1. I'm fine with these as are, but I do think that it should start at genin and evolve up. Effect feels a little drab, but what can you do? Effect can probably be worded better too, but I'll let the approval staff handle it.
2. OOC: I'll just let it slide on account of being lazy & probably being late anyways. If I'm super late here, I won't be offended if you wanna DQ me and save yourself some time. Saki’s brow lifted slowly at his opponent’s return fire of an innuendo; next, the red-haired man’s flower-patterned Sharingan slipped to the side in search of the cameras nearby. He wondered just how far their conversation would be allowed to go, given that this was a television spectacle. Should he avoid cursing too much? Would their battle get interrupted if one of them said something too overtly sexual? He wondered if he should, perhaps, show a little restraint witht hat overly mouthy nature of his… but on the flip side, wasn’t it only fair that Keanu got to know him as he was before they ‘dated’? It was quite the pickle-- but not one that he would be given too much longer to contemplate, given the surge of chakra encapsulating the woman that was to be his battle-date. Saki leaped into the air as her talons of lightning lanced through the air and blasted his two, slower, clones into smoke. The red-head’s eyes snapped back to Keanu and observed the thin layer of chakra coursing over her skin like some secondary dermal layer, likely a defensive measure. That would probably diminish his ability to damage her outright, and while he did not doubt that some of his abilities could ‘pierce’ through her… he would let her experience those later- after he had peeled away her protection. After all, it was just so much better when their techniques were used raw and unhindered, right? “Long enough? Poor girl, I wonder who you’ve been with that’d give you that idea. Technique is more important than speed!” Saki snapped back as he landed and produced a scroll/brush sumijutsu kit from his tool pouch. With a quick motion, he inked his brush and scrawled something brief onto his hand, then set to quickly drawing a large tiger upon the scroll. The tiger peeled itself free and charged toward Keanu while Saki stored his scroll and broke into an arcing charge toward the woman as well- his hand held before him. Upon his palm, the characters that he had scrawled began to glow a searing white, steaming in his hand; it was obvious that the attack would not be a pleasant one if it was allowed to meet Keanu’s bare skin. When they reached their opponent, the tiger lunged forward and sought to bite down upon Keanu’s shoulder, using its claws then to dig into her protective chakra-skin and hold her in place. Saki himself thrust his palm forward, aiming to transfer the scalding sigil from his hand to the woman’s bare stomach. ✬ Response Phase ✬ Attempted Sharingan Copy: Rolled 9, Failed! -112 Chakra | Saki dodged the attack targeting him | Accidentally rolled early for the clones, so they were hit & destroyed: 86 & 62 ✬ Setup Phase ✬ -7.5% Chakra for Mangekyo Upkeep ✬ Main Phase 1 ✬ Using Vermillion Calligraphy Sealing Method; Null Magic Shushodō Fūhō; Kūhaku Mahō | 朱書道封法; 空白魔法 | Vermillion Calligraphy Sealing Method; Null Magic Type: Ninjutsu [ Fire | Hijutsu; Uchiha | Hijutsu; Uchiha Saki ] Rank: Jōnin Cost: 160 Chakra Damage: 120 Effect: The target is under the effects of [Quarantine: Ninjutsu] for two (2) turns. To begin Kūhaku Mahō, the user will use their sumijutsu brush(or similar utensils) to paint the kanji for "Null Magic" onto one of their hands, then will imbue it with the powerful Fire-nature chakra found within most members of the Uchiha clan. They will then attempt to close the distance to their target, then touch them with the augmented hand. Additionally, this technique may be used to convey written messages over long distances; for every 500 words of required travel between the user and their intended target, the message will take 6 hours of In-Character time. Description: Chōjū Giga is commonly considered the precursor technique of most modern Sumijutsu and remains one of the most versatile ninjutsu techniques around. With chakra-infused ink, the user of Chōjū Giga quickly draws upon a ninja scroll; after the completion of a drawing, the ink will peel away from the scroll and grow to life size, acting according to the user’s will at the time of its creation. The most common applications of Chōjū Giga are found in its name: powerful variants of beasts. The most outwardly offensive variations may range from a pack of angry lions to a large dragon intimidating a target as it barrels down upon it; similarly, small creatures such as rats and snakes may be drawn to deliver messages or even bind a target in place. Among the many applications of Chōjū Giga, flying creatures are perhaps the most popular, as they allow the user to soar up and above battlefield hazards and close long distances in short amounts of time. Upon the completion of a given task, most creatures created by Chōjū Giga will disintegrate into little more than a puddle of ink upon the ground, though they may occasionally be called back into a scroll for later use. 3. I would say that it does not, given that it's an additive effect that doesn't specifically indicate that it adds duration where there is none. If that's something you guys would think to be okay, I'd happily include that as an option- but for now, my gut says that I did not design it to add turns onto nothingness. This technique’s rank is based on the user’s rank in the skill ‘Sharingan Hypnotism’ (i.e: 1; Genin, 2; Chunin, 3; Jonin, etc) and may never exceed the cost of a technique of that rank. Description: While renown for their fighting prowess, the Uchiha clan are feared as adversaries above all else due to the unique hypnotic attributes of their Sharingan Kekkei Genkai; this attribute is commonly identified as a technique, or series thereof, referred to as "Genjutsu: Sharingan". Genjutsu: Sharingan may be cast by simply establishing eye contact with their intended victim, thereby locking that target within an illusion whose purpose may be adapted to fit the user's needs at that time. In fact, illusions dreamed forth by Genjutsu: Sharingan do not have any established form and may vary wildly from user to user, though they are known for achieving results from binding a target in place to extracting information from an individual- and in some cases, it may even be utilized to remove a previously cast Genjutsu upon another. No matter its versatility in form and function, Genjutsu: Sharingan is primary reason that many shinobi are advised to avoid combat with Uchiha clansmen unless they have a superior number, and even then they are advised never to look an Uchiha in the eyes. 7. So far, the game-show that he had been… ‘volunteered’ for was at least entertaining. Between various shows of knowledge, social finesse, and finally drinking- Saki would have even go so far as to say that he was having a good time all around. One by one, he had knocked out his completing bachelors, though he had been taken perhaps a bit more by the desire to ‘win’ than any actual eye on the prize. That is… not that there was much of a prize for him to win. After all, Uchiha Saki was the prize, right? As the show would edge toward its conclusion, Saki found himself in an arena- facing down the daring beauty that had summoned him to this silly ordeal in the first place. He shook his head slowly, lifting a languid hand to stroke at his furrowing brow. “You know, if you wanted to see me flex- all you had to do was ask, right?” he teased his host with an impish little smile, “... but I guess since you’ve gone through all of this trouble to make it happen, I might as well show you just what kind of mess that you’ll be getting yourself into. And don’t you fret, it’ll be quite messy by the time we’re through!” Saki’s grin did widen as he filled his eyes with the flowering pattern of his Mangekyo Sharingan. Already, he attempted to trap his suitor within the Sharingan’s hypnotic gaze. The target of this genjutsu may utilize the revealed technique as though they met all prerequisites of that technique. In this technique's Cost, X is equal to the Base Cost of the revealed technique and may never be less than 100; if a selected technique would cost less than 100 Base Cost, this technique treats it as if it had a base cost of 100. He turned to look toward Uta and pushed himself off the wall’s face, surging downward toward the Investigator with Kōkai held high overhead. Behind it, a trail of distinctive white light followed; if Uta was capable of reading chakra, he would quickly realize that Tagayasu’s naturally adaptive chakra flow had concentrated almost entirely within that blade. And when the Hatake reached his opponent… his downward attack was less of a slash and more of an meteoric impact as it channeled its excessive energy toward Uta’s body and into the ground below, cratering it with a thunderous crack. If that single strike were not enough, Tagayasu wasted little time in following through with a second chakra-saturated slash, this time instead with the white-bladed Manzoku. It was his goal to see the Inspector thoroughly ruined by this combination attack. ⟐ Response Phase ⟐ Dodge Roll: 54 - Success! ⟐ Setup Phase ⟐ White Light Chakra Upkeep, -1% Total Chakra ⟐ Main Phase 1 ⟐ Tagayasu attacks Uta once with WHITE LIGHT FALLING STAR used via REGRET & SATISFACTION, spending REGRET's White Light stats-- ⟐ Twin Strike | -2 | Effect: This skill may be activated in the Main Phase as a Free Action any time the user is equipped with two weapons of the same type. 17. Tagayasu groaned loudly at his association with ‘criminal scum’. Sure, what he was doing here was technically illegal- what with it being murder and all… but it wasn’t just murder. It was war! This Investigator was part of the problem- the corrupted system that had allowed his friends and family to be ground beneath the heel of crime ripe within their city. But… how hopelessly naive the man was! To think that Tagayasu was here for something as simple as his life-- no! Uta was a minor piece in the incredible machine that pushed this city to its current extremes, he was little more than a man in the way. He was little more than a man in the wrong place at the wrong time. The silver-haired Hatake rolled quickly out of the way of Uta’s concussive wave, though he found several shards of glass tearing through his clothing as a consequence. With gritted teeth, he rose again to his feet and charged forward to draw several bleeding lines across Uta’s frame. They were beyond words now- only violence could solve the fundamental differences between them. ⟐ Response Phase ⟐ Dodge Roll: 52 - Success! ⟐ Setup Phase ⟐ White Light Chakra Upkeep, -1% Total Chakra ⟐ Main Phase ⟐ Tagayasu attacks Uta once with REGRET and once with SATISFACTION Regret Attack Response Phase Jutsu vs this weapon have an additional 1% Chance to Fail! 18. Saki’s vision immediately jerked away from her sketch as the voice of another filled her attention. She dropped both pencil and notebook onto the forest floor below and jumped to her feet, adopting a combat stance. She didn’t recognize the individual before her, prompting a large scowl to spread across her features. Of course it had not been her imagination-- of course someone had come to interrupt her precious drawing time. Didn’t they know what kind of a priceless experience this was, to draw such a curiously majestic creature in its natural habitats? Still, there wasn’t much to be done about it save to dispatch this foe and resume… assuming she ever managed to find the gorillas again. Who would have thought that something so cumbersome in form could be so, well, stealthy? “Aw, hell. You done went and messed up my drawing sesh, ya know? Nothing personal, champ, but I’m gunna have to beat you up and get back to it!” her voice was rather upbeat for the threat that she was making, likely due to the girl’s innate enjoyment of battle itself. Her eyes flooded with the triple-tomoe red hues of her Sharingan. Saki’s fingers then flew together to weave the telling hand-seal of the Kage Bunshin technique, causing a plume of smoke to erupt around her and reveal two replicas of herself. ✬ Response Phase ✬ -- ✬ Setup Phase ✬ Mitsudomoe Sharingan Activated! -5% Total Chakra New Stats: Ninjutsu: 350 Defense: 210 (490) Taijutsu: 100 Genjutsu: 100 Concentration: 470 Speed: 1260 Accuracy: 955 (995) Evasion: 1105 (1185) ✬ Main Phase ✬ Used Kage Bunshin no Jutsu - 2 Clones Made! 19. Mentors, Friends, Family- all gone in the echo of a thunderclap. Major City had been the home of Hatake Tagayasu for as long as he could recall; it had never been a perfect place, but it neither had never been quite so terrible. Criminal elements slowly seeped into their communities like a mold passing through the damp cracks in their untreated walls, spreading through the city in a wave of crime the likes of which had never been seen before. The official response was slow to come, but when it did? It was more severe than anyone could have hoped for and, for a fleeting second, it had worked. Until the backlash came. Criminals grew incensed by the communal outrage, blaming the sudden loss in their money and comrades on the citizens that had called for public action… and then the war began. It was a battle that waged through each home, seeing blood filling basins where dishes had once been washed- beds became a thing of ultimate finality, seeing so many of their owners slain within the few winks of sleep that they thought had been afforded. Major City’s response was… totalitarian and served only to exacerbate the war upon their populace. Gangs became indistinguishable from common folk and… everyone was punished. Citizens arrested for being too slow returning home, brought low by paranoid officers frightful that the grocery bags in hand were filled with dangerous explosive tags. In the shadow of a moment, everything that Hatake Tagaysu had known to be good and right in the world had been stripped away from him. He was pushed from the city, forced to live beyond- to foster resentment within his heart like a dear child. Criminals, Police, it did not matter to him- they all were to blame for what had befallen Major City. No longer would he stand apart from the city’s cascading lights, no longer would he allow these gross injustices to stand. The people had no voice, no strong fists to strike back against those pushing them into a false order. He was that fist, the shimmering blade that would cut free the strings binding his people into a dance with no tune. It was to the great misfortune of one ‘Officer’ Uta to have spotted the false image cast by Tagayasu- a trap set for the first one to attempt an apprehension for the simple act of being out too late. Reasonable force? the notion nearly brought a bitter laugh to Tagayasu’s expression. He dropped from a rooftop behind Uta, bringing his yin-yang paired blades to bear-- the final gifts of his deceased teacher. The ‘black haired man’ disappeared in a sudden burst of smile, having been little more than a clone. “Your investigation will bear no fruit, Oppressor. Your kind has failed Major City, and like a malignant cancer, I will cut your toxicity free!” It was all the warning that Uta would receive before Tagayasu dashed forward and brought both blades forward to draw a bloody 'X' across the Investigator's Chest.
