  1. Oh wow, school here is a lot tougher than I thought. Hence the fact that...I haven't been active at all lately, regardless of what the first post says. Give me a week or so and I'll get back into shape. First I have to get used to this place. And the assloads of homework. Sorry guys. ('Specially Warr!)
  2. fever gunner

    Fever

*rises from the dead!* Thanks, you guys. ;_; I'LL START POSTING AGAIN ONE OF THESE DAYS. *goes back into corner*
  3. Just moved into a new boarding school recently, so I've been busy getting used to the campus/dorm life/etc. And then classes are starting tomorrow, and apparently we get around 5 hours of homework a night... Activity is going to go down a lot, but I'll still be going for that post a day. (and working on those various chibi pics I owe.)
  4. Working on Warrusu, still. Real life has been busy as of late (I'm going to boarding school in a couple more days, so we've been busy packing and buying things and such), and my family's moving back to China so I've been spending a lot of time with them lately. Hopefully I'll get Warr's up soon though. Just found out my library has a scanner too Sorry about the delay in everything.
  5. Hi and welcome from the sortastillanoob! ...I have nothing to say about KH or music but I would like to say that I love the Bartimaeus Trilogy. *shifty*
  6. (Full version here) I gave it a try? ;_; And I need to find some better way of transition for half-bodies. edit: fshkgshgkhksghksghkg I just realized that the clan emblem is on the wrong side of his vest. I'll change it later. Should be good now.
  7. [Put all the chibis together into one picture, for those interested]. Also, I've decided that I will do the rest of the requested chibis (all...eleven...of them...). However, they will probably take me a lot longer since I'm not going to do the one-a-day thing any more. Regardless, everyone who's requested one so far will get one. And I am no longer taking any requests at all. Sorry guys. D:
  8. user data-- username: fever gunner posting: At least once a day. time zone: EST ---------- basics-- name: Umikoi Kin village: Kirigakure no Sato allegiance: Umikoi Clan clan: Umikoi age: Seventeen gender: Female ---------- appearance-- height: 165cm weight: 110lbs hair color: Dark auburn, often simply considered black, and reaches about halfway down her back when let down. Her hair is soft and thin, easily blown about by the wind, and grown out long. As a result, she pins up most of her hair in a single bun. Her bangs are grown out long, and curled up into two spirals on the left side of her head, held in place with sky-blue combs. On the right side, her bangs are not pinned up and are usually tucked behind her ear. eye color: As true to Umikoi eyes as possible -- pale cobalt, with a ring of midnight blue edging the irises. clothing: Though Kin is fond of pretty clothes, she avoids them as much as possible nowadays because they are impractical for her uses. She does not throw on whatever is available, though. Her choices are simple but definitely chosen, rather than picked at random. She likes darker colors, believing that they draw attention to her eyes. She usually wears a white long-sleeved shirt, with loose sleeves that can easily be rolled up. Likewise, her pants are also loose, black with deep pockets. Sometimes -- mostly when traveling -- she wears a cloak, usually one she grabs off her dad and is thus too big, patched, and worn. She always wears black fingerless gloves. This is due to the fact that when alone, with no one to see her, she has a bad habit of chewing on her gloves, or sleeve, or any other bit of clothing she can get at. Aside from the combs keeping her bangs in place, the only other accessory she wears is a necklace given to her as a child by her distant cousin, Warrusu. It consists of a simple piece of string attached to a fishing hook, which had caught in Warrusu's hand while he was giving it to her. She had blamed herself for the injury and cried, thinking Warrusu would hate her, but he had laughed it off and instead returned to her with the hook on a line in the form of a necklace, and the words 'No matter how much it seems like you don't, there's always somewhere and with someone you belong.' physical description: Kin seems to bear almost no resemblance to her mother at all. While her mother is tall, fair-skinned, flat-chested, and imposing, Kin is shorter, tanned, 'well-endowed' as she calls herself, and while elegant, far from imposing. On the other hand, Kin inherited much from her father, including beauty. She has large eyes and long lashes, full lips, and a small face. In fact, in terms of appearance, it would be near impossible to tell that Kin's father had married outside of the clan. Though Kin is not perpetually angry, that is usually the first impression anyone forms of her. The corners of her mouth are turned downwards just slightly, always, enough to give her a small frown. No one has yet informed her of her natural expression. She herself does not notice. In the past, her mother was liable to lash out at her for small things -- things like the tilt of her head and the curl of her toes. Kin developed her own self-defense against it. Since then, she has always been excessively careful about her appearance and her actions. Every movement she makes is made with purpose, every gesture deliberate. It is as if she were an actress in the middle of a play, and in accordance to that, she treats the whole world as her audience. ---------- history-- background: Rain, pitter-patter pitter-patter all the way down the street. Interruptions only come in the form of louder splashes, hurried footsteps in all directions, in one direction -- away. Time flying, time fleeing, time running running running out, forever and for always she will have this truth to hold to her heart. When all is gone and burned to ashes, when all is shattered, lost, scattered, when the seasons have frozen and the sky has darkened, there will always be this -- always be time unchanging. Delicate steps, deliberate steps, acted steps. "Life is just one big play to you, isn't it?" Her mother is right, in a way. Except for those blessed moments spent with her father, moments few and far between and, as of late, completely absent from her life. It is not right, she thinks. Both parents shared the burden of her birth, both should have been sharing the burden of her life. But their marriage had not been a happy one. Waves and storms, waves and storms. One storm nineteen years ago -- a summer storm -- sudden and unexpected. Her mother, a struggling actress, had been out swimming. Too far out. She would have drowned, if Umikoi Kazuzame -- sailor, fisherman, shinobi -- had not saved her. The moon and the tides. A marriage, spur of the moment, between two too young and two too naive. Kin was little more than seventeen months old when the divorce came. The storm. A Umikoi may have saved her mother's life, but in the end the Umikois were still 'a clan of fishers, dirty and uncouth and all too poor' -- as her mother had put it. This was not the life her mother had dreamed of for all her life. Heroism was not something that made one money. There was nothing to be gained from marrying a hero, especially one who enjoyed nothing more than fishing for pleasure. Her mother left with her child, living on the other side of the island, as far from the Umikois as possible. Her daughter would not make the same mistake as her. Her daughter would grow up as anti-Umikoi as possible. Marry someone rich. Grow happier. Kin wonders what had happened to all of that, as she counts her steps. She was in appearance what she was not in blood -- one hundred percent Umikoi. Her mother had been fair, in her own way, but hardly a star amongst women. Her father had been near irresistible. Kin took after him. In more than one way. In the brief moments she was allowed with her father, she followed him everywhere. Her earliest memories were choppy, but clear. Boats. Waters. Fish. Joy as she never found with her mother. And, most importantly, the way of the shinobi. Back then, the dream of every child was to join the academy. But she had never had the chance. When she came of age, her mother would not allow her. The visits to her father became rarer and rarer. And her mother, angrier. For as she had grown older, it became all too clear that deep down, deep where blood and genetics did not matter, deep enough to pierce through the heart, it became all too clear that she was pure Umikoi. --I love the sea. I love fishing. I love swimming. I love training, and genjutsu, and learning everything there is about the way of the shinobi. I want to go out to sea with my father and stay there for the rest of my life. I want to stay with my clan. It became a mantra, of sorts. Then the invasion came. She had not been with the clan. She had been hidden away, her scrolls burned, her weapons kicked into the gutter, all signs of a gennin-in-training thrown out. And she had spent all those long hours locked in a cold room, knowing nothing but the screams and the roars and the silences. Knowing that somewhere else, the rest of her clan was fighting, for themselves and their village and everything they stood for. And she was not there. Her mother would not let her out after all had quieted, or for long after that. It had been weeks before she found out who was dead and who was alive and who was teetering on the brink in between. Weeks, before she found out her father had survived. Weeks. The relationship between herself and her mother, already strained, had finally passed the point beyond mending. The academy was forever lost to her. And she would never join the NCIA, not after what they had done. But nor would she lie down and give up everything she had been living for. Scrolls and weapons could be lost and destroyed, but chakra could not. Her father continued teaching her. She continued training. All in secret. Until her mother caught her, one day, trying to control water inside the house. --You stupid, stupid girl, you'll bring the NCIA down on us, you'll be the death of us both, they'll find you and they'll... Stupid, Kin thought. Her sixteen-year-old-self could not help but retort. --We wouldn't have to worry about the NCIA if you had not left our clan. They would have-- Slap. --Our clan? Ours? We have nothing to do with them! The visits to her father stopped altogether, then. Kin counts four hundred and sixty-eight steps, silently, as the memories continue flashing by. Her mother had gotten worse. Lashing out at her for every little thing. For walking too loudly, talking too loudly, not talking enough, staring at her, staring at objects, staring into space, and most of all, for inheriting so much from her father and nothing from her mother. She was watched, at all times. Self-training came to a halt. And Kin began to feel as if she had nothing worth waking up in the mornings for. She missed her father. She missed her clan. She missed rowing out in the mornings, the feel of water against her skin. She missed flinging fish at other Umikois, missed the casualness and the camaraderie and the sense of belonging. She missed herself. Six hundred and eighty-four. Six hundred and eighty-five. Six hundred and eighty-six. Six hundred and eighty-seven. Six hundred and eighty-eight and... She stops. Slowly raises an arm. Slowly bends back her wrist. Raps, sharply, on the wood. Twice. A pause. Then once more. For the first time in two years, the door creaks open to reveal her father's face behind it. He grins. "I told 'em you'd be comin' around eventually. I think some people owe me money." There is a small frown on her face. There is always one, nowadays, something that has become permanent over time. It disappears. It is replaced. The corners of her lips twitch into a now-unfamiliar direction -- upwards. She is home. ---------- persona-- personality: Kin's self-control is rigid and unyielding; there is nothing she fears more than vulnerability -- vulnerability, which, to her, comes in the form of situations where she cannot control herself, when her life is in the hands of others, when her fate is not under her control. She hates being unsure, hates being left in the dark, hates secrets and hates not knowing things. However, she realizes that there will always be things she cannot control, and that there will always be knowledge that is kept from her. She accepts that, in a quiet, angry, seething sort of way. What she can control she does, with frightening rigor. Every one of her movements is carefully calculated for best effect. No action of hers is meaningless. Rarely are they instinctive. As a result, Kin loathes physical fights and scuffles, where so much relies on instinct and bodily reactions out of her control. Her speaking, too, is controlled, down to the tone of her voice and her choice of words. However, she is not unfeeling, emotionless, or cold. While it does take a while for her to form bonds, the few she has formed are deep and certain to hold, the sort that would still linger even if the person in question outright betrayed her. She has a habit doing little things for her loved ones or leaving small gifts, usually anonymously. When she likes someone, she does all she can to make them happy. There is no doubt, though, that the girl is power-hungry. She claims that she wants to be a shinobi in order to protect her village. This is true -- Kin does harbor a deep love for Kirigakure no Sato, though it is aimed more towards the village itself and the landscape rather than the people. However, deep down, the true force driving her to seek strength is simply the allure of strength itself. Kin craves power with an obsession. She believes that the more power she has, the more control she will have over her own life, her own fate, her own destiny. She longs to be accepted, most of all by her clan. As she has lived outside of the clan for most of her life, she thinks herself as weaker than the other clan members, as well as left-behind. She idealizes the clan. Kin could rhapsodize about it. Yet oddly enough, there are very few individual Umikois she idolizes. She overestimates the Umikois as a whole, but underestimates them as individuals. Seeking to gain some confidence in herself, Kin goes out of her way to pick at little details in other peoples' personalities, the tiniest and most insignificant of flaws, as she tries to convince herself that she is not dirt beneath their feet. likes: her clan. father. fishing. sweets. kirigakure no sato. learning. jutsu. water. freedom. dislikes: mother. orders. helplessness. fistfights. the indoors. kumo and the NCIA. weakness. favorites food: Fish, preferably caught by herself. color: Blue, but in more specific terms: the color of the sea in the evening or in the morning, when the sun's rays ripple across the surface. music genre: Anything, if it's soft and quiet. book genre: Fantasy. hangout: The shoreline, with the waves lapping up against her feet. ---------- relationships-- in process. ---------- ninja stats-- rank: Gennin level: 0 TXP: 0 stats (out of 500): (Health Power) 80 (Stamina) 40 (Chakra) 60 (Taijutsu) 20 (Defense) 40 (Ninjutsu) 60 (Resistance) 20 (Genjutsu) 60 (Concentration) 20 (Speed) 20 (Accuracy) 60 (Evasion) 20 ---------- skills-- remaining skill points: 0 skills: positive skills Mizushin Rank 1; Mizushin Activation/Upkeep: - 2.5% Base Total Chakra/Turn. - Advanced regeneration abilities are suspended while bloodline activation/upkeep is paid. (Activation is not needed for the ability to breath underwater, that is constant after one has unlocked the first rank of the bloodline the first time.) Effect: Members of the Umikoi Clan are born with a sort of dual breathing system, and because of this they can breath above or below water. While surrounded by the field of water the activation of Mizushin calls around them from nearby water sources, the user is immune to all breathing poisons and poisonous gases. Any jutsu that involves water manipulation (Such as Suiton:Ekimuchi or more properly something like Water Manipulation, Power spear) is treated as if it the user knows "No-hands Sealing" with the jutsu, so long as water is nearby. Description: All Members of the Umikoi Clan who have unlocked their Kekkai Genkai (Bloodline Limit) have unlocked a rare ability which is not known by many, or understood by a single person. Though no one realizes that the members of the Umikoi Clan who are actually holders of the activated Kekkai Genkai are hydrokinetics, they are capable of moving water with their will as if it was an extension of their own body, and are capable of sensing bodies of water from miles away (A body of water is counted as anything more than a small puddle, in this usage). The ability to manipulate water is on a somewhat subconscious level, but is also at a conscious level. A mark of Mizushin being active is the reflection of the ability in itself showing up in the user's eyes, their eyes shifting between every tint of blue imaginable and doing so at a great rate, making a "Maelstrom of Blue Tints" dominate their eyes and give an almost stormy feel to any glance given by the user when they use it. In this technique, one focuses chakra into their hand, and uses water manipulation to make it cling, and become dense, and they then begin attacking, attempting to hit their enemy with the chakra created claw of water. 9. Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm planning at this moment -- when I get the time I'll start working on them again. Like I said, that might not be for a few days. And about those two pictures I said I was doing last post, finished one of 'em. This one's for Arashi (first not-chibi in this thread!): (Larger version [here], along with links to the previous two versions.) ...I...really need to learn how to shade THOSE VEST THINGS GAHHH clothing. Edit: Reuploaded because a) forgot the symbol on his shirt forgot to erase some lines c) forgot to color the lines and d) I fail. Utterly.
  10. Waiting list updated again. the girl who likes it in the butt's Yue. Which means I'm all done with the first list. *victory dance* I'm going to put all the other chibis on hold, since I have two other pics that I need to be working on, along with NA things; it might be a couple of days before I get working on the rest, if I do decide to do so. Sorry guys. D:
  11. Cho's. (edit: Forgot highlights on the pants >_> Should be good now) I got you guys all on the waiting list (I think) and yeah, if you want to PM me your descriptions go ahead. There's still no guarantee that I'll be able to do them all, though, especially since I got school starting soon. D: Sorry. @the girl who likes it in the butt: Do you have your character description yet? I'm finally up to your request If not, no rush.
  12. AHA. So that's why my rank wasn't changing the first time around. YOU STOLE IT! Prepare to die.

    Lulz.

SOUND SOUND SOUND SOUND SOUND (As in the character As in me please? ) I think you've seen the references (and chara sheet), but I'll link 'em anyway: First one is sig. Second one is [this]. And third one (for the expression he usually wears), is in avatar (or [here] for larger version) (I would request the newcharalady except I don't have a solid idea of what she looks like yet. >_>)
  14. 's okay, Cho, I'm letting them. This way if I do get the time, I'll have all the descriptions and everything saved and I won't have to go pester them again. (And hopefully I'll be able to post Cho's chibi today, working on it right now but my Internet is only living in spurts of one to two minutes. This is practically the first time I've managed to get on today. >_>
  15. HOORAH! (Wait, I already had Pop-Tarts today. Then a really big apple. And then some corn. And now I feel sick. Er...I'll pass.) Also, re: Jeannie's handwriting AT LEAST YOURS IS MESSY BUT PRETTY. Mine's just messy and ugly as hell.
