Bird Masked Assassin

Komochizuki-kumi | Round 2

The dimly lit streets of konohagakure were relatively silent minus the bundles of leaves blowing around the streets and alleyways, Hyuga takeshi was on his way back to his apartment after just returning from the latest expedition to the land of the demons for an intel gathering operation. Being that he was a hyuga, the assassin that had been tailing him for some time now had to assume at one point during his walk home his target would have his byakugan active, hyuga being known for their almost perfect vision would present Tsubasa with an interesting challenge with his latest hit. Keeping to the shadows, Tsubasa kept on his target, who didnt seem to be straying from their usual body language or gestures he noticed upon his initial surveillance while he was away on his latest task; Tsubasa liked to be a prepared hitman. Weaving the necessary seals for the particular instance strobe style technique he had in mind for this job, he launched the first stage of his attack, letting his illusion grip hold of the Hyuga shinobi, before he made his move and began the attacks, which would appear to Takeshi as if they were at near lightning speed fast.

[ Tsubasa's Theme Music ]

Tsubasa had been tailing his target for some time now, marking his route with a keen eye while staying within the crowd of the village. The task was one of importance, the Hyuuga man was someone who would prove quite problematic in the future if left unchecked. Tsubasa had tried a diplomatic route, to have the man sent on a mission to a far away land by manipulating incoming information to the village. His role as a scout gave him this advantage, feeding specific information not only through his own channel, but to others that gathered for the village. His knowledge let him plant hints and ideas that would eventually lead back to the village leaders, crafting a mission that would need a Hyuuga to achieve. There had been risk of failure, of another ninja being chosen, but the pieces had fallen together and the man had gone to the Land of Demons. Unfortunately, the second part of the plan, in which a hired thug set fire to the ship he traveled upon in the night, failed. The ship took on water, but was saved by a passing vessel in the night. A stroke of luck which kept the Hyuuga from drowning in the ocean with the boat's other occupants. But now time was short, and he must take action of his own accord.

Leather Eye Patch
Body Placement: Head
Attributes: +80 Concentration; Endō Tsubasa Only. Can be used to cover Harō Kouka, takes one Setup Phase to do.
Description: A new leather eye patch colored black that Tsubasa got along his travels. At a point in his life he acknowledged that the eye patch was going to be a permanent part of him and he figured that a medical bandage made him look too weak for most normal situations. This new eye patch is finely crafted, made specifically for Tsubasa's head and cut well enough that it actually accents his attire rather than being an unsightly blemish on his otherwise finely curated appearance.

Jounin Vest
Body Placement: Chest
Attributes: +80 Defense, +80 Evasion. +225 Weapon Slots.
Description: An over-vest worn by Shinobi of the Jounin rank. The vest itself is a unsaturated green that works great for camouflage. The Konohagakure no Sato crest is emblazoned on the chest along with the traditional red swirl on the small of the back. Scroll and other holster adorn the chest.

Focus Badge
Body Placement: Anywhere

Attributes: +20 Concentration.
Description: A small circular badge of a white color, emitting a small trace of chakra that stimulates the brain to focus harder but remains at ease. The badge has a small inscribed symbol of Kumogakure on it.

Orichalcum Bands
Body Placement: Forearms
Attributes: +140 Speed, +10 Defense
Description: The metal Orichalcum is a special alloy of copper that is known for its properties when in contact with Chakra. The metal, whose name means 'mountain copper' for its area of discovery and origin, amplifies the user's Chakra usage when worn on a place near their core. The arm bands are specifically constructed to be attacked high up on the arm and worn under normal clothing, concealing it from normal view and preventing it from hindering movement.

As Takeshi moved away from the main street, down an alley that Tsubasa knew lead towards his home, the charcoal haired man followed, moving into another alley that would connect with Takeshi's. From his cloak he slid out a mask and donned it over his face, hiding his features. An operation like this within the village was insanity, but it was exactly why it would work. There was no reason to suspect an attack in his home village, and it was the only time Tsubasa could be sure he wouldn't have the Byakugan active to see his approach. With a quick seal Tsubasa would create two clones, shifting away from him as they moved towards the end of the alley. Tsubasa himself jumped upwards, hiding in the rooftops as he waited.

Bunshin no Jutsu | Clone Technique
Type: Ninjutsu
Rank: Academy Student
Cost: 5x Chakra
Effects: This technique may be used in the Setup Phase or Main Phase. When determining the cost of this technique 'x' is considered to be the number of 'Clones' created by the user and may never be greater than 2. 'Clones' have 1 Health and 1% of the user's other statistics. 'Clones' are not physical, and may not use items, techniques or attack during their turn. The user of this technique gains +20 Evasion or +20 Accuracy for every 'Clone' on the battlefield. The effects of 'Clones' may be ignored by any character with heightened senses (i.e; Byakugan, Path of the Sensor, Inuzuka Smell Tracker, etc). This technique may be used in the Setup Phase 1 time per battle.
Description: A technique that most students are required to be proficient in before they can graduate from the academy, the Bunshin no Jutsu is the most basic of the myriad of clone techniques that exist in the world. By properly molding their chakra, the user is capable of creating near perfect replicas of themselves. Unlike most bunshinjutsu, the basic clone technique does not produce physical clones but creates something more akin to a projected image, which is a real image that has no form. The Clone Technique is considered an E-Ranked jutsu, and is not very powerful, but with practice and ingenuity many shinobi have come to use it in masterful ways. Most often stalling by hiding out among their clones, or setting themselves up for a strong offensive.

- All ninja, within a battle, must reveal their current Stamina amount in their Loss Tag to the user. If there are more than two people in the battle, each player must send a personal message to the user of this skill with their current Stamina amount. The revealed amount is the Stamina the character has at the end of their turn. Only attainable through the 'Path of the Sensor' option.

The attack would take time, Takeshi lived away from the main street. A battle between the two would not last long, maybe only a few minutes. At this time of night in this area of the village he should be able to strike and leave before anyone arrived. As Takeshi arrived at a small opening near his home, one of the bird masked clones would walk out of an alley in front of him, cutting him off. The clone said nothing, but up above the real Tsubasa was preparing for the fight. In the moment of distraction he would launch his full attack.

Limit Release; Mind's Eye | Nogareruton; Seishin no Me | 限遁•精神の眼

Type: Genjutsu
Rank: Sennin
Cost: 190 Chakra
Effects: The target is granted 'Haste' for three (3) turns. In addition, the target gains a Shield with 170 Health for four (4) turns. The Shield created by this jutsu may only be granted two (2) times per battle.
Description: Similar to how 'Hachimon' releases the capabilities of the body by unlocking its built in restraints, Seishin no Me is a mental ability to trick the mind into exceeding its normal limits for a short burst of time. Though this skill lacks the power of the actual 'Hachimon' on which it is based, it is considered to be much safer due to its limited time and power. In addition to faster movement of body, the ninja is able to process information much more quickly than normal which gives them an advantage against incoming attacks as well. Though this premonition is limited, it is thought to be quite powerful when put in the right hands.

The Hyuuga recently arrived from his latest mission, which had seemed to had gone smoothly up until the point where he had begun to return. The Shinobi never did have luck with ships, as they tend to sink with his presence being aboard. And even though he was now back on land on his way back to his home Takeshi couldn't shake the feeling that the ship going down was the least of his worries, as though something fierce was heading his way way, or already here. As he began to exit the alleyway he was cut off by several figures. "Well, theres that bad feeling I was having."   He was tired, and in no mood for a couple of muggers to stand between him and his bed. "Just a warning, this is a big mistake." he said wearily before activating his Byakugan, though he doubted he needed it. That was at least until it revealed to me that what was standing before him was the most basic of clone techniques, surprising him. "Bunshins? So I'm dealing with a fellow ninja...but where is the rea—" He could see all around him but he couldn't help but turn his head in the direction he spotted the figure standing on the rooftops in the shadows. "How about you save me the trouble of  coming up there and formally introduce yourself."

Byakugan Vision - Rank [ 3 ]
Effect: While the Byakugan is active, a character with this skill’s Accuracy, and Evasion are increased by 1.5x per rank in this skill, with ‘x’ being equivalent to the wielder’s level. The value of ‘x’ may never be less than 'y', where 'y' is equivalent to 20 + 10 for each rank of this skill, beyond the first. All statistical bonuses provided by this skill may not exceed 1.5x the base value of the individual statistics. Bonuses to Evasion are nullified when the wielder is targeted by an opponent whose Accuracy statistic is 1.5x greater than the wielder’s Evasion Statistic.
Description: The Byakugan's 360 degree circle of penetrating vision grants those blessed with the bloodline a heightened sense of the world, and with it they are able to perform feets of amazing accuracy and agility. In it's initial stage, the Byakugan's vision is at its weakest, but still provides much more clarity than the average person's sight. This power grows with the wielder though, and through training and experience, the vision of the Byakugan soon becomes so acute as to allow the wielder to see impossibly far and with astounding visual clarity.

As Toushiro looked up at the man he would notice that unlike his clones, this man had two bright azure eyes behind his mask. Tsubasa had already removed the cover underneath the mask in preparation, and in the darkness of night his azure blue eye would almost glow with a pulsing light as the white halo around his pupil fluxed with power. His eyesight, while not as powerful as the Byakugan, did afford him a supernatural sight. The world was splintered by a thousand hairline fractures, all things splitting with these lines that only he could see. The world was a massive complex puzzle and Tsubasa was the only one destined to break all the pieces apart.

There is no longer any cap to the bonus from Rank 3 outside of the Activated Effect maximum for Critical Strike abilities. 'Halo' pulses with a white light that dances around the iris.

Tsubasa would pulse out a blast of chakra towards his opponent, attempting to trap him within his Genjutsu. If successful he would launch his secondary attack, disappearing in the blink of an eye from the rooftop and appearing underneath Toushiro. The movement was unreal, and something that would likely cause the Hyuuga shock as it was beyond any speed he had seen before. Tsubasa had just appeared right in front of the man. There was no time to process it now though, because if the attack had hit Tsubasa would be following through with his assault.

Spoiler

• Vanishing Style; Crescent Kick | Shyōryu; Mikadukigata Keru | 消遁•三日月蹴
Type: Taijutsu & Genjutsu [Vanishing Style | Endō Tsubasa]
Rank: Jounin
Cost: 95 Stamina & 95 Chakra
Effects: When this technique is preformed the user chooses "Inner" or "Outer".

• Inner Kick: 380 Damage.
• Outer Kick: 210 Damage. The target is afflicted with 'Slow' for two (2) turns and 'Fazed'.

Description: Using the Shyōryu, Tsubasa will cause the opponent to have a momentary paralysis of the body and mind, giving them the illusion that time skipped ahead a few seconds. Within this time, Tsubasa preforms a specialized kick technique he learned while training with the monks of the Bak Mei monastery. There are two variations of to this kick technique; the outer crescent and the inner crescent. The outer crescent raises the extended leg as high as possible and slightly up across the body, a bit across their center line, before sweeping outward to the side, in a circular movement. The inner crescent, the motions are the same but the direction of the kick changes, this time originating from the outside of the body, heading towards the inside, or center line of the body. When the opponent comes to, it gives the illusion to that Tsubasa teleported right up to them, catching them with the kick attack before they could even register that he was there. Due to the nature of the style it can become very unsettling when the opponent believes they are fighting an enemy that can teleport at will. The confusion and panic caused by the techniques of this style are an advantage that Tsubasa uses to defeat those that stand against him.

Fail Chance: Success

[Response Phase]

Takeshi could see the power brimming from his enemies eyes, but he wasn't particularly familiar with it. Still, it was enough to make the Hyuuga feel threatened but its presence, and for good reason. It had only taken a moment for him to find his foe standing before him in a burst of speed that even with his Byakugan made him flustered momentarily. He didn't even have time to think as Tsubasa began to make his attack on the shinobi, but in a moment of pure instinct he had formed chakra into the form of his hands before surrounding himself in arcs of chakra. While the Kaiten was far more definitive, the Shugohakke Rokuyuon Sho was a proved to be more versatile in slowing down the kick enough to minimize its force, sending Takeshi a few paces back.

Rank: Chūnin
Cost: 70 Stamina; 70 Chakra
Damage: 100
Effect: The technique may be performed in the Main Phase or the Response Phase.

Response: This technique reduces the damage of an unresolved physical attack targeting the user by the amount of base damage that it deals. If 100% of the unresolved attack’s total damage is negated by this technique, all effects of the attack are also negated. The user of this technique gains 1 ‘Trigram Charge’ when this technique is used. This technique has a 10% chance to fail. This technique may be used in the Response Phase 2 times per battle.

[Main Phase]

Takeshi had a threat on his hands for sure, and had no desire to see his foe get another chance  opportunity to bring him down with such an attack and so, it was his turn to go on the offensive. Taking stance the Hyuuga pounced forward, aiming to disrupt Tsubasa's chakra network. Without his ability to perform any super human feats everything should wrap up nicely.

• Jūken; Tenketsushin | Gentle Fist; Pressure Point Needle | 柔拳・点穴針
Type: Taijutsu [Jūken | Hijutsu; Hyūga | Dōjutsu; Byakugan]
Rank: Chūnin
Cost: 50 Stamina; 50 Chakra; 1 Trigram Charge
Damage: 30
Effect: When performing this technique, the user must choose between the status effects ‘Quarantine; Ninjutsu’, ‘Quarantine; Genjutsu’, or ‘Quarantine; Taijutsu’. The target of this technique is afflicted with 3 turns of the chosen status effect. The user of this technique may elect to spend 1 additional ‘Trigram Charge’ when performing this technique to instead afflict the target with 3 turns worth of any combination of those status effects. (i.e; 2 turns of Quarantine; Ninjutsu and 1 turn of Quarantine; Taijutsu. Applied at the same time.)
Description: The Tenketsu Needle jutsu utilizes the Byakugan’s ability to see the inner workings of the body to target a single, specific point which will be the most hindering over the course of battle. This technique, while very old, has always been popular with the Hyūga clan. Jūken; Tenketsushin is, like most Gentle Fist attacks, performed by delivering a swift, finger jab to the targets body, and utilizing chakra to inflict internal damage. With skill, and practice a user can target individual regions of the body and tailor the effect to fit their opponent, shutting down their offensive capabilities and leaving them free from counter-attack.

The value of 'x' may never exceed 160. Additional damage dealt in this way is unmodified and is treated as part of the attack's base damage.

Description: As wielders of the Byakugan and a practitioners of the Gentle Fist fighting style, members of the Hyuga clan are able to enhance the damage dealt by their attacks while utilizing their clan's kekkei genkai. Byakugan Targeting - Rank [ -3]
Effect: While the Byakugan is active, all techniques used by a character with this skill have their critical strike range increased by +5% per rank in this skill. This skill does not effect targets whose Evasion statistic is 2x higher than the character's Accuracy statistic.
Description: The Hyūga clan prizes the Byakugan's ability to see into the enemy body, and was even the inspiration behind their hallmark, fighting style. This ability, allows a wielder to target the weaknesses within the body almost as naturally as breathing. Like many facets of the Byakugan's power, this ability takes much precision and honing to make it deadly, and only with experience is a wielder able to effectively pin-point and attack the weakest places on the human body.

Tsubasa had not been expecting to be rebuffed as he was. As he was pushed backwards by the Hyuuga he was able to land a square enough strike to break the man's footing and give him an opening, but the force of the blow had been no where near what he had hoped for. Sliding in a controlled manner back he would feel the next attack before he looked up to see it. He felt the chakra swelling in the air, the movement of the Hyuuga as he came forward with their distinctive style. It was like a bright light was coming at him, he could see even without his eyes. Without even raising his masked face Tsubasa would spin away, dodging the man's chakra palm strike easily, possibly causing the other man to wonder if behind the mask he also had a Byakugan. To dodge a powerful technique like that without sight was no small feet, but Tsubasa's whole goal in fights was to bewilder the opponent about his real level of abilities.

Spoiler

Aura Perception; Premonition [Rank 2]
- When targeted with an offensive Chakra-based attack, the user of this may roll 1d20. If they roll x or below, they may dodge the attack. This is done before a dodge roll. The value of x is equal to the rank in this skill obtained. Only attainable through the 'Path of the Sensor' option.

Shyōryu | Vanishing Style | 消遁
- Allows for the user of 'Vanishing Style' techniques. All 'Vanishing Style' techniques must be Genjutsu & Taijutsu hybrid and use Concentration instead of Accuracy or Evasion to hit. If an opponent was struck with a 'Vanishing Style' technique on the previous turn, the user gains +6x% chance to dodge for all physical attacks and +3x% chance to dodge all non-physical attacks from that opponent this turn, where x is the number of Vanishing Charges they currently have. If the user is hit by an attack during a turn when they have this bonus, they lose two (2) Vanishing Charges. When the user successfully hits an opponent with a 'Vanishing Style' technique, all characters within eyesight of the battle are under the same visual effects as the afflicted target. This final ability is for role play purposes only and cannot inflict any type of combat effects on those not hit with the original technique.

Tsubasa did not have time to deal with this carefully. He had to act before the Hyuuga gained the upper hand with his Byakugan. The other man was off balance from his last strike, now was the time. Tsubasa quick reached into his pouch, sliding a pill under his bird shaped mask and quickly swallowing it. He immediately felt the power of the drug wash over him, his muscles pulsing with power as it coursed through him.

H7ELv1g.png [Main Phase 1]

Tsubasa would send out a wave of chakra towards Toushiro, moving forward before it would even hit and go for a series of blows to know along his torso and inside arm. The series of strikes would disable his use of that arm partially, while also causing issues with his tenketsu. Ideally this would disable him for the kill, allowing Tsubasa to take his target out before he took to long and another Konoha ninja stumbled upon their fight.

Following the crescent kick, Tsubasa would turn and preforms a forward rush, attempting to grab Toushiro with all of his might and bringing his fist down onto him with a combination of bodily speed and strength. If successful, the Hyuuga would be smashed into the ground, creating cracks in the stone underneath from the force of the blow. All of this happened in the time between blinks as Tsubasa's genjutsu made it appear as if he was teleporting between each attack.

Vanishing Style; Might Gate | Shyōryu; Torii no Chikara | 消遁•鳥居の力

Type: Taijutsu & Genjutsu [Vanishing Style | Endō Tsubasa]

Rank: Sennin

Cost: 130 Stamina & 130 Chakra

Damage: 330

Effects: The target is afflicted with 'Clobbered' for two (2) turns, and 'Fazed'.

Description: Using the Shyōryu, Tsubasa will cause the opponent to have a momentary paralysis of the body and mind, giving them the illusion that time skipped ahead a few seconds. Within this time, Tsubasa preforms a series of strikes along the opponent's body, inflicting damage internally and wrecking havoc on their body. Movement causes the target to experience agony, internal organs taking direct strikes and causing expert maneuvers nearly impossible. Due to the nature of the style it can become very unsettling when the opponent believes they are fighting an enemy that can teleport at will. The confusion and panic caused by the techniques of this style are an advantage that Tsubasa uses to defeat those that stand against him.

Type: Taijutsu & Genjutsu [Vanishing Style | Endō Tsubasa]

Yeah, I don't even need to post my die roller results...wooooo.

So fast, so much power. Tsubasa was beyond anything the Hyuuga had come across on his own as he found himself falling, face first into the pavement below. His Byakugan's intensity faded as he lied their motionless on the ground, trying to will his body to move but to no avail. He wasn't going anywhere.

(You win sir. Grr.)
