Organization Goals: Protection of Iwa, Covert Ops Missions, Protecting the Tsuchikage.

Organization History:

The ANBU were originally an idea created by the 1st Tsuchikage to ever rule over Iwa. The one that was partially responsible for the whole creation of the village. He decided that an elite set of ninja's were to be appointed at his disgression to assist him with security of the village, security of himself, and covert opperations to help keep information on all the other villages up to date. He wanted this to remain strictly secret. The ANBU were supposed to never be seen, heard, or thought about, unless this was the only way to get their job done. If they allowed themselves to be discovered, without it being the last resort, the leader of their group is usually to lead a full group of ANBU to assassinate this man. They do not want to wish for any of the actions taken by the ANBU to be found out by anyone in the village, and especially not by those in other villages. The Tsuchikage was not willing to take such risks. His respect with the Kage's would be entirely decimated.

Many years later, the ANBU had become an essential part of Iwa's society. They were able to succesfully stop many incoming invaders, keep out unwanted spies, and were even able to do some valuable reconaissance themselves. It was now the time of the 2nd and even nearing the 3rd Tsuchikage, and they had only a few incidents in which the ANBU had been discovered in their reconaissance. Two ANBU soldiers had been... dishonarably discharged by the second Tsuchikage, and by the first true head of the ANBU, Mortari Corasi. Corasi was the leader of the ANBU for twenty years before retiring his post, and settling down to a settled down life steyle in the mountains that covered all of Iwa.

Another 50 years passed by without any incidents, but this is when the armies of Kumo decided to invade all of the respected hidden villages, including Iwagakure. After many years of civil war between the Resistance and the empire, a man rose up and took control. His name was Hikado, the current leader of the Resistance in Iwa. After becoming Tsuchikage, he rose up with the Resistance, and put down the Kumo Empire's forces, driving them out permanently. This was the release of Iwa from the powerful grasp of the Kumo empire. Unfortunately, the peace that followed was short lived.

Only months later, Yuki, the Country of Snow, besieged the Iwa empire. This was only shortly after the driving out of the Kumo empire, so needless to say, both resources and man power were low. They were lead by a man name Uchiha Madara. This resulted in a Kage level fight in Iwa. This war waged until their rose a Kage level battle between Madara himself, and the Tsuchikage, Hikado. The end result was less than pleasurable. The ANBU who at the time were almost non-existant in numbers due to the previous war with Kumo, were not to be found to protect their sacred leader. The fight ended with Hikado dead, and again Iwa was without a Tsuchikage. The Yuki forces withdrew immediately after Hikado's death, showing that their goal was nothing but to get rid of Hikado. A private war against the Tsuchikage himself had ended.

Now only weeks after, Iwa's ANBU Leader, Teosa Ryutonin (Ryu) began to consider the rebuilding of the Dark Forces group. He is looking for recruits to assist in rebuilding Iwa, and giving it back a sense of security that it hadn't felt since the death of the 3rd Tsuchikage.
