It's a clash of wills when lives are on the line. Forced into a sadistic tournament where contestants are pitted against one another in death matches, Nakayama Madoka and Uchiha Shinji remain as the only two. The person Madoka and Shinji love most are both being held captive as incentive to win. With the only choice to fight or lose the one they love, the two shinobi prepare to face death in the eye. Which will be the reaper and which will be reaped?

Uchiha Shinji had grown rather sick of being forced into this tournament to the death, he kept kicking himself in the head mentally for not being aware enough to realize they were about to grab him when he did, had he had the sharingan active he may have been able to get out of the way of the sedative they injected into his artery, damn thing knocked him out cold in seconds, he didn't stand a chance. But if he was going to rescue his cousin from these sadistic fucks he had to take down whoever his opponent was in this fight, it was his only chance, he wasn't quite convinced that even if he did kill the other combatant that they would even release Saki or himself, but he had to try at least, doing nothing would be disrespectful to his cousin, his clan, and most of all himself as a shinobi. No one was ever left behind, no matter the cost. Shinji gathered his chakra in his hands eyes and feet, readying himself for whatever was going to come his way, the crowd chanting and yelling behind the chain link fence that surrounded the make shift arena this fight was beind held in. Blood stained the ground and walls of the combat arena, Shinji was unable to see his enemy just yet, the lights were not on within the thunder dome, but they would likely turn on soon, and then the fight would really begin.

Madoka cracked an eye as her cell door opened; it wasn’t meal time. Another fight? Fine. Whatever got her closer to the end of this idiotic enterprise. She hadn’t exactly been willing to participate in the first place, but once she knew that her sister Momoka was on the line she’d at least tolerated the constant gladiator combat. It was something she was good at, and she’d quickly become one of the most successful fighters in the pit. Commercially and physically, as it turned out.

 

For the first few months, she’d tried her best to save her enemies in the ring. One or two had lived, but for the most part fighters didn’t leave the ring until one of them died. Eventually she’d been stuck in the featureless ring for six days while her opponent slowly bled out, despite her enraged screams and demands for medical attention. After he finally died, she gave up the attempt. It was liberating, in a way. There was always some rule she had to follow, kill only if you need to. Preserve life if you can. The ironic thing was, she was a lot better at killing and hurting than she was at saving. Although it was tempting to feel guilt for her actions, more of her had accepted the truth: she enjoyed the fighting. Sometimes, after a good fight, she might have participated even if Momoka’s life wasn’t in the balance. Maybe that made her a terrible person, or a monster. She'd been called that in some earlier matches. At this point, she couldn’t find it in her to care. She was who she was, and she was fine with that.

 

She collected her weapons and armour at the gate and stepped into the ring, testing the weight of her blade and preparing her body as the lights rose. She recognised the other fighter, funnily enough. An Uchiha from the Chuunin Exams in Kumo. A shame. She'd liked his fights; they might have been friends in another situation. Right now though, she gave him a wry smile. “Heh. My condolences to your family, Uchiha.”

Kaimon // First Gate
Description: The First Gate is a fail-safe that limits the output of the muscular system. By opening this gate, located in the brain, a person is able to nearly quintuple their physical performance in almost every aspect. These extreme results are not perfect, and much like all of the Eight Gates, cause wear and tear on the body. Slight breakdown and tearing has been noted in muscle tissue after having been effected by the Gate of Opening, and fatigue has been shown to set in quickly.
Effect: When activated, the user's Taijutsu, Speed, and Evasion stats are increased by 2x. The user's level being equivalent to x. The statistical bonus granted by this skill may never be less than +20 at any time. As an upkeep cost, the user must pay 5% of their total Stamina Points every turn. This skill may only be taken by ninja of level 10 or higher.

Thundering Auroch Style
Requirements: Kaimon, Mountain Ox Style, Nakayama Madoka
Effect: While active, all of the user's Ox Charges are converted to Thunder Charges. As long as the style remains active, all Taijutsu and Weapon Attacks are [Sound] element in addition to their other effects. The user cannot apply Wind or Lightning's effects to attacks through this effect. Thunder Charges are gained after a Thundering Auroch attack is used not if it hits. At the end of a turn where the user did not use a Thundering Auroch Technique, the user loses one Thunder Charge. For each consecutive turn where a Thundering Auroch Technique is not used, the user loses an additional Thunder Charge. Should the Eight Gates be deactivated, Thundering Auroch Style is immediately deactivated as well and all Thunder Charges revert to Ox Charges. Thundering Auroch Style is considered Mountain Ox Style for all purposes and Thunder Charges may be used instead of Ox Charges to activate effects or techniques, but may not pay for both Mountain Ox and Thundering Auroch abilities in the same turn. The user also gains the following effects depending on their number of charges:
0 Charges: No bonus.

Effect: Whenever this character opens one of the Eight Gates, roll a D8. If the number rolled is equal to or lower than the number of the Gate opened, the user gains one Ox or Thunder Charge. On a turn that this skill grants the user a Ox or Thunder Charge, Mountain Ox and Thundering Auroch Style techniques will only give the user a Ox or Thunder Charge on a successful hit.
Description: As more of the Eight Gates are unsealed and Madoka's power grows, the shockwaves of each Gate's release can be compressed and harnessed, accelerating her ascent to full power. The more powerful the Gate, the easier these tremors are to harness and use.

Description: It's unknown how the sturdy, metal plates that make up this set of leg-armor has existed, though they appear to predate the founding of the Hidden Villages, and are remniscent of the style of the Warring States Era. Some place the leg armor back to even earlier points in history, but what is known is that the armor has always seemed to embue its wearer with unnatural quickness, almost as if they had lightning coursing through their veins. Those who wear the Lightning Greaves are often able to move faster, and with more agility than even the quickest foe.

Special Abilities:

Resonance

Description: One of Kyoshinken's unique properties it is incredible resilience, especially under the aegis of a properly trained wielder. The blade is so durable that in the throes of battle its intense vibration can provide a kind of sonic barrier, protecting it from crippling damage.

Effect: When Kyoshinken would be destroyed by a 'Destroy Weapon' effect and its wielder has three or more Thunder Charges, the user may choose to negate the effect. If they choose to negate the effect, they are reduced to zero Thunder Charges.

High-Frequency Cuts

Description: One of the unique capabilities of Kyoshinken is it's tendency to vibrate while in use, especially when used in concert with certain techniques. This high frequency vibration turns any hit into a series of dozens of individual cuts, compromising any armour the target might be wearing and hammering through with comparatively little effort.

Effect: When this is weapon is used as part of a [Sound] attack, the target only applies 30% of defensive bonuses granted by items.

Description: An oversized katana commissioned by Nakayama Madoka upon her promotion to Genin and arrival in Iwagakure, Kyōshinken is a solid, durable blade made of the finest steel Iwagakure can mine. While its great weight and length demands that it be wielded in two hands, its single edge means that the bearer can rest the blade's back against their shoulder for ease of carrying. Honed to the finest edge possible and tempered to be virtually indestructible, Kyōshinken cost almost the entirety of Madoka's savings from her activities in Metropolis. It also incorporates a chain-link coil inside the weapon's grip, allowing the blade to be detached and attack from range and retract at the wielder's command.

'Her condolences for my family? Is she fucking serious? First time in my life I have contemplated kicking the shit out of a girl, but in this arena it was whoever was not dead that walked out, and she managed to enrage me with the first words out of her mouth. Time to go to work.'

 

Shinji cracked his knuckles trying to stay in control of the pulsing vein on his forehead, he felt as if his blood was boiling, putting some of his chakra into the back of his eyes his sharingan sprang to life, glowing crimson red in the dimly lit arena. "Heh, your condolences? I dont care if you are a girl, sarcastically giving me your condolences may as well have been a fuck you  to the uchiha clan. You're going to regret saying that."

 

Readying the chakra on the soles of his feet, he cast the self illusionary technique that would amplify his agility and speed, it seemed the girl had some skill after all, he opened the first of the eight celestial gates with her first maneuver, and as much as he hated to admit it, the bitch was fast.

Mitsudomoe Sharingan
For many years it was thought that this rank of the Sharingan was the pinnacle of what could be achieved. Despite this being proven untrue, the Mitsudomoe Sharingan is still considered a fully mature specimen of the kekkei genkai. As such, it has fully developed strength and range of its abilities. The chakra drain on the wielder is significant, but many who train themselves diligently are capable of keeping this rank of the Sharingan activated almost continuously.

Sharingan Insight – Rank Three
Effect: While the Sharingan is active, a character with this skill's Accuracy, Evasion, and Concentration statistics are increased by 3x, with ‘x’ being equivalent to the character’s level. The value of ‘x’ may never be less than 40. All statistical bonuses provided by this skill may not exceed 1.5x the base value of the individual statistics. Bonuses to Accuracy and Evasion are nullified when the character targets an opponent whose Speed statistic is 2.5x greater than the character’s.
Description: The first ability that is attributed to the Sharingan is the heightened state of awareness that the wielder enters when activating the dōjutsu. The eyes are able to predict the movements of enemies, or photographically catalog the details of the environment with great superiority. The enhanced accuracy and evasion that is the root of many of the Sharingan's abilities becomes stronger as each new tomoe develops. In its early stages, the Sharingan's influence increases the wielder's sensory awareness greatly, but opponents with great speed are capable of besting the dōjutsu. At more mature stages, the Sharingan is capable of predicting the movements of even the fastest foe.

Sharingan Hypnotism – Rank Three
Effect: While the Sharingan is active, a character with this skill’s non-Forbidden Genjutsu techniques with the ‘Dōjutsu; Sharingan’ descriptor gain the following effect;
 
“The target of this technique must roll a 5-sided dice. On an outcome of 1 the target may take no other actions in response to this technique. If the target of this technique is afflicted with the status effects ‘Impaired Eyesight’ or ‘Blind’ they may increase the outcome of this roll by +2 or +5 (respectively).”
 
Additionally, characters with this skill may purchase the technique ‘Genjutsu: Sharingan’ and while the Sharingan is active, ‘Genjutsu: Sharingan’ is considered seal-less.
Description: Though the many other facets of the Sharingan are greatly desired across the world, none can argue that perhaps the most potent aspect of the Sharingan is its ability to entrap a target within a Genjutsu at just a glance. Early stages of this ability manifest in incomplete ways, no more or less potent than comparable genjutsu- but later evolutions tap into the eye's ability to completely enrapture a target within the Sharingan wielder's mental whims.

Sharingan Copy – Rank Three
Effect: If the Sharingan is active during the Response Phase, a character with this skill may pay .6x Chakra, where 'x' is the cost of any technique used after this character's previous turn. The character must roll a 10-sided dice, and on an outcome of 1 - 7, the technique may be added to the character’s list of known techniques. Techniques added in this way have no Jutsu Point cost. Techniques of a certain Element, Archetype, or Style may be used without the necessary skill, but the Sharingan must be active to utilize techniques which require skills that the character does not possess. Techniques with bloodline or clan skill requirements that the character does not possess, or techniques that the character could not purchase for their standard Jutsu Point cost may not be copied. This skill may be activated 3 times per battle, or 1 time per role-play topic. Activating this skill is a free action.
Description: The power to record and store the details of any technique witnessed is a feat that has long made the Sharingan one of the most coveted kekkei genkai in existence. By simply having their bloodline active, wielders of the Sharingan are able to see the most minute details in the muscles of their foes, identify handseals in mid-combat, and even see the exact patterns of the enemy's chakra. These abilities make Sharingan-wielders impressive copy cats. In it's formative stages, the act of copying a technique is more strenuous on the body, and can produce hit or miss replications, but as the bloodline matures and the wielder becomes more practiced, the ability becomes almost fool-proof.

Sharingan Reflection – Rank Three
Effect: When a character with this skill successfully utilizes Sharingan Copy against a technique, the unresolved technique has a 30% chance of being negated. This is a triggered effect and may only activate 2 times per battle. The character consumes their Main Phase on a turn in which this skill activates. The activation of this skill is a free action.
Description: So fast are the reaction times of those who wield the Sharingan, that the brain is capable of quickly responding to incoming threats, and exactly duplicating the attacks of their enemies. In doing so, the wielder is able to match the exact force of the threat and nullify it. The fully matured Sharingan is a much more reliable tool when attempting to negate an incoming threat, and can competently match the force of enemy attacks.

Description: This technique is a personal favorite of Uchiha Shinji’s, it placed his opponent under an illusion as if Shinji were able to walk with fire, at the speed that fire was able to travel, it was as if his blazing red chakra was burning hotter than a glowing steel sword on an anvil, it would be as if Shinji was being abnormally fast compared to his usual agility and overall speed, Shinji was very fond of the way it made him look heroic, always a sucker for the dramatic.

The top of the lighter bears worn etching of the '火' kanji, possibly denoting that the old lighter originates in the Land of Fire, or perhaps just symbolizing the element that the lighter creates.

The Gates Mistress flickered forward in a burst of speed, using the last of her momentum to move like a speeding freight train towards the red-eyed Uchiha and cut twice, once at each eye. Slight breakdown and tearing has been noted in muscle tissue after having been effected by the Gate of Opening, and fatigue has been shown to set in quickly.

Effect: When activated, the user's Taijutsu, Speed, and Evasion stats are increased by 2x. The user's level being equivalent to x. The statistical bonus granted by this skill may never be less than +20 at any time. As an upkeep cost, the user must pay 5% of their total Stamina Points every turn. This skill may only be taken by ninja of level 10 or higher.

Kyumon // Second Gate

Description: The Second Gate is the other gate located within the brain. This gate limits the production of endorphins and keeps the heart-rate in check. Releasing this gate floods the body with endorphins, relieving feelings of pain and fatigue, despite the continual breakdown of the muscles. An increased heart-rate allows oxygen to reach the muscles more quickly, preventing oxygen debt and keeping lactic acid from building up within the muscle tissue.

Effect: After activating, the user gains the ability to recover 3x Health Points and Stamina as a free action during their setup phase at any point during the battle while this gate is open. The user's level being equivalent to x. This increase may not exceed the user's maximum in either stat pool, and this ability may only be used once per battle. This skill may only be taken by ninja of level 20 or higher.

Thundering Auroch Style

Requirements: Kaimon, Mountain Ox Style, Nakayama Madoka

Effect: While active, all of the user's Ox Charges are converted to Thunder Charges. As long as the style remains active, all Taijutsu and Weapon Attacks are [Sound] element in addition to their other effects. The user cannot apply Wind or Lightning's effects to attacks through this effect. Thunder Charges are gained after a Thundering Auroch attack is used not if it hits. At the end of a turn where the user did not use a Thundering Auroch Technique, the user loses one Thunder Charge. For each consecutive turn where a Thundering Auroch Technique is not used, the user loses an additional Thunder Charge. Should the Eight Gates be deactivated, Thundering Auroch Style is immediately deactivated as well and all Thunder Charges revert to Ox Charges. Thundering Auroch Style is considered Mountain Ox Style for all purposes and Thunder Charges may be used instead of Ox Charges to activate effects or techniques, but may not pay for both Mountain Ox and Thundering Auroch abilities in the same turn. The user also gains the following effects depending on their number of charges:

0 Charges: No bonus.

Wasting no time and having his chakra at the ready Shinji executed the haze clone technique five mirror images of him popped up next to the Uchiha shinobi. 

 

Oboro Bunshin No Jutsu

Shinji had become quite adept at casting the haze clone in a quick and efficient manner in terms of the time it took to execute his technique and the time it took him to manifest the seals within his subconscious to do it without having to move his hands and show his opponent what he was up to, it was incredibly useful to be able to seal within ones mind. And the next technique even moreso, it had become one of his signature moves for obvious reasons, it being a legendary technique gave it its obvious uses. His hand began to manifest the ball of cackling lightning, that as it grew became the stereotypical chirping of thousands of birds until the entire manifestation of Raikiri had taken over his right arm, thanks to the slight speed boost from his self cast illusion he made use of his haze clones that were going in all directions and attempted to find and exploit a vulnerability if Madoka would show one, just enough time for him to plunge his electrified fist through her chest was all he required. Spotting a potential opportunity, he made his move, charging up behind her with a flash from his former location to his current, right behind Madoka up in the air, he dove towards her hopefully about to unleash his technique right at his target.

At the conclusion of the Country of Lightning Chuunin Exams, all participants that made it through to the end of the event received a lightning shaped bangle. Worn around the palm, the bangle is made of a light metal that flexes with the hand and has minimal loss of motion.

Effect: Genjutsu Magnifier; Rank III - All Genjutsu techniques cost 40 less Chakra and gain do 40 more statistical addition and subtraction.

Description: The lighter given to Uchiha Shinji by Amegumo Chouka, in exchange for the one he stole while the boy was unconscious. The lighter is off the flip-top variety, and appears somewhat scuffed, as if it has seen heavy usage. The top of the lighter bears worn etching of the '火' kanji, possibly denoting that the old lighter originates in the Land of Fire, or perhaps just symbolizing the element that the lighter creates.

Madoka’s eyes tracked Shinji as he leapt, raising her blade to meet the hand shrouded in lightning. At the moment of impact, she knew something was wrong, but there was nothing she could do to redirect the force of the Lightning Cutter. Instead of absorbing the impact and pushing the other ninja off, Kyoshinken’s blade bubbled and warped before the concentrated strike. A moment later the metal liquefied and broke, destroying Madoka’s stance. Shinji’s lightning-wreathed hand cut through the shattered remnants of her defense. In the last second before he pierced through her collarbone and buried his arm shoulder-deep in her ribcage, she had time for a single thought.

 

‘Assholes can’t even maintain my sword properly.’

Shinjis face had been covered with the blood that shot outwards as his lightning covered fist plunged through Madokas chest obliterating her heart with the surge of energy that expanded forth, he had impacted all of her major arteries causing her to bleed out in mere seconds, he watched as her corpse fell to the ground, a cold blank stare overtaking her facial expression from the last moment before she drew in her final breath. 

 

Shinji lived to fight another day, and dealt the vengeance for his clan name he had promised to at the start of the match, in one attack no less. He wiped his bloody hand on his ragged clothes, until it was at least somewhat clean, producing a cigarette from his metal case, alongside his uchiha clan signet etched zippo lighter which he sparked and set the tip ablaze, drawing a deep breath into his lungs that filled with the bitter smoke.
