Civil War (Not Kiri!?)

Nanukazuki-kumi | Round 3

Kumogakure no Sato has been left in ruins from an ongoing civil war, which has lasted a year. As the two sides have reached a stalemate, the bloodshed continues. In a desperate attempt to end the war, Shiriya Makoto has devised a plan to assassinate the current Raikage. As her plan unfolds, Hatake Tokei, trained personally by the current Raikage, intercepts Makoto in order to thwart her plans to kill the Raikage. As war rages around them, the fate of the village lies in the outcome of their battle.

How much blood had to be spilled for there to be peace? It had seemed like the civil war had been going on forever, even though it had only been a single year. A year of endless struggle and loss, of friend pitted against friend despite foes surrounding them not far outside their borders. It had been hell, and Makoto was tired. Everyone was tired. It was time for this war to end. In order for that to happen, the Raikage had to fall. There was really no alternative. A path of blood had lead to this day, and a pool of blood would end it. The only question remaining would be who would be lying in it, and who would stand above it.

One by one, the Raikage's minions had fallen before the resistance. All that was left between her and the Raikage was a single foreigner boy. Adjusting her glasses, the dark-eyed girl strode boldly towards the Raikage's mountain.

"Why don't you just go home and let the adults handle this. You have no place here."

Tokei knew that this was going to be the most important fight of his life a true life or death battle with the life of his friend on the line and his beloved teacher, Tokei swallowed every bit of the jokester that made up his personality and became a serious shinobi that no one has seen before, tokei gave a glare and spoke:

"What place do you have here why don't you go to the medical corp and help reduce the death that your inane actions have caused. Because we both know one of us will die today, The real question is will the right cause be victorious"

"As expected, you know nothing. If the Raikage wasn't such an incompetent, none of this wouldn't have happened in the first place, and nobody would have had to die! If you insist on hanging onto his coattails, you'll just have to go down with him." It was a pity, really. The less people that died, overall, the better off Kumogakure would be when all of this was over. At least this idiot was a foreigner, so it wasn't really like she was killing one of her own. The sooner she got this over with, the sooner they could dispose of the puppet Raikage, the less Kumogakurian blood would be spilled.

"Should've guessed the village was going to shit once they let Konoha scum in..." With a sigh, the Kumogakurian Kunoichi removed her glasses, her brown eyes slowly shifting to blue as concentric rings of red formed within them. In a mere moment, she flickered from sight, her speed allowing her to appear from behind the hapless Hatake as her hand thrust towards the boy's abdomen with incredible velocity. The slightest touch would be sufficient to invoke the power of her technique, flooding and burning out the Hatake's system from within and undermining his defenses.

That was, unfortunately for Tokei, not all. In the span of that brief moment, a second charged strike was launched, just as swift and unforgiving as the first. His failure to be attentive to the development of battlefield agility was unfortunate... for him. For Makoto, he might as well have served himself up on a platter.

Type: Ninjutsu [Lightning; Kumo.]
Rank: Chuunin
Cost: 135
Damage: 5
Effects: Inflicts Burning [70] for 2 turns and Exposed for 1 turn if successful.
Description: Lightning Type: Feedback is a fundamental Kumogakure technique focused on injecting electrical energy directly into a target through physical contact and forcing it to feed itself back into their system, burning them out from the inside rather than releasing it in the external form of a blast or bolt. Tokei looked very annoyed at the girl he was fighting as he shrugs off the blow she had sent his way with a tone of annoyance he spoke:" Who gives you the right to tell me I know nothing I have lived in Kumo as long as you have I was born here and I will die here but no matter what I will defend lord raikage, because the only scum here is you."

[OOC: If you don't list your skills at least once in a battle (generally the first time they're used, such as elements/styles when using a technique of that style, regeneration when recovering, or an advanced system on activation), you don't apply them, you'll want to be careful about that. Hopefully you'll take this as a learning experience.]

What an idiot. Conversation was all well and good, but there was a time and a place for all things - once battle had been joined, the time for talking was already over. For someone who couldn't even understand that, calling yourself a ninja was far too much of a stretch. This wasn't some friendly spar between classmates - it was a life or death struggle with countless lives on the line, and she intended to end it, and the Raikage who had lead to this disastrous current of death. Even with her eyes closed, she would have been easily able to locate and track the loudmouthed Hatake. He just refused to shut up. While her younger self might have made a point of it, Makoto was far too professional to waste her time with something that childish.

Instead, she continued her clinical assault, casually dancing around the boy's pitiful attempt at a counter attack. Though he was trying to put on a strong front, it was inevitable that the Hatake idiot would be hurting after taking that much internal damage. Unfortunately for Tokei, there would be no time to recouperate and catch his breath - the intensity of her attacks on his vitals would only increase. Another electrically charged strike plunged towards the back of the Hatake's head, and in an instant two more followed up, striking at his heart and lungs. Makoto hadn't spent a lifetime training to waste her time here. The sooner this was over and done with, the less of her fellow countrymen would die in this bloody feud. If the Raikage hadn't hung so stubbornly to power, none of this would be necessary. Headstrong old fool.

Makoto finally understood. There was a method to the Hatake's madness. He was trying to give her a headache by refusing to shut up. Unfortunately for Tokei, his strategy was going to prove ineffective - or rather, insufficiently effective to do him any good before the Kumo kunoichi completed her objective. At this point, the Hatake's futile struggling could really not be called an attack. Some object somewhere in the distance was lightly charred from the chakra he emitted haphazardly - it had hardly required what could be considered an active effort to evade, but she had sidestepped it between blows nonetheless -, and Makoto continued as she had been thus far.

There really was no helping fanatics, and the Hatake seemed to have brainwashed himself into believing the nonsense he was spewing. This was, of course, what happened when Konoha-nin with their heads in the clouds got to thinking they could interfere in Kumogakure's affairs just because their likely just as idiotic parents had happened to give birth within the borders of the land of lightning. Why they had not returned him to his clan beggared belief, but it was an injustice to everyone involved... but one of many that had been committed under the Raikage's insistence.

Rather than wasting more time than she already had listening to the boy's banter, Makoto struck again. If nothing else could be said, Tokei would have proven an ideal punching bag to serve as a meat shield for his companions, had there been any who could endure his ceaseless prattling. In the span of moments - moments she was sure would be filled with yet more talking, if she was slow - Makoto finished yet another sequence of three blows, wondering just how many of these would be necessary before she could move on. It was not particularly taxing, but time was in limited supply.

Description: Lightning Type: Feedback is a fundamental Kumogakure technique focused on injecting electrical energy directly into a target through physical contact and forcing it to feed itself back into their system, burning them out from the inside rather than releasing it in the external form of a blast or bolt. Because of the focused nature of the attack, it is less flashy and intimidating than many lightning type techniques, but it is still an invaluable tool in weakening the defenses of powerful opponents.
Points: 5 JP

Accuracy: 60% + 130 [Accuracy modifier] + 8% [Subtle Elements; Lightning] = 178%
Output:
{Feedback}:   5 damage + 100 [Ninjutsu Modifier] + 180 [Trace Arts Accuracy Modifier] + 40 [Ninjutsu Amplifier] = 325 Damage
Additional Effects: Burning [70] for 2 turns, Exposed for 1 turn.

Cost: 135 [Feedback] - 40 [Ninjutsu Amplifier] - 30 [Inner Calm] = 68 chakra [1/2 cost reduction cap]
