The following Terrain-changing Jutsu is available to everyone, so long as they have the Element requisite: Name: Masago Hijutsu: Sunaarashi (Sand Release Secret Technique: Sandstorm) Type: Ninjutsu (Sand) Rank: Chuunin Cost: 250 Effect: Used in the Setup Phase. May not attack in the Main Phase. Changes the Terrain to: Sand The Sandstorm Terrain Effect is active for 5 turns. Sand: -10% to Speed Sandstorm All attacks are -50% to-hit. Targets take 10 damage at the start of their turn. Description: A secret technique where the user utilizes their chakra to create a billowing sandstorm. When the dust settles, piles of sand litter the battlefield. Although it would seem simpler to just bring up sand from the depths of the earth to avoid a raging sandstorm, only the Kazekage, Gaara of the Sand, was able to master that technique, and only he had the chakra stores to be able to use such a jutsu. Points: 6 ----------------------------------------------- Name: Mokuton Hijutsu: Den'entoshi (Wood Release Secret Technique: Garden City) Type: Ninjutsu (Plant/Wood) Rank: Chuunin Cost: 250 Effect: Used in the Setup Phase. May not attack in the Main Phase. Changes the Terrain to: High Grass High Grass: -20% to hit when using 'long range' or non-area-effect Jutsus. It takes an entire Setup Phase to move from long range to close range. Description: A secret technique where the user utilizes their chakra to create a large garden surrounding them. Although it appears to be beautiful, it actually makes it difficult to fight through all the folliage. Points: 6 ----------------------------------------------- Name: Mokuton Hijutsu: Jukai Kotan (Wood Release Secret Technique: Birth of Dense Woodland) Type: Ninjutsu (Plant/Wood) Rank: Chuunin Cost: 250 Effect: Used in the Setup Phase. May not attack in the Main Phase. Changes the Terrain to: Dense Woodland Dense Woodland: -15% to-hit with 'long range' Weapons/Jutsu. It takes an entire Setup Phase to move from long range to close range. At the start of each turn, 5% chance to be 'Ensnared' for 1 turn. Ensnared: Uses Taijutsu with a 50% failure chance. Speed is at 50%. Cannot move. Description: A secret technique where the user utilizes their chakra to create the sapling of a great tree, and then continues to use their chakra to feed the root of the sapling. It grows, twists and winds through solid obstacles. This was first seen to be performed by the First Hokage and it is said that he created Konohagakure with it. Points: 6 ----------------------------------------------- Name: Daton Hijutsu: Deichuu (Earth Release Secret Technique: In the Mire) Type: Ninjutsu (Earth) Rank: Chuunin Cost: 250 Effect: Used in the Setup Phase. Changes the Terrain to: Muddy Ground Muddy Ground: -15% to speed. Taijutsu suffers 5% fail chance. It takes an entire Setup Phase to move from long range to short range. Description: A secret technique where the user utilizes their chakra to change the very ground beneath them, making it softer and more difficult to move on. Points: 6 ----------------------------------------------- Name: Daton Hijutsu: Yamajiro (Earth Release Secret Technique: Mountain Castle) Type: Ninjutsu (Earth) Rank: Chuunin Cost: 250 Effect: Used in the Setup Phase. Changes the Terrain to: Rocky Plateau Rocky Plateau: Speed and Evasion are at 75% Description: A secret technique where the user utilizes their chakra to thrust out the rocks that are laying a few meters below the earth surface, creating a battlefield that makes it more difficult to move through. This high-level Jutsu is a favorite among those in Iwa, as a master of it can sculpt monuments. Points: 6 ----------------------------------------------- Name: Hyoton Hijutsu: Moufubuki (Ice Release Secret Technique: Furious Snow Storm) Type: Ninjutsu (Ice) Rank: Chuunin Cost: 250 Effect: Used in the Setup Phase. Changes the Terrain to: Ice. The Hailstorm Terrain Effect is active for 5 turns. It takes an entire Setup Phase to move from long range to short range. Ice: Once per turn, 40% chance to become 'Prone' for 1 turn if character moves Prone: -15% to dodge. -10% to hit with Taijutsu. 5% failure chance to all combat jutsu. Hailstorm: 50% chance at the beginning of each turn to take 50 damage. Description: A secret technique where the user utilizes their chakra to summon a hailstorm, littering the battlefield with chunks of ice that can deal a savage blow to the unwary Gennin. This Jutsu used to be a favorite of those in the Ice Country in earlier times, but since then the Jutsu has been seen in the main continent. Points: 6 Note: 'Prone' in this case does not have +15% to-hit with ranged weapons because the Ninja did not voluntarily become prone (they fell). ----------------------------------------------- Name: Katon Hijutsu: Harumagedon (Fire Release Secret Technique: Armageddon) Type: Ninjutsu (Steam + Earth) Rank: Chuunin Cost: 250 Effect: Used in the Setup Phase. Changes the Terrain to: Thick Mud. The Boiling Mud Terrain Effect is active for 5 turns. Thick Mud: -30% to Speed, -10% to hit with Taijutsu. Boiling Mud: Take 20 damage a turn, unreducable. Description: A secret technique where the user utilizes their chakra to begin to melt the very ground itself, causing searing pain to all those who are around. There is no escape, as pockets of gas in the ground cause the mud to 'erupt,' hitting those who think they can take refuge in trees or in the air. Although this is called a 'Katon' Jutsu, it actually takes a master of the Elements to be able to use this technique. Points: 6 ----------------------------------------------- Name: Suiton Hijutsu: Ametaifuu (Water Release Secret Technique: Rain-laden Typhoon) Type: Ninjutsu (Water + Wind) Rank: Chuunin Cost: 250 Effect: Used in the Setup Phase. Changes the Terrain to: Raining. The Strong Winds Terrain Effect is active for 5 turns. Raining: 2% chance to fall prone if moving that turn. -5% to hit with ranged attacks. Lightning attacks do damage to all exposed to the rain, even the user but do 5% less damage for each person effected. Strong Winds: 20% chance to fall prone at the start of every turn. -10% to hit with ranged attacks. Description: A secret technique where the user utilizes their chakra to cause a minor change in the wind currents, while empregnating the clouds with heavy rains, causing a sudden onset of typhoon-like effects. Although considered a 'Suiton' Jutsu, it also takes a master of the 'Wind' Element to be able to use this Jutsu.
