Personality: Kishin is a slightly introverted person, although he likes company of other people, he prefers to be alone. This is mostly because he feels as if others are slowing him down. Never skipping a training, Kishin strives to be a strong shinobi, and he will do it by any means possible. He likes speaking sarcastically. He doesn't show his emotions to people, since he sees emotions only as a burden that slow his progress. He doesn't really care when something of importance happens unless it affects him. His intrigue in manipulating people's minds made him interested in genjutsu to the point where he is obsessed with it.

History: Born and raised to a small middle class ninja family in Otogakure, Kishin was living an ordinary and boring life. They lived in the more wealthy parts of the village, which made them able to purchase enough food to live on. Being an only-child, his parents were overprotective of him. Always wanting to be a shinobi, he begged his parents to let him become one. The idea of earning money has never really appealed to him, instead, because of the boredom in his life, he wanted to fight, which he would accomplish by becoming a ninja. Mostly being in his room, Kishin was bored, so he had to entertain himself with music and his imagination. This made him interested in genjutsu. At the age of 10 he started going to forests, since this was the only place he felt truly comfortable in, and his parents started teaching him the basics of chakra manipulation and genjutsu, finally making his life more exciting. The nearest forest was pretty far away from his home, but he still went there because he felt that this place would calm his mind, so he could practice his chakra control. at age of 12, his parents would allow him to enter the ninja academy. Finally, he would be able to become a shinobi. He didn't really like most of the other academy students as he saw them as annoyance. Shortly after turning 13, Kishin became a Gennin and chose to wear his forehead protector on his right arm, simply because it was more comfortable, and celebrated with his family. Because of the great drought most forests that Kishin went to died, so he had to find solace in other calming places. His choice for the time being were caves. After becoming a gennin, his parents taught him the basis of sound manipulation, as well as a sound release genjutsu. At this point of time Kishin is mostly spending time in caves, honing his chakra control, practicing sound release and waiting to be assigned a mission.

V. Genjutsu

 

Genjutsu   Creator

"When the world is not what you wish of it- change it". When you were told this as a young child you may have taken it a bit too literally.
Genjutsu reduces non-tank stats of opponents by 5x additional points per rank in this skill, where x is equal to your ninja rank. If an attack reduces multiple non-tank stats the user may choose to divide this bonus between those stats however they want. You may never apply more than 10 combined ranks of Genjutsu Creator, Martial Artist, and Ninjutsu Mastery to a single attack.

Genjutsu Shaper The human mind is such a soft, soft thing. So easy to manipulate with the right pressure.
For every rank in this skill, status effects the user inflicts with Genjutsu on opponents have a chance to last one post longer based on the opponent's dodge roll. This will not allow you to break the maximum post duration of any status effect.
Rank 1: On a dodge roll of a 1-20, status effects last one turn longer.
Rank 2: On a dodge roll of a 1-40, status effects last one turn longer.
Rank 3: On a dodge roll of a 1-60, status effects last one turn longer.

V. Genjutsu archetypes

 

Elemental Archetype Traditionally, elements are comprised solely of Yang energy, while illusions are fulled by Yin energy. With a degree of mastery, one can mimic the formation of Yang energy like the Sage of the Six Fold Paths once did and bring their dreams to reality. Shinobi are trained to use unstable forms of chakra in this creation, leading their attacks to be more damaging.
Users that focus on this archetype will gain the ability to use the Subtle Element and Combinatorial Element skills with Genjutsu    techniques, replacing any physical damage bonuses with ghost damage. In addition, the user will receive +5% to their base ghost damage when they use elemental Genjutsu. The player still needs to have the Subtle Element and Combinatorial skills to use corresponding Genjutsu of that element.

Subtle Elements; Wind May use Wind element techniques. Any response phase techniques used in response to a Wind Techniques have an additional 10% chance to fail. All 5 'Subtle Element' skills share ranks. 1   -1 SP

Effect: May use Sound Element techniques. Sound Techniques have a +4% chance to hit. As well, when in a small enclosed area they gain +10% effect, rounded up. In addition, the user may choose to apply the bonus from one of the Subtle Element skills required to learn this skill.

V. Basic paths

 

The Path of the Mesmer Many people walk this earth not content with living in reality— Mesmers prefer to create their own realities. A Mesmer is a person who works in the arts of persuasion, illusion, and trickery. They will use physical and non physical means to get their way, often through the aid of Genjutsu. Able to talk circles around even the most cunning of politicians, a skilled Mesmer could talk a brick mason into buying his own bricks. These people always have a plan, even if it is not obvious to those around them. Cunning and mysterious define a Mesmer, and they are often found rising to the top of organizations one way or another.
Effect: For every 100 points in Concentration, this character gains an additional +1% to hit with Genjutsu based attacks.

Persuasive Master: 
- Focused Mind: Gain 3 ranks of 'Genjutsu Shaper' for free.
- Perceptive Mind: May gain ranks of 'The Seeing Mind' for 1 skill point.
RP Guide:
- Character should have a proficiency in Genjutsu at least to some degree. They also will often make use of persuasion to achieve the goals they assert for themselves. Cunning and mysterious, the true goals of a mesmer are often just out of reach of those around them.

Body Replacement Technique | Kawarimi no Jutsu

Effect: This technique may be performed as a Free Action in the Response Phase following a failed dodge roll. When determining the cost of this technique "x" is equivalent to the cost of 1 basic attack or small weapon attack that the user failed to dodge. The damage and effects of that basic attack or small weapon attack are negated. The user may take no action in the Setup Phase or Main Phase on the turn this technique is used. This technique has a 5% chance to fail. This technique may be performed 1 time per battle. 
Description: A life-saving technique for most young shinobi, the Body Replacement Jutsu has been a staple in academy learning for many years. By utilizing their ability to manipulate chakra, with quick movement, a skillful shinobi is capable of switching their position with another object to evade damage. By creating a simple optical illusion, the user of the Kawarimi no Jutsu can make it appear as though they were damaged or even killed by the opponent's attack. Some ninja become extremely adept in the usage of this technique, and have even been known to swap places with hazardous materials to trap their enemies.

Clone Technique | Bunshin no Jutsu
Type: Ninjutsu 
Rank: Academy Student 
Cost: 5x Chakra 
Effect: This technique may be used in the Setup Phase or Main Phase. When determining the cost of this technique "x" is considered to be the number of "Clones" created by the user and may never be greater than 2. "Clones" have 1 Health and 1% of the user's other statistics. "Clones" are not physical, and may not use items, techniques or attack during their turn. The user of this technique gains +20 Evasion or +20 Accuracy for every "Clone" on the battlefield. The effects of 'Clones' may be ignored by any character with heightened senses (i.e; Byakugan, Path of the Sensor, Inuzuka Smell Tracker, etc). This technique may be used in the Setup Phase 1 time per battle. 
Description: A technique that most students are required to be proficient in before they can graduate from the academy, the Bunshin no Jutsu is the most basic of the myriad of clone techniques that exist in the world. By properly molding their chakra, the user is capable of creating near perfect replicas of themselves. Unlike most bunshinjutsu, the basic clone technique does not produce physical clones but creates something more akin to a projected image, which is a real image that has no form. The Clone Technique is considered an E-Ranked jutsu, and is not very powerful, but with practice and ingenuity many shinobi have come to use it in masterful ways. Most often stalling by hiding out among their clones, or setting themselves up for a strong offensive.

Transformation Technique | Henge no Jutsu
Type: Ninjutsu

Cost: 10 Chakra 
Effect: During any situation in which a character with this technique would need to calculate their "Visibility Score", they may use this technique to reduce their "Visibility Score" by -10%. "Visibility Score" reduction caused by this technique may be ignored by any character with heightened senses (i.e; Byakugan, Path of the Sensor, Inuzuka Smell Tracker, etc). 
Description: The Transformation Technique is a time-honored staple of nearly every shinobi academy the world over. Its concept and execution are both extremely basic, making it a perfect training technique for young students. By molding chakra around their body, the user of the Transformation Jutsu is able to temporarily take on the physical characteristics of another person. Though the Henge no Jutsu rarely offers a perfect disguise, clever ninja have been using it for hundreds of years to confound their foes.

Physical Description and Personality could still use some fleshing out mate, your mechanics are all fine, but I feel you could still do a little more to flesh your character out. You should also probably read the NA Calendar and look at the current date, our character's age, and what world events were happening at the time. It'd be unlikely to avoid those things with no knowledge of them, so it can help to read up the calendar and familiarise yourself with NA's events when building your history. Otogakure is also under the effects of a long term drought that is strangling the country of its dwindling resources, and that would certainly have an effect on a young child from a small family.

Also, on a mechanical note, Ghost Damage and Damage damage different health totals, so having both can be kinda redundant. You'll essentially go into each battle, pick Genjutsu or Ninjutsu, and with your current spread use one or the other, not both. As time goes on, you can look to hybridise them to capitalise on your division and all, but it might be worth picking a second genjutsu instead of a wind ninjutsu, so you can focus on the one health and overpower that instead of chipping away at health and ghost health at the same time and taking twice as long to win.

A very little bit. I read this an hour ago, and I see maybe one sentence that's new. 

Try expanding on his history again. As Princess said, Oto is an interesting place, and you haven't really given him any sort of village flavor. Why does he hang out in forests when Otogakure is basically a huge underground city, and when his nation has lots of rice fields rather than dense forests? Does his family have enough food to go around with the drought, or is he becoming a ninja to try and make more money so they can eat?

There's lots to build on.

The history is getting better man, but it seems crazy insular. We get he likes forests, but forests are kinda Konoha's thing. Oto certainly has some, or moreover had some, but what do trees need? Water. What does Oto have none of? Water. Maybe fold that into his story, the forest he found calm in is dying due to the drought, how is that going to affect his psyche? What changes to his life would losing his safe place make? We've glossed over some of the major things in Oto, our goal is to get you to take those hints and make them part of your character's story.

Honestly man if you can get this history down pat and make it just edge into the next level, I am willing to look the other way on the personality and physical descriptions still being smaller than I'm otherwise happy with. If you're willing to make a commitment to improving them as time goes on, I'll consider those good for now, but that history is where your character goes from a sheet of imaginary paper to part of the village. Pull out all the stops man.

Alright, your changes please me. Sorry for putting you through the ringer there mate but we want your character to be the best experience for you to play as well as other players to interact with. 

This has my approval, you need another to get it into the game, but you're half way there!
