~"You plant a seed to watch it die..."~

~"If you were offered a seed of happiness by an Angel that lived in Hell.... What would you do?" ~

~"We look the same, but men call us monsters. If we shadows, which lurk between eras, are destined to die, then I shall fall with the cherry blossoms, then I too shall fall with the cherry blossoms." ~

~"Take a moment and ponder this: Would you rather be a Gardener on a Battlefield or a General within a Garden? Either is truly redundant, death ultimately awaiting them both, Gardener and General spend their lives beating their own paths to the grave. One creates beauty, the other leaves nothing but empty promises. I pity the gardener... Because he will never understand the artistic scene found within a brutalized corpse; I pity the General because he will never know the peace of an empty mind..."

"To be alone is to be in great company, it is only when you add other human beings do things turn foul... I rather feel alone than to experience a moment of betrayal. I rather feel this abandonment than to experience 'Love' just to have it ripped away. I rather had never met you at all, then know that you will one day die... and it may possibly be by my hand." ~

~"Pain is not a bad thing, that is a LIE crafted by those that wish for you to live in a SAFE world. A LIE created by your brain, to warn you of impending danger. A LIE told by the beast itself... Fear. This. World. Is. Not. Safe. Without pain, you would not know pleasure. Without agony, you would not know pleasure. To think one comes without the other is naive and should be abhorred. Rejoice and be merry, for I am a messenger that crawled his way from the below to spread the message of Lord Jashim. Be happy and drink from my tribute, and round your bellies on the fruits of my knowledge, for I fill you with Pain."~

Clothing: In his normal casual attire, Gomi can be found in either black modernized shinobi attire made to be both comfortable and form fitting, yet easy to move or defend in; or black/deep red religious attires or outfits that proclaim his Jashinic beliefs.

In mission attire, Gomi can normally be found in standard Kirigakure shinobi attire, dyed black to fit his personal preference.

2081530208_personalinformation.png.a8840560508019b2bcdc35c7656813a6.png

Ideals: As a “Disciple of the Darkened Path”, Gomi believes in the betterment of mankind, through the bloodletting of the injustice and morally weak. Unlike the traditional Jashinist who believed in little more than sacrificing to their Dark Lord, those of the “Black Brotherhood” believe that to sacrifice one full of Sin is the truest gift they could bestow upon their lord. Due to the self-righteous way of thinking, Gomi feels the need to defend any and all he deems physically “weak” so long as they are within the correct moral standings.

As a “Child of the Deep”, Gomi has a distrust of most land-faring animals, vehicles, or people. Having grown up within “The Deep”, Gomi has created more of a bond with nature than his fellow man, and because of this he shows a certain distaste to those creating pollution within the sea-life, mainly mankind and their growing technologies. Though he has this uneasiness with the modern world, he is not beyond attempting anything for the sake of knowledge and betterment of his fellow human being.

1381532421_BlackBar.png.a7b5bf2159fc2bf54c42d96c37b33d13.png

Bonds: Due to his reemergence into the new world, Gomi currently has real relationships with any living person other than the polite passings he occasionally has with the citizens of Kirigakure no Sato. Outside of that, Gomi is extremely friendly towards sea life and nature, to the point he is almost always seen with his crustaceous friend, “Kringler”, the 3rd Crab Prince.

1381532421_BlackBar.png.a7b5bf2159fc2bf54c42d96c37b33d13.png

Flaws: Because of his upbringing, Gomi carries a distrust of even the most basic of modern technology, resolved to either manual labor or strenuous mental tasks before giving way to his pride.

Due to religious beliefs, Gomi tends to sometimes exhibit cannibalistic properties and traits, feeling the need to consume his prey in respect for the prowess, expending much time to dispose of the remains in religious rites in fear of committing sacrilege to his Dark religion.

Gomi tends to be a perfectionist, loving a clean area and attire while openly deposing clutter and dismay to the point of almost being rude to some, his attitude generally depending on the condition of his surroundings.

1381532421_BlackBar.png.a7b5bf2159fc2bf54c42d96c37b33d13.png

Personality: Gomi is generally a well mannered and kind individual, despite the common beliefs of those that follow the Jashinic beliefs. Having lost his family at a young age and been accepted amongst species not of his own, he tends to distrust other humans without openly showing his distaste, especially those that surround themselves with the same technologies that pollute the oceans and murders his precious sea-life. His bond with his companion, “Kringler”, is the closest thing he has to friendship, which also allows him passage.

Gomi has become very secluded and secretive about his private life due to his religious beliefs in “The Black Brotherhood”, a deviant of the generalized “Jashinism” that once ran rampant within the Ninja underworld. After many inner disputes with opposing sects as well as the outside Ninja world, many Jashinist are now forced to practice their beliefs behind closed doors after fanatics like Hidan shaped a bad reputation for them. Taught the “49 laws of Power” as a child, he gained an unearthly maturity at a young age allowing him to fluidly converse and associate with adults, as well as a calm demeanor which allows him to assess situations with a clear mind in comparison to others in his age group. Now after years of Religious rites and tributes, he has developed a perfectionist nature.

Left alone to his own devices, he was forced to train alone in majority making him a normally solitary person, though once he is teamed with others he places himself into the defense, or "Tank" role in hopes to draw fire from those he deems unfit of being harmed. Due to this pragmatic nature and unsavory beliefs, he has become a sort of enigma amongst fellow students, as they see him as more of an obstacle than a true teammate.

(NPC)“Jashin’s Voice: Ever since his reemergence into the world, Gomi has had a voice plaguing the back of his mind speaking upon the horrors of the world and pushing him to grow stronger to correct them by the name of “Jashin”. It is taught by the “Sages of the Deep” that Jashin had been a Otsutsuki betrayed by his fellow clansmen after bestowing life and power upon various worlds, without any plan to collect upon that power. Sages say that only those attuned to the injustice and evils of the planet can hear the Lord’s anguish, and that’s why many Jashinist falsely believe that their evils gains them blessing of immortality, rather than the curse to see the world’s end and have no power to stop it. Gomi is taught because of his deep desire for revenge for the mistreatment of Mother Gaia*(*The Dark Lord’s one and Only Love), as well as the circumstances of the seal that allowed him to transgress time has allowed him to hear the Lord’s “true voice”, and it's his duty to implement its will for Jashinic rebirth into the world.

“LIES, Lies, all of it lies… Made to slander my true intentions and cause…. We will revenge upon those that have hidden my TRUTH. We will abolish the Heretics that claim my name in their acts of evil and sacrilege….Grow stronger my child, for you are the blade with which I shall cut out my share of this world. For my children… For my world... For your parents, and most of all… For the Lord of Twilight, Harvester of pandemonium, the Herald of Purgatory... Jashin!!!”~Quote from the Jashin’s Voice

(NPC)“Sages of The Deep: A collective of powerful sea life that took residence within “The Deep ''. After nearly an eon beneath the depths of the planet, watching as life grew from small life microscopic forms and evolve into what is now Man, that which now controlled the lands above, these sages hold an insurmountable amount of knowledge yet refuse to take part within the outside world aside from a piece of priceless advice to an animal or shinobi from time to time. The many forms of the sages confuse those that happened to gaze upon them* (*Becoming known as Tall Tales, or Urban Myths), yet those that have been blessed enough to learn from these creatures have grown to hold immense power or met a horrendous end.

The prophecy of the Sages: “Abandon all hope ye who enter here, for LIMITLESS POWER tis all that remains. Tis we who grant it… Grasp at the fruits of knowledge, but beware… the thorn carries evils strong enough to engulf the world…”~ Quote from The Sages of the Deep

(PET)“Kringler”: Gomi’s childhood friend and brothers-in-arm crab, Kringler has stuck by Gomi’s side through thick and thin in hopes to see how far this prodigy can truly reach at the behest of the Emperor of the Deep.

“Bubbles are Life, my friend… Bubbles are life…”~Quote from Kringler.

1381532421_BlackBar.png.a7b5bf2159fc2bf54c42d96c37b33d13.png

(NPC)“Hamish Dijiun”: Father to Gomi Kaguya, Hamish was thought to have been murdered during the siege of his family’s compound, though had been granted refuge to “The Deep” by it’s very own Protector. Reunited with his son within the timeless confines of “The Deep”, Hamish resigned himself to remain beneath the Sea to advise the Emperor-King with his knowledge of the surface world until his son’s three year training became his main priority. After his son’s departure, little else is known about this character as he seems to disappear with the ocean’s endless currents. "The World is unforgiving, my son..."~Quote from Hamish Dijiun, Depth refugee

395529161_backgroundhistory.png.4c84de5d66a219d116d66b6f5ef396c1.png

Gomi Kaguya was born into the feudal era of 1912 to a insignificant sub sect of “Defender*” Kaguya clansmen associated with the Jashinic cult, which had dwindled in power due to the continuing rise in the belief of “Ninshu” and the “Will of Fire” over older paganistic gods. After a particularly horrific siege of their family’s compound, Gomi ended up being sealed by his mother using a forbidden technique now lost to modern age of Kaguya, rightful dubbed “ダークムーン墓Dākumūn haka: The Dark Moon Tomb”, which suspended the boy within a pocket dimension which allowed him to transgress time itself safely inside of a blackened sarcophagus delicately crafted from his mother’s own bone and flesh. Due to the savagery of the battle that had ensued, his “tomb” ended up lost to the ages as it sunk into oceans surrounding Mizu no Kuni to the ravenous currents below. As the years passed a voice began to speak out to Gomi, calling out to him to seek vengeance for his family as well as the world because mankind had chosen to “abandon the righteous path”, which at first brought Gomi great discomfort… but eventually he succumbed to this “Lord Jashin”.

(*”Defender Sect” Kaguya clansmen were abnormalities among their fellow Kaguya, their blood being the color of azure while their bones were as black as the night’s sky. Though genetically and physically the same, due to this rare abnormality, the “True” Kaguya clansmen forced these members to prioritize on the durability of their bones, training them to endure intense trials and tortures in hopes to use them as a form of compound defense while their other clansmen elegantly yet savagely pushed forward. Due to how rare this abnormality was, it's nearly impossible for there to be any that remain in the current era.)

After almost an millenia passed, some of the more intelligent serfs of “The Deep”, a “Sage Area” unchanged by the passages of time and still ripe with the culture of the Edo era, stumbled across the intriguant sarcophagus that held Gomi and transported him back to the safety of “The Deep” for the Elders to decide his fate. It was during this time that Kringler served as a slave to the imperial family of “Crustaceous Primus”, currently the leading family of “The Deep’s” species diverse populace and met his companion, the Third Crowned Prince “Kringler”. It didn’t take long for the reawakened Gomi and the enslaved Kringler to create a bond and agree to a “Pincer-Pact”, binding them as partners until death and beyond.

After three years of training under the crushing weight and continuous darkness beneath the ocean’s depths,Gomi found his father to be safe from the crusades of a time long ago, yet had decided to make “The Deep” his forever home. Despite having no real connection to the outside world, Gomi and his newly discovered friend and brother-in-arms, “Kringler”, decided to venture to the surface and find out why his fellow mankind chose to pollute the very world who gave them life.

Upon reaching Land, Gomi had been discovered by nin of “Kirigakure no Sato” to eventually be placed within the Village’s Foster Care system. It has been a very exhausting transition for him to say the least, but he has grown to care for those that care for the sealife, the civilians of Kirigakure as well as the various Marine organizations within the area. Despite being a normally solitary individual, he has also started to admire the legacies of the Seven swordsmen of the Mist, dedicating himself to one day join their ranks or at least match their combined prowess. Seeing as he had been too old to join the Ninja academy, showing more than enough aptitude to be an honorary graduate, he spends his genin days training with “Kringler”, paying homage to the lost traditions of his family’s Jashinic sect, or studying everything he can find upon the surface world and its war driven history.

Path of the Tamer

For some ninja battle is the sound of fire raging and of steel clashing, but for others combat is much different. Guttural snarls replace the hiss of weapons being unsheathed for they do battle with well-trained animal companions. To a Tamer animals are as good as people and they often tend to prefer the company of the animals they train over other ninja, for their animals can always be depended on.

Effect: Characters gains one (1) Training Point per level.

Studious Mastery:

- Combat Sense: Gain 3 ranks of 'Rapid Recovery' for free.

- Savage Attack: When using a Pet Basic Attack the value of x is equal to the user's level instead.

RP Guide:

- Those who follow the Path of the Tamer are ninja who bear deep connections to animals and the natural world. They are often extremely perceptive; able to use their senses to an almost animal extent. Loyalty is very important to Tamers, who form strong bonds with people and animals alike, and though they tend to favor more physical pursuits some tamers are known to specialize in caring for the health of the animals that they train and learn 'Veterinary Ninjutsu'.

Advanced Paths:

- Path Of The Mercenary, Path Of The Sensor, Path Of The Tactician.

Clan Skills

Kaikashin Buyō | 開花芯舞踊 | Flowering Marrow Dance

Description: Though time has divided the nuance in motion between the Kirigakure and Otogakure branches of the Kaguya clan, their most basic combat principles remain unified by a singular style. Kaikashin Buyō is a graceful method of combat that visibly demonstrates the core of the Kaguya philosophy. Each technique, and even the style itself, is named for a dance that serves as a violent interpretation on the world that the Kaguya inhabit. Through these aptly named dances, the Kaguya perform the art of making ribbons of their opponents utilizing little more than the strength inherent to their unique physiology. As a Kaguya glides across the battlefield, they will erupt bone spines across their body and sheer away their opponent’s flesh with each surge of motion or whirling pirouette. What makes this style truly fearsome is that it serves both as a potent offense and a considerable defense. The spines utilized to attack targets serve a twin purpose as sharp deterrents for would-be attackers.

Effect: Allows for the accumulation of “Blossom” charges. A Blossom charge is generated whenever a Kaikashin Buyō technique successfully strikes its target and whenever this character successfully Blocks an attack. A Blossom charge is lost whenever this character takes physical damage from an enemies attack and doesn't block it, or when a bone crafted weapon is destroyed. Blossom charges are utilized in the following ways:

This ability must be declared in the attacks dodge roll to be considered a valid use. Blossom charges may be spent in the Response Phase, as a free action, before any action is taken. Spending Blossom charges in this way increases this character’s chance to block by 4X where X is equal to the number of Blossom Charges spent. [A maximum of five charges may be spent in this way].

Two Blossom Charges may be spent during the setup phase to add 3 turns of Choking to a Kaikashin Buyō technique used in the main phase this turn.

When activating a Kikaishin Buyo Taijutsu, the user may spend x Blossom Charges. If they do, increase the base damage by 4X%, additionally the attack gains +1X% critical strike chance [A maximum of 5 charges may be spent this way].

Cost: -2

General Skills:

Savior

Sometimes it is not good enough to be reactive, at times you must be proactive in protecting your team. The selfless action of standing in front of an attack for a teammate is the most straightforward proactive action you can take to protect someone.

Once per team battle you may choose to take an attack in place of your ally without need for any rolls. Apply all armors against this attack regardless of if it is supposed to bypass armor or not. When you take the hit, you gain a +100 to Defense. Cannot be used against Genjutsu.

Rank: 1

Cost: 1sp

Crane Style

Crane style is simply described by its name. It is a style which may very well have been created by watching the movements of the various cranes and mariner birds within Mizu no Kuni. The style itself is fluid, slow, and prone to piercing strikes and a tide of gambling strikes contrasted by a tide of dancing like dodges. It is said that a master of the style can be described as 'eerily resembling a crane'.

Effect: A player with the Crane Style will start every battle with two Balance Charges. The amount of Balance Charges will determine the effectiveness of your Crane Style techniques in battle. Unlike most other styles though, every time an enemy makes a successful hit on your character you will lose a Balance Charge. You may only lose one Balance Charge per enemy who attacks you per turn. A player may at any time sacrifice their Main Phase to restore their Balance Charges to an amount of two.

0 Charges: When using a Crane Style technique your Accuracy is considered to be 0.8x its base value.

1 Charge: When using a Crane Style technique your Accuracy is considered to be 0.9x its base value.

2 Charges: Your Crane Style techniques receive no negatives or bonuses.

3 Charges: When using a Crane Style technique your Accuracy is considered to be 1.1x its base value.

4 Charges: When using a Crane Style technique your Accuracy is considered to be 1.2x its base value.

5 Charges: When using a Crane Style technique your Accuracy is considered to be 1.3x its base value.

In addition a player with this style does not gain a Balance Charge normally. Instead, you may ‘bet’ additional Balance Charges on any Crane Style technique. If the technique makes contact then you will gain the additional Balance Charges. However, if the technique misses you will lose the ‘bet’ amount of Charges. You may only bet with Charges that you have. If you have 0 Balance Charges you may bet 1 with no penalty for a miss. The user may perform a technique that requires the use of Balance Charges.

Requirements: Kirigakure Ninja or 5 post training session with a ninja who already knows this skill.

Effects: The character must say their catch phrase at least once every 50 spoken words or once every 800 written words, whichever comes first. This count is kept between posts. If the character fails to meet this requirement they take a -5% reduction to all of their non-tank stats, cumulative. This reduction lasts for the rest of the day in character or at least two (2) days in real life, whichever is longer. The chosen phrase must be at least one word.

Chosen Phrase:Jashin

Effects:A Defender's past experiences or loving nature will not allow others to suffer in front of them. A Defender will do anything possible to save their allies from harm, throwing themselves between their allies and enemies to do so even if they know it could kill them.

During this character's turn, if a non-clone ally is the target of an unresolved attack that did not target the user as well, this character takes the attack instead. This character may only apply 50% of their total defensive modifiers. Only triggers once per battle per ally.

Body Replacement Technique | Kawarimi no Jutsu

Type: Ninjutsu

Rank: Academy Student

Cost: x Chakra

Effect: This technique may be performed as a Free Action in the Response Phase following a failed dodge roll. When determining the cost of this technique "x" is equivalent to the cost of 1 basic attack or small weapon attack that the user failed to dodge. The damage and effects of that basic attack or small weapon attack are negated. The user may take no action in the Setup Phase or Main Phase on the turn this technique is used. This technique has a 5% chance to fail. This technique may be performed 1 time per battle.

Description: A life-saving technique for most young shinobi, the Body Replacement Jutsu has been a staple in academy learning for many years. By utilizing their ability to manipulate chakra, with quick movement, a skillful shinobi is capable of switching their position with another object to evade damage. By creating a simple optical illusion, the user of the Kawarimi no Jutsu can make it appear as though they were damaged or even killed by the opponent's attack. Some ninja become extremely adept in the usage of this technique, and have even been known to swap places with hazardous materials to trap their enemies.

When determining the cost of this technique "x" is considered to be the number of "Clones" created by the user and may never be greater than 2. "Clones" have 1 Health and 1% of the user's other statistics. "Clones" are not physical, and may not use items, techniques or attack during their turn. The user of this technique gains +20 Evasion or +20 Accuracy for every "Clone" on the battlefield. The effects of 'Clones' may be ignored by any character with heightened senses (i.e; Byakugan, Path of the Sensor, Inuzuka Smell Tracker, etc). This technique may be used in the Setup Phase 1 time per battle.

Description: A technique that most students are required to be proficient in before they can graduate from the academy, the Bunshin no Jutsu is the most basic of the myriad of clone techniques that exist in the world. By properly molding their chakra, the user is capable of creating near perfect replicas of themselves. Unlike most bunshinjutsu, the basic clone technique does not produce physical clones but creates something more akin to a projected image, which is a real image that has no form. The Clone Technique is considered an E-Ranked jutsu, and is not very powerful, but with practice and ingenuity many shinobi have come to use it in masterful ways. Most often stalling by hiding out among their clones, or setting themselves up for a strong offensive.

Transformation Technique | Henge no Jutsu

Type: Ninjutsu

Rank: Academy Student

Cost: 10 Chakra

Effect: During any situation in which a character with this technique would need to calculate their "Visibility Score", they may use this technique to reduce their "Visibility Score" by -10%. "Visibility Score" reduction caused by this technique may be ignored by any character with heightened senses (i.e; Byakugan, Path of the Sensor, Inuzuka Smell Tracker, etc).

Description: The Transformation Technique is a time-honored staple of nearly every shinobi academy the world over. Its concept and execution are both extremely basic, making it a perfect training technique for young students. By molding chakra around their body, the user of the Transformation Jutsu is able to temporarily take on the physical characteristics of another person. Though the Henge no Jutsu rarely offers a perfect disguise, clever ninja have been using it for hundreds of years to confuse their foes.

Nae no Mai | 苗のダンス | Dance of Seedlings

Type: Taijutsu [ Hijutsu; Shikotsumyaku | Hijutsu; Kaikashin Buyō ]

Rank: Genin

Cost: 30 Stamina + 10 Chakra

Damage: 50 Damage

Effect: --

Description: A simple dance, taught to the younger Kaguya when they first unlock their inherent powers. The Kaguya will swing a kick at their opponent, missing on purpose. When the foot hits, the ninja will lurch forward, thrusting an open palm at the enemy. Instead of hitting them, a small twisted spire of bone will erupt from their palm, giving them that fraction of a second of extra reach required to pierce the target.

Cost: 2 JP

Yakaisou no Mai | イポメアのダンス | Dance of the Venetian Mask

Type: Taijutsu [ Hijutsu; Shikotsumyaku | Hijutsu; Kaikashin Buyō ]

Rank: Genin

Cost: 20 Stamina + 20 Chakra

Damage: 0 Damage

Effect: Target is [Afraid (Fear Stage 2)] for Two Turns. The jutsu must be cast in battle to gain this effect. If it is used prior to battle, its cost must be paid again for the effect to occur.

RP Effect: User gains a “Bone Mask” to wear. You know what a mask does.

Description: Designed to capitalize on the fear of their clan, The Venetian Mask involves the user intentionally putting on a display. Their bones ripple under the skin, pulsing and moving, occasionally breaking free, before the ninja in question puts a hand to the face and pulls lightly. From their face, a mask of bone will sprout, until it covers the head near completely. Each Kaguya’s mask is different, often based on their personality and the desired effect on the target. Some Kaguya will wear the mask as a day to day affair, aiding with their stealthier missions. Then, when it comes time for battle, they will alter their masks into a more fearsome look, often simulating multiple attackers, or just to strike fear anew.

Cost: 2 JP

Summoning's: Crab "Kani カニ" (“The Crabs of the Deep”)- Decapod crustaceans of the infraorder Brachyura, which typically have a very short projecting "tail" (Abdomen), usually entirely hidden under the thorax. The difference in the Shinobi-Crab and the average crustacean is their ability to communicate both physically and telepathically; heightened intelligence and strategic capability; increased durability (shell durability similar to high grade metals); increased physical strength and speed; as well as their ability to wield Suiton, and Raiton (Storm) abilities without the use of hand signs. Though they are equipped naturally with an offensive and defensive set of pincers, they are known to wield shinobi weapons crafted within the forges found sage area known as "The Deep"

~Personality~

Suspected of being born of a sub-sect, of a sub-sect, of the original “Crabs of the Deep” family, similar to how many of the animals that have descended from Prehistoric blood lines to walk the Earth today that show to have a devolve state of being; Kringler grew up upon the porcelain white sand beaches of “The Deep’s Claw Kingdom” until he had been found and taken in by members of the “Crustaceous Prime” family despite his normality. Seeing as the Shinobi-sage aquatic animals and regular marine life lived side by side equally here, Kringler soon found himself being trained to communicate with the more intelligent animals, learning various “Scuttle” languages which allowed him  to build lasting friendships with various other marine life, and eventually, Gomi himself. After learning he had been gifted to Gomi upon his departure to the surface world, as both a keepsake and constant reminder of the mercy the Depthians had shown, he resented his role as a mere gift until Gomi eventually found a way to pierce his psychologically harden interior with the bonds of brotherhood, causing Kringler to take the name Kaguya willingly. Though many are unable to communicate with him, he is able to fluidly communicate with Gomi acting as his, sometimes reluctant, translator. Kringler tends to lean more towards the perverted walk of life, manipulating his status as a mere “pet” to excuse his outlandish behaviors. When upset, plumes of foam spew from his maxillae as his maxillipeds madly click out insults that Gomi usually refuses to reiterate.

Messaged you on discord, explained where there's some stuff I can't touch yet, but I'll comment here on what I can so we can get this ball rolling!

Weird question. If his belief is that the greatest sacrifice is one full of sin, why is 'Sin' one of his aliases? Who is calling him Sin? Other Jashinists of his sect? Seems dangerous ground to tread. Other ninja? Seems that might be offensive to him based off his beliefs? The crabs? Seems out of character for them as you've depicted them?

A Jashinist Empire is a bit of a stretch I fear? We know from Naruto that Jashin was all but utterly unheard of in the time of Naruto, even by the older generations of ninja. Konoha investigated the religion and didn't find any evidence of them anywhere, to the point they assume Hidan might have just made it all up. Empires aren't the kind of thing to go utterly unremembered, especially in a relatively small single continent civilisation with consistent history dating back to before 1912 NA time. Ōnoki was alive at the time Gomi was born, and he certainly never showed any awareness, nor did Madara when he was revived, someone who had a very vested interest in immortality. I don't really want to be coming in and saying you can't have your story, but there is also an existing lore you need to fit within. I don't find it unreasonable that Jashinist sects could have been active around that time, or even earlier, but they're very clearly depicted as an evil cult on the fringes of society or hidden away. Kiri is perfect for this given its countless islands, and you've got plenty of room to explain how your sect diverged from the mainland Jashinists.

Weird question...can Gomi breathe underwater? You kinda...don't address how he survived in 'the deep'. Is this 'sage area' like a deap sea cavern with air trapped in it he can breathe, or did they allow him to breathe while down there? Super not that important, but if you intend for him to be able to breathe water, probably best we work out a skill of some sort to represent that.

Kringler, quick question there, is he intended as a pet or summon? I see you took path of the tamer, which would imply pet, but pets must be mundane animals. They grow larger and are more intelligent (we actually worked out exactly how much larger they can grow at some stage) but they must be based off a real animal. Summons are animals yes, but also mystical chakra enhanced entities. While a pet is intelligent and can communicate, they cannot speak. So pets are not the same as summons, and your pet would have to be an actual crab. Probably a rather large crab, as even with the upscaling we have for pets, most crabs are pretty small and don't scale that big. Really interested what you plan for the pet here mate, give us a window into it?

For your skills, instead of listing 'village skill' and 'clan skill', can you list Crane Style and Flowering Marrow Dance instead? Easier to track for everyone, especially if you later pick up water, but get specialities and it all goes south from there.

Also, as for your catch phrase, man be real sure you want that one. Jashinists are acting around the world at the moment, and people DO NOT LIKE THEM. Walking around dropping the J-bomb frequently in conversation is the kind of thing that has you ending up a missing-nin or dead. People won't just look the other way because it suits your narrative, the village will come down on you. You could work this well if you're careful with it, but it'll be a rough road to walk on your first character. All your choice here though, this is a suggestion not a critique.

You will probably be able to notice the large elements of your character I took a wide berth around, those are the areas we are going to need @Azure to comment on before we can start approving. Good luck.

To echo Princess' point, an empire is a high stretch for Jashinism. By and large, feudal Kaguya were very much prideful and would not be quick to ally themselves with Jashin and instead went on to resist joining Kirigakure for a while. That being said, I could see a sect of the clan turning to Jashinism, I just want to set the scope of it. I'm fine with the Defender Sect as well.

It would be neat to explore more about The Deep. It could even be a location set on the Summon Plane, but I don't think all the details need to be sorted out immediately. It could be developed over time as you figure out how it enmeshes with our world but the important things are pretty much covered. A few things to think about are: how did he leave The Deep and was able to go to the surface? Can he return (I would lean to saying no, not at the moment for the story potential)? Why does he follow Jashin- was it taught to him or was it a more sincere choice?

At any rate, this checks out mechanically and I'm fine with the history.

Just to make sure that future admins and such see this, here's the explanation:

The nick name "Sin" that he carries is going to be explained IC, that he decided to bear the "Sins" of the world, going as far as giving himself the name. If others were allowed to fill the world with sin, it would be his job to hunt it down as it's "Boogeyman". Its pretty much an ironic measure that doesn't affect the character himself, it'll just make more sense why he starts referring to himself whenever he is upset and ranting about humans. Pretty much, it'll be a nickname that my Summoning family will give me. Similar to if an over powerful alien captured a human pet and began to call it "Frail Human" out of spite and humor. ~For example: " You are sinners, I am a sinner, we are all SIN." blahdy blah blah

~BLAH~

The passage to "The Deep" would be on par with Naruto's "Toad Mountain", and though he had been spirited away to this area and safely returned from it, currently he has no knowledge as a Level 0 gennin of how any of this has taken place or how to return. Until I can flesh out "The Deep", I wanted to keep this open ended to leave a sense of mystery while making it inconsequential. I did however include a link (Click on google doc) in the additional logs section that leads to a detailed backstory and biography of Gomi's life and times that I am currently working on. It's just a place for me to store my own collection of trainings as well as a nice place to fluff the character. I don't expect to gain anything from this, though I plan to hopefully port it to my character's wiki.

So as Azure pointed out as well, I'm gonna strongly suggest your change Empire to sect, religion, cult, family, something like that. I know you're saying that the word empire should be read differently in this context to how it would typically be read, but honestly we can't assume everyone who reads this is going to read it the way you intended if 2/2 reviewing staff have read it the opposite.

The other thing I'd suggest, don't start your pet off at its full growth. Start it smaller, have it grow with you. As Gomi levels up and has more training points to spend, have the pet grow larger and more powerful, and use its physical size to represent that. Picture Akamaru in the show, he was a pup before he was a full sized, and that change happened over the time from gennin to chuunin for Kiba. I'd advise you do the same.

Those are the only two bits causing issue, the former I insist on changing, the latter is personal taste. Go HAM out the door if that's what you need, but I think you'll find a better story if your character and pet grow together.
