Within burns a particular iridescence that is said to manifest his natural courage and confidence, his eyes providing exceptional communicative properties. They tend to garner glances, and hold the attention of those whom speak with him directly as they exude invisible magnetism. A wicked scar bisects his right eyebrow, coiling down his eyelid. This ugly scar runs deep, having even caused the pupil to divide. However, due to both immediate medical attention and a period of excellent recovery, he suffers no noticeable loss of vision -Hair Color and Style: Nasake's hair is the color of cinnamon, darker nearer the scalp and lighter further along the follicles. Perhaps due to his indifference, it tends to cascade about his features in a manner best described as being disheveled, having no actual symmetry or style to speak of. Messy clumps promote an unkempt array of varying lengths, some bangs longer while others are combed neatly into shorter waves ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -Typical Outfit: Head and Neck- A thin cloth necklace hangs loosely around his neck, attached to a small silver charm that is said to hold his umbilical cord, something of a keepsake from his mother, who has claimed it is a 'blessed' possession Upper Body- Nasake, out of reverence for his mother, continues to wear the jacket that his mother had knit for him, a vesture of forest green with a risen collar. Silver zippers divide the breast pockets allowing for storage of small items of importance. The sleeves are corduroy twill dyed pitch black, although he typically rolls the right sleeve to the crook of his elbow. The rear of his shirt bears the symbol of the Nankan Clan, a golden shield intercepted by a crimson feather, a sword crucifying the duo. Nasake wears a fingerless (although the ring and middle fingers are fully clothed) black glove upon his left hand to combat friction while wielding his weapon. Beneath his beloved jacket, Nasake wears a simple sleeveless shirt. Lower Body and Waist- A pair of brown cargo pants are worn with two brown leather belts haphazardly intersecting across the length of his waist. The first is worn traditionally, while the second falls at a diagonal towards his left thigh, to which he attaches his scabbard. A simple pair of forest green ninja tabi are worn on his feet, the toes and heel exposed as is common ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -Physical Condition and Characteristics: In all likelihood, an outside perspective would never consider Nasake as being particularly muscular, despite his healthy state. He is exceptionally slender for a male, his body sinewy, lanky, and suggestive of frailty. Nonetheless, he possesses natural strength, and competes with his peers without expected hindrance. He exhibits a natural resilience and athleticism that defies his slight form, and consequently catches many folk off guard. He is considered as being a rather handsome individual in spite of his scar, and commands the attention of those around him with his magnetic body language and confidant posture. His body is a tapestry of natural art due to the dysfunction of his tenketsu, painting his skin with inky, abstract patterns that stretch along the entirety of his body. These markings are most densely gathered at his chest, back, arms, and legs, though a small number plagues his left cheek as well. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -Historic Events and Relevant Childhood- “Legend of the Yama-Arashi (山嵐; The Mountain Tempest)” The Nankan are a spiritual people, and derive meaning from symbols and coincidences. Legend speaks of a child born beneath a blanket of violent storms that cease with his conception, a divine sign respective of this child's destiny. It is believed that this child will reunite the splintered Nankan Clan from the Recessive and Dominant branches into a single community. This “Yama-Arashi”, the mountainous storm, will extend messages of peace and unification to the countries of the world, seeking to halt the incessant violence and war that spurns from dissatisfaction and avarice. Serving as a beacon of hope, the child will travel from country to country, offering his services in hopes to align Kumogakure no Sato into a favorable position, allowing alliances to form from a series of good deeds and trustworthy reliability. This boy, cursed with the recessive blood of the Nankan, will face incalculable obstacles along his journey as he is vexed with the inconsistencies of the tenketsu, gathering power by his own indomitable will, and unearth the immaculate power that is said to lie within. The Nankan believe that the Yama-Arashi will rule his country not from the tower of the Raikage, but from the hearts of the citizens. Drowning his compatriots with his unwavering courage, people will follow in his footsteps towards a world of peace, and forever inscribe the great Rai no Kuni into the hearts and minds of others. -Conception and Early Childhood- Nasake's birth correlated strongly with the Nankan legend of the Yama-Arashi, causing a great stir within the community as people scrambled to interpret the curious event. Dowsing meaning from shamanism and subtle rituals, the Nankan confirmed that these paranormal, coincidental, and murky predictions aligned accurately with their desire to witness the child of destiny. These superstitious motivations, although founded in erroneous self-hypnotic desire, nonetheless brought hope and joy to the citizens of the Nankan, arguably warranting the undue celebration. From his earliest moments, Nasake exhibited an unnatural intelligence, curiosity, and indulgence in life, immediately deemed to be a prodigy of his time. Whenever tasked with an objective, the young boy would overcome his obstacles with relative ease, hindered only by his recessive curse. To this end, Chakra manipulation proved an understandable yet burdensome feat. Unfortunately, in spite of walking a path regarded as that of the Yama-Arashi, the child was a born a bastard to a single mother, a most unspeakable sin within the clan. Although Nasake reveled in the love and support of the recessive branch, the dominant Nankan abhorred the child, labeling him with filthy and radical titles to mirror his bastardization. Due to the strict laws and their abidance of the clan, Nasake and his mother Azumi were persecuted against greatly by their Dominant brethren. Because the Recessive people believed that they were the “True” Nankan, the fact that he was born with the markings of the Teizoukaifuu brought them enormous satisfaction, consequently further garning hatred from others. The Dominant branch claimed that he would be the undoing of the Nankan Clan, and threatened to excommunicate him from the lands in hopes to maintain their sanctity. Nasake's relations with the general population of Kumogakure no Sato varied enormously pending the public's view of a Recessive Nankan. Because many Dominant Nankan enjoy seats of power upon the council, their perspectives carry considerable weight, swaying the public eye wherever most desired. Some people found the boy to be a curious and bizarre creature, while others detested his very presence. Despite his amiable personality and charismatic mannerisms, he faced ostracizing by many of his peers, accepted and embraced more often by the estranged and 'odd'. However, as the worst scenarios still bear fruits of experience, the boy learned an appreciation for all people from all walks of life, be they typical or abnormal. His polite respect for others captured the approval of many elder folk, but the more youthful remained distant and harbored negative considerations for a child of such eccentricity. In short, the boy's early years proved a frustrating endeavor, challenging his methods of tolerance and understanding to the near-point of fracture. However, he had endured, and from it, grown into a respectable person. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Over the years, Nasake proved a most studious individual, pouncing upon whatever knowledge he could dig up from books or word of mouth with unrivaled mirth. Always hidden behind the spine of a text, his peers questioned his lax nature, believing that true strength was born from experience and physical enterprise. However, the child dismissed such small-minded perspectives, and indulged his thirst whenever opportunity provided. Well-versed in the realms of combat, architecture, history, negotiations, psychology, biology, and other subjects, the boy expressed unfathomable talent for regurgitating whatever information he had gathered in his studies. Whenever others inquired, Nasake proudly stated that he would serve his country with the knowledge he gathered, and would rebuild the very world. Many resented this desire as being arrogant, but the child was stalwart in his dream. Unfortunately, due to the persecution of the Dominant Nankan, Nasake had abandoned his home on Clan property at a young age, hoping to relieve his mother of torment. Occasionally, the child had attempted negotiations with Daiki, the head of the Dominant Nankan branch, but had always been refused audience. In fact, Daiki had a tendency for sending the boy on meaningless 'errands' to keep him preoccupied, and his mouth shut. Reluctant to obey the man who single-handedly spearheaded the prejudice of his mother, he nonetheless understood the implications of his 'rebellion', and continued to serve the malcontent wordlessly. However, Daiki was a man of incorrigible dissatisfaction, and ultimately ordered the boy to leave the Nankan Clan out of spite, as the child continued to gather the support of his 'family'. Believing that banishment would serve the clan, Daiki proudly stripped Nasake of the Nankan name, and ordered him to never return. Clearly distressed, Nasake was left little choice in the matter with his mother serving as a bargaining chip for the Dominant. His identity stripped from him, he was forced to wander aimlessly (perhaps in hopes of his ultimate fatality). He would walk the earth as an explorer and a scholar, seeking to attain greater knowledge with his every step in order to overcome the oppression of the Dominant branch. Due to his family's renouncement, he no longer claims the Nankan name as his own, and explains the markings of the Teizoukaifuu as being religious printings. Due to the rarity of a Recessive Nankan, most people cannot recognize his lineage, and write him off as an eccentric. Whether or not Nankan Nasake is the prodigal "Yama-Arashi" remains debatable. However, it is clear that a number of characteristics from the legend correspond with the child and his life. Only time will unfold the truth regarding the identity of the Storm King. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -Significant Recent Affairs- “Nankan Clan's Deterioration” By word of mouth, Nasake has become aware that his mother had prompted Daiki to banish him in order to prevent the otherwise plotted execution. Having persuaded the council to observe him for the time being, she waged her seat upon the council as an attempt to secure the deal, a most acceptable prospect for the Dominant branch. The Nankan's tenuous internal relationship continues to decay through methods of corruption and deception, and Nasake worriedly tracks whatever events he is able by trusted contacts within Kumogakure no Sato. He grows increasingly concerned with the safety of his mother, who has continually proven to be frustratingly patriotic and steadfast in her beliefs, which has forced the Dominant branch to consider silencing her. Discomfited by his inability to act in her defense, the boy plans to return one day to forever end the civil war. “Tutelage” While visiting Kirigakure no Sato, Nasake happened upon one Umikoi Ren, who helped the child overcome some of his hindrances while also providing insight into his latent potential. Now confidently crafting the elements into meaningful purpose, he enjoys a satisfaction that has eluded him since birth. No longer haunted by the curse of his blood, he continues to improve himself through training, and has considered living a life as a true shinobi, a concept otherwise foreign to him. He believes that as a shinobi he can bring his dream to reality. Although he has not abandoned his scholarly ways, he has developed a mentality consistent of a shinobi, and has begun studying combat scenarios in hopes to evolve from citizen to fledgling warrior. Whether it is due to his passion, his courage, or his love and respect of others, it is an effortless venture for him to impose his beliefs or thoughts upon a group, and many people flock to him as a result. He has been aptly named, considering the fierce loyalty he inscribes upon those that he truly cares for, and has a tendency to throw himself into harms' way for the sake of others. Unfortunately, he is fairly obstinate and becomes set in his ways, requiring quite a jarring to remove him from fixations. His indomitable system of beliefs and morals challenges the freewheeling nature of the shinobi life, making it a questionable fit for the young man. He is a righteous person, and applies many 'rules and guidelines' to his life in hopes to inspire others to walk a path similar to his own, desiring to change the life this world so casually leads. His capacity for kindness and compassion is seemingly limitless, being the sort who would throw themselves into a lethal situation for the sake of a stranger, but admittedly would never change. As per discussion with Warr, I was informed that due to various changes since his conception it would be possible to redesign him a little bit to catch up to current times.
