Major Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 (edited) Since the bloodline was changed, putting these back up for submission and use... New bloodline: here Enhanced Capillaries Bloodline: Shuukaku Effect: The Harvester is resistant to bleed effects, reducing damage done by bleed effects by 15% for the first two ranks, and 20% for the third. Description: What the Shuukaku clan lacks in muscle they make up for in their mutated vein system. As their tendril system grows in strength, the veins become resilient to damage, even to the point where it becomes almost impossible to puncture one of the structures. Even if a wound is inflicted the veins will quickly pinch closed at the point of severance, preventing any blood loss. Cost: -1 per rank, must be chuunin for second rank and jounin for third rank, up to a maximum of three ranks. Tendril Release Mastery Bloodline: Shuukaku Effect: Once per rank in this skill, a Shuukaku may treat their basic attack or tendril taijutsu as an AoE attack, as long as they pay the increased cost. Triple the cost will still hit allies, but quadruple the cost will avoid it. Description: With constant use of their enlarged circulatory system in their attacks, it becomes somewhat of a second nature to use them. This increases the range of their ability to focus in battle on more than one enemy, launching multiple attacks at once without losing their accuracy. Ranks: 3 Cost: -2 per rank, must be chuunin for second rank, and jounin for third rank, up to a maximum of three ranks. Edited September 22, 2011 by Major
Major Posted September 19, 2011 Author Posted September 19, 2011 Please look at this. I would like to be back up to full strength for the exams.
Rhap Sodos Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 (edited) The issues I currently have with these skills [alongside the actual bloodline and other skills] is at the core, the Bloodline is supposed to be about harvesting hearts, and using your tendrils to attack. The "core" bloodline lets you handle Elemental Specialities, and allows the character to use tendrils as weapons with full Tai Modifiers. And then you want a skill that would increase the characters Speed. And it's immune to Bleed, and it gets a Tai bonus for Defense, and do AoE damage with basic attacks. But these "Supplemental" skills, or additional skills, are changing the direction of the bloodline to kind of all over the place. "Enhanced Capillaries" and "Tendril Release Mastery" make sense to me, because it ties back into what was posted as the core of the bloodline. But even if you can logic it, getting the Tai bonus for Defense, or having increased Speed, just sounds tacked on. I don't think they're broke, I just don't see how they fit into the context of the bloodline other then "tendrils did it". Edited September 19, 2011 by Rhap Sodos
Hardcore Skittlez Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 First; I dislike a skill making someone entirely immune to certain types of damage(such as burn/bleed/poison) unless they were a Kaguya. Personally, I'd prefer to see just a bleed resistance that increased with 3 ranks, each rank costing -1. My suggestion would be 15% damage reduction per rank, but that ranks would have Shinobi-rank requirements. (genin, chuunin, jounin, etc) Second; I REALLY dislike this one, because it would throw the standard "intervals of 10/20" distribution of stat points all out of whack, which means that you could have very uneven stats(that would, in turn, potentially encourage someone else down the road to change another stats' base:mod ratio to compensate, and further throw the clan into the "wtf is happening" hole). Personally, I would prefer to see this as a skill that only affects things at the Mod level. That is, perhaps it could do 20(def):6(mod), or even 20:7, something like that. Or, it could increase the defense modifier by a flat 10/15%. Something like that would be preferable to messing with the base stats. Third; -2 to make an aoe attack that follows the cost rules? This one seems okay. I'd like to see ninja-rank restrictions, though.
Major Posted September 19, 2011 Author Posted September 19, 2011 Took all of your input into consideration, and changed everything accordingly, I agree with everything you've said. I just figured that since they were approved before, I'd try to get them in again. No problem here.
