Affordability had clinched it for me. PS3 is way superior, but it's ridiculous too- that aside, Killzone will never really be a franchise with bigger cult following than Halo (I say this even though I really hate the Hako series, and prefer to look at Killzone).

I use to be a Sony fan hardcore, mainly for FF series and other RPG's. But PS3 is to expensive with a slack game collection.

I personally dislike Halo, but do play it at friends house from time to time. I use to hate Xbox, but after half my friends picking up 360, I became a fan and the game selection is pretty nice. They even have appealing games of RPG to me, which is a massive plus since those are my fav type games.

Until I see a price drop and a better game selection with PS3, it will remain far behind the competition.

Sony did start off weak as hell with that this go around, but there steping that up as well. G4 and such believe Sony had one the E3 of this year and such. Although we still have no rpg's really. Besides folklore(Which is going to be good. ) most of our rpg's don't come out until 08.

Oh, and btw kenji, even if it doesn't get its merit as a game system, sales are everything in this world with those guys, and thats why the game cube is considered such a BIG F**KING FLOP!

Edit: Also, they expect a permanent price drop for the ps3 by the end of the year Ichi, which should help with the sales to judging from the good results of lowering the 60 gig.

They are retarded for making it so much money when the other 2 systems are literally half the price, with more games out. So unless your rich, or die hard sony, the average parent/gamer, is going to go with the cheaper system, with more games. It really is a no brainer.

Blue ray is a waste of time right now as the disc to buy are retardedly over priced when all you need is a nice TV and a dvd player and the picture is already nice.

Well..they really didn't have a choice speaking what they put in it. Cant really call it blu ray useless though speaking its beating hd-dvd 2 to 1. Also, Nintendo didn't really back-stab Sony. The only reason Nintendo ditched the SNESCD was because they believed that Sony would have to much control over the production of their games. It's a perfectly understandable corporate move that, unfortunately, forced the N64 to take a backseat to the original Playstation.

But we're talking about NOW. You see, Nintendo is worth more than Sony. Period. ALL of Sony USA, including their TV division, movie division, electronics division, etc. This is understandable, considering each PS3 is a $241.35 loss, while the Wii and DS are giving about $50 per console to Nintendo. If you're talking about money, then Nintendo has it won.

Who cares about the past? Nintendo's in the lead now, and their sales aren't plateauing...unlike the PS3's sales.

Look, the PS3 is going to be like the PSP. Superior in technology, but will ultimately sell much less. Let's not get started about the DS vs PSP debate.

As for money wise, Sony as well as Microsoft is going for the long term profit. Sh** happens right now. And like I said, 4.28 out of 6 is not bad. Its just taking them a little longer to sell do to cheap people and family people. Simple as that.

And once again, the conclusion of this is that its too early to determine a winner at the moment, year one isn't even over.

I understand that you are mostly bringing "honest" facts to the table, unlike Miso (who is just being a complete fanboy). Still, what the hell are you talking about giving Sony props? Am I REQUIRED to do so? I already said that the Blu-Ray format is beating the HD-DVD format. There's not much else going on for the PS3 at the moment, and yes...FF13, KH3, MGS4 and junk are eventually going to come for the PS3, but are those games going to be enough? Will Sony even be able to keep its exclusivity? We'll see.

Just a few random things:

- It feels really desperate to just be saying "the gamebox# will beat you when they start to release more games" or "they will be selling more when they reduce the price". All consoles will have great games that soon will be released, so unless there's a new revolutionary game, like the GTA3 for the PS2 (though it really wasn't that innovative...). And I'm sorry to say this, but both wii and Xbox360 have more interesting exclusives on the pipe right now...

- Talking about exclusives. Let's take a look at the three games Ichi stated above; FF13, KH3 and MGS4. I will give you FF13, though I would dare to say that FFCC:CB will be a good rival for it. The one for gamecube did not do very well in sells, but it was a good game. KH3, well... I'm not so sure about that exclusive one. Remember that they already made a release for the GBA, so why wouldn't they do another one for i.e. the Wii? Square have after all got a better relation with Nintendo, and the only thing they have said they wouldn't do for them is a massive MMORPG, probably because they would have to hold the servers. Then we have MGS4. Great game, though there have appeared a few that actually can rival it, like Splinter Cell. Also, Snake appears as a playable character in Super Smash Bros., so who knows about a Metal Gear on the Wii?

- A price reduction is something that the PS3 really needs, but I don't think they will be able to catch up on the other two. There will probably be a price reduction for the Xbob360 and Wii as well soon. And the PS3 will still be too expensive.

- As for the Blu-ray vs. HD-DVD, sure, the Blu-ray is winning in this one. But then remember that the normal DVD is still living. When that one disappears, we will be able to see what happens. As I mentioned in a previous post, the porn industry decided the previous battle (BETA vs. VHS). As for what I have heard, this time it will go for the HD-DVD...

- PS2 have way more interesting games then PS3.

- Online both for Guitar Heroes3 and DB Budokai tenkaichi 3, wii versions. Yay!

- Halo 3. Lol. Do anyone still remember that this thread is about it?
