Clan Age: The beginnings of the Naiyume date back several decades, if not centuries, seeing as though its original birth was in Uzushiogakure, before it was crushed due to its extensive knowledge in sealing techniques. However, the actual clan for what's become today dates back only a few centuries, right before the fall of the Whirlpool Country.

Clan Status: The Naiyume will hardly ever find themselves in any good note, expect maybe in a bingo book. They aren't really known for the people, but more of the legends of monsters spun around them- but all the rumors are true, yet none of them are necessarily their fault. They are feared, loathed and misunderstood outside of Otogakure, if they are even known to exist. Inside of the village of Sound, they fall into the shadows, a shade among the black night of sin.

The human mind is the very factor of adaptability, curiosity and reason that allows man to usurp the crown of the food chain; the component easing humans to create great acts of charity and terrible atrocities. What happens when man tries to play God without approval? A prelude to judgment comes in this life, not the next- a scar to remind man that a division exists for a reason and some things are just not arbitrary. As a forerunner to the great destruction of Uzushiogakure no Sato, one of the prestige families of the era, the Naiyume family were all but decimated. But were things to go correctly, as theorized perhaps Uzushiogakure no Sato would have remained to this day. The human brain, the pinnacle of creation was not made perfect.

 

The Naiyume clan are partially responsible for Uzushiogakure's renowned affinity in sealing jutsu, they were one of the leading Prestige Families dedicated to the cutting edge advancement of the seals. T the one thing that the Naiyume lacked was the one thing that set them apart from most of the shinobi toiling in history. The Naiyume clan did not have a bloodline, and for that, they were not the most famous and powerful clans in Uzushiogakure. They were constantly in the shadow of the Uzumaki and Ageshio clans of the Whirling Tides. However, the society of Uzushiogakure was very even and traditionally, the difference between the families were severely low-key as comparable to the main shinobi villages, who typically went civil war cut throat to each other. The Naiyume dreamed of sharing their skills with the outside world, a bartering tool of sorts, which was detrimental to the Uzumaki and Ageshio, who allied solely with Konohagakure. But those clans didn't have the bartering chip that was the Aeterno seal, which slowed the process of aging.

 

This attracted the pristine eye of a rare and nearly mystical set of colleagues known as the Hōhken clan, who rarely made an obvious appearance in world affairs, but seemed to be present in some way, shape or form in the shadows. They saw the bartering chip and sent a man by the name of Ryuichi to be an envoy. Arriving, he met with the leading seal master, who was the only one who had access to the Aeterno seal. Ryuichi didn't bargain with money, supplies or a network of high class individuals who could make the Naiyume clan something wonderful in the world. No, he theorized that he could give the Naiyume a bloodline, something that could set them toe to toe with the world's top notch clans t the era. It was a daring promise and in most ears it would ring arrogant and ignorant. But Zaidon wasn't a daft man, he foresaw the tides of trouble across the world, knowing of Konohagakure's many wars with other countries and mounting distrust with Uzushiogakure. With a bloodline, his family could do so much more for his village.

 

It was expected, of course to incur some loss, for Zaidon was realistic. He extended the invite to those in his clan to take part in a risky procedure, with unknown consequences, but he was also willing to partake in the experiment. He wasn't going to let something happen to his family without him being included in the testing, regardless of politics. When man crosses the moral fiber, he must throw away ethics and put at stake his very soul. Ryuichi, Zaidon and the Naiyume went to the Shin'zominochi Plane, which was a favored place of natural shrines and tranquility, allowing for great views of the celestial expanse- visited quite frequently during twilight hours. It was there; within one of the shrines for secrecy did Ryuichi's experimentations began.

The man theorized that the human soul was an untapped source of raw power and energy and if one were able to separate the body from the soul, or at least detach the two without killing the individual, the person in question would be able to harness the power of their own spirit- while this would also be incredibly dangerous it would also be incredibly powerful, after all- the body is only a vassal to harbor the soul. The soul is a mysterious artifact, the essence of a person existing outside of the very dimension of time, and to more ardent spirits, space too. Souls may connect even if bodies never interact, but to weigh down a soul, placing it within the dimension of typical human existence- that would push the boundaries of that dimension. This one procedure, would start Ryuichi in a spiraling surge in his future years to test the very fabric of existence. To separate the soul from body, Ryuichi had to use the source of energy that was not given to man originally to mold to him whim; chakra.

 

In the first step, Ryuichi broke open Zaidon's tenketsu. Through the skin, he punctured through to the energy circuit of chakra, allowing it to bleed both into his bloodstream and into the air. He did this to the other test subjects as well, not causing anything too out of the ordinary to transpire. Then Ryuichi did something he did not disclose to Zaidon, he attacked his wife. Shocking her with a powerful lightning element jutsu, she appeared to be dead, but was really in momentary cardiac arrest, but both outcomes looked the same to Zaidon, who in a fury tried to attack the infamous experimenter. With his soul at its peak of activity, being connected to his wife, Ryuichi took the offensive and tunneled another powerful lightning jutsu into the attacking group. By supercharging their brain and acting upon the livid outrage expressed by the group and the mixing vital liquids, the final transformation was complete. The result was a horrible nightmare.

 

Zaidon's body, as were most of the family members with him were consumed in a magical aura of something greater than chakra, it was the physical manifestation of the soul. Being unleashed in a black dystopia, the color of his soul reflected Zaidon's emotions. Ryuichi had received what he arrived for, in order to save himself, he employed a space/time jutsu to wink himself away from the shadows, away from the catastrophe he unleashed. The unrelenting power was so catastrophic that the shrine and field itself was consumed and reformed into a valley during the passing of the night. Zaidon's wife Sen awoke after her husband's transformation into a giant chaotic storm of black swirling mess. She was terrified, for short- but a soul confined in the typical dimension of human functioning still retains the ability to talk. Zaidon was able to calm down in his state to converse with her and it was discovered that everyone who transformed had their body consumed and destroyed. The weaker members begun to fade out of the living state, for the soul wouldn't last long in a dimension it didn't fully belong in. So Sen and Zaidon begun to create a body for him, through the clay of the earth- similar to certain tales of Creation. With his life fleeting and time dwindling, Sen created a sealing jutsu that sealed Zaidon into the makeshift body. His overwhelming power gave life to the clay and renewed anchoring. His body miraculously became attuned to the new life he brought.

 

The change broke down the molecular make up of the Naiyume and since Uzushiogakure was not a large place, rumors spread quickly. Zaidon attempted to keep it under wraps, but once he was interrogated, he had to release the seals on his body to defend himself- which caused the purge of the Naiyume. It was only a matter of time until they would all die, Zaidon took what was left of his family and fled. If they had remained, perhaps history would have been different in many ways.

 

Not every new born of the Naiyume gain the ability to release their soul to the point of consumption, but for those that do they are sealed with a few distinct seals. Only when they release all of them, does the full transformation of the Rokotsu Kihaku manifest. The first seal is called the Vox, which upon its release black vine-like lines extend upon the Naiyume. It could resemble a bit of a curse seal in a way, both in power and appearance. The next released seal, the Selix unlocks a new dimension of the Naiyume where they exhibit further extents of the black lines with rigid spike-like stalagmites riveting out of their skin. It adds a more defensive aura to their abilities. The Mons- the third seal release is seen with seeping black energy out of the Naiyume's tenketsu. It wraps around them with cracking power and may be used like a weapon if used correctly. The final seal, the Ventus is the last security measure before the soul consumed the body and the nightmarish terror is released again.

 

Upon traveling, they didn't remain settled for long and it wasn't until the attack of the NCIA, did they finally have a home forced upon them. The Naiyume were captured and sent to the prison in Otogakure no Sato, held for testing and other measures. Luckily the testing proved unfruitful for copying so the curse wouldn't be further spread. When they were freed, they were introduced into a place where moral filth reigned, a place where they could finally settle. Though feared and mistrusted, they at least had housing.

 

In the following years, Zaidon would try without sleep to give his family a safe and almost reliable place to lay their heads. None of the Naiyume had unlocked their seals during the years of peace, nor do they wish to in fear they will be feared and shunned once again. However, now that they are in a safe haven, Zaidon, relentlessly plans to pursue his search of Hōhken Ryuichi, a hatred that burns passionately in his black soul. A rumor of any Hohken would add to his vendetta. From those who served in the Konohagakure freedom, to Ryuichi himself. For what he had done for his family, then and forevermore he saw it as unforgivable.

 

Central Notes:

• Naiyume will learn a central Seal Release and Sealing jutsu that allows for each seal to be released and the first three to be sealed.
• Once the forth seal is released, they cannot seal themselves up unless they create a new body within a set amount of time.

The Open Soul (The Rokotsu Kihaku)

Many of the scholars of the world have pleaded with their intellectual knowledge and skepticism to throw away their own critical thinking and allow a brief moment of belief. Their pretentious thoughts have driven them to try and find the weight of the soul, so their scientific minds can be assuaged and faith can be proven. These professors have found truth and nightmare in the eyes of the Naiyume. With a family who was without a bloodline, they sold their soul to create one. The result of their unfortunate position within the structure of the Prestige Three Families of Uzushiogakure no Sato was bloody at best. To give in to the crowd contagion, they obtained their wish: a vicious bloodline that would put them on the balanced scale of power. The sad thing was, they only wanted to better their family and village, but they were consumed by this evil with the release of their soul. The bloodline isn't even synthetic, as now it is a genetic trait occurring in most Naiyume. The process of separating a soul from the body, to utilize the manifest of the human spirit would not come without a cost for such untapped power. At its greatest levels, the Open Soul will destroy the body, but since the physical world will not accept this anomaly, the released physical souls will only be allowed in the physical plane for a set amount of time before they are forced to fade away into whatever afterlife they will find themselves in. In response to this, the cutting-edge masters of sealing technology have created a set of four seals to keep their bloodline at bay. Although a Naiyume can release their soul at any age, the elders allow the youngsters to delve into their blood only at approved milestones in their shinobi career. They were seen as monsters and needed to be exterminated. Exiled and fled before the destruction their homeland, the clansmen have been seen as the lowest forms of human existence. Now as the Naiyume have fled to a new home of filth and sin, they feel like they finally belong. The Naiyume have avoided asking whether God will be kind to them for their actions.
 

The Vox

The first constructed seal is known as the Vox (voice), since it is the leading sign of a Naiyume. It described a more internal effect than an outward one, as the body begins to speed its heart rate, blood pressure, breathing and adrenal glands. The body begins to realize that it is in peril and activatres a typical fight or flight response, since it naturally does not recognize the release of the seal. Out of the user's skin protrude black wine-like tendrils like sapling veins come off the user. The most of the vein-like black extensions are found at the base of the skull and begin wrapping around the Naiyume. In actually, it is their tenketsu system coming out from the internal chambers of their body. The vein-like structures add an extra bit of girth, though the transformation takes a toll on the Naiyume's ability to focus. This stage begins to look like the onset of a curse seal, which isn't entirely untrue, only in a reverse sense.

Systematic Effects; (-4)

- The damage done by the user will increase by +.75x, whereas x is equal to the user's level. This is added after base damage and before modifiers.
- The user will increase their defense by 2x, whereas x is equal to the user's level.
- The user's concentration will decrease by 2x, whereas x is equal to the user's level. In the event that the user has insufficent stat points, they will take the difference in chakra damage, plus suffer one (1) turn of 'Vulnerable'.
- Every time the user successfully hits the opponent with a chakra based attack, 10% of the base damage will be recovered in health.
- Medical jutsu are 75% effective against the user.
- When this seal is released, the user will lose 10% of their total chakra upon activation and take 1% of their total health damage each turn.
 

The Selix

The second release, the Selix takes the first release even further. The body begins to see everything around it as a threat and begins to push the natural responses of the body to the stress someone under a celestial gate would experience. Antibodies began to accumulate in the body, since it believes it's fighting an infection that isn't really there. The vein-like black tenketsu begin to solidify and multiply, becoming more jagged stalagmite formations coming from their skin. They only raise a few inches at best, but the Naiyume will begin to look quite thorny as their body breakdown begins. Once this seal is released, the user will become at risk for their body to completely collapse and shut down. The vein structures begin to absorb chakra the left the body more effectively and converts that into energy for the body to sustain itself.

Systematic Effects; (-4)

- The damage done by the user will increase by +1.5x, whereas x is equal to the user's level. This is added after base damage and before modifiers.
- The user will increase their defense by 3x, whereas x is equal to the user's level.
- The user's concentration will decrease by 3x, whereas x is equal to the user's level. In the event that the user has insufficent stat points, they will take the difference in chakra damage, plus suffer one (1) turn of 'Vulnerable'.
- Every time the user successfully hits the opponent with a chakra based attack, 12.5% of the base damage will be recovered in health.
- Medical jutsu are 50% effective against the user.
- When this seal is released, the user will lose 15% of their total chakra upon activation and take 2% of their total health damage each turn. If the user releases this seal after the one prior to it, the user will only need to spend an additional 5% of their total chakra.
- This seal may be active for ten (10) turns before the user's body is destroyed.
 

The Mons

At the release of the Mons (mountain), the Naiyume's body began to see itself as an alien entity. Dubbed this name out of respect for climbing a mountain to its peak, the ability to turn back and reseal the bloodline is skim at best. The body has reached its breaking point, pushing all its systems to the limit. The solidified black tenketsu break open in several points and begin to seep black and spectral energy that floats around the user and reacts to their chakra. As a physical blanket, it allows for a superior line of defense and may be used offensively if utilized correctly. This transformation is incredibly taxing on the user and they can begin to feel the seams of their body breaking apart. It's not a mistake to call this form bestial at best.

Systematic Effects; (-4)

- The damage done by the user will increase by +2x, whereas x is equal to the user's level. This is added after base damage and before modifiers.
- The user will increase their defense by 4x, whereas x is equal to the user's level.
- The user's concentration will decrease by 4x, whereas x is equal to the user's level. In the event that the user has insufficent stat points, they will take the difference in chakra damage, plus suffer one (1) turn of 'Vulnerable'.
- Every time the user successfully hits the opponent with a chakra based attack, 15% of the base damage will be recovered in health.
- Medical jutsu are 25% effective against the user.
- When this seal is released, the user will lose 20% of their total chakra upon activation and take 3% of their total health damage each turn. If the user releases this seal after the one prior to it, the user will only need to spend an additional 5% of their total chakra.
-This seal may be active for 5 turns before the user's body is destroyed.
 

The Ventus

The human soul has been called the "Breath of Life" which is the main reason the Ventus was the classification for the last seal release. Breath or wind are two forms of the translation, but one might refer a Naiyume to a "Breath of Death", as in the last seal release, their body is instantly devoured. As comparable to the last seal, the seeping black prism energy is the entirety of the user. Without a body, they are beyond being healed by typical means, which is why they rely on their own recycled chakra as energy. Their consciousness takes a supreme toll as they try to defy the natural laws and remain in existence. In this state, the Naiyume are at their most powerful state of swirling destruction. Their power and resistance to physical blows is terrifying, but they are at a constant fight against being able to focus. The existance of the fully released Naiyume is found in many ghost stories and child sleepless nights. It was this reason that they were hunted and thrown away, yet their power could have saved Uzushiogakure from being destroyed. The world may never know the truth.

- Upon release of this seal, the user's body is destroyed.

Activation Fail Chance;

- While this bloodline is active, all advanced regeneration skills are suspended.
- When the user tries to activate the bloodline, they will have a base chance of 10% to fail the activation on the first seal they try to release.
- For every rank up they achieve, the user will have a -2% fail chance subtracted from the base.

Body Destruction Rules;

- After the user's body is destroyed, the user has 5 turns before they "fade", which is to say the die and are beyond resurrection from any skill, item or stipulation save from majority of staff vote which must include my personal approval. This translates into 1 IC day and 2 OOC days.
- The user must create or inhabit a new body. If a dead body is inhabited, then it must be repaired at the hospital at a rate of 2000 words of recovery. Making a new body requires the clan jutsu and a 2000 word requirement.
- When a new body is create or 'fixed' then the user's stats are reduced to 50% of their base, which grows by 10% every IC day or 2 OOC days.

Spactari Seal (Seal of the Watcher)
Clan: Uzushiogakure Clans [x]
Description: The scholars of Uzusiogakure no Sato were well renowned for their ability to create and modify novel and ancient seals, which was one of the main ingredients within the process of becoming the 'Land of Longevity'. The Spectari (watcher) Seal was created for that very purpose, it slows the signs of aging. The seal prototype was called the Specter because with more time, comes more observations- literally one will watch the rest of the world age and change as they go through the process slowly. The technicians designed the seal in a triangle type formation, as it was a mixed project of each of the Presitgie Three Families, the Ageshio, Naiyume and Uzumaki clans. Each clan would be able to use the seal with a certain number of rules and restrictions while also being able to spread the seal to worthy individuals who were too precious to come under the aging process. With the seal placed at the base of the skull on the neck, it interferes with the chakra and natural energy going through the central nervous system and eases the strain on the subject. By easing the strain and creating a miniature chakra field emitting from the seal, not only is the subject able to slow down their aging process, but gain a small boon in chakra recovery.
Effect: The normal age ratio of this character becomes 2:1 (e.g. the user will age at half of the normal rate, for every two years that passes, the character will age by one year). Unwilling placement may inverse these effects and it is determined by the person placing the seal. Natural chakra regeneration is increased by 2%, this does not count as an advanced regeneration skill and this bonus is suspended when advanced regeneration skills are not. This seal would later open up branches for a stronger age fighting seal, exclusive to the Naiyume clan.
Clause: The character that this is being placed on must be given by one of the members of the Prestige Three [Ageshio, Naiyume, Uzumaki] and only to families belonging to Uzushiogakure. However, with a 2/3 vote of the family, the seal may be placed on a non-familial candidate. It is unlawful for the seal to be placed on anyone under the age of 20, on someone who does not have the permission of the Prestige Three, or to activate the inverse effects of the seal (unless one is forced to place the seal. Unlawful is synonymous with Forbidden and the result is becoming a missing-nin.

Art of the Red Comet
Clan: Naiyume
Description: Long before the Naiyume clan had a bloodline, they were masters of seals. It became their craft and they produced several of the sealing advances in Uzushiogakure before the civil war ripped them from their homeland. To compensate for their lack of bloodline at the time, the Naiyume sages created a style of fighting that would evolve as the family became prosecuted. Naiyume warriors would apply seal themselves with a fragment of their own chakra that was specifically designed to react when foreign chakra came in contact with it. They derived the style's name by a famous legend in the clan about a red comet that orbited the planet and would smash into other cosmic beings and devoured them until one day it became too heavy and was sucked into the planet's atmosphere. The red comet crashed into the sea and would one day provide the mold for the island of Uzushio. The legend preludes the activity of the seal, in which foreign chakra is absorbed as if it was the user's own. The seal utilizes a significant pattern that doesn't put a wear on the user, but instead uses energy already applied on it to fuel its power. The seal aspect of the battle style is woven deep into the user's central nervous system and appears as a comet shaped tattoo between their shoulder blades.
Effect: Whenever the user takes damage from a chakra based attack, they will gain one Primal Charge. A maximum of one charge may be gained per turn and a maximum of five charges may be held. Every time the user is hit by a chakra based attack, they will recover 5x% of the base damage (or base cost, if there is no damage) back as chakra or stamina, where x is equal to the number of Primal Charges the user has accumulated. If the user is critcally hit or takes chakra or bleed damge, they will lose one Primal Charge. This may not stack with any advanced regeneration and may not be used in conjunction with Taijutsu styles.

Silent Banshee Pulse
Clan: Naiyume
Description: As the Naiyume became a hunted family, it became even more pressing to develop their skin seals. An extent of the Art of the Red Comet, this part of the seal supercharges the user's attack with its chakra that has a dormant effect for a few seconds. When its time expires, the chakra vibrates and explodes with an abutting force that passes by all defenses. The ticker tape rhythm can be described as the aftershock of a technique no longer manifested; a pulse of a banshee.
Effect: Whenever the user successfully lands an attack on their target, the target will suffer 10% of the total damage as unmodified damage the following response phase.
Restriction: Cannot be taken with Shiva the Destroyer or Vishnu the Supreme Being.
Requirements: Art of the Red Comet.

Dream Flux
Clan: Naiyume
Description: Named after their namesake, the ability of Dream Flux describes the action that takes place when the skin seal is damaged. Interwoven into the body's nervous system, the red comet seal releases a flood of chakra into the user's feet which grant a momentary boost in evasive maneuvers. The skin around their legs and feet will begin to hue deep red when this part of the seal is active.
Effect: Every time the user is hit by hostile attack, on their following response phase (and all response phases until they may act again), they will gain 80x to their evasion, where x is the rank in this skill. This may not exceed 1.5x the base of the evasion stat.

Clan Techniques;

Inner Wraith Release (Naiteki Kaibutsuton)
Type: Sealing | Clan
Rank: Gennin
Cost: See bloodline costs.
Effects: Upon use of this jutsu, the target will move one rank up in their bloodline or active Gate. If cast on one's self, the user will not have to pay any additional cost, they must only follow the normal bloodline rules. If cast on another, the user will pay the cost it would take the target to activate their bloodline. This jutsu may not be used on shinobi of higher rank. This jutsu may not activate a level of bloodline higher than what is purchased. Only when the user is Jounin rank or higher may they use this on non-Naiyume Clan members. If used on self, this jutsu may be activated in the Set-up phase, if used on a target, it may only be used in the Main Phase. This cannot be used against the Death Gate.
Description: The Naiyume clan was known for their ability to create seals, as it was their specialty before they inherited their bloodline. When the group of misfits had their bloodline created, they quickly realized they would need various ways to manipulate it, whether it be in themselves or in another person. They created a set of jutsu in order to keep themselves as a family in balance with their synthetic bloodline. The first jutsu they created was a way to manipulate their bloodline in order to force an activation within their own bodies or within another. Later with finesse, they would be able to reach out and apply this knowledge to other shinobi and other bloodlines. The Naiyume shinobi will create a set of seals and black fire that moves like serpents will envelop their skin, acting as an operation command for the body to release the bloodline.
Reflection: The rank of this technique will increase as the user's rank increases. The user must pay an additional JP each time this jutsu increases in rank.

Dark Encryption Seal (Mei Anshouka Gokuin)
Type: Sealing | Clan
Rank: Chuunin
Cost: 0 if used on self, 100 +25xy whereas x is equal to the rank in the bloodline and y is equal to how many ranks will be downgraded if used in another target. The cost may not exceed the DP cap of the user's current rank.
Effects: Upon use of this jutsu, the target will downgrade in their current active bloodline or Gate based on the cost calculation. This jutsu may not be used on shinobi of higher rank. Only when the user is Jounin rank or higher may they use this on non-Naiyume Clan members. If used on self, this jutsu may be activated in the Set-up phase, if used on a target, it may only be used in the Main Phase. This may not be used on the user to deactivate their gates.
Description: The Naiyume clan was known for their ability to create seals, as it was their specialty before they inherited their bloodline. When the group of misfits had their bloodline created, they quickly realized they would need various ways to manipulate it, whether it be in themselves or in another person. They created a set of jutsu in order to keep themselves as a family in balance with their synthetic bloodline. The second jutsu the Naiyume created was one that would seal away their bloodline in case it became too taxing or out of control. Later with finesse, they would be able to reach out and apply this knowledge to other shinobi and other bloodlines. The Naiyume will create a set of seals and blue fire will burn a seal on the flesh, which will serve as an operation command to shut down the bloodline systems in the body.

Effects: The user will create a new body in which they must create a new physical description and place it on their sheet if they do not model it after their previous body. Chakra used in this jutsu may not be recovered like normal. Instead, it will recover 20% every IC day or 2 OOC day, whichever is longer. The user of this technique must now abide to the word requirement listed in their bloodline to fully create a new body. Inhabiting a new body will deplete all chances of being found while hunted, unless someone has gained knowledge of the use of this jutsu. If that is the case, increase the visibility of this character by 30%.
Description: It didn't take long for the Naiyume to realize at their highest level of bloodline, their body was utterly destroyed by the full release of their soul. While the body may not be needed for the host to exist in the physical realm, the body still serves as an anchor for a reason. Their soul may only stay in existence for a brief amount of time. This led the scholars to take their knowledge ohakra and the planet to create a synthetic body tailored to their will. This process is extremely taxing and takes some time, even when the inhabitance occurs, the body needs some time to adjust to the new host. It is an excellent way to escape pursuers, unless the hunters find word of such black actions happening under their watch. Then more than likely, it will just spur them on their hunt.
