Fluffywerewolf Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 Currently under construction. Just want to be able to keep the idea for myself.
Warr Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 I'm not sure on it, but I would've sworn what I read on summons both in the case of rejected and accepted summons, and the summon rules themselves, there is a rule against any mythical creatures being created as summons. A hell hound is a mythical creature (Or popular Fantasy/Fiction current day creature) and isn't really something that could be summoned. Though, you could read the hound of the baskervilles and try to get something from there, seeing how that book was from what I know the thing that inspired said monster into existence for everyone else.
Shades Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 Suprisingly enough, there isn't any restriction on mytholigical creatures being used, merely that they have to be specified to a single type of such creatures. (i.e. no general demon summoning, but hell hound is fine)
Warr Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 Warrkun (4:32:04 PM): Wooshbangbang. JCMusiq (4:32:38 PM): sup son Warrkun (4:32:22 PM): Don't the summon rules say not mythical animals? Warrkun (4:32:42 PM): And not much, just finished a C rank by myself in a night Warrkun (4:33:46 PM): But yeah, don't the summon rules say "No Mythical creatures"? JCMusiq (4:34:29 PM): yeah no mythical creatures Warrkun (4:36:01 PM): Thought so *Cough* JCMusiq=Purity I've been told the same by many other moderators, as well. However, I might stand corrected. *IMs Taki and Purity with a link*
Shades Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 hmmm....odd seeing how there are many mythilogical creatures that are greatly tied in with nature, especially there being some of them which would technically be created by using normal animals (like, for example, someone putting a Roc in an eagle summons.)
Atlas Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 Roc was as you said, part of a different, normal species. Hell hounds, are 100% mythical. Very different than having one mythical creature as the Level 6 Summon for a set of normal summons.
Fluffywerewolf Posted January 16, 2007 Author Posted January 16, 2007 The term Hellhound is not the same as the hell hound found in the D&D gamers manual. Consider them merely a very large, overly muscled wolf, but without the slim build or the ...wolfishness. If it makes any sense. Hell hound, in this case is merely a Canine with a tendency to lean toward Fire and other Destructive elements. Its not until lvl 6 that the only really mythical creature shows itself. and that appearently is fine. Just let me post them, then we can determine the rest, savvy?
Atlas Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 (edited) No I don't savy. You can read your own sub-topic title to prove yourself wrong. No demonic summoning, and your hell hounds are as you put it and i quote: Demonic Dogs. Normal dogs would be fine, considering wolves have been made already and are fine, I'm not sure you would want to do that. But if someone else disagrees, (and by that I mean staff) than I will re-consider my position but until then. Denied You could just make the dogs like really bad a**, then it would be essentially the same, but without the the whole Demonic Fire Hound part. Edited January 17, 2007 by Purity
