Clan Age and Status: The Butaitou clan is one of the oldest clans in Kusagakure no sato. In the old days, it was a feared clan, as it was said that their powers came from one of the tailed demons. But the Butaitou clan has lived relatively peacefully in the hidden village of the Grass for many generations. This have leaded to that they have become just another clan of that village, which have proved to be trustworthy.
Clan Bloodline: Etai no Manako (eyes of the nature)
Clan Element: The Butaitou clan haves an incredible affinity with all the elements. It's not uncommon to see a chuunin from this clan that can use at least three different elements.
Clan Emblem: Before the Kumo invasion, the Butaitou's clan emblem was a circle divided in five parts. Each part had a different colour (red, blue, brown, yellow and purple, representing fire, water, earth, wind and lightning respectively). But lately, this symbol haven't been seen anywhere, which have left a few of the habitants of Kusagakure asking themselves if this clan still exists.
Clan Info: There is a story that is still told in Kusagakure that comes from the time when this little village was first created. That story, or rather fairy tale, says that not many years after that the village of Kusagakure was created, they entered in a terrible war. The war turned to be a real bloodbath, and many lost their lives trying to protect their homes. As a last resource, Kusa had to use one of their secret weapon; a bijuu. The bijuu was an incredible demon beast with an unnatural amount of tails and an almost unstoppable power. The immense creature was able to save the village from their enemies, but soon the tailed demon turned to a problem itself, attacking and destroying everything that came in its way. To be able to stop this uncontrollable power, some of the most experienced elders of Kusa had to use a forbidden technique, sealing the monster inside of the body of a young child. Some of them lost their life, since such a technique is a double edged technique.
The story ends there. Whatever happened with the child that had the demon sealed inside of his body is unknown for the most of Kusas citizens nowadays. The child grew up and became a shinobi, despite that many feared him for what he had inside. But the most incredible with this boy was that as he grew, he started to manifest more and more of the powers that the tailed demon had had. The demon had been a master using all the different elements, and the boy learnt to use all five of them as well at a very young age. His power grew more and more, and the village of the Grass made use of this.
The only problem was that the boy started to loose control over himself more and more as well. The demon was taking over, and that was something that no one was really interesting in. Before it was too late, they extracted the demon and sealed it in a sacred jar. The tailed beast did not become a problem for the village until many years later, but that's a different story.
Normally, when you extract a tailed beast from a person, this person dies. But in some way that have been forgotten many centuries ago, this person survived. He lost most of his power, which had pertained to the Bijuu. But surprisingly, some of his power was still left. The boy, that had become a full grown man, knew how to use all the five different elements. Every time he used a different element, the color of his eyes changed. He had a great life, living as a shinobi and helping his village. The man got married, and had children. Surprisingly, his powers seemed to have been passed down to them as well. Some of the habitants seemed to be suspicious toward the man's family, as they knew where he had got his powers from.
Many centuries later, the Butaitou clan, which meant "child of the elements”, was a fully established clan. Very few, even inside of the clan, knew its true origins. They are nowadays a well known clan, which has mastered all the different basic elements. The Butaitou members are known for mastering a high amount of elements at a very young age, most of them being able to use at least two elements before they are thirteen.
Actually, their whereabouts are unknown. As soon as Kumo took control over Kusagakure no sato, all of them mysteriously disappeared, even from the villages documents. If they will return sometime soon is unknown as well.
