Country Of Origin:

Unknown

Village Of Residence:

Wandering

Clan Progenitor:

•  Enma-Ō; As the Oni of the Taketori are not particularly scholarly, any legends of  Enma-Ō are just that-- legends. He was rumored to be a Warrior-King from another planet, come to conquer the lands in his own name. Taketori mythology states that he was meant to conquer the land for another ruler, but rebelled against him and slew many otherworldly warriors before having his ability to travel between worlds stolen.

Clan Head:

• Ibaraki; An unusually small example of a male Oni, Ibaraki is curiously the most fiercesome warrior that the Taketori have produced in many centuries. He rules the clan through a combination of might and guile, but only calls them together when an undertaking of great glory is at hand.

Clan Status:

• Unknown; The Taketori are unknown save to the most educated of mythologists. They have become creatures of legend, stories used to frighten children into behaving. They are well known among the elders of the Ōtsutsuki clan, as they have repeatedly clashed throughout the ages. Most other Summoning Families have heard of the Taketori in some capacity or another, though their existence on the material plane makes them somewhat enigmatic even among other summons.

Clan Age:

• Prehistoric; The exact age of the Taketori is unknown. They are presumed to have existed as long as the idea of an "Oni" has been around.

JJUN1i3.png?1 Clan History:

The history of the Taketori is long and mostly unknown. As a scattered, war-like, and ultimately simple-minded species, the Taketori have hardly bothered to keep track of their own history. What bits of information is retained is done so through oral tradition, in the form of legends and epic poems. Of those stories told, they include the tale of King Enma and his retreat from otherworldly warriors who sought to punish him for a grave betrayal. The legend indicates that he came to this world to conquer it for another, but saw its beauty and the war-like nature of its human inhabitants and instead opted to take the world for himself. He rallied many then-chakra-less humans under his banner and did war with the otherworldly warriors who aimed to punish him. Though the war was long and brutal, Enma was ultimately able to defend the stronghold that he had built for himself in what would become Oni no Kuni, named for his very same stronghold. Though he was ultimately victorious, the legend states that the otherworldly warriors robbed him of his ability to return home, cursing him to live out his days among the "simple" humans that he seemed to so love. The progenitor of the Oni found no fault in this "compromise" and went on to encourage and reward the warring nature among humans. Enma lived for a considerable amount of time as a War-God, aiding whatever factions he found to have the greatest lust for battle; among these many years, he sired many children who would become revered as demi-gods and referred to then as "Onitake-sha"-- Daredevil Warriors. For many generations, the Oni prospered and continued to drive humanity into a battle-frenzy; the world was their bloody garden by which they could glut themselves on the clan-driven warfare that dominated human society.

The next legend of King Enma featured his apparent demise. After an unspecified number of years, another immensely powerful creature visited the planet with the intent of turning it into her personal garden. When she arrived, she found the warring nature of the humans reprehensible and single-handedly put an end to many of the ongoing conflicts at the time. This otherworldly "Rabbit Goddess" naturally came to be a great adversary for Enma and his Oni clan. Though their war was hard fought, the Taketori Oni found themselves losing the war for their continued existence. In spite of their gradual instinction, Enma gathered a large host of Oni and remaining loyal humans to bring an assault upon the "Rabbit Goddess's" capital itself. The resulting battle was bloody and glorious, though it ultimately resulted in the disappearance of King Enma and the eradication of the majority of remaining Oni. Stories on Enma's disappearance vary from Taketori family to family, with some accounts saying that he was run through and dissolved to dust, while others indicate that he was forced through some portal of considerable magic and never again allowed to return to the pale goddess's garden world. No matter the accounting of Enma's disappearance, this legend unanimously ends in the same way: the remaining Oni retreated to the mountains and faded into history as little more than monsters.

Since their alleged disappearance, the Taketori have appeared in history primarily as humanity's mountainous tormentors. They descended upon remote villages to consume their children and steal their women away to continue their otherworldly lineage. Over time, with the fall of the Ōtsutsuki, the Taketori began to slowly emerge again into the human world as more than monsters. Rare individuals wandered from battle to battle, pledging their strength to whatever side they found most filled with a desire for battle. In rarer yet cases, Oni would sign themselves into the servitude of great heroes or conquerors in exchange for many things, though most commonly the possession of the aforementioned warrior's first born son or daughter. These human children were taken to hidden Oni villages and were treated well-- as well as another Oni might have been, given that they were used as a valued breeding stock. It was believed that, despite the dominance of their genetics, the children of valiant humans would lead to increasingly powerful humans.

JJUN1i3.png?1 Cultural Information:

Clan Traits:

A Taketori is always easily identified by their demon-like physiological traits. A sweeping majority of Oni possess one or more horns atop their head, and have sharp, pointed ears. Oni men are typically large and rather monstrous in their appearance, making them rather formidable looking when placed beside a standard human. Oni women are rather variable in their general size and monstrosity, though it is not uncommon for them to be just as large and imposing as their male counterparts. Taketori Oni most commonly come in one of three skin colors, with various shades of each color being found: Blue, Red, or White. Most white-skinned Oni are less monstrous than their red and blue-skinned counterparts and commonly have more human skin tones, though they still typically rather pale when compared to an average human. An Oni's coloration is determined first by their genetic ability and second by the volume and rate at which an Oni absorbs nearby natural energy. White Oni are typically the most balanced, absorbing medium quantities at a moderated rate; Red Oni absorb high volumes at a high rate, and Blue Oni absorb low volumes at a low rate. It is for this reason that Red Oni are prone to anger and violent outbursts, while Blue Oni are much slower paced and prefer to give their actions great consideration before carrying them out. Red Oni are often the largest and most monstrous of the Taketori, though Blue Oni are still considerably larger than their White counterparts. As a whole, the Taketori are not particularly intelligent creatures. They often resolve differences with force and would rather kick a door down than attempt to pick a lock. Blue Oni are a rare exception to this, as they find puzzles interesting and sometimes even fun; however, if frustrated, they will quickly revert to a violent manner and break whatever device had caused their initial conundrum. As a general rule, Oni look down on Humans and sometimes even consider them to be a source of sustenance; humans who enter into combat with an Oni with the intent of entering into a contract with the Oni and fail to provide even sufficient entertainment are typically eaten without hesitation.

Clan Names:

The Taketori possess a unique naming system wherein a fully mature Oni may possess up to three individual names. Each Oni is given a name at birth to serve as their familial name, this is a name given only to other Oni and to humans who form a contract with an Oni; they keep this name fairly secretive and will call each other by any of their other two given names if a foreigner is present, even if that individual is bound by contract to one of the present Oni. An Oni's familial name typically is given to them by their human parent, or is made of a combination of the parent's own names in the case of a rare pure-birth. The second name that an Oni is given is their "Oni" name-- that is, a name given to them by human victims that helps to build up their individual legends. This "Oni" name may be assigned by the families of an Oni's victims or by the Oni themselves, but it serves as a way for them to be known to the world. The second name typically is some manner of description of themselves, their personality, or their fighting style followed by "-Oni"(Examples: Ao-Oni, Aka-Oni, Sezae-Oni.) The third and final name that an Oni may have is their Contracted Name. This name is selected by a Contractor at the time of a contract and is what their Contractor refers to them by any time that they are summoned; most human Contractors will simply call an Oni by their "Oni" name, as a contract forbids them from calling them by their familial name except in privacy. However, some humans may feel a particularly strong bond with their contracted Oni and opt to give them a new name entirely, such as to define them as a valued ally rather than a summoned monster. An Oni will introduce him or herself by their Contracted name when confronted with an opponent who acknowledges the Oni by speaking their own first name; additionally, many Oni grow attached to their Contracted Name and will allow other friends or friends of their Contractor to refer to them by this name.

Clan Leadership:

In each Taketori village, there exists a chain of command that is followed by all sensible Oni. First, the will of a Clan Head supercedes any other individual within the clan. Second, each village has a local Warlord that serves primarily as the leader of individual war-bands. Lastly are the Matriarchs-- any woman, human or Oni, who has given birth to Oni within the village. The Matriarchs often determine village governance as a council and are strictly obeyed unless the Clan Head or a Warlord gives a command that directly contradicts a Matriarch's ruling. Warlords are bound by the rules instated by clan Matriarchs as any other Oni, except in the instances wherein a Matriarch's ruling is found to betray the core of Taketori culture or allows a Matriarch to break one of the few rules established for their positions. Matriarchs are not allowed to leave a village unless the entirety of the village is migrating, or the village has been overrun by an enemy faction. Only the Clan Head is allowed to act with complete discretion within the clan villages.

The current clan head in any generation may rally the Oni collectively into battle up to three times in their life time; they do so by summoning the warriors of the clan en-mass with a secret technique passed down through the Taketori clan heads. After each such summoning, the battling Oni will assess whether or not their clan head had wasted their time with the collective summoning. Should their efforts be decided via a majority to have been wasted two times in a row, the clan head will be removed from power and violently consumed by the collective of the clan. If they should have wasted the collective's strength only a single time, they will be allowed to peacefully step down from leadership after their third summoning. Should a Taketori clan head summon their clan to three consecutive "worthy" battles, their leadership will be renewed and they will be allowed an additional three summonings.

A Taketori clan head may be challenged for leadership at any point, and should they fail to defeat their challenger, they will be slain and removed from leadership. The only exception to this is that a leader may not be challenged during a pre-existing single combat, during a clan summoning, or for a two month period following a pyrrhic victory. Though this a violent method of determining leadership, the clan head of the Taketori is given the unique ability to determine the clan's breeding priority. They are able to determine whether or not an Oni is allowed to procreate with the fruit of other Oni's contracts and may even declare themselves the sole progenitor of a given generation should they find all other Oni in that generation unsatisfactory for breeding purposes.

Clan Objectives:

As a clan, the Taketori have no unified objective. Only rarely will they come together to work as a cohesive unit against a singular enemy, and that enemy must have previously proven themselves to be a powerful opponent worthy of their combined might. Most Oni are exceptionally long lived and do not possess any notion of an afterlife, consequently resulting in a particularly carnal lifestyle. When not attempting to fight or kill, it is not uncommon to see an Oni too drunk to properly function or bloated by the consumption of an inhuman amount of food. Following the conclusion of a particularly hard or glorious battle, Oni are known to have a voracious sexual appetite.

Individually, an Oni is not considered to have become an Adult until they have signed their first contract with a human. Even if they do not particularly like the human that they are bound to, most Oni will willingly follow the direction of a contracted human in order to obtain greater glory. It is the singular objective of any Taketori to become contracted if they are not currently bound by one, given that contracts are the fastest and most effective way to both bring fresh blood into their villages as well as to achieve victory on the battlefield.

Clan Sexuality:

The Oni are baser creatures and tend to conduct themselves in crude and violent ways compared to their human counterparts. Despite this, they have a strong aversion to forcing other Oni or even Humans into unwanted sexual contact. As a culture, they believe that the offspring of unwilling pairings will bring considerable misfortune to the family that they are born into and are thus unwanted. Children of such unions are typically slain well before maturity, so as to avoid cursing their families or growing old enough to bear a grudge against the Taketori as a whole. In the case of breeding stock acquired from Contracted Humans, the humans children are revered but are kept isolated and brought up to accept their role as the mothers and rarely fathers of Oni.

Oni do not hold much regard for sexual classifications, and are often considered pansexual by the few scholars that are familiar with them-- though it is more accurate to describe them as indiscriminate lovers. They find shows of disdain toward particular sexual attractions curious and will often come to the defense of an individual being thus discriminated against-- though this is typically more because it's more challenging and entertaining to fight a group of bullies than it is to join a crowd against a likely already morally defeated opponent.

Male Oni are incredibly virile and will usually prefer male partners when engaging in recreational sexual activity simply to avoid unwanted children. Female Oni are a stark contrast to this and are most commonly sterile, even when interbreeding with other humans; it is for this reason that "pure-bred" Taketori are exceedingly rare and are thus so treasured. If a Female Oni is found to be capable of bearing children, she will typically retreat from the world and rejoin a clan village so as to make appropriate use of her rare gift.

Clan Estates:

The Taketori do not have any well known or dedicated clan estate. Their familial villages are few and far between, and are often kept secret even from other Oni. Most commonly, an Oni will only ever be aware of the location of the Taketori village in which they were born. These villages are typically found deep within inhospital mountains or swamps and are often difficult to find when viewing from above, as most structures are built underground or made to imitate the surrounding environment.

Clan Relations:

24px-%C5%8Ctsutsuki_Symbol.svg.png Ōtsutsuki Clan | Sworn Enemies

The Taketori consider the Ōtsutsuki clan to be their sworn enemies. The Ōtsutsuki are blamed for the disappearance of their God-King Enma and are all considered to be the antithesis of everything the Oni represent and cherish. Members of the Ōtsutsuki clan are often considered attack-on-sight by the Taketori. Any Oni that enters into a contract with a member of the Ōtsutsuki clan is immediately considered a blood-traitor and is relentlessly hunted by the combined might of the Taketori Clan.

JJUN1i3.png?1 Kekkei Genkai:

dXZNvp1.png

Ushitorafuku | 丑寅福 | Ox Tiger Blessing

Description: The Ushitorafuku is more of a state of being than a kekkei genkai; they are outsiders stranded upon the shinobi plane by circumstances long since forgotten. Bearers of the Ushitorafuku have traditionally been reviled and treated with a great deal of fear, referred to as “Oni” and “monsters” throughout history. Though they are exceedingly rare in the modern era, it is not difficult to identify those descended of the Ushitorafuku. Its inheritors possess a variable number of flesh-hued horns atop their head, large nails, and tiger-esque teeth. Men who possess the Ushitorafuku are often incredibly large, towering over average humans as if they were but children; women inheritors are dissimilarly variable, with some being no larger than a human, and others reaching sizes comperable to their male counterparts. Though it is more common among blessed males, Ushitorafuku bearers occasionally are seen with bright red or deep blue skin. While those that are born into the Ushitorafuku lineage are mortal, they have more in common with the primordial Summons than they do average men and women. They do not possess normal “human” chakra circulation and what chakra they do use is blended from their physical energy and what Natural Energy they absorb from a given habitat. Like their counterparts in the Summoning families, Ushitorafuku inheritors may sign contracts with humans to lend them power in exchange for various conditions. As the Oni typically loathe humans, these such contracts are often very temporary and will result in a grave cost on behalf of the human in question- occasionally including money, land, children, or even their own lives. The most common result of a failed contract is the acquisition of a human’s eldest daughter; this acquisition is less out of malign intent and more the desire to propagate the Oni species. Oni females are very frequently sterile, but the physiological similarities between the Oni and Humans allow for cross-breeding to occur; indeed, most living Oni are descended from unisons between Oni and Human. In the case of a child being born of an Oni and a Human, the Ushitorafuku overwhelms any other “human” genetic dispositions.

Effect: Characters with this skill are treated as if they were “Summons” for any effects, requirements, or modifiers, but are still considered standard characters for the purposes of character progression and relevant combat rulings; this character’s “Summon Level” is equal to their current Ninja Rank(Genin = 1, Chunin = 2, etc.) A character with this skill may choose to enter into a “Contract” with any character who has defeated them in single combat. Characters thus “contracted” may purchase the “Devil’s Deal: <Contracted Oni’s Name>” skill; the Contract may be willingly terminated by either party at any point, ending any effects granted by Contract-related skills immediately. If a Contract is terminated, an Oni may not enter into a new contract until at least three real-life months have passed. An Oni may only be contracted to a single human at a time. Effects that would “un-summon” this character apply only in Team Battles wherein this character was summoned via a technique possessed by their Contractor. This character may not Summon other creatures in a battle in which they themselves have been summoned.

Requirements: Must be taken at Character Creation; this skill is mandatory.

Cost: -1

Ox Tiger Spirit

Description: As an Outsider to the normal world, the Oni do not have a chakra circulatory system that resembles that of humans. Instead, their inner workings are more akin to those of the Summoning families. Oni constantly drink in the Natural Energy from the world around them and blend that with their own physical energies to create what chakra they do use. As this does not involve the actual blend of normal chakra, their “unique” chakra is referred to simply as Natural Energy rather than Senjutsu Chakra. Because they are incapable of creating normal chakra, they are incapable of utilizing Sage Mode or its lesser varients.

Effect: This character replaces their “Chakra” statistic with a stat identified as Natural Energy. Natural Energy may have points invested into it as any other stat. A character’s Natural Energy statistic is treated as 0 at the beginning of battle and regenerates at a rate of 5% of its total per turn; if this character is bound by a “contract” per the <Oni Summons> skill, this character instead regenerates Natural Energy at a rate of 7.5% of its total per turn. While participating in a combat in which this character was Summoned, they instead regenerate Natural Energy at a rate of 10% of its total per turn. If this character’s Contractor is unable to regenerate chakra during a turn, halve the amount of Natural Energy that this character regenerates on their next turn. Natural Energy may be spent on any action with a Chakra cost, and may be affected by any other effect that applies to Chakra. This character suffers no negative effects when their Natural Energy statistic is 0. This character may never possess any effect that grants additional Natural Energy aside from those found in the Ushitorafuku bloodline and its associated skills.

Requirements: Must be taken at Character Creation.

Cost: -2

Borrowed Power

Description: After forming a contract with a human, an Oni has a unique link with the bound mortal. Using the potent connection that joins them, an Oni may lend a portion of their own power to their Contractor, allowing them to greatly enhance the potency of their abilities. As this energy is granted by the unique spacial qualities of the Devils Deal contract, the summoner is able to utilize the Oni’s Natural Energy without the usual risks of using such power untrained.

Effect: During the Setup Phase, as a Free Action, this character may sacrifice any Natural Energy that they regenerated during that turn to instead grant their Contractor an equal amount of Natural Energy. This Natural Energy fades at the end of the target character’s turn, but may be used in place of Chakra for any purpose. Techniques using Natural Energy granted by this skill increase their base damage by 10%; this may stack with any other effects and exceeds damage caps, but may not cause a technique’s base damage to exceed 140% of its normal Base Damage.

Requirements: Ox Tiger Spirit

Cost: -2

War Sage

Description: Though the ideologies of the Sage and the Oni often stand starkly contrasted, they are the mightiest of allies upon the battlefield. Those contractors who possess the unique ability to enhance their actions with Natural Energy through Sage Mode may rather abruptly find themselves empowered when fighting alongside a contracted and summoned Oni. When the Oni’s summoner is drawing upon the surrounding Natural Energy, the Oni’s own inherent reserves will begin to leech across their connection and grant the Sage combatant enhanced longevity. Though the ideologies of the Sage and the Oni often stand starkly contrasted, they are the mightiest of allies upon the battlefield.

Effect: Whenever this character participates in a combat wherein they were summoned by their Contractor and their Contractor activates the Sage Mode advanced system, increase the duration of the Contractor’s Sage Mode advanced system for one turn per Ninja Rank of this character, minus one (1). If the character possessing this skill would leave combat for any reason during a turn in which Sage Mode had been extended via this skill, Sage Mode's effects are ended at the beginning of its user's next turn.

Requirements: Borrowed Power

Cost: -4

Oni Physiology: Endurance

Description: Oni possess incredibly efficient physiologies. Not only are they able to perform under stress at exceptional levels, but the natural and constant augmentation of Natural Energy enables them to keep fighting where other combatants would have fallen. Not only are they capable of incredible feats of endurance, but they are also known for an incredible intestinal fortitude and may consume many substances that would be otherwise inedible to humans(stone, trees, metal, etc.) It is not uncommon to meet an Oni who carries a large drum of Sake with them and challenges passing humans to tests of alcoholic fortitude.

Effect: Characters with this skill permanently gain 100 Stamina and 100 Natural Energy per rank in this skill.

Requirements: Ushitorafuku

Ranks: 5

Cost: -2

Oni Physiology: Durability

Description: The strange physiology of Oni allows them to sustain far more physical punishment than their human counterparts. Their skin, musculature, and skeleton are all incredibly dense and resilient, making them very difficult to damage in a meaningful way. However, the density in their flesh is caused by many stacking layers of cells that weave together into small but complex forms, making them difficult to effectively treat when injury does occur.

Effect: Whenever this character’s Defense statistic is used to reduce damage, increase that modifier by 1 per rank in this skill. Healing effects benefiting this character have their total healing reduced by 10% per rank per rank in this skill. This applies only to a character's Defense statistic before items are applied; any Defense granted through items calculates its modifiers normally.

RequirementsUshitorafuku

Ranks: 2

Cost: -1

Oni Physiology: Strength

Description: Above all other attributes, Folklore holds one feature of the Oni in an unparalleled regard: Their Herculean strength. Not only does the Oni’s incredible muscle density and composition allow for awe-inspiring strength, but it compounds almost exponentially with the constant influx of Natural Energy coursing through their body. The Oni are often able to lift boulders without even a moment of preparation. It is rumored that the strongest of the Oni have been able to quite literally move mountains, when they set their mind to it. Unfortunately, such strength comes with a predisposition toward a simple or single-mindedness. Oni are easily angered and tend to struggle when presented with illusory challenges.

Effect: Whenever this character’s Taijutsu statistic is used to modify an action, increase that modifier by 1 per rank in this skill. When rolling to dodge Genjutsu, if this character's dodge roll falls between 1-20(Rank 1) or 1-40(Rank 2), extend the duration of that Genjutsu's effects by one turn; this does not allow any effects to exceed their duration caps.

RequirementsUshitorafuku

Ranks: 2

Cost: -1

JJUN1i3.png?1 Clan Rules:

Clan Positions:

• The Taketori has a maximum of three available positions at any time.

• Upon reaching a total of three active characters, the clan will be locked and new character applications will not be accepted.

Clan Character Rules:

• A Taketori character may be created in any starting location, though their history will be strictly monitored.

• Any Taketori that begins play in a shinobi village(as a member of that village) is denied access to any clan techniques and most clan skills; Oni that begin play as a shinobi belonging to a shinobi village will be considered a "Missing-nin" by the clan as a whole and will be greeted with hostility by any other Oni until they have sufficiently proven themselves.

• If a Taketori from a shinobi village interacts with the Clan Head or any Warlord before proving themselves trustworthy, they will be attacked with an intent to kill.

• Taketori that join a shinobi village after entering into a contract with a member of that village are not considered enemies of the clan, though they will be expected to join that clan's side should the clan go to war with the respective shinobi village.

• An important note is that the Clan Head possesses the unique ability to perform a technique that will summon all battle-ready Oni to his or her location. If a character has committed a grave enough crime against the Taketori, they will be summoned with this technique and punished accordingly.

Clan Skill & Technique Rules:

• Clan Skills and Techniques may be taught to a character who is contracted to an Oni, but only by that Oni. Teaching skills to an uncontracted human is considered a crime and that Oni will be considered a traitor by the rest of the clan.

Clan Transfusion Rules:

• Bloodline Transfusions will never be willingly permitted by the Clan. Any willing transfusion is considered a crime of the highest order, and upon discovery, will surely result in the death of a transgressing character.

Errors/Issues:

  •  I'm not really sure I like the idea of additional interdimensional, alien races. It's kind of the Otsutsuki's claim to fame, but it's also a weird precedent to hand out to non-canon clans. Before they Otsutsuki existed we definitely would not have allowed space-faring alien clans.
  •  Who are the interdimensional warriors that these dude's fought that stole their ability to dimensionally travel? If you're referring to the Otsutsuki that would be incorrect. Kaguya was the first to come to Earth. If you're referring to some other group, see the above statement.
  •  Enma-O is a concept that is already been stretched thin across the Naruto-verse, given that its the name of the king of the monkey summons, and the Rinnegan's 'King of Hell' thing is a representation of most of the mythological Enma-O's powers and legends. Not saying you can't, just saying that Kishi was up in there already.
  •  On the topic of the God Tree, they are not planted by the Otsutsuki. God Tree's are naturally ocurring on some planets, nourished by the blood of countless wars. After a thousand years, they will generate a single chakra fruit. The original Otsutsuki travel between dimensions harvesting these fruit from already existing seed-beds to give them great power and extend their lifespans.
  •  The concept of summoning doesn't predate the formation of chakra. It makes little sense for them to be related to summons before summons existed.

Alright, I'll address the concerns in order.

  1.  I can understand hesitance to accept something like that- it's a bit of a weird precedent, and the Otsutsuki really took Naruto to a strange place by incorporating other planets/dimensions. However, before the Otsutsuki were introduced and before the final arc even began, NA canon had Summons already existing in different dimensions or on different "planes". As far as I am aware, the forum canon is still that they exist in primarily in locations that do not exist on this world. This may not be Naruto canon, but it is still NA canon for better or worse. It was this theme that I was playing on.
  2. I left it a bit purposefully vague so that if it didn't fit with other players headcanons, they could go "yeah... that happened a long time ago, you guys probably don't remember"-- because as I mentioned in the history, the stories are all like Beowulf status oral legend. I'm strong implying that it was the Otsutsuki because that would make the most sense given the information that we have now. Kaguya was the first to come when a Chakra Fruit was ripe/near ripening, and that is why I placed the arrival of Enma before the tree was close to preparing ripened fruit. I would say that, if anything, the Oni/Enma were originally servants of the Otsutsuki if not lesser Otsutsuki themselves used to hasten the war-like nature of Shinju seedbeds. When Enma decided "nah, this place is mine", that would be when he warranted the ire of the presumed Otsutsuki that sent him and was subsequently punished. By removing his ability to travel between dimensions, he would then be left to simply muck about in human's wars and continue to feed the Shinju anyways. This would be where Kaguya came in and ate the fruit and then, according to the Oni lore, slew and/or banished Enma. In the NA canon, it could very well have been Enma that tipped Kaguya off that more Otsutsuki would be following her to bleed the shinju dry, essentially. This relation is here partially because of the mythological connection between Oni and Momotaro, Momoshiki's namesake.
  3. I'm aware of the prominence of the mythological Enma in Naruto canon. I thought about taking a different route to avoid the confusion, but instead opted to maybe run with the idea that the Oni hate the Monkey summons because they believe that Enma stole "their king's name".
  4. I don't think I directly mentioned the Shinju in the history itself? I'm not sure if this is just like a piece of relevant information or not, but I was aware of the Shinju's canon status when I wrote this-- see response number 2 and the whole reason that Enma was sent to our world to begin with for this one.
  5. Kaguya wasn't explicitly stated to have been the first to consume the fruit of the Shinju and gain chakra, so I'd argue that chakra had probably existed for a long time before she even arrived. As for the summons, I'll redirect to point number 1 with the pre-established existence of other dimensions/planes in NA canon. Enma, like other summons, could very well have just been a resident of another plane alongside other summons(The Toads existed at the same time as Hagoromo, for reference) and his people were used as summons by denizens elsewhere. There's nothing that necessarily states that other chakra-wielding individuals on other seed-beds might not have established something akin to ninjutsu and summoning.

All in all, these are some good points to bring up, and I'm glad I get a chance to discuss them in full. Ultimately, I tried to leave it as vague as possible so as to not explicitly infringe on other people's headcanons for NA lore and to give it a reasonable cause for being ICly refuted if someone made a claim of "yeah well, the oni were the personal summons of the otsutsuki before kaguya" or something like that.

1. If you were to use the forum's summon canon for these characters in regards to summons, they would have all sorts of unfortunate caveats attached to their interdimensional travel, such as being tied to a different plane and disappearing when their health is depleted. Regardless of that though, before the appearance of the Otsutsuki, NA still would not likely have allowed a clan that hails from another dimension.

2. If the case is that these Oni-people are the servants of the original Otsutsuki, then I'm actually more against this lore that you've set up for them. It's made evident in Boruto; The Movie that there is already a servant caste built into the Otsutsuki clan hierarchy, and these servants are already appear to be massive, hulking, horned brutes who utilize their great strength and an abnormal energy when fighting, as we see with Kinshiki who states that his purpose in life was to strengthen Momoshiki (which is pretty typical servanty/slave shit). More so, the story of the interdimensional Otsutsuki is likely going to continue to unfold, and attaching a non-canon clan to them without pertinent information will create more incongruous continuity problems (like NA's Summon canon) when more information is revealed.

3. That's fine, I was just pointing out that it pops up all over the place.

4. I must have misunderstood this quote then; "After an unspecified number of years, another immensely powerful creature visited the planet with the intent of turning it into her personal garden." And assumed you meant she planted the tree herself.

I would vastly prefer you extricate the clan's lore from anything that might have to do with the ancient Otsutsuki, mostly because of reason 2. Linking them won't in the end make them anymore IC pertinent to other shinobi because characters on NA don't know history.

If you'd really like to incorporate Otsutsuki and interdimensional travel together, perhaps we could compromise and say that the Oni were people who were quick to rebel against Hagoromo's Ninshu teachings and chose to revel in their warlike nature. Eventually they chose to use their possession of chakra to travel to the... summoning plane, where they waged war there for the sake of violence and the abundance of natural energy metamorphosed them into more animal like and larger than average creatures.

This would give them a stronger bond with summoning and summons, which it looks like you changed your mind on after writing the bloodline and ran with a new idea. They would still be able to have dislikes for Otsutsuki (because of Hagoromo) and for Ninshu (because of Hagoromo) and for monkeys (because they could fight Enma's people on his own turf.) but they would no longer have the possibility of damaging future canon developments.
