Description:Usually seen wearing one of her two outfits, her school uniform, sleeves rolled up, and her worker clothes, covered in dirt and sturdy. she keeps her hair in a tight bob

which is easy to clean and stays out of the way. Some could see dressing like this as practical but Rei sees it as easy.

   She is a double amputee but with help from her mom and friends she gets along fine.

 

Personality: At five foot three she is smaller than most of her classmates but she is not the shyest. She lives alone at home with their mom and their cat. with the family business. Between school and work she doesnt have alot of free time but when she does she like to go to the beach and hang out with her friends.

     A Lot of the villagers mistake her lazer focus for carelessness, but she would say they are missing the big picture.

When alone she reads old adventure storys her old neighbour lends her, she hopes in her studys to identify a small special stone that her father left her.

     Although she works with her mother repairing the villages walls and bridges, she dreams of becoming the first in their bloodline to use the special skills and artistry for scouting. Her mother disapproves of this but in the end supports rei as she knows there would be nothing they could do to stop her.

     Her father left when they were small and (thankfully) Rei doesn't remember anything of that fateful night however she is left with the reminder of what he did for the rest of her life. Usually her mother doesn't talk about him much but sometimes when the mood hits her, she will reminisce random and disconnected about their life, when she knew him.  This incomplete picture of her father frustrates Rei and so she decided that thinking about it is a distraction and has chosen to ignore that part for now.

 

History: Her father and mother met on the road.  Cassilda was traveling along a road with a vague idea of a plan when she met a man on the road. It was raining hard so she offered him a ride. They talked and one thing led to another and she ended up at his village, repairing walls and houses.

     Rei was born and the decision to set up in Kirigakure No Sato. As a child Cassilda and Itsuki could not keep their child in one spot. When ever they thought they had secured the house sufficiently enough they would spot the rambunctious toddler heading for the forest to find snakes and bugs and other unwanted critters.

     One night, when rei was 5 she woke in her bed in the middle of the night. The room was light up in the unnatural light of the full moon. She tried to turn over, but couldn't move her arms or legs. Fear gripped her small heart as she tried desperately to move under what felt like a large weight placed on her back.

     She felt a presence in the room, a shadow standing in her doorway. She wanted to cry out for her parents, but her tongue felt thick and useless in her mouth. She had to remember to breath, but the air didnt feel like enough to sustain her, she felt like she was going to suffocate.

     From the corner of her eye she could see a large figure, dressed like a bird and holding a can with a hose attached to it. From the hose thick and heavy smoke spilled onto the floor smelling like rotten flowers. The figure drew closer to her, panic rising through her.

     The figure stopped at the edge of her bed and studied her for a moment, then he leaned down. As he got closer to her she could see the features of her father, studying her reactions. She couldn't move. Her father could see the fear in her eyes.

     “Don't be afraid, I'm gonna make you perfect.”

 

     Mostly Rei doesn't remember this night. Mostly.

 

     When Rei was younger she would come with her mom on contracting jobs. Her mom had to keep a close eye on Rei as she still hadn't outgrown her wandering spirit but she did find a way to keep her rooted at least for a little while.

     When Rei was 7 her mom taught her how to read, at first the only books Cassilda owned were blueprints and carpentry books, which wouldn't hold Reis attention for very long. But their neighbor, an elderly man named Tezuka Eikichi, had a large collection of adventure books from when he was a kid that he gladly would lend to young Rei.

     These books would hold her in place, at least long enough for Cassilda to finish whatever job she was working on. Rei read them all but her favorite was an adventure series about a group of scouts making their way across the new world, exploring dangerous terrain and exploring the mysteries of the new world.

     She read these ones over and over again. Between reading and exploring, in the evening when Cassilda had no jobs she would teach Rei about the bloodline of the Obu. Most of the legends of the Obu she had to recall from memory but Rei listened to every word.

     By the time she was old enough to enroll in ninja academy she had her dream of being the first scout in her bloodline. Her mom didn't know about this but she was supportive and enrolled her in the academy. She graduated the academy and is now a genin, ready for her first assignment and ready to make her mom proud.

     She hopes to one day get arms.

Seal-less Jutsu


A dangerous yet powerful sealing method in which the ninja has the deep knowledge and ability to shape chakra imprinted into the base of their skull. The ninja is given a small seal on their occipital lobe, often beneath the hair where it is not visible. With the seal the ninja is able to shape chakra without the need of hand seals, having such intrinsic knowledge of all possible seals at the forefront of their mind. Many ninja that have gone through the operation to obtain this seal claim that closing their eyes briefly helps them see the seals and preform them. This is, however, unnecessary. Due to the location and nature of this seal, it often results in dangerous side effects that many opt to not risk.
Effect: All Ninjutsu and Genjutsu preformed by this character are considered to be Seal-less and never require the use of the hands. When a character takes this skill they lose 1000 EXP. EXP lost this way does not cause the character to lose levels.

Though the exact memories of what went wrong are obscured behind mental blocks, exposure to stimulus which reminds you of your dark past can trigger these memories, leaving you utterly broken as half-remembered traumatic images flood your mind and leave you a shaking mess.

Effect: You can never take medical ninja techniques or skills, or healing items such as soldier pills, bandages and so on (the skill Saviour is not counted for these purposes). Furthermore, you are 'Stunned'* and 'Prone' for x turns after a medical jutsu is used on you. (where x is the rank of the technique being used, gennin=1, chuunin=2 ect).

*The stun from this skill is not counted when determining the maximum duration or number of times a user can be stunned.

When determining the cost of this technique "x" is equivalent to the cost of 1 basic attack or small weapon attack that the user failed to dodge. The damage and effects of that basic attack or small weapon attack are negated. The user may take no action in the Setup Phase or Main Phase on the turn this technique is used. This technique has a 5% chance to fail. This technique may be performed 1 time per battle.

 

Description: A life-saving technique for most young shinobi, the Body Replacement Jutsu has been a staple in academy learning for many years. By utilizing their ability to manipulate chakra, with quick movement, a skillful shinobi is capable of switching their position with another object to evade damage. By creating a simple optical illusion, the user of the Kawarimi no Jutsu can make it appear as though they were damaged or even killed by the opponent's attack. Some ninja become extremely adept in the usage of this technique, and have even been known to swap places with hazardous materials to trap their enemies.

Clone Technique | Bunshin no Jutsu

 

Type: Ninjutsu

 

Rank: Academy Student

 

Cost: 5x Chakra

 

Effect: This technique may be used in the Setup Phase or Main Phase. When determining the cost of this technique "x" is considered to be the number of "Clones" created by the user and may never be greater than 2. "Clones" have 1 Health and 1% of the user's other statistics. "Clones" are not physical, and may not use items, techniques or attack during their turn. The user of this technique gains +20 Evasion or +20 Accuracy for every "Clone" on the battlefield. The effects of 'Clones' may be ignored by any character with heightened senses (i.e; Byakugan, Path of the Sensor, Inuzuka Smell Tracker, etc). This technique may be used in the Setup Phase 1 time per battle.

 

Description: A technique that most students are required to be proficient in before they can graduate from the academy, the Bunshin no Jutsu is the most basic of the myriad of clone techniques that exist in the world. By properly molding their chakra, the user is capable of creating near perfect replicas of themselves. Unlike most bunshin jutsu, the basic clone technique does not produce physical clones but creates something more akin to a projected image, which is a real image that has no form. The Clone Technique is considered an E-Ranked jutsu, and is not very powerful, but with practice and ingenuity many shinobi have come to use it in masterful ways. Most often stalling by hiding out among their clones, or setting themselves up for a strong offensive.

Transformation Technique | Henge no Jutsu

 

Type: Ninjutsu

Effect: During any situation in which a character with this technique would need to calculate their "Visibility Score", they may use this technique to reduce their "Visibility Score" by -10%. "Visibility

 

Score" reduction caused by this technique may be ignored by any character with heightened senses (i.e; Byakugan, Path of the Sensor, Inuzuka Smell Tracker, etc).

 

Description: The Transformation Technique is a time-honored staple of nearly every shinobi academy the world over. Its concept and execution are both extremely basic, making it a perfect training technique for young students. By molding chakra around their body, the user of the Transformation Jutsu is able to temporarily take on the physical characteristics of another person. Though the Henge no Jutsu rarely offers a perfect disguise, clever ninja have been using it for hundreds of years to confound their foes.

Okay, so I have a big critique on huge elements of this that will really help you iron stuff out and make this a good character in this roleplay, but there's something we need to address first.


This character clearly was not designed to fit in to this universe. They feel very heavily like a port from something or somewhere else, with ninja elements vaguely added at the start and end of the history. I feel we can work to make this a decent fit, but if that's the case I have to know going in mate. I can't be helping you patch up some elements of the story when doing so is breaking your mental picture, which is going to certainly come up when I say ditch the weird 'eyes' and faux automail arms. 

What gets me here is your last character really does feel like it belongs in Naruto, this one just feels ever so slightly off. But that is super fixable and we are happy to have you here mate, Pope mentioned you'd been around a little before but you're back with a vengeance now (or something to that effect) to me on Discord, so let's get you ready to be part of this world! Just gotta know what I'm working with first.

Huge improvements here mate, one thing to note though.

You have 7SP worth of Hinderings, which you accounted for, but you might have forgotten in this process that you receive another 2 at character creation. So with 7SP worth of Hindering Skills you should begin play with 9SP, not 7. Also for what it's worth, I suggest you space out your stats, not just have them in a line, so they look like this instead:

That way, when you're in a stat battle, finding which individual skill you need for your modifiers requires just scanning down the line instead of sorting through all the brackets for what you need.

 

Other than that, the story doesn't bother me too much anymore, just one thing sticks out. Everyone has a Japanese name except the mother, and I only know one Cassilda from any lore about and it's probably not the one you want to reference unless the mother plans on sacrificing the daughter. Do you have a justification for why her name is so different to everyone else's? If so, maybe mention that somewhere? If not, maybe give her a more Japanese name. If you want a similar themed name, Onna might do well, reference to the snow witches who eat children?

And then finally, for anyone else reviewing this, I am giving permission for Surgical Horrors. Honestly surprised someone else wants it, if it ever comes up you're utterly screwed, but it's a good thematic one and I liked it, so yay for other people also liking their broken characters!
