When a character uses a ‘Boil’ technique, any Taijutsu technique, basic attack, or weapon attack used by that character in their next turn has its total damage increased by 7% of its total.Description: Boil release is a rare variant of the steam release chakra nature, and while similar, the two natures have very different applications. PandaMattMatt Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 (edited) Not to fight it, but why 7%? Did you have a math in your head or just felt like it was a good starting place? Edited May 16, 2015 by PandaMattMatt
Cellar Door Posted May 16, 2015 Author Posted May 16, 2015 (edited) It's 2 more than 5% which is what SE Fire gets. I figured that was about right, because it's tier stronger than fire. The differences are, that the damage from Subtle Elements Fire is unconditional, and the benefits of Boil are unconditional. Meaning, if you use a boil technique, regardless of whether it works or not, you get the effects, but you're not guaranteed to get a hit with that next attack. Fire works the opposite way. You're not guaranteed to hit, but you're guaranteed the extra damage if you do hit. Edited May 16, 2015 by Cellar Door
PandaMattMatt Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 I had no issue with the effect at all, I just had to tilt my head at 7% because I'm odd like that From my phone so no fancy formatting: Approved
Hardcore Skittlez Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Laying out the numbers: A 100 Total Damage Technique would gain 7 extra damage. A 300 Total Damage Technique would gain 21 extra damage A 500 Total Damage Technique would gain 36 extra damage. A 700 Total Damage Technique would gain 49 extra damage. I'm alright with those numbers, considering this is an element basic effect. Approved
