"I will forge the Swords that will save us all, I will be the fire that drowns the fear. Together we will strike down Hell and place all the earth beneath our feet.

-(Excerpt from the diaries of Zandoran Koginu)

Zandoran Ichizoku;

Clan Origin: Kirigakure no Sato
Clan Starter: Unknown, the true name of the clan founder was lost and buried in the annals of time. According to the Zandoran folklore, the founder brandished the title 'Fire User'.
Clan Head: Zandoran 'Fireheart' Zoa (Kirigakure no Sato) & Zandoran ‘Ironheart’ Maranassa (Zandoran Isle). 'Fireheart' and ‘Ironheart’ are titles that the clan heads are known by in their respective regions. Clan heads are elected through a competition process of forging the strongest and most lavish weapon. Each candidate must travel to the Zandoran Isle and forge the weapon from the special ore only found on the isle and complete a ritual of forgery that may only be used during clan head elections. Each weapon will battle the other until one remains. The rest are thrown into the volcano and may never be designed again.
Clan Age: The clan is ancient, the family had begun well before the creation of shinobi villages and continues towards this day. While originating on an isle outside of the village Kirigakure, the Zandoran now coexist in the village and their isle.
Clan Status: The Zandoran are reasonably well respected but often undermined as far as Kirigakure clans are considered. Even the Hozuki, a non-founder clan has more publicity than the Zandoran. This does not truly upset the clan, as they were born supporters. Truly the Zandoran have the highest order of diplomacy in Kirigakure nobility and their value of honor rivals that of the Suizuma.

Clan History;

Out of spiritual reverence, every Zandoran will claim the First User as their patriarch, however scholarly records will place their genesis at the summit of a magnificent volcano in the island archipelago of Mizu no Kuni. The people built and rebuilt their society after every eruption like ore being hammered into steel. They stayed well after they developed the ability to traverse the seas for pride and reverence for the land they had grown to adapt to. They were tied to the island, believing the First User was sealed inside the volcano for his crimes against humanity. With every eruption, they prepared for his second coming and thusly rebuilt their village stronger and stronger to prevent the First User’s escape.

Not every Zandoran agreed with the mentality that it was their responsibility to the world. After generations passed, a small group of Zandoran traveled the ocean until they came across the war torn land of Chigiri. Those Zandoran suffered from bloodlust, eager to test their skills in the warring world. Their first real war was against the Kaguya. Their aggressiveness and prowess never lost them a battle against the Zandoran, nor did it win them any. The war was a draw, but the rivalry was burned deep standing until this very day. There was one among them, Koginu, who befriended members of the other clans. They rallied together, seeking to dismantle the fighting and unite but no clan could find it feasible to work with another. Even after Bodaiju sought day in and day out to make this a reality, it was still not enough. After a coalition was created, another threat knocked n their door. The Sanbi sought to wreak havoc across the land. Bodiaju claimed that the ones who claimed Sanbi could place the land under their feet. The families tried and failed to fight the Sanbi and the dreams of the seven families looked like they were about to shatter and no village would ever emulate Konohagakure no Sato. That was, until Zandoran Koginu offered the immense skill of the Zandoran to forge seven swords for the seven clans and forge peace with blood and fear.

One cannot separate the Zandoran from Kirigakure’s unsaid creed. The Bloody Mists achieve purity by the infighting, by the wars and revolutions. That is the means of being a Zandoran.

Koginu worked forty-nine days and nights crafting the seven swords. Koginu forged each weapon with the strongest ores from the Zandoran Isle and each of the seven clans brought special materials to forge into their weapons. The first sword to be made would be wielded by Koginu himself and perhaps be the most legendary of all the swords: The Seversword. After all the blades were forged, the Seven Shinobi Swordsmen of the Mist assembled and engaged Sanbi. During the battle, the Seversword cleaver was broken, but before the Zandoran name could be equated to shoddy workmanship, Koginu used the Sanbi’s chakra to repair the sword and transform it. That day, the Swordsmen of the Mist sealed Sanbi away and formed Kirigakure no Sato.

A long time would pass before the next Zandoran hero to emerge—Zandoran Shishio. Kirigakure no Sato had only gotten bloodier, especially after Kaguya Kahli reigned as Shichidaime Mizukage. Kirigakure no Sato had one of the most powerful military in their time, but the people were suffering. Once news that Otogakure no Sato had a cluster of Kaguya, Khlai sought to no end to destroy them. She was ultimately unsuccessful, but Kolyante Sourji Hachidaime Mizukage carried on the ruthlessness until he was struck down by Zandoran Shishio. Shishio restored the frame of Kirigakure no Sato and strengthened its economy to the highest it was ever in history.  Even more, Shishio gained the respect of many of the clans within Kirigakure for building the strongest warships.  It was rumored that he had an entire armada hidden, ready if his nation needed it and only brought a small fraction out for display.

When Kumogakure no Sato took control of the land, the Zandoran fought back along with every other clan. Mostoin Kirigakure had survived by hiding in their profession: blacksmithing. Their island though suffered heavy losses. Even today, the isle is but an echo of its former glory.  The Zandoran oral histroy tells of "Cloud ninja, dancing through the sky" invading their island, bringing a storm as angry as the volcano itself. After the fall of the Empire, more of the Zandoran traveled to Kirigakure no Saot until it was nearly split evenly between Zandoran Isle and The Village Hidden in the Mist.

To this day, the Zandoran are very much aware of Seversword's non-Zandoran weilder.  Although some would like to see the clan have its hands on it again, most of the clan would rather forge a finer weapon, with which they will ascend to clan head.

Clan Lore;

cAE0EBG.jpg

Ages ago, the was no isle of Mizu no Kuni. The land that was Mizu no Kuni was instead a peninsula with a great deal of coast, and many large mountain plateaus. It was a time of constant war, a time when the art that would later become known as nindo was only at its beginnings. A time that's savage hatred and lack of conscience would shatter a continent, and bring untold destruction.

There was a scroll at that time, a scroll which had origins unknown, but which was immensely powerful. It was a scroll which would unleash devastation upon the continent like none other before, or since. It arose to the knowledge of men everywhere across the continent after the man who would be called the scrolls 'first user' since that time showed himself upon the land, seeing the contant wars and skirmishes that he felt desecrated human life and all that was good, a man who had decided to unleash the power of the scroll on these 'sinners'.

His power was unrivaled, and soon he made a move to stop the constant wars which plagued the lands. A move that deemed him a hero to some, thinking he had been sent as if the powers at be had sent him to quell the fighting and bloodshed that plagued all the lands beneath the sky. A move that ended the war single handedly, but caused more destruction than the power of a thousand sennin together could muster with the same motion. Thought of as a hero by some for the action of stopping the war, but whispered as a menace by others, he stood tall.

His motion had engulfed the entire continent in a storm of untold proportions, and in the end, the peninsula that was once Mizu no Kuni had fell to the grasp of the sea, only the plateaus that had once been upon the peninsula surviving, now as islands, and the largest of which took the name of the former peninsula.

In secret for fear of both the power of the 'first user' and the scorn of the people as well, the daimyos of old met, discussing the situation. In the end, it was decided that the 'first user' must be punished for what some called a 'crime against humanity'. Death could not over take the being, as his life force and that of the scroll's power had been irrefutably intertwined.

There was only one choice for the daimyos of old. The first user would have to be imprisoned, and they saw to it that he was, using all of their power, and a number of items of power they had obtained, to seal the first user within a prison upon an island that was apart of a deserted island chain. With haste they moved, imprisoning him for what they hoped would be eternity. They knew they would have to have someone guard this place, a group of people who could maintain the isle, maintain the prison that held this retched man, and guard it from intrusion or invasion, so that there was no chance of the man being unsealed.

A clan from the land that was most devastated by the storm, Mizu no Kuni, volunteered to keep the man sealed. They felt it was their duty, as otherwise the world would fall apart, of course the true reason was they owned responsibility, as the First User was their patriarch. With no hesitation, they moved to the island which imprisoned the rival, living there for many years in peace, training their coming generations in both body and mind, so that if the day came that the rival did escape, they could seal him back.

Knowing that the seals which were binding the 'first user' 's 'longevity' might be in danger if not attended to, the 'daimyos of old' chose the son of the clan's head to be the 'guardian' of the seal, and performed a long forgotten jutsu, using all of their power combined, to give the child, who was only a toddler at the time, a form of immortality. His aging would be that of ten times slower than it should have been but only as long as he remained on the island.

Clan Bloodline;

Himotohai
// Fire Lung

Description: Many of the clans which exist amongst the people's of Kirigakure no Sato have physiological differences with others, and some have special abilities from these different physical traits. In the case of the Zandoran, their temprokinetic ability to lessen the heat which they are hit with is not the only altered trait. There is another, the Himotohai, or in layman's terms, the 'Fire Lung'. This special organ is referred to as a lung, but it's actually a small organ tied to the lungs and breathing patterns. It it actually at the top of the mouth, and coverts breath, into blasts of fire or highly heated water if the shinobi knows how to use such jutsu, if the shinobi knows how to control this special organ to that point. This is an alteration of the temperature of the breath, and is actually catching fire of the carbon dioxide exhaled by the Zandoran. They are not harmed by it because of their bodies natural strength against high heat, and as such this makes them seem almost as if they were born of fire dragon's. This is the likely reason for the clan's name.
Effects: The user receives the skill 'Subtle Elements; Fire' for free. This replaces their free village skill.
When making an attack with the [Fire] tag, or when activating the bonus of Subtle Elements: Fire (up to a tier-three combinatorial), the user will increase their Ninjutsu by 4x, whereas x is the user's level. The user may opt to increase their Genjutsu by 4x instead if they are making an attack with the Elemental Archetype with a [Fire] tag. X may not exceed 1.5x of the chosen stat.
Upkeep: When in use, this organ takes up 2% of the user's total chakra per turn.  Activated in Set-Up Phase. May be activated independently or codependently of Kazenshin.
Restriction: Must be taken at character creation, though it can be considered 'locked' until the user wishes to buy it with SP. This is an advanced system. May only be activated with Kazenshin.
Cost: -4

Kazanshin
// Heart of the Volcano

Description: Before the time they were sent as guardians of the 'first user' of the 'scroll', the Zandoran were a clan of blacksmiths that lived in Mizu no Kuni, a clan that quickly learned that the best way to make weapons was to know exactly how to use them, and who picked up nindo as a result. They lived on an a highly active volcanic island which was off the coast of Mizu no Kuni as it was at the time, and because of their blacksmithing and the fact they had to deal with the heat from being near magma streams if the volcano flowed (Which it did, and often did, at that.) They slowly began to gain a tolerance to heat. As a Zandoran matures, their blood exhibits a unique compound, much like solidified magma that clumps upon their skin in the reaction to active tenketsu. At first it seemed like an unfortunate defect, but with more study it was observed that this ore would regenerate even if destroyed, as long as their chakra flowed.

Requirements: Himotohai
Rank 1 - Passive Effect: User takes 50% less 'Burning' damage from all sources from their rank or lower and halve terrain effects involving heat, such as Lavaflow and Boiling Mud/Tar created by techniques of their rank or lower.
Rank 2 - Activated Effect: When this bloodline skill is activated, the user will gain a shield with x health. X is equal to amount of chakra paid in upkeep of this bloodline this turn. For every turn this remains active, the user will gain an additional x health to their shield. The value of the shield can never exceed more than 15% of the user's total chakra.  Shield regeneration occurs when chakra/stamina regeneration does.
Rank 3 - Activated Effect: When this bloodline skill is activated, the user will gain a shield with 2x health.

Upkeep: When in use, this organ takes up 3% of the user's total chakra per turn.  activated in the Set-Up Phase.  May be activated independently or codependently of Himotohai.

Restriction: Advanced regeneration skills may not be activated while this is active. This is an advanced system. May only be active with Himotohai.

Cost: -2 per rank
