Ninja Academy 8.4.1

So, here are the first bunch of batches of rules changes for Ninja Academy 8.0. We have put much thought into each of these, so please ask any questions if you have them. At the bottom of the post will be a link to the official Q&A thread, so make sure to check it out if you have questions!

Death Bonuses

All death bonuses will be removed from the game. Any character currently with a death bonus will receive a monetary reward for the adjustment and given the choice to refund their TXP for 100% to a new character if they so wish. A character that was already in possession of a death bonus may be known as a "prodigy", "genius" or "legendary" ninja, but they will get no statistical bonuses. Again, contact the staff if you have questions.

Removal of Speed

The speed stat is being removed from the game. Due to many problems with confusion as well as balancing issues, we have collectively decided that the best route for the game as a whole is to remove this stat and simplify to regular turn base. Because this is such a large change, a few of the following things will need to be done. This will likely effect all characters, especially if you have a heavy speed based character.

- All stats that are put into speed will be refunded and may be spent towards any other stat immediately.

- Any skills that references speed will be refunded and is considered unapproved as of this posting.

- Any jutsu that references speed must be resubmitted without a speed reference.

- All status effects that change speed will be removed from the game. A complete list of these status effects is...

- Cold (Hypothermia Stage 1), Deafened, Drowning, Ensnared, Frostbite (Hypothermia Stage 2), Frozen, Hamstrung, Haste, Hypothermic (Hypothermia Stage 3), Shackled [Leg], Shackled [Paired Legs], Slowed, Tired

- All terrain effects that change speed will be removed from the game. A complete list of these effects are...

- Marsh, Muddy Ground, Sand, Thick Mud/Deep Snow or Water

- Status Effects and Terrain removed from game may be reintroduced over the next few weeks with new effects, but will be repriced.

NPC Experience Bonuses

To encourage better and more active Gamemaster participation, we are allowing a Gamemaster to gain EXP for their PC characters through NPC activity. EXP gained will be on a word count basis and will be counted as if they are training for their maximum amount of EXP per line for the character they are GM'ing. This EXP can then be given to any of their characters.

Creation Approvals

Because of reduced staff activity and the massive amount of changes that are being done, all creations will need only one (1) approval from any staff. The buy/sell threads will need zero (0) approvals, but make sure to update your character sheets.

Time Skip

Most importantly, as the Chuunin Exams come to an end, we will be doing a five (5) year time skip. This will be more detailed in another post later this week, but I wanted to give a heads up to all players so they can start thinking of what their characters will be doing over this jump. One teaser detail I can announce is the skip rewards. All characters will gain 4,100 EXP for the skip as well as $41 multiplied by your character's level. For instance, a character who is level 100 will gain $4100 when the time skip happens. We are very excited for this, its time for NA's kids to take over the responsibility of the world!
