. It was something I had been meaning to do, but got put to the backburner after the Sennika user rerolled. They reported that the negative effects of Bloodlust felt very bad in actual gameplay and weren't rewarding enough for the level of drawback. That being said, the single Sennika user was also a glass cannon build, so it may just have been poor build choice. Something to think about!
  2. This is just a placeholder resub while I work through the details on this. THIS IS NOT YET READY FOR REVIEW.
  3. Gyōmatsugan | 行末眼 | Fate-Seeing Eye The Land of Demons is known above all else for a particular line of priestesses that hold a unique bloodline, known in the modern era as the Gyōmatsugan- the eye that divines the future. Though the origin of the kekkei genkai is entirely unknown, it has been observed to have been passed down exclusively through blood relation and is therefore classified appropriately, despite its lack of being tied to any major clan or village. Unlike most Dōjutsu, the Gyōmatsugan is not known to actually augment its user's base vision, and similarly does not grant any level of ability to discern chakra inside of an individual. Instead, the eye deals in a form of altered perception, granting its wielders a sort of "dual sight" that connects the present wielder to their future self. In reality, the Gyōmatsugan is a space/time technique that simply manifests within the user's eyes. The Gyōmatsugan's specific mechanics are not well known to scholars, as those who have inherited it have been traditionally very protective of its capacities and its true nature. When active, the eyes serve as a visual "portal" joining the visual input of a user to their future self. The kekkei genkai subconsciously feeds a present user's mind all of the information readily available to the future incarnation of the bloodline user. Though this link is very potent and beneficial in combat, its primary weakness comes from the user themselves. If their future incarnation reduces the bloodline to a passive state, the link between the user's differing temporal states is severed and the abilities of the present user are similarly limited. In this way, the active manifestation of the Gyōmatsugan is incredibly susceptible to ambushes and deception. However, as the kekkei genkai is not a Dōjutsu in the traditional sense, it may not be disabled by limiting the present user's sight for a brief period of time. In addition to the "dual-sight", the Gyōmatsugan has a passive attribute that serves as a fail-safe to protect the inheriting priestess from suffering any sort of untimely demise. When something would deal the death-blow to a wielder of the Gyōmatsugan, the bloodline activates involuntarily and immediately projects an ethereal form of the user's consciousness back in time, to a point just prior to their death. There, the future consciousness will temporarily meld with the present user's mind and warn them of their impending demise, giving them ample time to escape death or to convince another to die in their place, as per the religious tradition tied to the kekkei genkai that death is a price that must always be paid. When a user of the Gyōmatsugan expends a large quantity of their energy on activating their kekkei genkai at once, they may "see the future" of themselves to a certain point via reaching through space/time and forcing their future self to activate their kekkei genkai. This allows a temporary synchronization of the present and future self's minds and grants the present wielder access to information that they would not otherwise gave, giving others the impression that they have some manner of true clairvoyance. Gyōmatsugan Activation/Upkeep • 5% total chakra • Advanced System Special Note; The Gyōmatsugan is not deactivated or made to pay any extra costs when the user's vision is obscured for less than 3 turns. Restrictions: Ranks may only be purchased once per 20 levels Gyōmatsugan Projection [ - ] Description: The Gyōmatsugan grants its abilities the unique ability to project themselves into the past immediately upon the moment of their demise. The bloodline will activate as they are dealt a killing blow and send their consciousness into the past, whereupon it will join with the past version's mind and inform them of their impending demise. This allows an inheritor to easily avoid the moment of their own death, though it does tend to be rather taxing on the past variation's body. Effect: This skill may be activated X times per battle. When an attack that would reduce the user's HP to or below 0 instead deals damage to the user's chakra and stamina equal to .5(100-10X)% of the total damage that would have otherwise been dealt, after the user's defense is applied; X is equal to the current rank in this skill. This skill triggers automatically and independently of the user's discretion; this skill may be triggered even when the Gyōmatsugan is not active, though doing so increases the stamina/chakra damage sustained by 25% each. If this skill is triggered while the Gyōmatsugan is not active, it is then considered active for the remainder of that turn and its upkeep must be paid accordingly. Ranks: 3 Restrictions: Ranks may only be purchased once per 30 levels -2 Gyōmatsugan Prescience [ - ] Description: While active, the Gyōmatsugan allows its wielders to see a joint vision that links themselves and their future incarnations; this ability grants the wielder the ability to see the many paths of their personal and immediate future, thereby allowing them to more easily avoid danger. Effect: While the Gyōmatsugan is active and this character would make a dodge roll, they have a 10X% chance to be allowed a second dodge roll- the second roll is always taken. X is equal to the current rank in this skill. Ranks: 4 Restrictions: Ranks may only be purchased once per 20 levels -1 (Ranks 1 and 2) | -2 (Ranks 3 and 4) Gyōmatsugan Prediction [ - ] Description: The future-sense inherent to an active Gyōmatsugan grants its user the incredible ability to adjust their attacks to compensate for a dodge that the opponent was already in the process of making. This grants a Gyōmatsugan and incredibly amount of "accuracy" and bragging rights about getting everything right on "the first try". Cheaters. Effect: While the Gyōmatsugan is active, attacks made by this character have a 10X% chance to be treated as though they were a dynamic trap with their conditions currently met. Techniques modified in this way do not suffer from the usual -4% to-hit from standard dynamic traps. X is equal to the current number of ranks in this skill. Ranks: 4 Restrictions: Ranks may only be purchased once per 20 levels -1 Gyōmatsugan Prevention [ - ] Description: A branch off of the previous utilization of the Gyōmatsugan's joined future sight; wielders of the kekkei genkai are exceptional at seeing and acting to prevent the would-be counter maneuvers of an opponent. With a near infinite knowledge of the immediate future, the user has the ability to see exactly where a defensive structure's weakest point is, or to see that they have to swing just that much faster to prevent an opponent's escape. Effect: While the Gyōmatsugan is active, Response Phase techniques used against this character have an additional 5X% chance to fail, where X is equal to the number of ranks that the user currently has in this skill. This fail chance applies even if the technique used would not normally have a fail chance. Ranks: 4 Restrictions: Ranks may only be purchased once per 20 levels -1
  4. Purge doesn't actually specify how much damage is reduced by it.
  5. Just took a peak at this and thought I'd drop in a few points of clarity you might want to make on the effects: > I don't think there's anything "wrong" with describing block chance as a %, but I would maybe change the wording to something like: "The user may spend x Bew charges during their Setup Phase to increase their block range by +5x against the next physical attack that targets this character." Mostly just my paranoid mind going "well, what if someone treats my wording very literally and increases by block chance of 5 by 25%... to 6.25 instead of the 30 total that I indended." > Because the block effect pertains to the "next attack", you'll probably either want to add a line that says that you cannot have multiple instances of that effect active simultaneously, or that the effect stacks to a maximum of +25/30/whatever block range. Alternatively, you could phrase it like "against the next physical attack that targets this character; this effect is removed at the end of the user's next Response Phase". > Clobbered Effect- needs to specify how many turns of Clobbered it adds. I'd imagine only one, so I'd say "The user may spend 1 Brew Charge in their Main Phase, as a free action, to add 1 turn of "Clobbered" to a Taijutsu, Weapon, or Basic Attack made during the same phase."
  6. Furor is a word ye, "an outbreak of public anger or excitement." Force changed to -2 per rank.
  7. Bakuton | Explosion Release | 爆遁 Bakuton | Explosion Release | 爆遁 Description: Bakuton, or Explosion Release, is a kekkei genkai found predominantly within Iwagakure no Sato. Despite having no singular clan to unify its inheritors, Iwagakure recognized the grand, destructive, potential of this kekkei genkai and used it as the keystone to their Explosion Corps. The bloodline itself is a combination of Earth and Lightning chakra affinities in quantities that vary based on its applications; the resulting chakra nature generates a massive quantity of latent explosive force, which may be utilized either immediately to great effect or delayed for devastating traps. Due to Bakuton's blending creating explosive energy rather than anything tangible on its own, it may be used to accentuate the qualities of tangible entities to convert nearly anything into an improvised explosive. Though Explosion Release is thought to be related to Iwagakure's other famous kekkei genkai, Dust Release, the basic natures that comprise the two elements share only Earth as a progenitor chakra nature. Their effectiveness is often compared, given that both are capable of great feats of destruction- though Bakuton is considered much easier to master to similar effect. That stated, Bakuton's destructive ability is as wild as it is large, making it a difficult element to safely apply 'Shape' to. Bakuton The Bakuton kekkei genkai is the genetic sequence that produces the Explosion Release advanced chakra nature without the necessity of extensive training in chakra manipulation. Through the inheritance of Bakuton, a wielder of this kekkei genkai is capable of producing, manipulating, and with training, shaping highly volatile chakra. Inheritors may take this gift at its most basic form and simply produce large, semi-guided, explosions on demand- or they may learn to tweak the blend of Earth and Lightning to properly apply Shape Manipulation in a way that allows them to produce physical structures that are capable of exploding after a pre-determined period of time and/or by inheritor command. Restrictions: Iwagakure, Ranks of the following skills may be purchased once every 20 levels. Bakuton Affinity - Rank One Effect: Characters with this skill gain the skill 'Combinatorial; Explosion' for 0 Skill Points. When purchased at character creation, the skill 'Combinatorial; Explosion' replaces their village bonus skill. When purchasing the skill 'Ninjutsu Mastery; Explosion', characters with this skill may purchase 2 ranks for 1 Skill Point. Cost: -1 Bakuton Force - Rank [ - ] Effect: When applying the effects of this character's 'Combinatorial; Explosion' skill, the target of that Explosion-element Ninjutsu reduces their Defense statistic by an additional 5x%, with 'x' being equivalent to the user's rank in this skill. Additionally, once per battle per 2 ranks in this skill, this skill may be activated in the Main Phase as a Free Action; activating this skill increases the Base Cost of Response Phase jutsu used against this character's Explosion-elemental Ninjutsu by 25% during a target's following Response Phase. Maximum Ranks: 4 Cost: -2 Bakuton Furor - Rank [ - ] Effect: This character's Explosion-elemental Ninjutsu 'Set Traps' now increase their chance to hit by an additional +x(1y)% at the beginning of their turn, wherein 'x' is equal to their rank in this skill and 'y' is equal to their ninja rank. Additionally, once per battle per 2 ranks in this skill, this character may use a damaging Explosion-element Ninjutsu as a Free Action during their Response Phase to increase their Evasion by an amount equal to that technique's Base Damage. Maximum Ranks: 4 Cost: -1 Bakuton Chain Reaction - Rank [ - ] Effect: When performing a non-Area Ninjutsu of the Explosion Element, a character with this skill may choose to reduce the total damage of that technique by 10x%, with 'x' being equal to their rank in this skill. The next Area Ninjutsu of the Explosion Element performed by this character has its base damage increased by 10x%. This effect may stack up 'x' times. Maximum Ranks: 4 Cost: -1
  8. Poking, because honestly, you're not gonna see this :D But one day you're gonna check NA and be like "Wtf Elsie, why didn't you just msg me on discord?" And I'm gonna be like CUZ YOU'RE A POO AND WONT RP WITH ME. You suck yo

  9. Designer's Notes Redoin' that technique as a skill per Cntr's request. Easy Breezy!
  10. Blaze Release: Conflagration Effect: This skill may be activated during the Setup Phase as a standard action. [Fire] elemental techniques used on this turn are treated as though their [Fire] elemental descriptor was instead [Blaze]. This skill may only be activated while the user's Mangekyo Sharingan is active. Requirements: Blaze Release Cost: -1
  11. It was not my intention to cheekily get around the Mangekyo activation requirement. Added that qualified in the first section of the effect! @Cellar Door
  12. I will make this instead as a skill, please move this thread to dead when you have a chance- thanks!
  13. @cntrstrk14 Wording updated to mostly read as you suggested, just minor phrasing tweaks for personal reading preference. I believe you and KC spoke about this in discord, but the primary purpose of the "Amaterasu" fire effect is that it allows these instances to fulfill Enton: Kagustuchi's conditions- linked above. Outside of that, there are no additional interactions that I am aware of.
  14. I wasn't intending the flavor side of this to like... suggest that people got pulled in to get hit by it. What I was attempting to convey was that even if it was a ranged attack, the "shield" would trigger and just shoot one long lance at that person. It's not identical to Sasuke's usage of it, but I am willing to sacrifice a little bit of flavor in exchange for something more universally useful. That kind of bridges into your second point: I had considered making this a damage-dealing RPJ, but the precedent that sets leaves a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth. I'm fond of the effect I came up with here, 'cause I feel it's a pretty good interpretation of the technique does while also still having a little more utility to it. I'd like to work with what I've got for now and see where that takes us.
