The Shitareno Clan

[below the Desert]

空のダンス

Shitareno Ichizoku;

Clan Origin: Sunagakure no Sato

Clan Starter: Unknown

Clan Head: Shitareno Renova

Clan Age: Mostly old, but not prior to the establishment of Sunagkure no Sato. They came about in the birth of the modern civilization, as when enough people get together something tends to happen- is this case, the family.

Clan Status: The Shitareno are often feared, mistrusted and loathed, with good reason. Their tendency for crime is higher than the normal family, as they have been known to run many mob operations across the country. But, there are those who will themselves to be used by shinobi institutes and serve a greater good, so some people are willing to look the other way. Seeing a Shitareno is a hit or miss thing, if you see one- chances are you'll see a few more. Some consider them a plague or germ since they hold in concentration, but often in invisible settings. If you find yourself in the presence of a Shitareno who isn't working for Sunagakure, you'd better be a hired hand lest you like to count down your internal clock.

Clan Bloodline: Morsus.

Clan Element: None.

Clan History;

“Some people say hiding things is a sign of weakness. They don't live very long."

Through the spectrum of human history, tall tales of epics and fantastic voyages liter the dreams an tongues of many humans. They wish to explain their origins in large scope ways that tantalize the mind and provide incentive for greatness. Most of these stories have passed through several generations, some changed, others sacredly unaltered- but so much time has passed that it's virtually unknown if these tales ever came to be. Certainly, as every good ninja should know, skepticism is often one's guide to failure.

The patriarch tale of the Shitareno doesn't deal with a name, but only a title. Koenig. He was heralded as a man who vanquished a Scorpion King, a great monarch of the desert. After he defeated this beast, Koenig stole the critter's tail and venom ducts and infused them in his body as the blunder of the day. After the infusion, he was able to weave the poison systems into his own body and his physiology became more like the arthropod. Koenig's descendent's fancy themselves to interweave their nuclear family history into his own personal line.

Genertic dating and records would present the most logical perpetrator of this family's adaptation to a man named Cormag. He existed near enough to when the common agreement of Koenig's reign was apparent, but it's unclear whether Cormag was the actual Koenig, he made the story up, or he was just an unfortunate byproduct of unrelated evolution that placed him in this family. Records indicate that Cormag was a criminal. He stole, lied and cheated the government- made his living off others as a past time and eventually drew up a crime syndicate in Sunagkure no Sato. Eventually, his unlawfulness caught up to him and he was chased out of the village, to where he went to the only place he could viably escape the law- under the sand. He dug and dug and dug and made a home for himself, which it turned out, he had a severe cause of agoraphobia. How he managed to commit so many crimes under the veil of fearing leaving one's house is impressive, to say the least. But to cope with leaving his home village, he built a very safe one, secluded beneath the desert. While maintaining his shelter, he ran into a nest of scorpions, was aptly stung and viciously fought back. He made them his meal for a while, as dreadful as that was. With all his mediocre medical skills, it was pure dumb luck that he survived the mass of poison driving through his veins- he probably even started to begin believing he was a scorpion- which made the genetic changes a lot easier in the long run.

He came out of his hole a few times, enough to mate with a woman and flee before his anxiety kicked up. He was eventually caught and executed, after taking a few lives of law enforcement- but he had already sewn his genetic code into a woman. She'd give birth to a family with criminology in their writeup.

Though they exhibited a physiological structure similar to Cormag, the government was willing to look past this due to some of the unfortunate beginnings of these children. They came about through black tape moral crimes, to be sure. The Shintareno family grew steady, as did the village and though they mostly kept to themselves, things were dandy. They were a family of crimes, to be sure, but there were enough mild mannered relatives to balance the power and not be completely distrusted by everybody. They were useful in bagging and tagging criminals, as ironic as that was- which was exactly what the shinobi force asked them to do.

When the cloud fell on Sunagakure, the Shitareno did what they did best. They dug themselves under the sands for the duration of the occupation. Few fought and died for Suna, some for the NCIA- in fact, most who didn't revert to seclusion joined the Empire since they appreciated the Shitareno might. Only recently bringing their heads back to the surface, the Shitareno took advantage of the refugee hot spots across the land and set up shop. Some wanted honest reintegration into town, others, well, just couldn't let go of bad habits. The current clan head, Renova, just so happens to follow in Cormag's shoes.

Soemtimes crime is just a way of making a living;
