The Ageshio Clan

[Surging Ebb & Flood]

波打っている干潮と洪水

"Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe,

all things are possible to him that believeth."

Mark 9:23

Clan Origin: Uzushiogakkure no Sato [The Village Hidden in the Whirling Tides]

Current Clan Occupancy: Iwagakure no Sato

Clan Starter: Ageshio Aiden

Clan Head: Ageshio Ezra & Ageshio Asura

Clan Age: The Ageshio are among those who date back to the prehistoric shinobi days. In fact, they were coaxed by the Uzumaki clan to aid the Senju clan in the formation of Konohagakure no Sato. The clan's birth was in the formal creation of Uzushiogakure no Sato before its untimely end. In its prime, it was one of the Prestige Families, a title acclaimed only to three families.

Clan Status: The Ageshio, unlike their neighbors, the Naiyume are an accepted family in the world. Although they fall into the shadows behind the esteemed Uzumaki clan, the Ageshio held their ties in the only place they ever really did care about, Uzushiogakure. That is not to say that they were not hardened to Konohagakure, in fact they were friendly, but not on the same level as the Uzumaki. So much time has passed, in fact, that in Iwagakure no Sato they are known for their existence and contributions to Earth, more than they are known for their ancient past.

Clan Element & Specialty: Gravity | Sealing

Clan History;

s6qiqv.jpg

To a clan that didn't believe there was a limit to how chakra could be sealed and released, they certainly got their money's worth of technology. They are the embodiment of the whirling tides. Their bodies, their fluids, their flow- all counterbalanced to the norm and allowing harmony to take place in the utopian Uzushiogakure. As they were crafted different, the very steps in which they walk are leave ripples in the chakra realm like a black swan. As opposed to the Naiyume, the Ageshio were born with a blood gift and that gift was counterbalance. Perhaps they would have been renowned in the ninja society as something grand, if their country hadn't been destroyed under their feet.

As a leading specialist in the Sealing field, the Ageshio were responsible for some of the most dangerous seals used. While they were not as concerned with age defying seals, they focused more on the seals that hindered a person's use of chakra and even to a point where only a specific level of chakra could be utilized. It was a seal that essentially calmed all use of chakra and fiddled with its molding abilities. But the Prestige Three would not have gotten to their knowledge today if they hadn't the insight of the heir of the Senju.

As the formation of Konohagakure went under way a rogue group that infiltrated the masses of the Senju banner there was a sudden attack and kidnapping of a handful of women and children. The rogue group did not take kindly to the thought of forming shinobi villages, for in their time this terrorist crew reigned supreme in the land. With the kidnapping would come a warning to what would happen. Their warning probably would have been significant and cause uproar, but coming into that meeting was the Ageshio clan. It was only a band of a few, but once they crossed roads with Ageshio Aiden, the clan's peaceful tranquility wouldn't tolerate the uproar. It would be the first public displays of the Ageshio clan outside of Uzushiogakure no Sato. Ageshio's Gyrating Touch worked in a way similarly to the Hyuuga Jyuuken, but instead of targeting Tenketsu, a simple touch of their hand disrupts the flow of chakra within the opponent. Needless to say, they weren't expecting to be disarmed despite not having many physical weapons. They were disarmed of their own chakra.

Combining their disruptive touch with the clan's ability with gravity jutsu, the terrorist group were at the mercy of the Mediator clan and were forced to surrender when the brunt of the Senju caught up to the thieves. With the rescue, a good word was put into the alliance between the Leaf and Whirlpool, further strengthening their ties down the road with shared apparel marks and marriage.

The Ageshio worked perilously in their laboratories, secluded on their island and left to their own devices. Ages ago, when they came about the discovery for the gravity element they were trying to devise a technique that did not use the element of fire- essencially shutting down the technique's use in the world of Konohagakure no Sato. It was not done out of spite, or terror- but true to the clan's creed, it was to prevent Konohagakure from turning their element against them, should things turn sour. Ironically, things never darkened between the Leaf and Whirlpool, it was only the rest of the world.

Before the historic attack, there was something darker approaching in Uzushiogakure. One of the Prestige Families, the Naiyume developed a bloodline that they never had- and synthetics were unethical in any day and age. Aiden met with the Uzumaki clan head and the two sat the Naiyume clan leader down in a memorable meeting. Zaidon initially tried to be peaceful, but Aiden knew the only way they could test what the power the Naiyume had now was to force a release. With a gravity jutsu that compressed the meeting room, the tower broke and Zaidon was forced to release his seal, straight to the black monster. But, he didn't fight- he was wise enough to flee, only to be sealed later. Aiden however took the initiative to purge the Naiyume who had their bloodline gained. It was very out of character for him, but he was scared out of his wits to witness the dark side of the soul. With the disruptive powers of the Ageshio and the death seals of the Uzumaki, they made quick work against the Naiyume, with suffering a decent loss to all families. But some of the Naiyume escaped, there was no time to pursue because the rest of the world was invading.

With the village nations invading Uzushiogakure no Sato, Aiden performed a massive gravity jutsu that was just finished research that propelled a large chunk of the Ageshio that remained off the island and on to the main land, as the story is told. He never made it out of that battle, passing off the flag to his son Ageshio Shin'zah. Shin'zah bypassed the safe haven of the Leaf, for he believed they'd be hunted there. He traveled as far as he could, north and west- finally settling in the mountains of Iwagakure no Sato. Things went well, decently well since Shin'zah had altered his family name to Kaido and managed to get through immigration. His family began to settle, letting their knowledge of seals and gravity only to their family clansmen. This was all well, until the Akatsuki invaded. Upon their invasion, the Kaido quickly decided to leave, literally the day of the attack. After recalling news of the Alchem clan, this was a wise decision on their part. They walled up inside a mountain and activated a seal which would prevent them from being sensed by the Akatsuki and later the NCIA. They lives out there for several years, until the clan had a little falling out.

Asura and Ezra, two men that had opposing views on how the clan should proceed. Asura inherited the clan's peaceful manifest, to travel back into Iwagakure no Sato and develop normal lives, start the clan up again with its real name and finally live in public again. He wanted to do good things, and he would do those things. He, personally would work with the task force in the Rakurai Pact Project. Ezra, however inherited the clan's fear of the Naiyume that may still exist. He planned to hunt down these beasts and put an end to them and he even had a few followers. He even spoke of going back to their clan's home ruins and "make things right”. That's when the clan divided and peacefully left the other receptive members alone. Most would follow Asura and begin life anew, however and find final rest in Iwagakure no Sato.

Central Noes:
  • The Ageshio will not be able to start with the element 'Gravity' intially, but they will be able to take it later. Please refer to the skill when it is made.
  • Ageshio aren't meant to seem as the aggressive powerhouse. Though characters may be that way, the clan as a whole will not appear that way.

Clan Bloodline;

Gyrating Touch (Maru Tacchi)
[波打っている干潮と洪水]

2ag7yvd.jpg

Some things in nature are meant to work in reverse, as a sort of balance towards the progression of life. Disease, epidemics, plagues- all arise when population is at an all time high to control the population and protect the ecosystem. There is speculation that time itself is flowing minutely backwards as it is forward to keep the universe in check. Black holes suck in energy as suns produce energy. Life revolves around balance and judges to keep things in check. In the shinobi world and in the ancient civilization of the psuedo-Atlantis of the continent in Uzushiogakure no Sato- this reverse process was known as the Gyrating Touch. It actually made perfect sense why the Ageshio Clan, heirs of this determinate of balance became one of the Prestige Three Families in the Whirlpool Village. Between the powerful Uzumaki and Naiyume families, the Ageshio kept them in check as pacifists, but because of their odd bloodline- they were one of the most powerful families in the village. The Ageshio aren't born with natural hereditary chakra hindrances, their chakra is pure. Inside of their bodies, their chakra flows clockwise, but once it leaves their tenketsu, the chakra reverses and becomes counter-clockwise. This reversal, when in contact with normal chakra, can reflect and negate its power in lucky instances. It is similar to the Jyuuken but can also be seen as its anti-thesis.

Shining Hand (Shainingu Te)

The Shining Hand is a colloquial term for an aspect of the Gyrating Touch bloodline. It's name is implicitly obvious, deriving from the shining golden chakra illuminating from the Ageshio's hands when their reversed chakra is flooded out of their hands to create a barrier against incoming chakra. The chakra in the Ageshio travels down their arm in a golden surge and reaches their hand in preparation for impact. The swirling chakra in their hands act as a magnet to the chakra in the area, redirecting its path in the immediate area towards their hand. Further chakra is pulled out of the Ageshio's hand to counter the nature of the chakra and with percision and practice, the user can generally apply less and less chakra to reach to optimal outcome. It is also very useful for protection of friendlies.

The maximum usage of this skill is four times per battle. This may also be used to attract a technique aimed at an ally. (-3)

Counter-clockwork Finger (Hidarimawari Shushi)

One of the abilities of the Gyrating Touch is poetically described as the Counter-clockwork Finger. The name exists as an artistic picture of the inner working of an Ageshio bloodline. The natural revolving (gyrating) chakra of the Ageshio make the techniques they use a bit different from the normal flow of chakra. As the chakra leaves the body of the Ageshio, it automatically reverses its flow and when the chakra of the Ageshio comes in contact with a target, the surging chakra spreads across the epidermis of the opponent. While the Hyuuga Jyuuken chakra enters through the tenketsu, the Ageshio Hidarimawari Shushi lays on the skin and disrupts the chakra as it comes out of the tenketsu. In its most common form, when chakra comes out of the tenketsu, it will fail in its molding process and the jutsu will be unexpectedness lost. In rare cases, however, the chakra will backfire and return a portion of the offensive damage at whoever was touched by the Ageshio.

Rank 1: After a successful strike [basic attack and Jutsu hit] by the user while this bloodline is active, the opponent will have a 5% chance of having their next chakra based attack fail, rolled on a d100, with the result of a 1-5 being a success. (-1)
Rank 2:After a successful strike [basic attack and Jutsu hit] by the user while this bloodline is active, the opponent will have a 10% chance of having their next chakra based attack fail, rolled on a d100, with the result of a 1-10 being a success. The opponent will also have a 5% chance to have 50% of the technique's base damage thrown back at them rolled in a similar fashion as the previous rolls. These rolls are made separably. (-1)
Rank 3:After a successful strike [basic attack and Jutsu hit] by the user while this bloodline is active, the opponent will have a 15% chance of having their next chakra based attack fail, rolled on a d100, with the result of a 1-15 being a success. The opponent will also have a 10% chance to have 75% of the technique's base damage thrown back at them rolled in a similar fashion as the previous rolls. These rolls are made separably. (-1)
Rank 4: After a successful strike [basic attack and Jutsu hit] by the user while this bloodline is active, the opponent will have a 20% chance of having their next chakra based attack fail, rolled on a d100, with the result of a 1-20 being a success. The opponent will also have a 15% chance to have 100% of the technique's base damage thrown back at them rolled in a similar fashion as the previous rolls. These rolls are made separably. (-2)

Surging Recurrence (Oonami Saihatsu)

The final aspect in the Ageshio main bloodline comes from the incomparability with foreign chakra in the system of the Ageshio. As their name suggests, their chakra in nature is both ebbing and surging flowing forward and backward like whirling tides. As this is the case, certain derivatives of chakra will not be able to fully affect the Ageshio in typical ways. The foreign chakra stays on their skin, where they are able to mix it with outgoing chakra and spread it to another target. In the lower stages, the foreign chakra will remain with the user, but in the advanced stages of the bloodline, the user will be able to purge themselves of the foreign chakra while returning it. It would appear to some as if the bodies of the Ageshio are nearly perfect and naturally reflect any impurities. Were there not a political breakdown prior to the fall of Uzushiogakure, perhaps these guardians would have protected their home for eternity in the land of longevity.

Clan Skills;

Ebbing Strike
Bloodline: Maru Tecchi
Description: Having heired from the land of the Whirling Tides, the Ageshio clan has not forgotten their roots of watery ways. While the clan is not based off of water, their chakra is so attuned to the element, they they will find it spilling over when their bloodline courses through their veins as if the liquid were floating around them. The technique was created back on the uptopic island and has migrated as the clan journey across the land. Typically those who wish to learn this addendum to their martial arts will find a mountain spring to facilitate the learning process.
Effect: As long as the user's bloodline is active, they may apply the bonuses warranted by 'Subtle Elements; Water' to their Taijutsu attacks as if it were a water element jutsu. They will automatically gain the full bonus as though there were a large body of water present in the area.
Cost: -1

Cosmic Mechanics
Clan: Ageshio [May be taught, see clause]
Description: The Ageshio clan were renowned in their homeland for working in their laboratories and research centers in the Country of Whirlpools, for finding the way certain elements came together and formed new elements. Though they were able to pair lesser combinations, they would not be satisfied until they learned how to manipulate the element that held their planet together. With such strong secrets, the clan kept to themselves this knowledge. This was until they were forced to flee Uzushiogakure no Sato, where in their integration in their new home, decided that with their dwindling numbers, they could not afford for such knowledge to be extinguished. Occasionally they will select couple of outsiders to pass on their knowledge. It was no surprise that gravity was their prime element, heralding from an island where water, earth, wind and lightning passed frequently. The researchers of the ageshio were able to develop quick ways of teaching their students to utilize gravity. Gravity is one of the four fundamental interactions of nature, responsible for giving mass weight and orbit to planets, keeping them from colliding. Gravitation is a consequence of the curvature of spacetime which governs the motion of inertial objects. The mathematical constant of Earth's gravity places it at 9.81 meters per second (22 miles per hour).
Effect: The user may gain the Combinational; Gravity skill at the cost of -1, in addition to gaining the skill 'Subtle Elements; Water' skill for free.
Clause: If the user would already receive 'Subtle Elements; Water for free, they will receive 'Earth' for free, failing that, they will receive 'Wind' for free. The user must be level 30, unless they are a Prodigy+, then they may learn this whenever they have access to 3 of the elements needed to make Gravity. An outsider from the clan may learn this skill for a 10 post training. Only two PCs as outsiders may learn this skill.
Cost: -1

Gravity Well
Clan: Ageshio [May be taught, see clause]
Description: With more time to study their ground breaking research on the planetary sustaining element gravity, the Ageshio invested their knowledge into manipulating the very core of gravity and tapping into its fundamentals. In repeated exposure to the element and its suspended use, they were able to teach the chakra invested into its technique to remain in existence for a few extra seconds as a recoil before the energy of the chakra burns out completely, as most chakra does seconds after being released from the body. The gravity well only contains a small portion of the chakra and uniquely the kind that doesn't directly destroy the body, while the type of chakra used to weaken a body and perception remain.
Effect: If a technique of the gravity element misses its target, on the following response phase the target must roll a d100. If the result is a 1-40, the status effects and stat subtractions are applied as if the target were hit with the technique. No status effect may exceed its maximum duration and no other bonuses may add on to this. If a technique's final to-hit is below 40%, then the accuracy of this effect is the same as well. The stat subtractions are reduced to 80% (rounded down) of their original output.
Clause: The user must already have the skill 'Cosmic Mechanics'. An outsider from the clan may learn this skill for a 10 post training. Only two PCs as outsiders may learn this skill.
Cost: -3

Spactari Seal (Seal of the Watcher)
Clan: Uzushiogakure Clans [x]
Description: The scholars of Uzusiogakure no Sato were well renowned for their ability to create and modify novel and ancient seals, which was one of the main ingredients within the process of becoming the 'Land of Longevity'. The Spectari (watcher) Seal was created for that very purpose, it slows the signs of aging. The seal prototype was called the Specter because with more time, comes more observations- literally one will watch the rest of the world age and change as they go through the process slowly. The technicians designed the seal in a triangle type formation, as it was a mixed project of each of the Presitgie Three Families, the Ageshio, Naiyume and Uzumaki clans. Each clan would be able to use the seal with a certain number of rules and restrictions while also being able to spread the seal to worthy individuals who were too precious to come under the aging process. With the seal placed at the base of the skull on the neck, it interferes with the chakra and natural energy going through the central nervous system and eases the strain on the subject. By easing the strain and creating a miniature chakra field emitting from the seal, not only is the subject able to slow down their aging process, but gain a small boon in chakra recovery.
Effect: The normal age ratio of this character becomes 2:1 (e.g. the user will age at half of the normal rate, for every two years that passes, the character will age by one year). Unwilling placement may inverse these effects and it is determined by the person placing the seal. Natural chakra regeneration is increased by 2%, this does not count as an advanced regeneration skill and this bonus is suspended when advanced regeneration skills are not. This seal would later open up branches for a stronger age fighting seal, exclusive to the Naiyume clan.
Clause: The character that this is being placed on must be given by one of the members of the Prestige Three [Ageshio, Naiyume, Uzumaki] and only to families belonging to Uzushiogakure. However, with a 2/3 vote of the family, the seal may be placed on a non-familial candidate. It is unlawful for the seal to be placed on anyone under the age of 20, on someone who does not have the permission of the Prestige Three, or to activate the inverse effects of the seal (unless one is forced to place the seal. Unlawful is synonymous with Forbidden and the result is becoming a missing-nin.
