Shugo has one mission and one mission alone, to protect the Kyoukage and all of Otogakure no Sato from danger.

Organization History

Shugo was developed after Otogakure was freed from the NCIA's control. It was created for one purpose and one purpose alone. Shugo was created to help protect Oto from threats that are made from the outside and the inside. The members of this group are some of the strongest ninja in Oto, each being powerful in their own way. Each of their powers can be from strategy, to brute strength, to even being a powerful medic.

Each member of the group wears masks to conceal their identity. However, unlike the regular ANBU ninja, these masks are black at the top of the mask and slowly to the bottom become a deep purple. The markings, instead of being red, are white. Once a person joins Shugo, they are forbidden to reveal that are a part of the organization except to those who are also in the organization. But each of their masks are different. Each mask represents a different animal of the Chinese Zodiac, usually to go with the wearer's personality (Like Dragon for intelligence, Ox for strength, Rat for stealth, etc.) whereas the ANBU can have a mask of any form of animal. Not only are each of these masks make these people distinct, but also their uniforms. They wear a black jumpsuit, usually quite not loose around their bodies, and dark purple armor.

Those who retire from Shugo are asked to give up their mask and necklace to the person that will take their place. This person will usually be a person that the member chooses to take their place. A small little initiation ceremony will be held for this new person as they are put into the force.

Secret Rice Technique Iota: Hen'you no Justu (Changed Apperance Technique)

Type: Ninjustu

Rank: Jounin (Shugo)

Cost: 50 + 30x (x=amount of turns after first made)

Effects: User of this technique turns into the animal that represents their mask. All civillian clothing is lost though the armor the person wears along with any weapons changes shape to color into the animal that they change into or changes onto things that are on said animal (like a sword could become a cat tail). Things, like glasses, just become markings (like glasses become a circle around the persons eyes). Also, if the animal they change into does not have hands, they cannot use ninjustu or genjustu unless it doesn't involve hand seals.

Description: A shapeshifting justu, using no hands, where the user makes several hand seals and soon begin to change shape. They become more animal like until they are, actually, an animal. Depending on what said animal is and on what they are wearing can change what they look like. But one thing is for certain, the animal's are always a dark color, whether its a dark green, a dark brown, or a black, or some other color, is all dependant on the user. However, once the user changes shape, they can only change to that shape specifically. They may not change into another animal.

Secret Rice Technique Delta: Ishi no Justu (Stone Technique)

Type: Ninjustu

Rank: Jounin (Shugo)

Cost: 200

Effects: The user of this skill turns into a stone statue of the animal that their mask represents. While in this form, they may not they hurt anyone else. They may revert at any time they wish and just as easily come back whenever they want.

Description: Another shapeshifting justu where the user becomes a stone statue of the animal their mask represents. What the animal looks like is all dependant on the user of this technique.

Secret Rice Technique Xi: Chikara wo Kyouyuu Surutame no Justu (To Share One's power Technique)

Type: Ninjustu (Shugo)

Rank: Sennin

Cost: 225 is paid by each person invovled, 180 chakra to maintain per turn

Effect: At minimum 4 people must be involved with this technique and at max 13 people. While this technique is in effect, stop all form of regeneration whether it be stamina, chakra, or health. No skills may be used to stop this effect. This is casted on one of the people involved in the technique. This person is allowed to continue battle as normal but those who are casting this justu may not attack the opponent or use any form of justu unless it was already being used before this justu is casted. When the casted person uses a justu, divide the cost of the justu by the number of people involved. Then each of the other people involved with this technique pay this cost instead of the user. If any of the people cannot pay for their part of the cost, it may be sent to another person. Should the person who this justu is casted has any of their tank stats damaged, they again are divided by the number of people involved this justu. This must be done to all people. No one may shift their damage to another person. Each person must pay thier part in the damage. Any skills that involve an upkeep (such as bloodlines or the celestial gates) are paid by the person who is using them. This is not sent to other people involved. Should the casted use any clone justu, the clone justu are not effected by this technique nor may any clones use this technique. If one person is knocked out, then you continue as normal until either every person involved with this justu breaks the justu or each one is knocked out.

Description: To support one of their more powerful teammates, the members of Shugo are taught this justu. This justu consists of each person making their hand symbol that goes with their animal. With this they cast it on their teammate and in a sense become one with them. The person who this justu is casted also makes a hand symbol, but may still fight as normal. The other members however may not attack the opponet or use any form of justu. Their concentration is set on the casted and they must maintain their handseal in order for this justu to stay successful. What this technique does is share the use of each technique to divide among the ninja involved with the justu. With each cost split, the fighter of the group will be able to last longer in battle. Sometimes this may be used as a last means when fighting a large group of people. When all the members of Shugo are together with the Kyoukage, this technique will give the Kyoukage a sense of "unlimited" power. While the members of Shugo are unable to attack anyone, their Kage will be able to completely destroy any opposing forces. This technique is often used with the Four Man Purple Flame Array Technique to defend those who are not fighting.

Secret Rice Technique Mu: Kishuu (First Attack)

Type: Taijutsu (Shugo)

Effects: Used in the first Main Phase. Allows you to attack your opponent on this phase. However, you may not attack your opponent for the next turn and you no longer have your set-up phase for the next turn as well.

Description: A technique that many members of Shugo are taught if they are more powerful in the physical arts. This technique is one to start off battle where you attack your opponent head on. This is usually done through means on an ambush. Quite effective when multiple people use it on the same person.

Secret Rice Technique Nu: Fuiuchi no Justu (First Attack Technique)

Type: Ninjutsu (Shugo)

Effects: Used in the first Main Phase. Allows you to attack your opponent on this phase. However, you may not attack your opponent for the next turn and you no longer have your set-up phase for the next turn as well.

Description: A justu taught to the members of Shugo who are primarily strong in the field of Ninjustu. The way this technique is always the same but what actually attacks the opponent varies. This is a technique used to ambush an opponent. While they are trying to ready for an attack, the user will send out their attack catching them off guard. This attack can differ between people. Just like each person is different, so is this technique.

Effect: All of the pieces are connected directly to the wears life force and the other necklaces. Should the wearer die, the other members will be able to tell within 5 seconds of actual death. The exact location of where the person died isn't told, but a general direction is. This may not be a targeted item. This, if the person should die, returns to the Kyoukage. No attributes may be added to this item.

Description: 1 of 13 necklaces. The necklace jewel is roughly 2 inches in width and length. The jewel is a silver color and is the Kanji of which zodiac sign the wearer is. The string used to keep said jewel around the neck differs from person to person. Each necklace is attached to the wears own life force as well as the other 12 pieces. Should the user die, the necklace gain what remaining power and sends a message to all the other necklaces to where the dead body location, though the exact location isn't given, only a general direction. It's said that all of these necklaces were fashions from some magic silvery rock. But seriously, who will believe that?

Effect: While wearing the mask, the wearer's identity is hidden. But only if the mask is the owners. Unless given to another person, another person may not use this mask to cover their identity. This, if the person should die, returns to the Kyoukage. This may not be a targeted item. No attributes may be added to this item.

Placement: Head

Description: A white mask that has the facial features of an animal in the Chinese Zodiac (1 of 13). Each mask has the facial features of said animal that are physically on the mask (such as a dragon snout or a bird's beak) that are sometimes given black markings as detail. When a person retired from Shugo, they usually give their mask to the person taking their place.
