Ravage Nocturne Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 (edited) Gijikuchiyose: Oroka Otori (擬似寄せ: 迂愚囮; False Summoning: Mindless Decoy) Type: Clan Ninjutsu Rank: Chuunin Cost: X Chakra + 20 Chakra Damage: 5 Tentative (AoE) Effect: X is equal to the cost of an opponent's Clone Ninjutsu, not exceeding 120 Chakra. Creates a clone on the battlefield that forces all 'target' clones to attack it during their next available turn. Although this clone has no stats, it is not considered to be 'dead' until the final clone attacks, at which point the decoy is destroyed and deals 5 unmodified damage to the nearby clones. Only clones that this Ninjutsu responds to are affected whatsoever. This Ninjutsu may not be used against clones created by Jounin or higher rank Ninjutsu, and may only be used twice per battle. The user is deprived of an offensive action during their Main Phase Description: This technique bears similarities to the summoning skill "Kuchiyose", but is not actually a summoning due in part to the lack of a contract and also the fact that no 'call' is answered, though the presentation and flourish would suggest otherwise. Although clones naturally receive instincts from their creator, due to the fact that they are little more than a Chakra representation, their methods of identification are fairly shallow, certainly not rivaling the original's. Perhaps it is because that clones are a fraction of the creator's Chakra, they too inherit a fraction of their intelligence. This particular Ninjutsu summons a decoy clone of the Nankan, and although hardly resembling the original, it is packed with a highly dense Chakra 'core' that compels the 'mindless' to investigate this suspicious entity. Because of the diminished perspectives of clones, this erratic Chakra signature warrants the attention and frustration of other clones, and inspires them to attack it relentlessly until it is destroyed. Upon obliteration, this clone explodes with a minor burst of energy as a final attempt to eradicate the nearby clones Points: -4 (-2 Nankan; -2 Total) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Gijikuchiyose: Chiisa Ooburi (擬似寄せ: 小さ大降り; False Summoning: Miniature Storm) Type: Clan Lightning Ninjutsu Rank: Chuunin Cost: X Chakra, .8X Chakra per turn maintenance Damage: N/A Effect: Enemy must roll a d100. "1-49" denotes the success of this Ninjutsu, while "50-100" denotes failure. X is equal to the level of a target medium or large weapon, where one and only one weapon may ever be targeted at a time. The enemy may not 'dodge' this technique, but may respond to it with a technique if desired. Otherwise, for every turn that this Ninjutsu is maintained, including the first turn, the opponent must roll a d10. A roll of "1" results in the enemy being disarmed for that turn. A roll of "2 or 3" results in the weapon being treated as though it were 50% it's natural level for that turn. Any other number has no consequence. This Ninjutsu may not affect Jounin or higher rank opponents. After the first turn, an opponent may 'steady' their guard during the Set-Up Phase and pay X Chakra or Stamina to neutralize the effect of this technique, cancelling it's duration immediately. This technique may not be used more than twice per battle Description: This technique bears similarities to the summoning skill "Kuchiyose", but is not actually a summoning due in part to the lack of a contract and also the fact that no 'call' is answered, though the presentation and flourish would suggest otherwise. The Nankan will gather the moisture in the atmosphere to form a small rain cloud that attempts to launch a small bolt of lightning towards a targeted weapon (marked with a small beacon of Chakra) from time to time in hopes to provide a static reaction that forces the opponent to drop their arms, or at least reduce their effectiveness while wielding it for a short period of time. Because this raincloud is miniscule, so too is the potency of the electric discharge, and following the advantage of initial surprise, an opponent might ready themselves for subsequent shock, becoming immune to the tactical jolts Points: -4 (-2 Nankan; -2 Total) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Gijikuchiyose: Kumo Nakama (擬似寄せ: 雲仲間; False Summoning: Cloudy Companion) Type: Clan Cloud Ninjutsu Rank: Chuunin Cost: 5% Total Chakra Damage: N/A Effect: Summons a cloud companion that retains half the cost of it's creation (2.5% Total Chakra), and gains Chakra equal to 1% of the Nankan's Total Chakra per turn, up to a maximum of 10%. At any point, the Nankan may 'sacrifice' their companion in order to retrieve this stored Chakra. Although this companion may not be targeted, Area of Effect damage will obliterate it, making it impossible to retrieve this Chakra Description: This technique bears similarities to the summoning skill "Kuchiyose", but is not actually a summoning due in part to the lack of a contract and also the fact that no 'call' is answered, though the presentation and flourish would suggest otherwise. In reality, this application of Chakra simply rearranges the moisture in the atmosphere in the shape a small cloud. The Nankan often brag about their connection with nature, believing that en masse, the strongest emotions of the clan inspire the weather. Seemingly, clear skies dappled with white, fluffy clouds mirror their satisfactions, while storm clouds gather when the clan is upset or anxious. On a smaller scale, some Nankan note that the weather seems to 'follow' them, likewise mirroring the state of their emotional balance. Whenever the Nankan forms a small cloud with their Chakra, it too trails them around and mimics their overall mood. This little cloud is fluffy and white while in a state of normalcy or mirth, turns gray while upset or sad, or quivers black and stormy when frustrated or angry. In the latter case, the cloud creates an equally miniscule 'storm' in which rain will fall and small peals of lightning and thunder escape from it. Certainly an amusing phenomenon, the Nankan have discovered that they are also able to reserve a small amount of Chakra within this comrade, where it swells over time until they find reason to retrieve the energies, depleting the cloud consequently. Curiously, the cloud expresses a unique personality depending upon the Nankan, and some report being shocked with small lances of electricity while describing their partner with sarcasm or connotation Points: -4 (-2 Nankan; -2 Total) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Edited October 23, 2011 by Ravage Nocturne
Hardcore Skittlez Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 First one; should state that it must always use the cost of the most expensive clone present. I mean, this technique has an interesting flavor- but you could honestly accomplish the same intended result by just dropping the 5 damage AOE. Second one; The closest thing to a "no dodge" we have is Body Freeze. If you want this to be "unavoidable", you need to base its success rate off of that; that is, I suggest a static "this has a 50% chance of succeeding upon initial use", THEN have its sustained effects carry on. I'm willing to allow it to sit in the current incarnation if a mod/admin is okay with it, but until the second opinion, I'd like a chance to fail. Third; An interesting chakra recovery mechanic. Lose 2.5%, then take at least 3 turns to get what you originally paid for it... I'm okay with tentatively approving this- because it's long ramp-up and ability to be AoE bombed make it a somewhat risky technique against any opponent with half a brain.

My understanding of the mechanics would be that you target whatever 'clone jutsu' is used in that turn (if two opponents make clones, you can only target one 'series' of them). No matter how many clones they make, however much Chakra they spend, you must spend to counter it, just like a normal response jutsu EDIT: In the case of the cost not exceeding 120 Chakra, this means that if an enemy spends 200 Chakra on clones, you cannot counter it. 2. Naturally, my frustration hovers around the fact that it doesn't necessarily 'affect' the enemy. Firstly, it is possible to simply 'not' use a weapon, making this worthless (IE: Unequipping it). Secondly, it can be literally shut down their next available Set-Up phase if they desire so. Thirdly, even should it persist, it has a decent failure rate. However, I can see how this might still be a little too efficient, so I'll add a 50% success rate based on roll for convenience! 3. My goal was to create something with RP flavor that was also unique in combat (as I'm sure you've seen with some of these). I thought it'd be 'cute' to have a cloud serve as an external Chakra reservoir, and made it so that it can be 'destroyed' so it isn't a matter of always having Chakra building in a source you cannot damage Edited October 23, 2011 by Ravage Nocturne
Hardcore Skittlez Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 1. Gotcha, I misinterpreted it. I feel that I'm okay to approve this, but I honestly think that it's convoluting a really simple solution to clones. 2. Approves. 3. Approval stands.
