Warr Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 (edited) 重い雷鬨の声 Banrai Geiha (Heavy Thunder Battle Cry) In the days before the sage of the five paths- before the founding of the great shinobi countries or the shinobi villages who would provide the military might for those countries who would claim such names for themselves; in the days of lore and old where the ninja clans (or those who would become them) and samurai clans fought against each other and against those who bore their burden of caste, there was a man who had once been a monk. The only son born to the seventh child of his clan's leader, despite his status as a noble he was one so minor that it did not matter. He would make no difference, he would bring no honor to his tribe. So this man, Enrai of the Karatachi Clan- disappeared into the wilderness after studying for seven long years as a samurai, and seven short years as a monk. Studying to be a teacher and priest of Jikki no Shijou, he spent seven more years. At the age of twenty-one, he had nearly finished the process of becoming a teacher- only to find his monastery under attack by a group of bandits, marauders who cared nothing but to steal and take- like animals. He hesitated, for where he had began life as a samurai he was not such a warrior any longer. Enrai once of the Karatachi clan's hesitance failed him, his preponderance and wish for peace failed him all the more by propelling his hesitance into such magnitude that he could not find the metal capacity to even move- to even fight, before his entire monastery was destroyed, and he was the last one left. In an episode which he regretted instantly when it ended- he brought forth all the rage, regret, and animal passion he had piled up in his life and he slayed every one of those bandits- down to the last man. With the cold preponderance of a deity's compassion to man, he then gathered his things, buried his fellow monks, and left the monastery and the region to spend seven long years as a hermit, alone with anyone other than himself in the mountains. In silence, simply to better understand himself. Simply to better understand the sound of a whisper, for when he returned he found his tribe, his fellow samurai- the whole of them in disarray. While they fought the samurai of the later country of Lightning's fuedal lords, the Karatachi and their daimyo faltered and blamed each other. They lost at every turn, until Enrai fourth born of Bakufu returned from his long, self-imposed exile. And with the power of his voice, decimated the armies of his clan's enemies. Made the mere sound of his country's army strike fear into their neighbors, and transformed the Karatachi lands into the Country of Thunder. Doing more, by forcing other clans to vassalize themselves to the now mighty Karatachi. This ability, this thunderous voice of his- began to become called the Banrai Geiha by his followers, and as he taught his own children to use this skill, it became clear that it might be similar to the skills that some of those peasant farmers and fishers who turned warriors and called themselves 'ninja' seemed to have. A Kekkei Genkei, or bloodline limit. And one that lasted for ten glorious generations; before disappearing for twenty more. 重い雷鬨の声 Banrai Geiha (Heavy Thunder Battle Cry) Description: The root of any person who might hope to call themselves the lord of distant thunder, Enrai-sama; is this technique, this ability, this bloodline limit skill. It is one which hundreds of his descendants half spent half of their lives to learn, but it is one that comes intensively. Those with the Banrai Geiha are born with eerily bright blue eyes and typically gold-blonde hair. Like the skies themselves during a particularly horrid storm, they predict what the voice may bring. For the kekkei genkei itself is simply reflected by those features, it is a mutation of the tenketsu near the throat, wherein the chakra when applied and attempted to be channeled by the tenketsu pathways of traditional ninjutsu and nindo are instead channeled towards the throat and channeled by one's physical pathways and simply magnified the energy and breath within their chest. Effects: Allows the user access to sound ninjutsu as if they had the effects of 'combinatorial elements; sound' and if they do purchase the combinatorial elemenets; sound skill, these affects stack. Stated clearly, alone Banrai Geiha provides the user use of sound ninjutsu and the +4% to hit provided to Sound Ninjutsu, (Plus the +10% to Effects if in an enclosed area and the choice of providing the bonus given either by lightning type techniques or wind type techniques) but if the user has Banrai Geiha -and- combinatorial elements; sound, their Sound Ninjutsu gains +8% to hit, and plus 20% to effects if in an enclosed area. Cost: -2 SP 轟音山の秘密の聖歌 Yaminari no Seika (Sacred Chant of the Roaring Mountain) Description: One of the first lessons that the sound of a whisper taught Enrai was what the sound of a true shout sounded. From the audible shroud that was the chirping of birds and bubbling of water upon the mountain top which he rested upon, Enrai learned the true trembling rage and energy of the mountain itself, and learned to replicate it. To magnify his voice via chakra, and more than simply magnify it, but transform it to a decibel so loud that he could be upon an open plain and those around would hear the clear cut of his voice as if he was sitting across a table from them playing a game of Shogi. So too; for any of his descendants who were gifted and lucky enough to be born with the Banrai Geiha, learning the sound of a whisper could magnify the sound of their own roar. Effects: Omit the clause 'if within an enclosed area' from combinatorial elements; sound. In addition, for every 100 points in Ninjutsu and Concentration [combined or otherwise] decrease the stamina cost of the user's taijutsu by 2%. The maximum reduction that can provided by this skill is 30%. This skill cannot stack with any other skills that reduce Stamina cost. Requirements: Banrai Geiha Cost: -3 SP 雷のワシの王座 Zasho no Washi no Tenrai (Throne of the Eagle of Thunder) Description: The thundering energies of a holder of the Banrai Geiha's instinctive sound techniques, along with the lightning type chakra so often gained by those who live within the two countries 'of storm', are more than simply seperate things. They are the pillars upon which the thunderbirds of legend would place their throne. They are near duplications of the chakras of those beasts themselves, and for one who spends enough time looking, and learns enough- they will find that they truly are fit to be like the thunderbirds, using sound and lightning to carve out a throne for themselves- a place to call down their thundering voice. Someone who has Zasho no Washi no Tenrai has practiced enough with their voice, with sound ninjutsu, and with lightning type ninjutsu- to inadvertently awaken a secret element that only those who have the heavy thunder battle cry have ever awakened, the 'thundering voice'. Effects: Allows for access of 'Thundering Voice' techniques, which are considered for all intents and purposes to be a third tier-element/second tier-combinatorial element consisting of lightning and sound type techniques. Thundering Voice type techniques are considered to be sound type techniques for purposes of bonuses and skills. When utilizing a Thundering Voice type technique, the user has a 20% chance to deal metabolic shock upon an opponent with a successful hit. In addition, thundering-voice type techniques are allowed the benefits of combinatorial elements; sound, as if the user was using a sound type technique. Requirements: Banrai Geiha Cost: -2 SP 妨げられて雷 Mufuku Kaminari (Unhindered Thunder) Description: It is truly hard to silence a songbird, and harder than that to silence the sound of an oncoming storm. The same is true with a user of the heavy thunder battle cry. No matter if their hands are filled with other objects, or they are bound- even gagged, the user may find themselves capable of using the techniques which they have honed. All you need is a voice and words. Effects: For each rank in this skill, reduce the additional cost of sealless personal Sound Type Ninjutsu, Thundering Voice Type Ninjutsu, and Lightning-Type Ninjutsu/Taijutsu hybrids by 25%. Ranks: 2 Requirements: Banrai Geiha Cost: -2 SP per Rank 雷鳴の相 Dankai no Todorokasu (Thundering Phase) Description: There is an ability that the members of the Karatachi Clan have long whispered, for the powers of Banrai Geiha- while formidable as they are, even have limit. There were whispers of Enrai himself entering what seemed to be a rage when facing his most formidable enemies, and somehow evening the gap in power by exerting himself. He entered a phase where his voice seemed to shimmer through his whole body, and movements caused thunder-cracks. This 'Thundering Phase' as legend caused it, lead to his defeat of many enemies upon the battlefield; and had not been seen since Enrai himself. Until the current generation. Upkeep: 5% Stamina/5% Chakra. Effects: The user has mastered their inner voice, and as such may call upon the inner mental and physical reserves at will. Using an activation phase and 2.5% of the user's total stamina and 2.5% of the user's total chakra, the user may activate, 'Thundering Phase'. When Thundering Phase is active, the user gains 4X additional taijutsu and evasion, and 3X additional concentration, where X is their level. These additional stats may not bring a stat beyond 1.5X it's base. While 'Thundering Phase' is active, the user suffers 2% of their highest non-health tank stat's remaining amount in health damage. In addition, lightning type, and storm type techniques do 10% less base damage to the user. Requirements: Mufuku Kaminari, Zasho no Washi no Tenrai, Banrai Geiha, Yaminari no Seika, Level 25, 1000 words training. Cost: -4 Edited September 3, 2012 by Warr
Azure Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Throne of the Eagle of Thunder: Do you apply subtle element skills as well? I would be more inclined to suggest not, otherwise it's just stack upon stack of effect and not very concise in the way the other elements are. Sacred Chant of the Roaring Mountain: Does this mean you get the bonus for 100 for nin alone and 100 con alone? Like if you had 500 ninjutsu and 300 concentation, you would get a bonus of 16% or 8%? Also does the user still get the bonus to their chakra based attack reduction?
Warr Posted February 9, 2012 Author Posted February 9, 2012 Throne of the Eagle of Thunder: Do you apply subtle element skills as well? I would be more inclined to suggest not, otherwise it's just stack upon stack of effect and not very concise in the way the other elements are. No subtle elements application. I thought by not mentioning 'in addition you may choose to apply one of the subtle elements skills', it implied you couldn't apply their bonus, but if you want it written out that's fine I can do that. I said combined or otherwise, so if you had say... 200 nin and 0 con you'd provide a 4% Cost reduction to taijutsu type techniques; or if you had 100 nin and 100 con, or 160 nin and 40 con. Chakra based reduction; no because you then run the threat of breaking the game. I'd like to keep chakra based reductions regardless, even if it means upping the Skill Point Cost, but I understand entirely if I'm told 'no you can't do that' as far as that goes.
Warr Posted September 3, 2012 Author Posted September 3, 2012 I see things haven't changed in the bloodline section. Bump.
Cellar Door Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Discussed over MSN. Made some minor changes to semantics in the effects sections. Revised Unhindered Thunder to make it acceptable with the new sealless rules. Better clarified the percentile costs on Thundering Phase. Looks fine to me.
