Clan Progenitor:

Ōtsutsuki Kaguya - 大筒木カグヤ | Once hailed as a Princess and a God, Ōtsutsuki Kaguya is known by only the most knowledgeable of shinobi scholars as the very origin of chakra within humanity. It was this legendary figure that served to found both the Ōtsutsuki clan and, through her lineage, the known shinobi world. Though Kaguya is not the literal progenitor of the clan, any history of the clan's founding on their home-world has been lost to time.

Clan Head:

• Ōtsutsuki Togame - 大筒木とがめ | Though instated at the young age of 17, Togame successfully protected the clan from N.C.I.A discovery during the reign of the Kumogakure Imperial Era, and continues to lead the clan with protective and isolationist policies.

Clan Status:

• Infamous | Though the clan is unknown to most younger shinobi, it has existed in the minds of scholars and historians of Shinobi history as the clan that served to create the world as it is currently know. Though time has allowed them to primarily fall to obscurity, most knowledgeable shinobi typically at least recognize the name.

Clan Age:

• Prehistoric | The Ōtsutsuki clan predates all other known shinobi social constructs, and indeed is known to be the progenitor to some of the most famous and powerful clans in the world. Members of the Ōtsutsuki were known to have been the very origin of Ninjutsu as the world currently knows it. The clan is said to have originated on another world entirely, though much of the history from that era has been lost even within the clan.

In the beginning, the world was tempered only by the conflict of mankind. For untold centuries, mankind waxed and wanes in periods of great warfare- they cared only to conquer and subdue. Over these blood-soaked years, a tree began to grow- a tree nourished by the lives of fallen warriors. This tree became great and mighty, touching the clouds in its prime; it was called Shinju, the God Tree. Once in a millennium, the Shinju would give birth to a singular fruit. This fruit was decreed sacred by men and their rulers and they were forbidden to touch it- it was to simply wither away and be revered as the host of the Gods. It was during this era of cyclic death and rebirth that the primordial Ōtsutsuki clan descended from the heavens and settled the land of men. For a time, they lived among them as reclusive observers from another world, content to simply exist and observe. Over time, the Ōtsutsuki became integrated with human society and joined them as neighbors and friends, and eventually, comrades in arms. After eventually becoming embroiled in the wars of mankind, Ōtsutsuki Kaguya- the Princess and Ruler of the Ōtsutsuki grew to long for peace among her brethren and their human allies. Kaguya violated the most sacred of humanity's oaths and ate of the Shinju's fruit, thus granting her the First Chakra. Using her new-found power, Princess Kaguya put an end to the wars of mankind and unified them as a singular people beneath the banner of the Ōtsutsuki clan. For her deeds in ending the eternal conflict, Kaguya was worshipped as "Usagi no Megami" [ 卯の女神 ] - the Rabbit Goddess. The Earth became her Garden and for a time, it was beautiful. It was during the era of the Rabbit Goddess that Ōtsutsuki Kaguya birthed Ōtsutsuki Hagoromo and Ōtsutsuki Hamura, who also inherited the First Chakra.

With time, however, Ōtsutsuki Kaguya grew to distrust humans and feared that they would again take up arms against her in an attempt to return to their warring ways. She grew despotic and ruled humanity with cruelty, eventually coming to trap her "enemies" within the dream-prison of the Infinite Tsukuyomi, wherein they would slowly lose their humanity and be reduced to mindless creatures known only as Zetsu. She became known to the world simply as Oni [ 鬼 ] - The Demon. In her madness, the Demon of the Shinju grew furious that her sons had inherited her Chakra, and she sought to slay them and reclaim their Chakra by merging with the Shinju and becoming the Ten Tailed Demon. Hagoromo and Hamura fought their mother and eventually defeated her, separating her Chakra from her Body. Hagoromo sealed the Chakra of the Ten Tailed Demon within himself, and with his brother, bound the husk of his mother's corpse to the Moon. With the world again freed of oppression, Hagoromo went on to develop the concept of Ninshū - Peace through Chakra. He shared his chakra with humanity, while Hamura lead the Ōtsutsuki Clan to settle the moon and guard the body of Princess Kaguya for the rest of humanity's existence. While upon the moon, Hamura gave the Ōtsutsuki his celestial decree that should Hagoromo's teachings be abandoned, and the world fall again into warfare, the Ōtsutsuki should descend to restore peace to humanity.

Upon the moon, the Ōtsutsuki were prolific and grew to number in the hundreds as time would pass. Hoping to never fall prey to the temptation to descend along a path similar to Kaguya, the clan sealed their own Byakugan within a mystic vessel - the Tenseigan [ エネルギー体 ], and lived out their lives blind but peaceful. As humanity began to again adopt a mindset of warfare, so too did the Ōtsutsuki as they observed their distant brethren. A schism began to build within the clan, which lead to the separation between a Main Family and a Branch Family. The Main Family believed that humanity could be restored again to order if they were given time to see the error of their ways, while the Branch Family felt that a more militant approach was necessary to return humanity to the peace given by Hagoromo and Hamura. The families fought for many years, but ultimately saw the Tenseigan fall into the hands of the Branch Family. In a decisive maneuver, they unleashed the vessel's powers upon the Main Family and saw their remaining numbers utterly destroyed. The utilization of their sacred relic had cost the Branch Family a considerable amount of energy, causing many of them to fall into the grip of sickness shortly after their decisive victory. The Ōtsutsuki were diminished. Their remaining numbers dwindled and dwindled until only a single boy remained to oversee the Celestial Decree and their Kingdom upon the Moon: Ōtsutsuki Toneri.

hgEvFAT.png

Ōtsutsuki Toneri saw his father perish at a young age and was left in the care of the complex mechanical puppets controlled by the chakra of the Tenseigan. From his lonely palace upon the moon, Toneri watched the world of humanity with interested. While he came to see that his family had been correct in their notion that humanity required "correcting", he also looked to the descendants of Hagoromo for potential allies in his endeavor. It was within the clans spawned from his ancestral uncle that Toneri found something peculiar: a girl with white eyes. As he grew, Toneri continued to watch this girl, eventually coming to know her name as Hyūga Hinata. In her, he saw what it was that his ancestors had so desired in the world. She was peaceful, timid, and caring-- in every right, she was the Princess that deserved to inherit the world. No longer was Toneri's crusade one of destruction- it was one of rebirth. The girl that had been disowned by her father and ignored by her own love would be the woman that would inherit a new, peaceful world. Toneri decided that he had to take her away from the weeds that strangled her and destroy them so that she could be allowed to prosper in the love that she deserved- his love.

After Toneri had gained enough strength to be able to utilize the power of the Tenseigan vessel, he projected his image to the Earth in an attempt to gain the Hyūga clan's compliance in his plan to destroy the world. Though he was refused, he forcibly captured the Byakugan of Hyūga Hanabi and implanted it within himself, unlocking a power that had not been seen within the clan since Hamura. He used Hanabi to lure Hyūga Hinata to the moon, where he captured her and persuaded her to marry him. He soon discovered that her agreement to marry him had been one done only out of necessity to save Hanabi and grew enraged. In his anger, he assumed direct control of Hinata's mind and forced her to go through with the marriage; despite being brainwashed by Toneri's chakra, Hinata was saved from the wedding by her future husband, Uzumaki Naruto. The Orange Hokage and Toneri did battle on the surface of the moon, leading to Toneri's eventual defeat. After his stolen Byakugan was returned, he was taken to meet the spirit of Hamura, whereupon he discovered that his family had misinterpreted the Celestial Decree. Thoroughly ashamed for his actions, he swore to remain upon the moon and atone for his sins.

jIyC2dY.png

Toneri remained upon the moon for many years, though he was haunted by the memory of a fleeting happiness within the arms of someone that he loved. Though he knew that Hinata was now decidedly beyond his reach, the sole Ōtsutsuki secretly returned to the Earth to search again for the warmth of another. Upon the Earth, he did not search long before he found a peaceful passion within a woman of humble beginnings. He settled with her and cast his time as the inheritor to Hamura's legacy and the would-be destroyer of humanity behind him and began a family. Like his ancestors before him, Toneri was prolific and fathered many children, each coming to question their origins and why it was that they stood apart from their classmates and friends- literal aliens. Reluctant to relive the atrocities committed by his family and distant ancestors, Toneri taught each of his children of Ninshū and their clan's history, declaring that they should only ever use their incredible chakra to protect themselves and their families; to the children of Toneri, chakra was to be a tool of peace, not a weapon with which to wage war.

Soon, the children of Toneri united their own descendants into a cohesive, united Ōtsutsuki clan. They grew in number and individual power but ultimately remained a reclusive and secretive organization, initially preferring not to allow the world to be tempted by their existence to carry out any atrocities on their kin while seeking their ancient and famed kekkei genkai. Though the world remained peaceful for a time, it began a slow descent again into war and strife as those that lived through the events of Kaguya's revival began to join the ranks of the deceased. Confused by humanity's apparent desire to eliminate themselves, the Ōtsutsuki ventured again into the world in an attempt to apply a fresh salve to a newly opened global wound. For a time, they were successful in restoring harmony to those places that they touched- and for a time, their life was peaceful.

f3mJl3W.png

The time of peace and unity came to a sudden end when Kumogakure no Sato opted to abruptly take over the world through a frighteningly successful blitzkrieg. Eventually, the Ōtsutsuki were discovered by the N.C.I.A and were presented with the option to either join their ranks or face decimation. The clan head, Ōtsutsuki Togame, refused their ultimatum and joined her clansmen in raising arms against the Imperial Incursion against their peace and freedom. Though they pushed off the initial assault lead by the N.C.I.A, many members of the clan were slain or rendered otherwise missing; their sudden decline in numbers lead Togame to again implement reclusive and secretive policies that would protect the clan from any other future attempts to utilize their power for violent purposes. The clan remains mostly missing on the global scene to this day, as they have re-established Toneri's bridge to the Moon and are believed to have returned to their "homeland".

18px-%C5%8Ctsutsuki_Symbol.svg.png Clan Kekkei Mōra

Le1ufqc.gif

78lfITs.png Tenseigan | 転生眼 | Reincarnation Eye

First unlocked by the brother to the Sage of Six Paths, Ōtsutsuki Hamura, the Tenseigan (lit. Reincarnation Eye), is an evolution of the Byakugan produced when the White Eyes are allowed to mingle with the potent chakra latent within members of the Ōtsutsuki clan. Though not necessarily common within the clan, the bloodline's frequency of appearance has increased since the clan has abandoned the practice of sealing their eyes within a mystic container, also referred to as the "Tenseigan".

When dormant, the Tenseigan appears very similarly to the Byakugan. Its wielders have white, lavender, or grey eyes with mostly unseen pupils, though this has been known to vary based on time and lineage. When activated, the Tenseigan spills out from the user's pupils with a vibrant, icy, hue. The wielder's pupil darkens to a dark blue, while the rest of the iris fades from white to a rich azure hue. The Tenseigan's activation abandons the veins that bulge naturally from a Byakugan wielder's temples when their kekkei genkai is active.

Similar to the Byakugan, many of the Tenseigan's natural abilities are bound to its wielder's vision. Though the Tenseigan loses the 360 degree vision expansion of the Byakugan, it maintains a similar level of visual acuity and, with training, telescopic vision. The Tenseigan retains the Byakugan's capacity to see chakra in all of its spectrums and to accurately perceive a creature's tenketsu.

In additional to exceptional visual prowess, the Tenseigan is the key to unlocking a potent amount of chakra latent in members of the Ōtsutsuki clan. This chakra may be manipulated freely by a wielder of the Tenseigan and can be used to augment techniques or ,at later stages of mastery, has the potential to be wrapped around its wielder as a powerful augmentation to any natural abilities they may possess. Alongside this latent chakra, the Tenseigan allows its inheritors the ability to absorb chakra from other techniques based on contact and, after infecting a target with their own Tenseigan Chakra, assimilate chakra directly from a target's chakra circulatory system.
Restrictions: Ranks of the following skills may be purchased once every 20 levels. Advanced Regeneration is suspended while this bloodline is active.

Tenseigan Activation/Upkeep

• 5% Total Chakra •

Tenseigan Chakra Mode Activation/Upkeep

• 10% / 5% Total Tenseigan Chakra •

Tenseigan Vision - Rank [ - ]

Effect: While the Tenseigan is active, a character with this skill’s Accuracy, and Evasion are increased by 1.25x per rank in this skill, with ‘x’ being equivalent to the wielder’s level. While Tenseigan Chakra Mode is active, a character with this skill may also increase a non-tank statistic of their choice by .625x per rank in this skill. The value of ‘x’ may never be less than 'y', where 'y' is equivalent to 20 + 10 for each rank of this skill, beyond the first. All statistical bonuses provided by this skill may not exceed 1.5x the base value of the individual statistics.

Description: The Tenseigan's visual acuity is comparable to its predecessor, allowing its inheritors to perform great feats of agility. Though it is initially weak, the Tenseigan's optical prowess far exceeds a standard eye, and progressively allows wielders access to incredibly telescopic vision.

Total Ranks: 4

Cost: -1

Tenseigan Focus - Rank [ - ]

Effect: While the Tenseigan is active, Genjutsu performed by an opponent of equal or lesser rank than a character with this skill incur a 10% reduction to total Ghost Damage, and effect per rank in this skill. The duration of status effects applied in this way are reduced by 1 turn per 2 ranks of this skill, to a minimum of 1. While the Tenseigan Chakra Mode is active, a character with this skill gains a number of chosen Elemental Specialties equal to their current rank in this skill minus one (1); these Elemental Specialties may not be re-chosen once selected for the first time and allow this character to purchase techniques of the corresponding element(s), though they may not use them outside of Tenseigan Chakra Mode unless they naturally possess the required Subtle Elements skills. This skill may not stack with other skills that reduce the effectiveness of Genjutsu.

Description: The ability to see chakra in its various forms is a rare gift. While the Tenseigan is active, the effects of Genjutsu are greatly diminished against those who wield the Tenseigan's visual abilities. Similar to the abilities granted by the Byakugan, the Tenseigan's ability to bypass Genjutsu and see through to the true nature of things comes naturally and easily to members of the Ōtsutsuki clan.

Total Ranks: 4

Cost: -1

Tenseigan Chakra - Rank [ - ]

Effect: While the Tenseigan is active, this character gains an additional tank statistic called “Tenseigan Chakra”. Each rank in this skill increases the total value of “Tenseigan Chakra” by 150. Tenseigan Chakra may be substituted for any other chakra cost aside from the Tenseigan upkeep. If a technique has at least 50% of its chakra cost paid for with Tenseigan Chakra, it also inflicts the status effect “Celestial Judgement” for two turns in addition to its other effects; multiple applicatons of "Celestial Judgement" are cumulative. If a technique has at least 50% of its chakra paid for with Tenseigan Chakra while Tenseigan Chakra Mode is currently active, this character generates one (1) Truth Seeking Ball as if they had performed the Gudōdama technique relative to their ninja rank. “Tenseigan Chakra” does not naturally regenerate.

Description: After awakening the Tenseigan, members of the Ōtsutsuki find themselves suddenly gifted with an excess surplus of potent chakra that serves to greatly augment their own. This chakra is flexible and strong, able to be re-purposed for almost any situation. Advanced wielders of the Tenseigan have been known to clad themselves in this chakra and greatly increase their fighting ability.

Total Ranks: 4

Cost: -1

Tenseigan Absorption - Rank [ - ]

Effect: While the Tenseigan is active, this character increases their block range against Chakra-based attacks by +5 per rank in this skill. Additionally, blocking Chakra-based attacks while the Tenseigan is active replenishes an amount of Tenseigan Chakra equal to 5x% of the blocked damage, where X is equal to the current rank in this skill that this character has. While Tenseigan Chakra Mode is active, this character's successful Physical attacks replenish Tenseigan Chakra equal to 10% of their damage dealt. This may not allow the user's Tenseigan Chakra to exceed its normal maximum.

Description: Something of an outlier within the Tenseigan's skill set is the ability to absorb a portion of chakra from attacks used against its wielders. Though it is not a complete absorption inherently, the Tenseigan wielder may learn to expand their absorption abilities to a great level and eventually nullify large portions of incoming damage.

Total Ranks: 4

Cost: -1

Celestial Judgment
Effect: Whenever a character afflicted by this status effect is blocked by a character with the Tenseigan currently active, a value equal to 15% of the total damage blocked is replenished to that character's Tenseigan Chakra statistic; this character receives unmodified damage equal to that amount.
Maximum Duration: 4 Turns

CP: 50

78lfITs.png Tenseigan Chakra Mōdo | 転生眼チャクラモード | Reincarnation Eye Chakra Mode

After appropriately expanding their Tenseigan Chakra reserviore, talented wielders of the Tenseigan may develop the capacity to shroud themselves in their kekkei genkai's unique chakra. This state is commonly referred to as "Tenseigan Chakra Mode". After the Tenseigan Chakra Mode is activated, its users become cloaked entirely within vibrant chakra- commonly teal in hue, though other atypical shades of chakra have been known to manifest. This shroud, or more accurately, this 'transformation' greatly heightens the user's combat prowess. They become stronger, faster, and the natural properties of their Tenseigan eyes are augmented. Beyond what might be considered typical fare for such enhanced states, the Tenseigan Chakra Mode automatically generates a rosary of up to nine Truth Seeking Balls, and by extension, gains the ability to wield all basic Elements with ease. While Truth Seeking Balls are not unique to the Tenseigan, this transformation grants its user the capacity to enhance the Truth Seeking Balls with their own Tenseigan Chakra. The Tenseigan Chakra Mode is unique, however, in that it is the only known state that allows its wielders to form additional Truth Seeking Balls after their original rosary has been depleted.

Effect: Tenseigan Chakra Mode may be activated in the same Setup Phase as the Tenseigan as a free action or it may be later activated during the Setup Phase as a standard action. When the Tenseigan Chakra Mode is activated for the first time in each battle, this character immediately generates the maximum number of Truth Seeking Balls capable as if they had performed the Gudōdama technique that currently corresponds with their Ninja Rank. Additionally, this character may purchase the Gudōdama technique relative to their current Ninja Rank. Any Truth Seeking Balls generated through the Tenseigan or the Tenseigan Chakra Mode's effects are suspended from play if the Tenseigan Chakra Mode is deactivated; the suspended Truth Seeking Balls will return to the user's control upon the reactivation of the Tenseigan Chakra Mode.

Requirements: All Tenseigan Core Bloodline Skills at Rank 3

Cost: -3 SP

Heavenly Manipulation of a Transient World
Effect: Characters with this skill gain the skill "Combinatorial: Gravity" for 0 SP.

Description: Since times prehistoric, the Ōtsutsuki clan has been known to have exerted a mastery over the primal forces of the world or other such celestial bodies. Specifically, the Ōtsutsuki have shown an exceptional ability to force their will upon Gravity itself. Though the power is common among members of the clan, it manifests at various ages and at differing stages of power.

Requirements: Tenseigan
Cost: -3

Resurgent Subjugation
Effect: Once per rank in Resergent Subjugation per battle, an Ōtsutsuki may choose to triple (3x) the base cost of a Gravity Ninjutsu and turn that Ninjutsu into an Area of Effect technique. If this skill is used on a technique with a per-battle usage, the amplified technique may not be used again for the duration of battle.

Description: Over time, some members of the Ōtsutsuki have developed a certain level of mastery over their Gravity ninjutsu that has allowed them to overload a technique with chakra, typically resulting in a dramatic amplification of the area effected.
Ranks: 2 | Rank 1 may be purchased at level 20, Rank 2 may be purchased at level 80.
Restrictions: Tenseigan
Cost: -2

18px-%C5%8Ctsutsuki_Symbol.svg.png Clan Techniques

Kakusan Juzu | 拡散数珠 | Scattering Rosary

Rank: Genin

Type: Ninjutsu [Gravity | Hijutsu; Tenseigan | Multi-Hit | Evolving]

Cost: 20x

Damage: 15x

Effect: This technique must be paid for using Tenseigan Chakra. For the purposes of cost and damage calculation, X may not exceed 4. For each strike of this technique that lands successfully, the target must pay additional chakra during their next main phase for any action taken equal to 3% of its total cost; this additional chakra total is additive based on the number of successful strikes. This amount is rounded down to the nearest whole number.

Description: Kakusan Juzu is one of the first techniques that a fledgling Ōtsutsuki learns after they have mastered the initial stages of their Tenseigan kekkei genkai. Using the Tenseigan Chakra generated by the bloodline’s activation, the user will form a number of masses made entirely of the Tenseigan Chakra, then use their mastery of gravity to compress those chakra masses into orbs or "beads". The target is then barraged with those dense masses of chakra. Due to the nature of the Tenseigan Chakra, when these orbs connect with their targets, they will bury themselves inside of their chakra circulatory system and cause a brief disruption of their chakra flow, often resulting in the target spending a surplus of chakra on any retaliatory techniques.

Cost: 4

Rank: Chuunin

Type: Ninjutsu [Gravity | Hijutsu; Tenseigan | Multi-Hit | Evolving]

For each strike of this technique that lands successfully, the target must pay additional chakra during their next main phase for any action taken equal to 4% of its total cost; this additional chakra total is additive based on the number of successful strikes. 18px-%C5%8Ctsutsuki_Symbol.svg.pngClan Rules
  • Only three Ōtsutsuki player characters may exist at any given time.
  • Clan Applicants will be considered with the utmost severity, as the clan's nature is not typically conducive to joining the Shinobi world.
  • Non-Player Characters may only be created by the Clan Head or with explicit permission from the Clan Head.
  • If an Ōtsutsuki character is retired, it is relegated to the position of Non-Player Character and falls under the control of the current clan head for storyline purposes. Due to the limited size of the clan, this policy is in place simply to prevent an excessive number of Ōtsutsuki characters from existing. Any storylines that involve a former-player character Ōtsutsuki's death will have the original Player of the aforementioned Ōtsutsuki consulted before they are slain or otherwise rendered incapable of being brought out of retirement.
