There are rumors that a great treasure hides deep within the castle perched at the top of the mountain. For years, groups of adventurers have tested their mettle. Brave knights, cunning rogues, and powerful wizards have all tried their hardest to reach the hoard in the bowels of the fortress. Despite none having yet succeeded, that would not stop Sato or Tsubasa. Both of them being warriors and mages of no small reputation, it is only natural that they would be brought into conflict. Now which of these gish-type treasure-seekers will reign supreme as they battle within the ancient castle to claim the treasure beyond.

Tsubasa gripped his dagger in hand as he slid along the cold stone wall. He was deep underground, in the belly of the mountain, but he could still hear wind howling above as it found its way into the stone corridors. The young man with his azure blue eye was on alert because he had sensed a chakra signature nearby only a few moments ago. He thought he had been the first to track down the Jewel of Jo'rin, but apparently there had been another. It's thunder power was renown, and if someone was to find it they would surely be able to bend the country to their whim. A small bit of blue fire crackled around the young man, his wizardy skills manifesting as he reached out with his mind. He needed to get the drop on his opponent.

The Jewel of Jo'rin, a powerful treasure which could bend the country towards ones whim. It was a highly sought treasure by many adventures, and while none had succeeded, he would be the first to succeed. Sato grinned as he ran his fingers along the stone wall, confident that the treasure would soon be his. Through the power of his sorcery, pulses of electricity were sent out around him in order to detect any other possible intruders, and much to his surprise there was another. The pulse was faint and the location was unknown, however Sato was not about to waste time. With haste the young man picked up his walking speed, perhaps he could get to the treasure before he was spotted.

Description: A customized vest which Sato had specifically made for him. Similar to the Kumogakure Vest of the old, this vest is pure black. Specially made for defensive purposes, this vest reduces the amount of damage one takes and the lightweight material allows for slightly faster movement. In order to ensure that this vest provided an all around defense, Sato had this vest imprinted with chakra that flowed around his body in order to provide a better mental defense against genjutsu.

Description: A new leather eye patch colored black that Tsubasa got along his travels. At a point in his life he acknowledged that the eye patch was going to be a permanent part of him and he figured that a medical bandage made him look too weak for most normal situations. This new eye patch is finely crafted, made specifically for Tsubasa's head and cut well enough that it actually accents his attire rather than being an unsightly blemish on his otherwise finely curated appearance.

Description: An over-vest worn by Shinobi of the Jounin rank. The vest itself is a unsaturated green that works great for camouflage. The Konohagakure no Sato crest is emblazoned on the chest along with the traditional red swirl on the small of the back. Scroll and other holster adorn the chest.

Attributes: +20 Concentration.
Description: A small circular badge of a white color, emitting a small trace of chakra that stimulates the brain to focus harder but remains at ease. The badge has a small inscribed symbol of Kumogakure on it.

Description: The metal Orichalcum is a special alloy of copper that is known for its properties when in contact with Chakra. Tsubasa had picked up on the source of chakra ahead. In his mind's eye he could feel its presence, a bluish orb floating in the halls. He could tell that this individual held a great chakra, but he knew he had to act first with the element of surprise. As he approached the source of the chakra he would make a quick seal, forming two bunshin to appear to either side of him. They formed and took shape out of thin air, forming from the magic instilled in him.

 Bunshin no Jutsu | Clone Technique
Type: Ninjutsu
Rank: Academy Student
Cost: 5x Chakra
Effects: This technique may be used in the Setup Phase or Main Phase. When determining the cost of this technique 'x' is considered to be the number of 'Clones' created by the user and may never be greater than 2. 'Clones' have 1 Health and 1% of the user's other statistics. 'Clones' are not physical, and may not use items, techniques or attack during their turn. The user of this technique gains +20 Evasion or +20 Accuracy for every 'Clone' on the battlefield. The effects of 'Clones' may be ignored by any character with heightened senses (i.e; Byakugan, Path of the Sensor, Inuzuka Smell Tracker, etc). This technique may be used in the Setup Phase 1 time per battle. 
Description: A technique that most students are required to be proficient in before they can graduate from the academy, the Bunshin no Jutsu is the most basic of the myriad of clone techniques that exist in the world. By properly molding their chakra, the user is capable of creating near perfect replicas of themselves. Unlike most bunshinjutsu, the basic clone technique does not produce physical clones but creates something more akin to a projected image, which is a real image that has no form. The Clone Technique is considered an E-Ranked jutsu, and is not very powerful, but with practice and ingenuity many shinobi have come to use it in masterful ways. Most often stalling by hiding out among their clones, or setting themselves up for a strong offensive.

Effects: The target is granted 'Haste' for three (3) turns. In addition, the target gains a Shield with 170 Health for four (4) turns. The Shield created by this jutsu may only be granted two (2) times per battle. 
Description: Similar to how 'Hachimon' releases the capabilities of the body by unlocking its built in restraints, Seishin no Me is a mental ability to trick the mind into exceeding its normal limits for a short burst of time. Though this skill lacks the power of the actual 'Hachimon' on which it is based, it is considered to be much safer due to its limited time and power. In addition to faster movement of body, the ninja is able to process information much more quickly than normal which gives them an advantage against incoming attacks as well. Though this premonition is limited, it is thought to be quite powerful when put in the right hands.

"No sign of anybody yet..." Sato's thoughts trailed off as he continued down the hallway. He was certain there was another being within his vicinity, which meant that either the intruder had left or there was an ambush planned. The young man let out a deep sigh as he felt the thunderous blood swirl within him; a soft crackle of lightning and within seconds the man was surrounded by a large aura of lightning and chakra. The electric mixture swirled around him as it crackled. "Now then, let's see what happens." With a grin, the adventure continued on his path down the hallway.

Effect: While Lightning Release Chakra Mode is active, the wielder takes 5x less Physical Damage from all sources per Ninja Rank, where X is equal to their current rank of Ninjutsu Mastery [Lightning] (A genin with rank 10 Ninjutsu Mastery [Lightning] would take 50 less damage.)

Those whom are more skilled within the lightning element can straighten the stimulation and power of the ability, allowing for a greater increase in agility and mobility.
Effect: While Lightning Release Chakra Mode is activated: For each rank the wielder has in Ninjutsu Mastery [Lightning], the wielder reduces their speed percentile by 2%, rounded up.

Advanced Mastery - Conductive Reactions
With the stimulation of the synapses in the nervous system, the body increases the transmission of electrical signals. which increases the user's reflexes and reaction time. In addition, to the immense agility one gains from the Lightning Release Chakra Mode, their reflexes and reaction time have also been seen as extraordinary. While few have seen it's abilities with their own eyes, those who have recount tales of Lightning Release Chakra Mode user's capable of dodging powerful techniques at point blank range. Their reflexes are attuned to the point where even the slightest bit of aggression from an opponent and it's users are able to dodge any incoming attack without much effort. 
Effect: While Lightning Release Chakra Mode is activated: For each rank in this skill: The user may add +2 to their dodge roll when dodging non-genjutsu techniques, weapon attacks, or basic attacks.

Tsubasa had eyes on his opponent now as he peeked through rubble within the temple. He carefully slid the cover from his eye, letting the eye patch fall to the ground. In the darkness of night his azure blue eye would almost glow with a pulsing light as the white halo around his pupil fluxed with power. The world was splintered by a thousand hairline fractures, all things splitting with these lines that only he could see. The entire structure, no the entire planet, was a massive complex puzzle and Tsubasa was the only one destined to break all the pieces apart. Today he would be the one to gain the power of the Jewel of Jo'rin.

- For every 30 points in Concentration this character has they gain +1% to their critical strike chance on physical attacks. Maximum of +30% can be received from this effect. Critical strikes cannot be prevented by passive effects while this is activated. Eye must be uncovered for these effects to take place. While eye is uncovered this effect overrides the normal bonus Concentration gives to critical strike with Taijutsu. Replaces Rank 1. 'Halo' begins to lighten, emitting a faint white light.

Haro Kaisen IV | Halo Circuits: Rank 4
- Once per battle this character may have all attacks they perform this turn deal Fatal Critical damage. Once per battle, if no targets take damage from at least one of these attacks this skills is considered unused. Cannot be taken with 'Strategist' or any other skill that gives similar bonuses. May not stack with any other ability that multiplies damage. Eye must be uncovered for these effects to take place. There is no longer any cap to the bonus from Rank 3 outside of the Activated Effect maximum for Critical Strike abilities. 'Halo' pulses with a white light that dances around the iris.

Tsubasa erupted from the shadows with a massive burst of speed. If this attack was successful, Sato would not even see him approach. Out of no where he would appear, directly in front of the lightning shrouded young man as if he had teleported. It was speed unlike the man would have ever seen, and it would more than give him a startle as the charcoal haired assailant laid into him, striking him repeatedly along the arms and rib cage. Each strike inflicted precise damage to the tenketsu, throwing his internal systems into chaos as they recoiled to keep up.

Without wasting any time Tsubasa pivoted, literally disappearing and appearing behind Sato so quickly that he had not even seen any movement. It was like blinking, but with your eyes open. If it was successful, Sato would feel the impact to the back of his head likely before he knew where this mystery assailant had gone too. The strike was quick and powerful, Tsubasa watching the fault lines in the world that told him just where to strike to afflict his opponents with devastating blows.

Effects: The target is afflicted with 'Clobbered' for two (2) turns, and 'Fazed'.

Description: Using the Shyōryu, Tsubasa will cause the opponent to have a momentary paralysis of the body and mind, giving them the illusion that time skipped ahead a few seconds. Within this time, Tsubasa preforms a series of strikes along the opponent's body, inflicting damage internally and wrecking havoc on their body. Movement causes the target to experience agony, internal organs taking direct strikes and causing expert maneuvers nearly impossible. Due to the nature of the style it can become very unsettling when the opponent believes they are fighting an enemy that can teleport at will. The confusion and panic caused by the techniques of this style are an advantage that Tsubasa uses to defeat those that stand against him.

Type: Taijutsu & Genjutsu [Vanishing Style | Endō Tsubasa]

Cost: 95 Stamina & 95 Chakra
Effects: When this technique is preformed the user chooses "Inner" or "Outer".


• Inner Kick: 380 Damage. 
• Outer Kick: 210 Damage. The target is afflicted with 'Slow' for two (2) turns and 'Fazed'.


Description: Using the Shyōryu, Tsubasa will cause the opponent to have a momentary paralysis of the body and mind, giving them the illusion that time skipped ahead a few seconds. Within this time, Tsubasa preforms a specialized kick technique he learned while training with the monks of the Bak Mei monastery. There are two variations of to this kick technique; the outer crescent and the inner crescent. The outer crescent raises the extended leg as high as possible and slightly up across the body, a bit across their center line, before sweeping outward to the side, in a circular movement. The inner crescent, the motions are the same but the direction of the kick changes, this time originating from the outside of the body, heading towards the inside, or center line of the body. When the opponent comes to, it gives the illusion to that Tsubasa teleported right up to them, catching them with the kick attack before they could even register that he was there. Due to the nature of the style it can become very unsettling when the opponent believes they are fighting an enemy that can teleport at will. The confusion and panic caused by the techniques of this style are an advantage that Tsubasa uses to defeat those that stand against him.

Path of the Mesmer
For every 100 points in Concentration, this character gains an additional +1% to hit with Genjutsu based attacks.

 

Shyōryu | Vanishing Style | 消遁 
Allows for the user of 'Vanishing Style' techniques. All 'Vanishing Style' techniques must be Genjutsu & Taijutsu hybrid and use Concentration instead of Accuracy or Evasion to hit. If an opponent was struck with a 'Vanishing Style' technique on the previous turn, the user gains +6x% chance to dodge for all physical attacks and +3x% chance to dodge all non-physical attacks from that opponent this turn, where x is the number of Vanishing Charges they currently have. If the user is hit by an attack during a turn when they have this bonus, they lose two (2) Vanishing Charges. When the user successfully hits an opponent with a 'Vanishing Style' technique, all characters within eyesight of the battle are under the same visual effects as the afflicted target. This final ability is for role play purposes only and cannot inflict any type of combat effects on those not hit with the original technique.

Sato's eyes widened as he watched a strange blur appear in front of him. It moved rapidly and his brain was able to register what he imagined to be a fist heading towards his direction. These particles are stored separately within the body in specialized cells and similar to a battery, the wielder is able to release the stored lightning and utilize it in whatever manner they wish.
Effect: The wielder of this skill gains a separate stat known as 'Static Energy'. For each rank in this skill: Every time the wielder of this skill uses a [Lightning] tag ninjutsu or is hit by a [Lightning] tag ninjutsu, 10% of the ninjutsu's base chakra cost is added as Static Energy into the Static Energy stat. Tsubasa tsked as the opponent disappeared in a flicker of lightning, only to re-appear a few meters away. This wouldn't be as easy as he had hoped, his opponent had good reflexes to be able to get a seal off in the fraction of a second he had before being hit. That wouldn't stop Tsubasa though, his azure eyes nearly glowing in the dark as he reached to the back of his pocket and locked eyes with his opponent. Another wave of chakra would erupt from him towards Sato, trying to catch him once again in an attack. This time as he came in to strike the various pressure points on Sato he would end the attack by slipping an explosive scroll onto the opponent, flickering away just as quickly. From Sato's point of view, if the attack was successful, his opponent would simply disappear, striking him a number of times before he even knew it and leaving a tag that was already burning on his right rib cage.

Due to the nature of the style it can become very unsettling when the opponent believes they are fighting an enemy that can teleport at will. The confusion and panic caused by the techniques of this style are an advantage that Tsubasa uses to defeat those that stand against him.

His opponent was good, perhaps the most challenging adventure he had encountered in his life time. "He's also persistent..." The truth was, Sato had hoped that the man's first failed attempt would be enough to deter the mysterious combatant. The man's blue eyes narrowed as he watched Tsubasa move with an intense speed through the dark corridors. It was the same technique, however the high speed in which the man moved made it difficult to dodge through normal means. As if the mock the attacker, Sato grinned as a wave of lightning chakra pulsed through his own body as he formed several seals. As soon as the young man's strike neared him, Sato vanished in a dispersal of lightning. Similar to before, a bolt of lightning struck past Tsubasa and several meters away reappeared in the same fashion. This time he stood up straight, a grin on his face, as he watched for what his opponent would do next.

Tsubasa did not hesitate, expecting the opponent to disappear once more he waited for him to reappear in a burst of lightning before disappearing and appearing back in front of him. This man was very quick to be able to dodge, but Tsubasa could tell that he still had the advantage. If his opponent had to just keep running he would eventually catch him, he just had to get the right timing. So as Sato appeared once more Tsubasa would already be on top of him.

"Tsk, well played." His eyes flickered upwards as he watched the mysterious man appear above him. The man was skilled and a good opponent and Sato knew when he was outclassed. The treasure would not be his this time, which was a shame. An exhale was followed by a deep breath as Sato felt the oncoming attacks slam into him. It was only a matter of seconds before he faded into unconsciousness with a smile on his face.
