-Clothing: Gattsu wears a green one-piece jumpsuit with short sleeves and pant legs, and black double stripes that run vertically along the outer sides of the piece. His outfit is accessorized by a white sash around his waist, and an open orange denim vest with frayed sleeves and round steel buttons. His hands and forearms are wrapped in white bandages, as well as his legs below the knees. His shoes are standard-issue black shinobi sandals.

-Physical Description: Gattsu may be average in stature, but his small frame is sturdy and boasts a set of lean and toned muscles not often seen in boys his age. His thick, glossy hair is cut short at the nape of his neck, and would be considered a bowl cut if it wasn't stubbornly combed into a side-parted style that gives his bangs a flippant curl. His eyes are dark, intense, and eager, crowned by a set of thick brows that easily mark his heritage. Gattsu's smile is brilliant and sincere, and lights up his face whenever he wears it. A patchwork of scars can be seen on the boys knees and elbows, presumably from the intense training that those in his clan are brought up to perform, although the case is just as likely that he got them from perfectly normal, childhood outdoor activities.

~Persona~

 

Personality:

    Gattsu, like his name implies, is a very gutsy kind of kid. He works hard, and tends to act tougher than he is. The words "fake it til you make it" strongly apply to him, and whenever he isn't sure he can do something, he has a knack for putting on a confident attitude and going for it anyway. While he isn't afraid of failure, he gets easily flustered if he does so in front of a bunch of onlookers, and so he tries his best to make sure that doesn't happen. In the event of public failure, Gattsu will retreat and train intensively, shutting out everyone but his teachers, so as not to repeat his mistake.

    Gattsu is a boy who is full of energy and vitality, a trait that often brings him some amount of attention (good or bad, who's to say). Lack of physical activity is detrimental to his mental health, and he finds that he has a lot more trouble focusing if he's been made to sit still for too long. Thankfully, he usually gets plenty of opportunity to move around between lectures at the Academy, so it isn't too much of an issue.

    In terms of friendship, Gattsu displays a positive attitude and a willingness to support his peers, whether or not the others particularly like him. While generally slow to anger, when dealing with people with snobbish or superior attitudes, the boy can be a bit of a hair trigger. Whenever he feels his blood start to boil, Gattsu tries to channel his anger into energy for training instead of lashing out at the person responsible, as he's been taught to do by his parents. However, this strategy doesn't always work as he's still developing his self-control, and he's been known to get into a few fist fights over the wrong words being spoken.

 

Likes:

    Gattsu feels happiest when he gets to train in the dojo alongside his family members. He also enjoys all manner of competitive activities such as running races, arm wrestling, and any other silly contest you can think of. If you challenge him to ANYTHING, you can bet he'll be there with guns blazing.

    One of his favorite group activities is going down to a lake or river, especially in summertime. Gattsu loves swimming, splashing, water wrestling, and pushing people into the lake when they aren't watching their backs!

 

Dislikes:

    This goes without saying by now, but Gattsu hates being cooped up indoors. This includes classroom lectures at the Academy - he's much more interested in taijutsu than all of the academic work he's made to do. He also hates bitter tea, and he doesn't really care for sweets. While he does like going to the water to play, he does not enjoy fishing. Patience is really not one of his virtues, and it shows.

History:

    Gattsu was born in late Spring of 2104, right into the Lee clan. From the moment of his birth, he was surrounded by passionate, boisterous, forever-youthful individuals and... well, the attitude rubbed off on him.

    While the rest of the world was undergoing various trials and tribulations, to Gattsu, the world revolved around him and his close-knit family unit. When he was only three years old, the invasions of the Kumogakure Empire shook the land, though he was too young to remember anything. To him, all that existed were his parents, aunts and uncles, and the world was safe and happy. They made it that way.

    Like most of his clan, it was apparent as soon as Gattsu was enrolled in the Academy that he had very little aptitude for Ninjutsu. This came as no surprise, of course, and he, like generations of Lees before him, took to Taijutsu training with all his being, like a fish to water. Now he is on track to becoming a shinobi, and if he puts in enough effort, maybe he can even become legendary! Like... the legendary Rock Lee!

The user may at any time spend a Lotus Charge to reduce the cost of a Lotus style technique by 5x% and raise its base damage by 10x% rounded down, with x being equal to the amount of charges spent. However, the user will also take 5x% of the base damage of the technique as a repercussion.

        2. The user may perform a technique that requires the use of Lotus Charges.

This skill may only be taken at character creation. Characters with this skill begin play at the rank of Academy Student, which is considered to be below the rank of Gennin. Academy Students begin play at level U4 and begin with 100 Stat Points, 2 Jutsu Points and 1 Skill Point. Level progression proceeds as follows: U4, U3, U2, U1, 0. As they progress an Academy Student gains one (1) Jutsu Point at level U3 and U1 and one (1) Skill Point at level U2. Progression between levels U4 and 0 requires 200 Experience per level. Upon reaching level 0, the Academy Student must pass an exam to become a Genin. Upon completion of the exam they receive an additional 1 SP and 2 JP as a rank bonus. Academy Students may not train by themselves for experience, and may not purchase techniques above their rank. Levels and ranks gained by this skill do not count toward any other effect. Jutsu of the Academy rank have a maximum CP of 40, and utilize a 3:2 ratio when determining chakra and stamina costs. Academy Students may begin play with 1 additional free Academy Technique of their creation. Basic Path skills may not be taken until reaching level 0. If a character starts with enough TXP to make them level 0 or higher, they must still complete their exam to become Genin, even if it is retroactive in their past.

Description: The user tries to imitate the Drunken Fist style, albeit very poorly and without actually being drunk. The effect is that they end up looking so ridiculous that their opponent can't help but stop and stare...

Body Replacement Technique | Kawarimi no Jutsu

Type: Ninjutsu

Effect: This technique may be performed as a Free Action in the Response Phase following a failed dodge roll. When determining the cost of this technique "x" is equivalent to the cost of 1 basic attack or small weapon attack that the user failed to dodge. The damage and effects of that basic attack or small weapon attack are negated. The user may take no action in the Setup Phase or Main Phase on the turn this technique is used. This technique has a 5% chance to fail. This technique may be performed 1 time per battle.

Description: A life-saving technique for most young shinobi, the Body Replacement Jutsu has been a staple in academy learning for many years. By utilizing their ability to manipulate chakra, with quick movement, a skillful shinobi is capable of switching their position with another object to evade damage. By creating a simple optical illusion, the user of the Kawarimi no Jutsu can make it appear as though they were damaged or even killed by the opponent's attack. Some ninja become extremely adept in the usage of this technique, and have even been known to swap places with hazardous materials to trap their enemies.

Clone Technique | Bunshin no Jutsu

Type: Ninjutsu

Rank: Academy Student

Cost: 5x Chakra

Effect: This technique may be used in the Setup Phase or Main Phase. When determining the cost of this technique "x" is considered to be the number of "Clones" created by the user and may never be greater than 2. "Clones" have 1 Health and 1% of the user's other statistics. "Clones" are not physical, and may not use items, techniques or attack during their turn. The user of this technique gains +20 Evasion or +20 Accuracy for every "Clone" on the battlefield. The effects of 'Clones' may be ignored by any character with heightened senses (i.e; Byakugan, Path of the Sensor, Inuzuka Smell Tracker, etc). This technique may be used in the Setup Phase 1 time per battle.

Description: A technique that most students are required to be proficient in before they can graduate from the academy, the Bunshin no Jutsu is the most basic of the myriad of clone techniques that exist in the world. By properly molding their chakra, the user is capable of creating near perfect replicas of themselves. Unlike most bunshinjutsu, the basic clone technique does not produce physical clones but creates something more akin to a projected image, which is a real image that has no form. The Clone Technique is considered an E-Ranked jutsu, and is not very powerful, but with practice and ingenuity many shinobi have come to use it in masterful ways. Most often stalling by hiding out among their clones, or setting themselves up for a strong offensive.

Transformation Technique | Henge no Jutsu

Type: Ninjutsu

Rank: Academy Student

Cost: 10 Chakra

Effect: During any situation in which a character with this technique would need to calculate their "Visibility Score", they may use this technique to reduce their "Visibility Score" by -10%. "Visibility Score" reduction caused by this technique may be ignored by any character with heightened senses (i.e; Byakugan, Path of the Sensor, Inuzuka Smell Tracker, etc).

Description: The Transformation Technique is a time-honored staple of nearly every shinobi academy the world over. Its concept and execution are both extremely basic, making it a perfect training technique for young students. By molding chakra around their body, the user of the Transformation Jutsu is able to temporarily take on the physical characteristics of another person. Though the Henge no Jutsu rarely offers a perfect disguise, clever ninja have been using it for hundreds of years to confound their foes.
