  4. Clan Name: Shikami | 白神 Clan Village: Yukigakure (Iwagakure) Clan Starter: N/A; Clan formed by the original Council Clan Head: Lead by an Elected Elder Council of 3 Clan Age and Status: Ancient | Near Mythical | Disliked/Antagonistic Clan Bloodline: Nagoriyuki [Lingering Snow] Clan Element: Combinatorial: Snow Clan Emblem: Clan Info: Core Beliefs The Individuals Rights. The Core belief of the Shikami. Above all else, they believe in the individual's right to decide their own fate and path. They strive to aid, enable, and teach them to succeed. Their rights to be themselves are above nearly all. So long as they are not a danger to others, they are given near free-rule. Democratic Rule. The Second Core Philosophy of the Shikami. A nearly true and pure democracy. They elect their leaders via vote, those who’ve reached the adult age of [16], or become a chunin equivalent Shinobi considered an adult. These leaders are true to their words as they act in their constituents best interests. If at any time the people believe this to be untrue they may challenge their leaders in open council. Swords Sheathed By Peace When at all possible, most of the Shikami choose peace over war. They prefer to resolve things with words, politics, and anything at all possible before resorting to the blade. When that time comes though, they are relentless in the protection of their own. History The Shikami are one of the founding members of the nation-state of Yukigakure. They were there when the original ninja village of Yuki No Kuni was formed and built it alongside those other clans and wanderers that came together in mistaken idealism. Where-as the others grouped together to form a stronger nation-state as a 'minor country' under a single leader that would remain supreme the Shikami hoped that each clan, each individual, would have a say as many clans had done before the founding of Yukigakure. They lived under this misguided hope and preached to their comrades for years before it finally became enough for those elders of the clan when their 'beloved emperor' demanded subservience and loyalty. A tribute of their own clan's member's to his guard by force and not will. Less than a fortnight later the entire Shikami clan had disappeared from Yukigakure in a single night. Homes left abandoned and all but necessities left abandoned to the village they deemed a failure. Their innate link to the cold and snow through their Kekkai Genkai Nagoriyuki meant that they were able to flee to the area's that even those hardened and weathered Shinobi of Yuki no Kuni dared go to. They fled to the Northern reaches to establish their new home. Building a new rural village of their own clan near the Northern Sea, Hokkai, so that they would have access to fishing, transport, and other needed supplies. Even while this remote rural village was being established the 'core' forces of the clan were being built into the nearest mountain-base. A literal fortress city built and hidden away within the snow-packed mountains to be hidden away from all those but their closest allies and family. Despite their 'abandonment' of Yukigakure the clan was 'allowed' to remain independent. A 'pittance' of a tax paid to the Emperor after tense negotiations, long-rumored to both sides to have been a battle of the Emperor's strongest loyalists and the Shikami's leading members that ended in deadlock, ensured that they would remain independent. This tax was nothing compared to the income that the clan was able to draw in through the trading routes they'd gained by separating themselves and moving to the rich areas of the north by the sea. Things remained calm like this for countless decades. Their established ties with countries, via trade routes of the Northern sea and friendships that established them as a difference to the rest of Yukigakure, even helped them survive the Fujikaze Generator Explosion that ravaged much of the country. Their loss of life was grand, like many others, a quarter of their numbers dwindling overnight but peace and calm quickly returned within a short time unlike the rest of the ravaged country. At least until war broke out. The Shikami hid themselves away in their hidden village as soon as the N.C.I.A. came to be. Immediately regarding it as a threat that they would not be able to handle on their own or reason with they took the same stance they had when they fled the very village they had helped found. Hiding away from the world until their scouts had determined that it was safe to return to the world. During this time, they were lucky to have avoided death and experiments like many other had. Only a single-outer lying village had been massacred in the struggle of the N.C.I.A. and it's resistance. The elder's of it opting to remain, only to suffer for it. When the Shikami left their seclusion at the end of the war the village was a ghost town of already desiccated and stripped corpses. The world they returned to was one they had not been prepared for. Re-establishing friendships and connections was a near-impossibility from within Yukigakure. The 'Mad Emperor Matsuda' was a foul person. The Antithesis to the core beliefs of the Shikami he housed the former N.C.I.A. rebels and his loyalists were even more fanatical then they had been before. Within a short time skirmishes with the Shikami and the Emperor's men broke out. Once again, they faced a choice, to retreat or to fight. The disillusioned people voted for a return to their hidden away life. A small outpost was all that remained outside of the mountains. Housed by traders, merchants, and the Honorbound warriors of the Shikami only. The rest of the civilians returned to their hidden away cities permanently. Those that had ventured out returning to the quiet life within to be despised by those within their own country once again. Notable Members Current Council Leader’s: Shikami Maria [Elected/Chosen Head] Shikami Morimoto [Elected Foreign Affairs Head] Shikami Kenichi [Current Military Head/Trade Minister] Honorbound The Honorbound are the limited military force of the Shikami. 5. Nagoriyuki The Lingering Snow The essence of snow is undeniably intertwined with the blood of the Shikami. When cut their blood falls as fractal snowflakes, crimson and beautiful. As these haemic flakes gather, latent chakra builds up in them, gathering to form a ferocious blood blizzard that blesses the land with the undeniable majesty of the Shikami's gift. This is considered an Advanced System. All Advanced Chakra Regeneration is halted while it is active. Activation: 5% total Chakra. Upkeep: 5% total Chakra. Ranks in this skill may be taken ever 20 Levels. The User Most possess Combinatorial: Snow. While active, the user gains a new tank stat called Haemic Flakes, with a maximum value equal to 100. When the user takes damage while this advanced system is active, they gain 1 Haemic Flakes for every 5-X damage they take, where X is equal to the character's rank (1 for Gennin, 2 for Chuunin ect.). When a character's takes damage while they possess 100 Haemic Flakes, the climate becomes Snow and their Haemic Flakes are set to 0. Snow-Blessed With their mystical blood-bonded snow falling from the skies, the Shikami share an intimate connection with the world around them. The slightest movement impacts with the falling snow, which sends waves of sensation back to the Shikami. This gives them field wide awareness while snow falls, nothing escapes their notice while the sky's bloody tears fall. Effect: While the climate 'Snow' is in effect, this character gains 1.25X Accuracy and Evasion per rank in this skill, (where X is equal to the character's level) and may never be lower than 20. Bonuses given by this skill may never increase a stat beyond 1.5x It’s base. Ranks: 4 Cost: -1 Snow-Kissed Effects: The user may spend Haemic Flakes to add +X Damage to Chakra or Stamina damage to a snow jutsu, whichever the target of Snow chooses, where X is equal to the amount of Hameic Flakes the user spent. Description: The Shikami bloodline breeds an intimate connection to the winter's snow, and with this intimacy comes power. The shinobi who possess this mysterious bloodline learn to mix trace elements of their enchanted blood into the flurries they summon, sharing a measure of the intimacy they know with their opponents. Cost: -2 Snow-Bound Effect: The character gains the skill ‘Combinatorial: Snow’ for free. The character may purchase two ranks of the skill 'Ninjutsu Mastery; Snow' for one Skill Point. Description: Just as crystalline snow flows through their bodies so too do the winds of winter swirl and dance around the Shikami with ease, the slightest chill to the deepest freeze are expressed with such effortless grace that to some the Shikami are seen as the very embodiment of winter’s cool embrace. Cost: -2
  6. My Waifu's a Nazi, who knew.

  7. Myself, afaik, is the only PC. KC made it and has it on an NPC or two as well iirc? Needle http://ninja-academy-online.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=35395
  8. So, I heard you nerds liked that Anime and Manga crap? Well, guess what. I got something else for you. It's called, typically, Wuxia. If you can believe the internet it's 'literal' definition is "Martial Heroes". Some nerds like to call it "Webnovels" and "Chinese Light Novels" Well, those guys are discount weabs. It's that thing that SAO started off as... with less (or even more) harems. It depends. Who doesn't like a good Harem amiright KC? They do tend to range from PG-13 to Hard R+, so, beware. Unless explicitly stated, it's usually 'referenced' as actions off screen. Like how Sex is handled in PG-13 movies, etc. I'm not introducing hardcore content to minors. Nor am I condoning it. In all seriousness, You all should take note of these things. They're insanely long at times series that you can get lost in. Well crafted and built worlds with a multitude of characters and often times utter-ridiculousness and power creep. You all thought Naruto was bad? The protags in Wuxia tend to become literal gods, or even higher tiered beings that control reality. Chuck... are you god? These series are huge and the writers in Asian countries are like rockstars. The guy that wrote the premier/gateway Wuxia for most Western Audiences, I Shall Seal The Heavens (ISSTH) has a wardrobe that makes James Bond look like a redneck walmartian from your worst nightmares. The kind of money they can throw around is pretty obscene as well. Their popularity in their host countries tends to exceed fandom levels of Harry Potter and GoT over here in America. Being the nerd that I am, I stumbled upon this genre from a Manhua on my typical Manga reading site. (Manhua being a chinese adaption of these Wuxia into Manga/Comic form.) It startled a long spiral to the point where I have read literal THOUSANDS of chapters and dozens of novels that are either fully translated or partially translated. Translated I say? Yeah, It's like a Manga. It's done by scanlating/translating services. In all but 99% of the circumstances however they have actual licensing agreements with the Asian distributors. There's an insanely popular series that pulls in 20,000 (Yeah, that's the right amount of zeroes) a month to translate a series on Patreon. This stuff has a passionate fanbase. Most of these translators make a full-time job out of it because of their fanbases via Donations, License agreements, or Patreon. But that's enough about all that fancy money, this is a Utopia we don't care about that! The Sub Genres! Innumerable to count! Just like Manga, Novels, and other forms of Media you can't create blanket genres for the series. They do however tend to fall into a series of things: Daoist Style Cultivation. Magic and/or Ki(Qi) Cultivation. Enlightenment gaining power. (Magic, Qi, Daoist, etc.) Martial Arts series with little to-no supernatural element. VR/MMO style series are a hugely popular style at this moment. With many series beginning to take a 'level' element even if they aren't in a VR/MMO setting. Western Style Magic (Wizards, Witches, Demons, etc.) Now, hold on, what's "Cultivation" you ask? Well... that's not an easy answer. To sum it down into TL;DR terms (Why are you even bothering. Maiya) It's a character's growth/power as a cultivator/being. Think of.. cultivation as training and accumulating XP until you 'level up' in Game terms. Series tend to have tiers, and those tiers have levels. Take ISSTH that I mentioned above for example. It has the following levels: Qi Condensation, Foundation Establishment, Core Formation, Nascent Soul, Spirit Severing, Dao Seeking, Immortal, Ancient, Dao, Transcendence, and Ancestor (Seriously, Chuck, are you god?) for levels. Each of these stages having sub-levels beneath it. In most series you can see this boiled down into an "Early, Mid, Late, and Complete" Stage. With the occasional "Half-step to next level" realms. Or, in many cases, a simple 1-10, and hitting '11' is the next tier. Getting it now? Good. I don't like to repeat myself. "But, Maiya, what do you recommend then?" Well, Junior I'm glad you asked this Ancestor for guidance! Here's a few starting recommendations! ISSTH The Granddaddy of them all. The big Puba. The hype before the storm. Best of all? It's a complete translation. Coming in at a whopping 1600+ Chapters (Averaging about 2000-3000 Words a chapter.) it's a daunting task, and a bit weird of a start, but a good staring point. However... Desolate Era Remember that series where I said the guy made 20k A month? Yeah, it's this one. By far the most popular series for the longest time, until ISSTH picked up it's translation at a proper pace and outstripped it last year in popularity, this series has been going on for some time. At 1450 Chapters it's a Quintessential read and the second series that I read for Wuxia and what finally got me addicted. Stellar Transformations Not the best written series to ever exist it has it's cliche moments and starts out with a Deus Ex Machina and yet... Something about the Protagonist in all his Naivety is interesting to me. It might be that he's one of the few out there that settle on One Girl and follow her alone rather than unintentionally creating harems, creating them intentionally, or forsaking all of them. It's essentially a story about a young man who strives to prove himself to others and grow strong enough to protect those he cares about.. and along the way just so happens to become a badass. Whodathunk it? Warlock of the Magus World Another top-tier fan favorite series. I have.. yet to get far into this (Give me a break, did you read above where I said THOUSANDS of chapters?), but I've heard good things. TL;DR is taking a Scientist from a Gundam-esque timeline and throwing him into a world with Magic/Wizards... and a system where Science can break that magic. He also tends to be a less Naive Protagonist, so if that's your thing, go for it. And, Lastly, one more recently begun but hugely popular series I can't get enough of. The Book Eating Magician. Ah, BEM, you just don't care that you go all in on tropes, do you? Beware, the tags on novel rating/finding website Aptly Named Novel Updates that tracks updates/series tell.. a good story for this. In particular, "Cheats", it's unabashed in how unusual for his world the Protagonist is and how.. fun that can be. It's also the second most popular KOREAN LN right now. Special Mention to the most POPULAR Korean LN at the moment Overgeared A VR/MMO Style story with a protagonist that just so happens to share that "Cheats" tag when the butthurt fans don't downvote it into oblivion. (He's as h@x as h@x can be.) Just know this, if any of you all decide to pick any of this up and make stuff based on it, I get dibs on it too! Kidding, not really, maybe, sorry not sorry. For those of you that actually read all of this, thank you! I do hope some of you at least try it out. It's.. not the most well written content in the world, but most of it is free. *Unless you're going to Qidian International in which case fuck QI* And... It's better than Fan Fiction (Usually), and a great way to suddenly look down at a clock and see you need to go to work in two hours and haven't slept yet! If anyone has questions, recommendations, etc, let me know! If you'd like to try some series out and none of the above catch your eye, view the NovelUpdates website and you can search by popularity, tag, etc. Or WuxiaWorld will also be a good starting point with a few dozen series to begin with! Happy Trails folks!
  9. Necro-bump. I have a Really important question. Where do I Download the game? I've been wondering this for ages. Is there a steam client I've been missing? Are we console-locked? On another note. Cellphones on NA, why we no have? Dr. Pepper or Dr. Thunder? Potato or Potato? Have you ever contemplated making NA like some of the other more 'modern-era' attempts at a freemium style RP? Tell us, really. Is KC Bald? Is that just like... a super bad wig?

  12. River Runs Forth landed on the creature. This triggers Sky Dancer's previous Set-up Phase and Skill based effects. Tsururu Aria gains [2] Sky Dancer Charges. Response Phase Climate Reduced Accuracy by 10% Set-up Phase Set-up Phase Action - Sky Dancer Jutsu generates [1] additional charge if jutsu hit lands on opponent. Main Phase Electricity was dancing across her skin and flickering to life as she flipped back from the creature’s hulking frame. Putrid smelling blood, or so she hoped, was seemingly springing free from where she had hit. A small smirk exposed itself on her features as she twisted back into a standing position. Her body swaying and flowing as if to a shallow beat in her mind as she kept the ‘dance’ going inside of her. The electricity faintly sparking off of her as she bounded forward once again. If they had any momentum at all it was best that they continued to keep it. If the attack had hit once, why not try it a second time? It only made sense, at least to her, it would expose her to any counters that the creature’s addled brain might be able to think up as she repeated it but.. It was best to work with what she knew had landed once for the time being. She wasn’t intending to give this creature a chance to recover. Demonic as it was if she could leech it’s life-giving source away from it then it would die. That was just how nature, even otherworldly creatures, worked. It was a law of life. So, once again, her frame spun into the air above the creature and came crushing down with a splitting palm hoping to dig ever deeper into it’s exposed flesh and rend that wound into a gush inducing one. Main Phase “Okay… so you can do that. Gross.” Apparently this creature’s very screeching was enough to send it’s opponents back. That.. was going to be a problem. She took note of it and hesitated for the briefest of moments. Was it time to use the demon already? No. That was.. Pushing it. She would wait it out. She wanted to see how this creature responded to the exchanges that the four combatants would push out at this stage. They were all just getting a feeling for the creature now as it were. She doubted that any of her other-village ‘comrades’ were going full bore from the start either. Still, she seemed to be the only one thus far willing to make to get close to it. At least, temporarily. She was being shown up by the leaf brat. She couldn’t very well let that go. Smirking to herself she pushed off from where she was still recovering from the shockwave before. Her body wreathed in sparks to contrast the raging inferno on the other young woman. Air crackling with the intensity of her village’s own native element as she slammed her fist towards the creature’s face. Traditionally this move, in it’s simplicity, used an open palm on a humanoid target. She opted to go for the closed fist on the monster out of pure common sense that a beast would recover rather quickly from a simple palm blow. If this didn’t work.. She’d show it what a real demon was. Battle Data River Runs Forth Used. 16. As NA's designated retail bitch I would like to make a plea and post to all of you and your families. Please Respect The Grunts. We all know how the Holidays can be chaotic and crazy. It's doubly so for those of us that work retail. We all want that perfect item for our significant other or need that perfect turkey. We might not all always get it. That is okay. Please remember that the workers at retail like, grocery, and other service industries will be EXTRA busy the next month plus. Thanksgiving is a week away and Christmas is only forty odd days as well. We in the service and retail industry typically work long or difficult days and not all of our customers understand how little control we have over what we get or stock. Personally I can attest for Walmarts. Home Office uses a computer algorithm to control how much of what we get in. The associates, their managers, even their salaried staff cannot order or control what we get. So if you're looking for that SNES classic or Fingerling this year.... We aren't hoarding them, we aren't refusing to stock them, we can't order them and we certainly can't hold them for you. In fact we likely won't get them ourselves. I can't buy games in store for 24 hours after they release per policy. This is corporate wide. Just remember... We all are people, we're all annoyed, and we're all testy this season. It's not a reason to yell, scream, berate, or get physical with us. This is most definitely happening already and I've seen and experienced it personally. Even just one person that's kind, understanding, and thanks someone will brighten their day. So, please be nice and thank us and don't be offended if we don't answer you right away. Seriously, we don't always hear you. It's that simple. Sincerely, NA's resident retail slave.
  17. Response Phase Climate Reduced Accuracy by 10% Set-up Phase N/A Main Phase Aria rose an eyebrow as the creature screeched at her. Letting out a heavy sigh as she glanced over at her companions. Nobody seemingly wanted to make the first move. The very air in front of the creature seemed to harden and take shape between them. Cringing Aria couldn’t help but let out a heavy sigh. “Anyone… know a good way to explode the air itself? Could come in handy now…” The Nekomata inside of her might be able to pull it off if she really went wild, but was it going to come down to that right away? No. She really wasn’t open to such an idea. Rather, and instead, she took a slow stroll towards the left to separate herself from the group. If worst comes to worst she’d just unleash the beast within and slam her fist straight into the mutated frogs hide and hope that these 'comrades' of hers didn't turn on her for it. 18. A Final Reservation Space. She's good to go for approval. A tertiary Character. Aria in Kumogakure and Kasumi in Konohagakure are both above the required levels to make a tertiary by a 'fair' bit. She's not all that fleshed out, just enough to get a good idea of what you're playing/working with. I'll most likely expand upon her when I get around to creating a Wikia page. If it affects her in any substantial way I'll have her drawn back to be reapproved. (Note, it'd just be a flavor/non mechanical expansion of information such as history, personality, appearance, etc.)
