Another Reign Of Fire Thing

Name: Reign of Fire: Starheart

Description: This character, having always had an innate affinity for flames, has finally taken this affinity to the highest level; they have maken a pact with Fire itself. It comes to this: This character may choose which things any given fire will and will not burn. For example, if they come upon a forest fire, they could say "Do not harm the trees" and the fire would, obediently, leave the trees alone. Or they could walk on hot coals, saying only "Do not burn me" and they would be fine. These are but a couple of examples of the applications of this ability...Of course things said in the language of fire only sound like words to Fire, the user, and other Starhearts, as they are called; to everyone else, it sounds like the flickering of flames.

But this is fo course a pact, which means it goes two ways. The user owes a service to Fire. This consists of destroying one of Fire's enemies - something that nullifies fire. The bond is confirmed by the action of destroying one of the highest-calibur of these items.

From then on, fires of all sorts obey the user's commands, and provide for good company. But there is another price the user must pay to gain this ability: The must always keep some fire alive, inside them - and not just any fire, but a tiny piece of the heart of a star. This fire will not harm them, or even warm them unless they wish it, but it is always there, inside their heart, flickering, and when the user dies, Fire consumes their body. Because of the fire inside their heart, the user is given the title of Starheart.

Effect: One item loses the ability "Elemental Immunity: Fire". The user is from now on immune to Fire damage... Except when they choose not to be. Fire is essentially bound to their will. They choose whether it will or will not burn something. The user permanently loses 10 HP as a consequence of having fire live inside them.

Cost: -1

Requirements: Fire must be your primary specialty.

As you can see this skill is ungodly awesome but in systemic effects is actually bad for you. You lose HP and a skill point and it costs you as much money as just buying the item.

ehhhhh... we're ninja's, not x-men ^_^ (most of us, anyway...)

My mistake... if you get to be the Human Torch, then I'm the Invisible Woman... er... ^_^

Anyhow, please leave the ability to the item, so that it can be shut down by items as equal to, or more expensive than, said item. Otherwise for a modest fee, you could simply make a skill like this for all the elements and find yourself immune to Jutsu... or worse, you combine this with your Alchemical power to change Jutsu type to fire, and you're just immune to everything save Taijutsu and Genjutsu, and we wouldn't want that :P

Nope. See those requirements at the bottom? That limits it to one element per person (and I'm not pplanning on making any more, anyway; the other elements don't make sense like this).

Anyway, I've already got the item, this is just a way of making it cooler >_>

there is still the second part that you'll just alchemize everything thrown at you to fire and be immune to all ninjutsu >_>

I can already do that >_> This version really has nothing to do with that issue.

Actualy, there's lots of ninjutsu I'm not immune to... For example, body freeze, and then own up while I can't move, or if you're faster than me than I can only change one of your attacks to fire...

May you be turned into fairy dust...

I dunno, to me it's just a way of making the attribute look cooler >_> And I suppose I'm paying for that extra coolitude, but c'est la vie.
