  1. Thanks for the assistance once again! I've updated with all the suggestions. I think I'm fine with getting rid of counters, so I've just used your first suggestion for Painful Wounds.
  2. Makes sense! I've removed the levels and attributes. A Thousand Cuts: I've replaced [Sickened] with [Metabolic Shock], since it's a similar end-result to what I was aiming for. Metabolic Shock is a stronger Status Effect, however, so I'm not sure if it makes the ability too strong? Spirit Cutter: Done! Full Moon Seal: Updated! I did my best with the wording, but let me know if anything is unclear or needs rephrasing.
  3. Apologies! Not sure how I managed to miss that in the first place; should be all fixed up.
  4. Okay, so these are both weapons for my Konoha nin, Kenji for use with his two taijutsu styles. First time making any weapons, so I've got no idea on the costing of the special abilities (or if they're too strong for weapon abilities), so any feedback is appreciated!
  5. Nisshoku | Solar Eclipse | 日食 Weapon Type: Katana Size: Medium Special Abilities: Painful Wounds: During any turn they are hit by this weapon, opponents lose X Health whenever they perform a Taijutsu technique. X is equal to 10% of the base Stamina cost of the technique. A Thousand Cuts: Weapon Attacks performed with this weapon that inflict Weakened and or Metabolic Shock add one additional turn to the status effect's duration, up to the status effect's maximum duration. Description: Forged from cold iron by the Mochizuki clan, Nisshoku is practically the antithesis of its counterpart. In addition to the unearthly chill it leaves in its wake, the edge itself is razor sharp, perfect for leaving deep, painful wounds. Slightly shorter than the average katana, the cross guard is a simple black circle outlined by a gold rim, invoking the likeness of the sun obscured by the moon. Cost: 両??? Gesshoku | Lunar Eclipse | 月食 Weapon Type: Katana Size: Medium Special Abilities: Spirit Cutter: Basic Weapon Attacks performed with this weapon inflict Chakra damage instead of normal damage and do not receive damage modifiers. Full Moon Seal: Once per battle per ninja rank, the user may add the following effect to attacks performed with this weapon: "When hit, the opponent gains 'Knowledge Seal; X', where X is a Ninjutsu technique the opponent used in their last turn that the user selects. 'Knowledge Seal X' lasts until the end of the battle, this weapon is destroyed, or this weapon is unequipped." Knowledge Seal; [X] Description: Rumoured to have been forged by some long-forgotten ancestor of the Mochizuki from a star that fell from the sky, the metal has the unusual ability to absorb chakra via blood contact. Slightly shorter than the average katana, the cross guard is a simple dull, red circle, invoking the likeness of the moon in shadow. Cost: 両???

  7. This time, Kumori was ready. Landing lithely on the ground, she pivoted around on one foot and kicked with all her might, slamming her metal-clad shin dead center through the ball of golden webbing. Sure, it exploded; almost knocking her entirely off balance. Sure, it showered her in razor-sharp shards of webbing. But, she'd certainly done worse to herself before while experimenting with her own explosive techniques. Hissing in pain as the golden spikes pierced into her, Kumori continued to press her attack, launching herself forward towards Himiko once again. Now wasn't a time for hesitation, it was a time for action! Clenching her jaw tight, Kumori once more channeled lightning chakra through her body, ignoring the rush of pain to her overstimulated nerves. Yanking the golden spikes free from her chest and shoulder, she imbued them with chakra and hurled them towards the relentless pair, silently praying it would be enough to bring them down. [Response Phase] Kumori gains 2 Conduit Charges for successfully hitting twice. Now at 3 Conduit Charges Total. Kumori attempts to dodge Gold Bomb: 72, BLOCK! 8. Continuing to blaze toward Himiko and Kimiko in a surge of speed and power, Kumori quickly closed the distance between herself and her foes as the onslaught of attacks began to rain down on her. As the first cannonball of golden webbing rocked directly towards her chest she twisted to one side, already impressive reflexes enhanced further still by her Mantle of the Thunder God. As the first projectile shot past, near enough to ruffle her clothing, the blonde threw herself forward into an aerial walkover, narrowly slipping through the gap between the shuriken and kunai that had been launched in her direction. As impressive as her acrobatic manevoure had been, however, it didn't leave her much time to react when the terror twins triggered their terrible trap. Lightning chakra surging through her system, she began to twist away from the projectile shooting towards her head -- and her mantle disappeared. Barely managing to bring her arm up in front of her face in time, there was an impressive thump of concussion force as it slammed into the limb, sending her crashing to the dirt just in time to take four senbon to the side. Despite the pain, however, the speedy Sokudo didn't let herself linger for long. Turning her awkward crash-landing into a passable tumble, Kumori sprung back up to her feet, launching herself into a series of aerial kicks aimed directly towars Himiko. [Response Phase] Kumori gains a 1 Conduit Charge for successfully hitting. Kumori attempts to dodge Golden Binary Star: 66, HIT! Mantle of the Thunder God takes 205 Damage! 9. Clenching her teeth against the pain of her defensive technique, Kumori held herself perfectly still - for the moment, at least. As the unnerving person - people? - used a basic clone technique, the scarred shinobi sighed internally. That would be a pain; though at least it was something that she'd begun to get prepared for. Taking one last steadying breath, she reached into the small pouch at her hip, fishing out a handful of marbles. "I don't know what your deal is..." Kumori announced loudly, stalling for time as she charged up the handful of marbles in her hands with chakra. Eyes locked on that ball of golden webbing she twisted back slightly, winding up for a throw, "...but it's not working to work!" Hurling forward the sparce handful of marbles in a wide arc towards the clones, Kumori surged forward swiftly after her attack, hoping to close the distance between herself and her opponents as quickly as possible. ___________ [Response Phase] No action [Setup Phase] No action [Main Phase] Kumori uses Conduit Style: Diffuse Meteor Swarm as an Area of Effect technique. 10. Strolling casually through the trees, pack slung over her shoulder, Kumori let out a long sigh as she took note of the scored and scratched tree only a few feet away from her. Great. "Bounty hunters? That's just swell. Exactly what I needed right now, ugh." Absent-mindedly reaching up to comb a lock of hair in front of her face in a half-hearted attempt to hide the jagged scar, she unslung the pack from her shoulder, dropping it to the ground beside her before crouching down into a sprinting pose. 12. Updated! Those are great suggestions, thanks! I'm not quite sure if I've got the wording correct for 'When a user performs a damage-dealing [Evening Star Style] technique, they may spend one Evening charge add an additional strike that is performed before the technique is resolved. This strike deals no damage, but inflicts [Exposed] if successful.', so let me know if it needs to be re-worded at all.
  13. Okay! I've made the suggest changes. For Morning Star Style, I've gone with a 30x increase to base speed for one turn. It's a smaller boost than the Accuracy for Evening Star Style, since it's still paired with the Fail Chance reduction for RPJ. But the general idea is that, succeed or fail with the RPJ at least the next turn will come around a bit faster. I'm not sure what the CP value of the fail chance reduction is, so I'm happy to drop down the 30x speed increase if necessary.
  14. Hi Almonds! Thank you very much for all the detailed feedback, there was a lot there that I didn't know (obviously). And that's a good point about Golden Lion style. My apologies, I wasn't trying to intrude on anyone else's design space. I've made some revisions that should (hopefully) be better: - I've changed the Charge-gaining condition for Morning Star Style to just being on a successful hit, to simplify things. - I've changed the Charge-losing condition for Morning Stay Style to 'If an opponent performs a non-damaging main phase jutsu', which I just kind of think is an interesting idea. It gives the opponent an easy way to control my charges, but it makes sense that a defense-focused style would lose 'momentum' when the opponent wasn't attacking. - I've changed the second ability on Morning Star Style to being a 5% decrease to the failure change for RPJ per charge spent. This means that for Chuunin level RPJ, I can spend 5 charges to decrease the Fail Chance down to the default 5% and gain my Setup Phase back. And it lessens the risk for getting my main phase back for Jounin and Sennin rank. Since it can't drop the risk below the default 5% (and spending 5 charges at once is quite costly) I think it seems fair? But I don't really have anything to compare it against. - I've changed the second ability of Evening Star Style to be 'Spend for a flat 40x accuracy on the attack', which is hopefully more balanced. It's a better buff than before at low accuracy, but a worse (though not insubstantial) one with 2000 accuracy. It's scaled off the normal 40cp value of a Taijutsu Charge, and the 1:1 stat increase scaling for Gennin Taijutsu.
  15. Alrighty, I've updated Condition 1 to match Princess' suggested wording, so hopefully that's better.
  16. Alright, so, hopefully these are nice and straightforward. The status effects for both styles are within the normal costs (Exposed is 40cp, Weakened is 35cp). The passive bonuses are based off Golden Lion Style for the Block Range increase, and Rising Tempest Style for the accuracy increase. I understand that Passive bonuses based off number of charges are quite strong, which is why each style has a way to lose charges (failing to inflict a status effect, and failing to hit) to balance things out. I'm a little uncertain if missing an attack is 'likely' enough with the Accuracy bonus provided by Evening Star Style to be considered an appropriate weakness, so just let me know if I need to make any changes to either style!
  17. Asasei-ryu | Morning Star Style | 朝星流 Originally developed by Mochizuki Ichiro, Asasei-ryu focuses heavily on defense, turning aside foes’ attacks with sweeping blocks and parries before retaliating with careful weakening strikes to methodically bring down opponents. Effect: [Morning Star Style] taijutsu techniques generate an "Morning" charge when the user successfully hits. The user is able to store a maximum of 5 Morning charges, which can be used for the following: - When a user performs a damage-dealing [Morning Star Style] technique, they may spend X Morning charges (Maximum 2) to add [Weakened (X)] to the technique. - As a free action in the Response Phase, the user may spend X Evening Charges to reduce the chance to fail of any Evening Star Response Phase techniques they perform this turn by 5X%. This may not reduce a technique's chance to fail below 5%. Additionally, the user receives a +5X% chance to dodge bonus until the end of this phase. This bonus is halved for Concentration-based attacks, rounded down. - Morning charges can be spent to pay for the costs of techniques that require them. Requirements: None Cost: -1 Yorusei-ryu | Evening Star Style | 夜星流 Originally developed by Mochizuki Ichiro, Yorusei-ryu focuses heavily on offense. Practitioners are encouraged to only strike when the moment is absolutely perfect, and to commit entirely to each and every blow. Effect: [Evening Star Style] taijutsu techniques generate an "Evening" charge when the user successfully hits. The user is able to store a maximum of 5 Evening charges, which can be used for the following: - When a user performs a damage-dealing [Evening Star Style] technique, they may spend one Evening charge to add an additional strike to the technique. This additional strike becomes the first strike of the technique, deals no damage and inflicts [Exposed] on hit. - When a user performs an [Evening Star Style] technique, they may spend X Evening charges to increase their base Accuracy by 40x if the technique was Genin or Chuunin rank, or 60x if the technique was Jonin or Sennin rank, for one turn. - Evening charges can be spent to pay for the costs of techniques that require them. Requirements: None Cost: -1
  18. Yeeeeep, completely forgot about that. I've changed the wording to 'The user must have successfully negated the opponent's attack with a Response Phase Jutsu since the opponent's last turn.', so it should be usable as long as the user is able to take two turns in a row.
  19. Time for some maths! Sharp Rebuke Exposed = 40 30 damage = 20 Total = 60 (2 JP +1 for Hybrid) First Dawn 1 Charge = 40 10 damage = 10 Total = 50 (3 JP +1 for Hybrid)
  20. Name: Kashikoi Shisseki | Sharp Rebuke | 賢い叱責 Type: Hybrid; Ninjutsu|Taijutsu [Dynamic Trap|Conduit Style|Explosion] Rank: Chuunin Cost: 32 Stamina, 32 Chakra Condition 1: The user must have successfully negated an attack from the target during the last two turns. Condition 2: The opponent must have used the attack negated by the Response Phase Jutsu at least [1] other time this battle. Damage: 30 Effects: Exposed [1] Description: 'That won't work a second time!' - Instead of attempting to dodge, the ninja instead flings themself directly into an attack, knocking it aside and delivering an unexpected counter-attack while their opponent's line of sight is obstructed by their own attack. 21. Rising Tempest Style | Bōfūuryū | 暴風雨流 Combining the fluid movements of Conduit Style with the raw speed and power of the Speed Force, Rising Tempest style transforms the user from a mere blur of movement to a veritable force of nature. Characterised by lightning fast strikes and acrobatic manoeuvres, there are few capable of remaining calm amidst such a tempest. Effect: Rising Tempest Style may only be activated when Speed Force is active. When activated, all of the user’s Conduit Charges become Induction Charges. If Rising Tempest Style is deactivated by any means, all Induction Charges will become Conduit Charges. While using this style, all taijutsu, weapon, and basic attacks are considered to be [Lightning] in addition to their other effects. At the end of their turn, if the user did not use a Rising Tempest technique during their Main Phase, they lose 1 Induction Charge. Should the Speed Force be deactivated, Rising Tempest Style is immediately deactivated as well, and all Induction Charges revert to Conduit Charges. Rising Tempest Style is considered to be Conduit Style for all purposes. The user also gains the following effects based on their current number of charges: 0 Charges: No Bonus 1 Charge: The user’s base Evasion is increased by +3%. 2 Charges: The user’s base Evasion is increased by +6%. 3 Charges: The user’s base Evasion is increased by +9%. 4 Charges: The user’s base Evasion is increased by +12%. 5 Charges: The user’s base Evasion is increased by +15%. In addition, the user may choose to spend ‘x’ Induction Charges as a free action in their Main Phase to increase the base damage of all [Conduit Style] attacks by 6x%. However, at the end of the Main Phase this is used, the user’s Speed Force and Rising Tempest Style are immediately deactivated, and all remaining Induction Charges become Conduit Charges. The user may not user Induction Charges to pay for the active abilities of Conduit Style and Rising Tempest Style in the same turn. Requirements: Conduit Style, Speed Force Cost: -2 Doukanryu | Conduit Style | 導管流 Advanced Taijutsu Styles [Alright, so, the value of the charges are based off the Molten Fist advanced style. The damage increase for spent charges is loosely based off the Main Site Taijutsu styles. 6x% is slightly higher than the usual 5x%, but I think the downside of having to spend 5% Chakra and 5% Stamina to activate Conduit Style again afterwards hopefully balances things out.]
