Why are you allowing for techniques and skills to be added after the event starts? OOC Answer: Because Staff has been a little slow on getting stuff approved because of system updates and other real life interference (moving, jobs, finals) and it's not fair to punish you guys for it. IC Answer: Because we designed it so players participate in one match a day and it does make sense for you to be able to devise techniques or skills in between bouts. Don't meta-game it. I will flat out deny any technique that you post between now and a match that is specifically designed to counter an opponent. Anything prior to this post is fair game. Why can't we level during the tournament? This would start skewing the tournament pretty fast as some players will gain decent EXP and Money chunks from winning, and others not so much. It also interferes with our ability to design side events if players levels (and of course, available JP and SP) start fluctuating too much. If I am in another thread, can I still participate? Depends. The Arrakis Ninja Arts Tournament is classified as a ‘side location’. As long as it doesn’t disrupt the timeline of your other thread you will be able to participate. Please remember: Your GM has final say on whether or not you are allowed to be elsewhere. Some specific instances: You will not be able to advance in rank until your timelines sync up again. You will not be able to have any major physiology changes (loss of limb, drastic scarring) until your timelines sync up again. You will not be able to have any drastic changes to your characters personality or character history until your timelines sync up again. This means if you are in a plot-intensive thread, you may not be able to participate until it finishes (again, refer to your GM) I have a character who I want to have participate, but there aren’t any other characters at my level. Does that mean I cannot compete? No. In the event you want your character to participate in battles and there is no other PC within an approximate level range to compete against, staff will create a NPC for you to compete against. A handful of us who are in Arrakis currently have been wrapped up in training thread(or a battle, in the case of KC- unrelated to the tournament itself.) Those of us who have been training have gained levels already, and have applied them to our sheets- which I assume is fine, since we haven't actually battled anyone yet, and not everyone has arrived yet. So, my question is... ... Since we're allowed to challenge people to one on ones or group battles <before> the bracket events, are we allowed to add the levels and whatnot we'd gain from those individual challenges, as long as it's before a bracket even starts? Or, once we start battling, does that lock us into whatever level we are at the time of our first battle(until the even is over)? Quote

I.E. can I see a match in a newspaper that's coming up and place a bet on it at some local office or something? Are there restrictions on how much money or what kind of items we can bet?
