Stone of Gelel

Effect: The Stone of Gelel possesses two effects:

Internal: A character with the Stone of Gelel implanted within them gains an additional stat known as ‘Gelel Energy’. This stat has a value equal to 8x, wherein ‘x’ is equal to its owner’s level. ‘Gelel Energy’ may be spent as a resource similar to Chakra or Stamina but only by techniques or effects that specifically require it. ‘Gelel Energy’ does not replenish naturally even outside of battle. Implanting a Stone of Gelel follows Organ-based Bloodline Transfusion rules but does not replace any bloodline present in its owners. An implanted Stone of Gelel may be targeted by effects that would normally target a Bloodline, but may not be destroyed until it has been removed from its owner’s body- either through the effects of a technique or by standard Bloodline Theft rules. If an Implanted Stone of Gelel is stolen and then implanted in a different character, the ‘Gelel Energy’ granted by this item does not replenish and is reduced to accommodate a character of lower level; a character’s current ‘Gelel Energy’ statistic may never exceed their total ‘Gelel Energy’ statistic. While implanted, the Stone of Gelel replenishes its owner’s health by 5% of its current ‘Gelel Energy’ statistic every other turn; a character with the Stone of Gelel implanted within them becomes immune to the statistical effects of aging, though any such effects are not reverted.

External: When not implanted, the Stone of Gelel may be used in the Setup Phase as a standard action. Using the Stone of Gelel in this way destroys it and replenishes an amount of Health, Stamina, and ‘Gelel Energy’(If the user possesses an implanted Stone of Gelel) to its user equal to 3x, wherein ‘x’ is equal to their level.

Description: First discovered on a faraway continent as a vein of ore, the Stone of Gelel has become synonymous with life energy in the few legends that reference it. It was believed that the last available deposit of Gelel had been destroyed a hundred years ago, though there exist rumors that there remain a few small deposits throughout its homeland- those rumors remain unsubstantiated as the Stone has not been seen outside of its refined form since the alleged destruction of the last vein. Stories indicate that only a specific lineage possessed the physiology capable of withstanding the Stone of Gelel’s unrefined power long enough to forge it into a usable form, and it is thus believed to be impossible to forge anew even if a fresh vein were to be found. As an Ore, Gelel is incredibly volatile and is purported to have destructive power enough to destroy an entire continent; a legend that lead to the sealing of most ancient Gelel veins. In the current age, a few of the refined Stones have surfaced in the world, though they are believed to be little more than particularly beautiful gemstones. Most owners are unaware that the Stones may be broken to replenish themselves, or that they may be implanted within humans as a flexible source of power. Though the power granted by a Stone of Gelel is comparable to chakra, scholars who have studied the stone have found that Gelel and Chakra are not interchangeable in any capacity; similarly, a Stone of Gelel appears to be little more than a natural gemstone even when scrutinized eyes with the ability to perceive chakra. When the energy produced by a Stone of Gelel is witnessed by such dojutsu, it appears to be every bit as physical as the creature wielding it. When implanted within a living creature, the Stone of Gelel is also known to gradually restore their health- even healing wounds slowly over time. It is rumored that a man or animal possessing the Stone of Gelel within them may live far longer than average.

Cost: 4500 両 or Quest of 11,250 words that has a 75% chance to succeed, Quest may be repeated one additional time for 5625 words; Failure grants Experience as if it were a Solo Training session. This Quest may be repeated again, though its word totals are reset to their base. Alternatively, a character may begin play with a Stone of Gelel implanted within them in place of a clan with permission from the creator.

Designer's Notes

Price is a little out of the hat. I loosely based it on 4x the total stat value granted when implanted + the costs of a Blood Increasing Pill and a Soldier Pill. The additional cost is smaller than just rolling the two together, but that's because if you consume this... you're just out 4500 ryo- it's better to implant it, for the most part.

Gelel Energy: This is kind of like the bonus chakra granted by the Tenseigan, except it can not be used interchangably with Chakra without help from skills that have yet to be made! In this base form, the Stone of Gelel will only ever be able to be used in techniques that require Gelel Energy... and you can't use it without its accompanying skills, but the tl;dr of those for consideration is that Gelel Techniques are going to be basically seal-less Ninjutsu.

I like this idea a lot, but there aren't any techniques or anything for this new tank to be spent on, so a full-on review or an approval isn't going to happen unless Peter comes back and revisits this. Until then, I'm moving it to dead, like I mentioned in the PM I sent last week.
