: Chapter 1; New Beginnings

 

The days stretched into warm weeks, the numbers fell from the calendar pages as the much anticipated countdown until a young girl started at the academy. After harassing her mother for several attempts to let her attend the local school for shinobi, until only recently she had agreed. Deep down the girl knew that her reasoning might be adequate since not only her parents but Kaori also possessed a bloodline that was thought of as some kind of curse or near evil experience. For reasons beyond her early years of life since Kaori was extremely outgoing and friendly and never seen without her normal gaggle of girly girl friends whom could be heard giggling from a mile away.

 

Kaori's life had been good to her, both her parents were respected shinobi long retired and now owned a bakery that had a booming business with a great profit margin. The spoils of being an only child with a household that made quite a living had its perks. Kaori was afforded nearly everything she asked for, which was not that often, she was not greedy and would always share what she was given with her friends.Both parents who use to be shinobi and had mastered their bloodline was a great learning experience for Kaori, both of her parents would teach her how to control her chakra and even manipulate the bloodline so she could pull small bones from her skin and use them as a weapon. Most of her friends thought it was gross that her abilities let her pull things through her skin but she very seldom used it when she was with her civilian friends.

 

Soon the countdown was over and the time for her career was about to start.The basics had been mastered in no time, thanks to her parents Kaorimastered everything within seconds of learning it and had her sensei's impressed. Everything was a breeze for her and the only thing she truly had trouble with was genjutsu, knowing full well she could pass and still be one of the top shinobi of her age she took little thought about it, instead focusing on her strengths and focusing hard on her bloodline.

 

Throughout the years she was attending the school, she became quite popular and found some people looking at her differently and made her feel awkward. Often boys would ask her silly questions and made lude comments about her and her cute face and now slowly developing body. Kaori could quench those silly notions by simply making a bone pop from her skin and she would hold it in her hand with a grin spread on her pale face. Her grin was large with her alabaster skin beaming in the summer sunlight. She had passed her exams and was now a fully fledged gennin graduating near the top of her class. Kaori wished she was on top but it was difficult to be the best when she lacked an entire skill class, that being genjutsu. When it came to hand to hand combat or using weapons, mainly her bones produced through her skin was preferable for her. Despite being younger she had a slight smug arrogant demeanor about her when it came to her unique kennkki genkki.

Description: While not the most obvious ability of the Shikotsumyaku, the body of a Kaguya is given the innate ability to regenerate itself. It is most noteable in its ability to regenerate the bones of the body, but over years of evolution their regeneration does not end at the bones. A Kaguya's skin may close in response to a wound, because of calcium deposits that rush towards the open site. With each break, cut and bruise, their bodies become more durable and is one of the many reasons the Kaguya were sought out by Orochimaru to become his next vessel.

Effect: For every rank of this skill the user has, they will regenerate +3% of their total health per turn.

Description: The warriors of the Dead Bone Pulse gain a jolt to their fighting prowess when their bones come alive. The calcium in their bodies deposit along key points in their hands and feet and make blows against their opponents even mightier. The brute force of the Kaguya savages are nearly unparalelled, whereas typical fighters employ tactics, these ninja rely on brute force. Due to their strong bodies, the Kaguya often do not fight as teams. They often see themselves as armies of one and indestructible against any foe.

Effect: When the user activates Shikotsumyaku, for every rank in this skill they will gain 1.25x Taijutsu, where x is equal to the character’s level.

Warlord’s Will

Description: The corner stone of the Kaguya legend lies in their ability to use their own bones as weapons in battle. Not only do they refuse to be without a weapon and backed into a corner, but the Kaguya bone weapons are versatile and may vary in terms of durability, might and ease of attack. As the body of the Kaguya becomes stronger, so too do their immortal bones. Any bone that is removed from the body immediately regenerates. The limb may have a delay before it is useful again, but a Kaguya battlemaster does not give their prey time to realize that.

Effect: The user may spend a Set-Up phase to create a bone weapon. Creation of Bone Weapons of the medium size, up to weapon level XY, where X is user's level and Y (is the amount of turns it takes to create the weapon).  If this is rank 2, multiply Y by 1.25.  If this is rank 3, multiply Y by 1.5.  Y may not exceed 10 turns. If the level of the weapon exceeds 100, see 'Level Economy'. Each turn preparing the weapon sacrifices that set up phase. If this is used, the user's upkeep increases by 2.5% for the turn this skill is used.  This weapons lasts until the end of the battle.

Description: The weapons harvested out of their own bodies can be made stronger than any crafted steel. The bones of a Kaguya have been known to shatter swords and cleave chakra infused blades alike. This ability is what earned Shikotsumyaku the renown as one of the greatest taijutsu abilities.

Effect: Bone crafted weapon attacks deal an additional .5x damage per rank in this skill. Whereas x is equal to the weapon's level.  Bone crafted weapons must be made by Warlord's will for this be used.  This does not stack with Warrior skills.

A player with the Crane Style will start every battle with two Balance Charges. The amount of Balance Charges will determine the effectiveness of your Crane Style techniques in battle. Unlike most other styles though, every time an enemy makes a successful hit on your character you will lose a Balance Charge. You may only lose one Balance Charge per enemy who attacks you per turn. A player may at any time sacrifice their Main Phase to restore their Balance Charges to an amount of two.

0 Charges: When using a Crane Style technique your Accuracy is considered to be 0.8x its base value.

1 Charge: When using a Crane Style technique your Accuracy is considered to be 0.9x its base value.

2 Charges: Your Crane Style techniques receive no negatives or bonuses.

3 Charges: When using a Crane Style technique your Accuracy is considered to be 1.1x its base value.

4 Charges: When using a Crane Style technique your Accuracy is considered to be 1.2x its base value.

5 Charges: When using a Crane Style technique your Accuracy is considered to be 1.3x its base value.

In addition a player with this style does not gain a Balance Charge normally. Instead, you may ‘bet’ additional Balance Charges on any Crane Style technique. If the technique makes contact then you will gain the additional Balance Charges. However, if the technique misses you will lose the ‘bet’ amount of Charges. You may only bet with Charges that you have. If you have 0 Balance Charges you may bet 1 with no penalty for a miss. The user may perform a technique that requires the use of Balance Charges.

While it is close to a normal body, there are distinct differences in bone, joint and vein structure. Alterations in blood flow and the nervous system make it difficult for traditional medicines to work in tandem with a Kaguya's natural regenerative properties.

Effect: For every rank of Immortal Vessel, total healing techniques towards this character is 10% less effective.  Required hindering trait.

Nae no Mai | 苗のダンス | Dance of Seedlings

Effect: --

Description: A simple dance, taught to the younger Kaguya when they first unlock their inherent powers. The Kaguya will swing a kick at their opponent, missing on purpose. When the foot hits, the ninja will lurch forward, thrusting an open palm at the enemy. Instead of hitting them, a small twisted spire of bone will erupt from their palm, giving them that fraction of a second of extra reach required to pierce the target.

Yakaisou no Mai | イポメアのダンス | Dance of the Venetian Mask

Type: Taijutsu [ Hijutsu; Shikotsumyaku | Hijutsu; Kaikashin Buyō ]

Rank: Genin

Cost: 20 Stamina + 20 Chakra

Damage: 0 Damage

Effect: Target is [Afraid (Fear Stage 2)] for Two Turns. The jutsu must be cast in battle to gain this effect. If it is used prior to battle, its cost must be paid again for the effect to occur.

RP Effect: User gains a “Bone Mask” to wear. You know what a mask does.

Description: Designed to capitalize on the fear of their clan, The Venetian Mask involves the user intentionally putting on a display. Their bones ripple under the skin, pulsing and moving, occasionally breaking free, before the ninja in question puts a hand to the face and pulls lightly. From their face, a mask of bone will sprout, until it covers the head near completely. Each Kaguya’s mask is different, often based on their personality and the desired effect on the target. Some Kaguya will wear the mask as a day to day affair, aiding with their stealthier missions. Then, when it comes time for battle, they will alter their masks into a more fearsome look, often simulating multiple attackers, or just to strike fear anew.

Matsuma no Mai | 松葉のダンス | Dance of Pine Needles

Type: Taijutsu [ Hijutsu; Shikotsumyaku | Hijutsu; Kaikashin Buyō ]

Damage: 5x Damage

Effect: This jutsu is a multi-strike jutsu and is modified by Accuracy and Taijutsu at a ratio of 40:5. X for this jutsu equals the number of needles produced by this jutsu. This number cannot be greater than 5.

Description: The simplest of bone manipulation, a Kaguya will force a sliver of bone to the tip of their finger, balancing it there. Then with a simple flick of the wrist, the sliver will fly off at an opponent. Accomplished Kaguya will often balance an entire hand of slivers before launching them, increasing the jutsu’s potential.

Flying Crane Kick | Tsurumaishuu

Type: Taijutsu [Crane] 

Rank: Gennin 

Cost: 48 Stamina + 20 Stamina (Optional) 

Damage: 60 

Effect: The user may sacrifice their setup phase and pay the optional cost in order to give this technique an additional 10 damage and inflict the enemy with 'Fazed' for one turn. 

Description: The user will raise both hands into the air, balancing on one foot. With a quick jump and snap of their leg they will bring their planted foot upwards to connect with the opponent's head. Given a moment of focus this attack can be devastating.

Hidden Mist Style; Predator Disabling Technique

Type: Taijutsu [Kiri; Crane]

Cost: 150 Stamina 

Damage: 90 

Effect: Opponent is 'Immobilized' for 2 turns, 'Bleeding' 20 for 1 turn. Must have four (4) Balance Charges to use this technique; Does not spend these Charges. Must have some type of edged weapon equipped. 

Description: Often possessed by Kiri hunter-nin in the past as a first strike against any missing-nin before attempting any form of capture. Usually this is done by darting around and behind the enemy nin and slashing the back of their legs. If they do not die outright, they are unable to move. However, missing-nin use this equally often as a way to disable their captors and create and opening to either kill their captors or escape from them.

High Rise Tidal

Type: Taijutsu [Crane] 

Rank: Gennin 

Cost: 56 Stamina 

Damage: 20 

Effect: Opponent is 'Clobbered' for one turn. 

Description: This technique is initiated by first kneeling on one knee in front of the opponent and then flipping backwards; nailing them beneath the chin with the user’s heel. While the opponent has momentarily left their abdomen exposed, the user dashes forward again. During the final step of the dash, the user begins to rotate and finishes the combo with a full roundhouse kick. This leaves the heel crushing into the opponent’s belly. So called, because not only does it resembles the rising and falling of a tidal wave, but it also leaves the opponent shivering; unable to rest. This is due to minor internal damage that removes the ability to rest momentarily, but soon wears off.

Water Clone | Mizu Bunshin no Jutsu

Type: Ninjutsu [Clone; Kiri; Water] 

Rank: Chuunin 

Cost: 50 Chakra 

Effect: Each Water Clone has 50 Health, 10% of the user's Chakra & Stamina, and 10% of the user's remaining stats. When Water Clones use Water element techniques, they are considered to meet the requirements for being near a large body of water. The user may sacrifice one (1) clone during their turn as a free action in order to meet the requirements for being near a large body of water for the remainder of that turn. Maximum of five (5) clones may be created. 

Description: Using surrounding water from the environment, the user creates a series of clones that take on the appearance of the user with a shimmer of transparency due to the water. A proficient user can solidify the water fully to make a perfect replica, but many disregard to in the heat of combat as it takes extra concentration they doesn't honestly help the clones do their job. When destroyed the clones simply turn back to water.

Your techniques are the old versions, and you don't actually have the style required for them anyways. I just updated the Kaguya Clan page to have the current style and all the current techniques, please have a look and update accordingly. The only technique that isn't valid anymore that I can think of is "Dance of Cannabis"
