  1. Ribaiasan (The Leviathan) It used to be a giant tower fortress built on a spire of rock, but when it was abandoned the tall structure collapsed. Now it is used as an arena for anyone who thinks they can fight, but it is most frequented by outlaws proving that they are the strongest. Even in the non-death matches though, there is no one to stop a fight, so any fight can turn into a life or death battle for anyone who enters. History In a time long forgotten, before the ninja villages were formed, even before the nations of the world, Ribaiasan was built as an impenetrable fortress. It was created during a war over the land, by a powerful warlord who wanted to rule all. The man spared no expense in the designing and building. He was a warlord of great power, and when he had completed his conquest for land, he would rule from that keep. He wanted people to look upon the dark tower with fear and respect for him, and for his descendants to rule over his country from it. Except, he never saw it completed. He was killed in a battle far from his tower, and eventually the army who had constructed it was defeated horribly. It is said that secrets and treasure had been left somewhere within the tower. What exactly remains a mystery as the tales have fallen out of common knowledge. Even to this day, those secrets remain undiscovered, waiting for the curious explorer to find them. From that time the tower sat in the valley, hidden from passerbies by the trees and mist that sat around it. Occasionally, when it was discovered, it would be used as a base for new wars, with other armies, but it never saw a great battle. It never repelled more than a few squads of men. It sat, at a corner of the world, left to disappear. Even the amazingly strong stone that it was built from wouldn't stand the test of time forever without maintenance and it started to show.. Eventually the entire top of the building fell into the chasm below and the parts are still down there, amid the jagged rocks and bones of animals and men who met their fate at the bottom of the fall. Many years passed, before one who saw potential in the place found it. She was a missing-nin, fleeing south into the wilderness from the Iwagakure hunter ninja. She stumbled upon the tower and stayed there till she was safe. Eventually she lived there. She would occasionally steal elsewhere, looking for supplies, but she was always drawn back. Soon other weak missing-ninja found their way there. She didn't turn any away as long as they worked together. Eventually their group grew, and as it happens when enough criminals get together, they argued. One Suno missing-nin claimed that he was more fit to lead than she. They fought. When the dirt and sand settled, the female ninja stood victorious, but the inside walls of the fortress had been destroyed, leaving a circle surrounded by the outer wall. It was then that she realized what the place could be used for. She started to spread world among the criminals of the world. Tournaments were held, bets would be made, people died. Ribaiasangēmuzu it became known as, The Leviathan Games. Missing ninja came from all around to test their strength against the Iwa ninja, or anyone else who was willing to fight. The woman who had founded the Games lived a long time and became rich and famous due to to the number of challengers who fell before her. She was defeated eventually, but her fate did not end there. Her opponent allowed her to live, as long as he became the master of the games. She accepted and left the old tower, a very rich woman. To this day there are still fights among the criminals of the world. They are used for sport, to settle disputes, or to try to fight the current champion: the Master of the Leviathan. Some just gather there to hide from the law or to watch the entertainment. It is a dangerous place to be, but if you can prove yourself in the arena, you will gain a certain respect in the ninja underworld. Despite all of the visitors of the now-arena, none have discovered the secrets below the arena floor. Eventually a few rules were created for the games: - Any who enter the ring can die, though it is found distasteful if it wasn't agreed upon beforehand, and the winner gets no winnings after it, only the glory of victory. - If someone surrenders, however, they cannot be killed, or the murderer will suffer the same fate, and be thrown into the chasm surrounding the stadium. - Only the number of agreed upon combatants are allowed in the ring, if any enter, they will be thrown out the first time, removed from Ribaiasan the second, and killed upon their third offense. - Any can challenge any fighter in the arena, though if the challenge can be denied, except by the Master of the Leviathan, who must always fight. - If you cannot back up a bet you made, you have to fight the person you cheated out of their money, or someone who represents them. A side, slightly unknown, rule of this is that the Master can be asked to fight for the cheated party, and unless they have recently fought, will step in. This is not necessarily to the death in any case, but that is usually the result. There are some smaller rules beyond these as well, but most fights are either fights till knockout, or occasionally, fights till death with no holds barred. Architecture The base of the tower stands upon a tower of rock. Even though the base is the last thing to survive, it still stands almost a hundred feet tall around most of the perimeter. The diameter of the tower is about three hundred feet across. Inside of the circle, there is the arena floor, which is covered by rubble left over from the inner walls of the tower. Around this there are some stands as well as make-shift rooms. It is carved out of a black stone of unknown origins. The stone is thick and was strengthened by the original master with her earth jutsu. Even explosive jutsu have a hard time even chipping it. There are gargoyles on the outside, some are as old as the building, while others are newer. They are carved when a new Master arises and are there to remember those of the past. Some are built into the stone of the building, while others are on the shelves of rock that it sits on. Somewhere in the building, there is a staircase. This has yet to be discovered, but it descends down into the tower of rock. Where it leads to is a mystery. Finding it is a matter of luck by this point, as any writings on it were long destroyed. Geography Ribaiasan is located west of the Rain Country, North of the Wind Country, and south of the Earth Country. It is in a mountainous region that is rarely traveled across due to treacherous mountain paths, and because of the lack of government or law in the area, an abundance of criminals. Despite this though, it resides in a forest valley in the mountains. The trees grow high here, so even in the day, the light is extremely dim. The area has much swamp land with many places having quick sand covered by water, making any form of ground travel extremely dangerous. The part of the forest that Ribaiasan is located is surrounded by these swamps, but not located in them. It is a rocky, almost island, spot of land that has a few trails leading to the fortress itself. Once at the fortress, there is a small bridge of land over a deep chasm that on especially dark days, one cannot see the bottom. On the bottom, there are jagged rocks, and anyone who falls down there (except the most durable of ninja) will surely meet their doom if they cannot stop themselves. Due to the humidity of the place, the edges of the chasm are slick, so even trying to climb up them once you are down, is an almost impossible feat.

  12. ~Background~ Current Allegiance: Kirigakure Relationships: -Parent(s): - Father: Arashi ______ - Fisherman - Mother: Arashi ______ - Ex Hunter Nin in training -Sibling(s): - Little Brother: Arashi ______ - Little Sister: Arashi ______ -Significant Other(s): -Pet(s): -Teacher(s): -Friend(s): History: Kaito's parents were not a normal couple. His father was a fisherman and his mother a hunter-nin for Kiri. This strange couple met when his mother was on a mission. She was hunting a ship of pirates who had been slowing trade for country and his father was out on the sea fishing. His father's ship was attacked by the pirates and he was being robbed (and probably would've been killed). His mother's ship found them and her and the pirates got into a fight. The pirates were actually ex ninja of Konaha, surprising the Kiri ninja. The pirates were eventually defeated, but not before his mother was intensely hurt and she fell into the sea. None of her other squad-mates had seen this, but his father had. He leaped into the sea after her. He was a strong swimmer and was able to rescue the injured woman. When he brought her back to the boat, he was able to patch her up, but when they got to Kiri, the injury was already too great. Her leg would never been the same again, even with healing ninjutsu. At first she cursed her fate. She was stuck in a hospital and when she would be released, she would've be allowed on missions anymore. After awhile she received no visitors except Kaito's father. He felt guilty that she had been injured saving him, and he offered her a job helping him sell his fish while he caught it. At first she didn't take it, but after awhile and much persistence, he was able to convince her. They worked together for some time, and eventually fell in love. A few years later, their first son, Kaito, was born. A few years later, the Empire arose. It was lucky, because as an ex-Kiri Hunter-nin in training, his mother's records had been destroyed after she was decommissioned. They didn't know she had been an ex ninja. Because of this, his family's house was used as a meeting place at times for ninja trying to free Kiri. While this was dangerous, it was also hard to prove their involvement, so they were able to stay this way through the war (although there were many close calls). During this time, Kaito grew up in a pretty non-ninja environment. He was even kept away from ninja who visited because his parents were afraid that a child may let something out to one of his friends and they would be found out as harboring fugitives. He was instead taught how to fish with his father, as well as more basic schooling from his mother. He enjoyed it when his dad and him just sat on the shore and fished, more than when they went out on a boat. It wasn't that he didn't like the water, it was just that it seemed more peaceful and calm on land most of the time. Despite this normal upbringing, he was always interested in the people who visited his house, and he would lie away for hours listening to the conversations that they had when his parents thought he had gone to sleep. Eventually, towards the end of the conflict, Kaito confronts his parents and tells them he wants to be a ninja. He wasn't very old still, and even though they were a little upset (at themselves for not being more careful mostly), his mother still agreed to start to teach him techniques in order for him to be ready to be taught further if the war ever ended. During this time, and after the NCIA had fallen, Kaito was trained how to manipulate his chakra. He trained hard at it and didn't let minor setbacks keep him from learning as much as he could. Despite this, fate seemed to deal him a different set of cards. When he was 9, he fell ill. It was an almost deathly ill. He was laid up in bed for months. Not even the medical ninja could figure out why this had happened or how to fix it. He was given medicine to treat the illness, but it was uncertain if he would ever be able to do anything beyond what he could do in bed. Even though he was bedridden, he tried to work on his training as much as he could laying down. His parents didn't seem very hopeful that he would ever be a ninja, but he was determined. His recovery was incredibly slow. After a year and a half, his mother decided that even if he wouldn't recover, he should still be taught as much as he could so he would have something to do instead of just lying there. She couldn't teach him ninjutsu, because it would destroy the house, and his state didn't allow him the physical movement of taijutsu. Instead, she started to teach him genjutsu. She wasn't particularly amazing at it, but she taught him the basics and got him scrolls to study. She would also tell him stories of her time as a ninja. These were his favorite, especially as she talked about her training as a hunter-nin. These are probably how he got interested in that profession in the first place. He lay in bed reading and practicing as much as he could. His mother even let him practice on her when she wasn't busy as she had faced genjutsu users before and anything he could throw at her was nothing she hadn't experienced (especially since his training was not nearly as strong as those she had been up against). He got better and better at his techniques, and his health improved as well. He was finally able to enter the academy, but he was older than most of his classmates because of his late entry. He wasn't mad about this, but he was obviously better at chakra use than them. He fell behind in anything physical though. He knew he wouldn't be able to keep up with taijutsu, so instead he just focused on making himself as fast and quick as he could. He wanted his body to be his shield while his mind was his weapon. If he could stay away from physical attacks, he would be able to defeat his opponents through their minds, was his reasoning anyways. Despite his being held back, he eventually graduated the academy. It was a proud day for him. He was ready to face the world of the ninja as much as he could. He wanted to show that despite what had happened to him, he would be just as strong in his own ways. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~Statistics~ Rank: Gennin Level: 0 TXP: 0 Total Stat Points: 500 -Stats- (Health) 60 (Stamina) 20 (Chakra) 80 (Taijutsu) 0 (Defense) 20 (Ninjutsu) 0 (Genjutsu) 80 (Concentration) 80 (Speed) 100 (Accuracy)0 (Evasion) 60
  13. ~User Data~ -Posting: Depends on the day, but at least once, at most 7-8 times (if I'm free) -Time Zone: Central Standard Time ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~Vital Statistics~ Name: Arashi Kaitō Birthplace: Kirigakure Current Residence: Kirigakure Age: 14 D.O.B.: December 13th, 2103 Sex: Male ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~Appearance~ Hair: Black, buzz cut with a short mohawk in the middle. The spikes of his hair are pointed backwards on his head. Face: He doesn't really have any marks on his face. He has not seen enough action to get any battle scars. He does have a small scar on his left jaw from where he cut his face on a branch once. His eyes are a dark green color. Due to his sleep schedule (sometimes lack of) his eyes do show dark circles under them at times. Body: As to be expected from events in his life (talked about in his history) he isn't as fit as one would expect a ninja to be. He is pretty skinny, though he is starting to show some signs of muscles, though nothing to be impressed with (as he is aware of). His skin is also pretty pale as well, mostly due to his time inside, as well as the climate of Kiri (he seems to always go outside when the fog is the thickest). This makes him look a little strange with his shirt off as his head is covered in dark hair/stubble, while the rest of him is ghostly pale. Clothing: Shirt/Upper Body: His upper body is covered in a very odd piece of clothing. It is a baggy shirt that almost looks like a straightjacket. It has belts on the cuffs of the arms and three across his chest. The collar of the shirt goes over his mouth in a circle and it seems to have two belts around it as well (although it is worn loosely and not tight so he can still breath). The belts are black and the fabric is a grey color. There are also pockets on the front of it. Under this he wears a blue sleeveless hoodie. The hood usuall comes out of his jacket and is sometimes worn up. He doesn't wear a forehead protector on his head, instead the metal emblem is on his right upper arm sewn into the shirt. Belt/Waist - Across his waist is a green sash with a belt over it. On the belt there are various pouches, some with weapons in them, the others are either empty or have trinkets he has picked up. Pants/Shoes - His pants are a dark blue, almost black color. On the left leg, there is a green strip of fabric around the leg. For shoes he usually wears a pair of black sandals. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~Persona~ Personality: Kaitō seems to have two different social personalities. The first is how he normally is: a bit shy and quiet. During the time he was ill, he didn't socialize much, so this affected him a bit in terms of social interaction. It's not that he doesn't want to talk to people, but he just seems not to be able to at times. He is polite and nice enough, and he also can come off as an intelligent person when the rare conversation gets going far enough. His other personality (which has rarely been seen) comes out when he is in competition or in combat with someone. While he normally won't talk much in most situations, he likes to start to play mind-games with his opponents. He talks a lot more than normal and he seems to lose this 'shyness' that he had before. Whether or not this is a different personality it is hard to tell, but it only seems to come out when his adrenaline starts to pump. Despite this, his normal self is a shy and generally well mannered person. He is more or less a normal teenager: just trying to fit in with the other ninja his age and trying to make a name for himself in one way or another. He parents sort of think he is a bit rebellious at times, but not out of the ordinary for kids his age. He knows that genjutsu is not an easy path to make, but he is also fascinated with the mind and how it works, so it seems that it is a good fit. His dream is to eventually become a hunter-nin, and he thinks that someone who targets the mind would be a dangerous hunter. He thinks that the position of hunter-nin is necessary as well as honorable. Bringing criminals to justice for what they've done to him seems like a path that would be very fulfilling and exciting, two things he (and other teenagers) want in life. Likes: - Reading - Meditating - Deep thinking - Practicing his genjutsu - Eating - Fishing with his Dad Dislikes: - Excessive Exercise - Public speaking - Blood - People who are too loud for their own good - Taijutsu - Being Sick Favorites: -Food: Oranges and Grapes -Color: Green -Music Genre: Punk -Book Genre: Mystery/Thriller -Hangout: The docks at sunset (when there aren't many people there)
