Moeru Tamashī no Ken | Burning Soul Sword

Description: The soul sword is an artifact that primarily hosts the majority of Ryō-Kami’s soul, the spirit of a powerful shinobi from the late Warring States Era. 

The blade itself originally had chips and rolls, lost most of its edge, and taken on rust. However, Shigeru took the spirit blade to the Seyyad Ridge during his six months of training to have the blade reforged. The hilt shifts between states of jade, gold, ivory and onyx depending on the spirits mood. It is ornamented with a curling dragon. When infused with chakra it burns with bright blue energy. Chakra funneled through the blade only enhances this effect, and in turn it assists in the effectiveness of ninjutsu.  

After his brutal death and the ensuing destruction of his clan, Ryō's spirit could not rest. After a short period, he began to fade and saved himself by grounding his spirit to the katana he had fought with in life. His powerful chakra also bled over into the sword's scabbard, infusing it with elemental energy. Many spirits have been rumored to inhabit famous weapons of the past - this blade truly does, if only a fragment of what once was.

Chakra Blade 

You can manipulate your blade to react from the strength of your chakra instead of your stamina. This involves the shape and make of the weapon, as it is an entirely different style of fighting. 

Attacks made with this weapon cost chakra instead of stamina.

Ninjutsu Honing

Weapon Type: Bladed Weapon 

In the mountainous region of Tsuchi no Kuni near the border of Sekitan no Kuni lies the mountain village of Seyyad Ridge. Seyyad Ridge is known throughout the world as the home to many top tier blacksmiths specializing in all types of metal crafting and shaping. Perhaps one of their most famous claims is their unique ability to meld a special mineral with the steel of a weapon to conduct and radiate chakra from the wielder. With the edge honed with this mineral, a blade of chakra will extend mere millimeters from the original tip of the blade. The precision of this edge is directly related to the control that the wielder can express. The smiths of Seyyad Ridge guard this smelting process as one of their most valuable secrets. Many have lost their lives from ninja who have tried to find it.  

Effect: Weapon Attacks and Weapon Jutsu that use this weapon are modified by Ninjutsu instead of Taijutsu. 

Requirement: User must travel to Tsuchi no Kuni and visit Seyyad Ridge* to purchase. 

Cost: $250 

 

Burning Weapon 

Upon a successful strike with this weapon, the target is afflicted with the status effect Burning; x with the value of 'x' being equivalent to 5% of the strike's base damage per rank in this attribute. 

Restrictions: May not be applied to a weapon in conjunction with the same attribute or the attribute 'Affliction'. 

Cost: 両100 [Rank 2] 

 

Lightened Craft 

Artisan hands have crafted this weapon with the best material available. It's weight is lower than its counterparts, but its ability has not been lessened at all. 

When calculating the cost of this weapon, treat this weapon as if it were 20x levels lower, to a minimum of level 1. The value of 'x' is the number of ranks of 'Lightened Craft'. Maximum of three (3) ranks may be purchased. This share ranks with the attribute 'Sharpened Edge'. 

Restrictions: Rank 1; Level 10 Weapon | Rank 2; Level 40 Weapon | Rank 3; Level 70 Weapon 

Cost: 両200 per Rank 

 

Defend 

Your weapon is designed to defend against taijutsu and physical attack (punches, kicks, etc). 

As an action in your Response Phase you may Block (take half damage) a single Taijutsu or Basic attack. This ability may be used a number of times equal to the times it was purchased. A character may use this ability a maximum of two (2) times per battle. 

Cost: 両200 per Rank (1) 

 

Ward 

Your weapon is designed to ward off ninjutsu attacks. 

As an action in your Response Phase you may Block (take half damage) a single Ninjutsu. This ability may be used a number of times equal to the times it was purchased. A character may use this ability a maximum of two (2) times per battle.

This sheath houses the burning soul blade, and pulses with a light blue energy. It was imbued with part of Ryō’s powerhouse chakra during his death. It has powerful warding effects against chakra.

The maximum rank you may benefit from is based on your ninja rank; Chuunin for Rank 2, Jounin+ for Rank 3. This is a triggered effect and does not stack with other Chakra Shields. May be purchased three (3) times. The price increases with each rank.

Elemental Shield, Rank 1 [Earth, Fire, Water, Wind, Lighting] 

Your armor has been chakra induced to resist a chosen type of elemental attack 

Absorbs the first (3x + 50) / (5x + 75) / (7x + 100) physical [element] damage dealt to you in combat, based on the rank of this attribute. The value of x is equal to the wearer's level. The [element] is chosen when this attribute is purchased. The maximum rank you may benefit from is based on your ninja rank; Chuunin for Rank 2, Jounin+ for Rank 3. This is a triggered effect and does not stack with Elemental Shields of the same [element]. May be purchased three (3) times per element. The price increases with each rank.
