  1. I love you too, you pint-sized tank of a man *hugs and returns the shadows*
  2. I turn 28 next week, not much of a milstonee but a good opportunity to reflect on where I've come over the last year and where I want to be (my Facebook friends among you have some understanding). Between celebration, reflection and the issues amounting here lately, it's a good time for me intake a hiatus before I start hating this place and the people here. I've left all my discord groups (expect one) for the moment but if you need to reach me discord, Skype and Facebook (ask pwnize for this) are your best bets.
  3. Just a thought but could we apply this to money as well and increase the pay out?

    Back--ish?

Between a wild weekend and a tiring week, I've come down with a nasty infection. Gonna take it easy for a bit and devote the twenty I got to work and offline commitments.if you need me you know how to find me
  5. The memories have faded, it's hard to piece together a conversation we ever had, but I'll always smile when I think of my meatball scarfing friend.
  6. 8n any case, You're looking at a spirit of the law argument. Although the literal wording wouldn't necessarily encompass this skill, you'd apply the rules anyway to maintain balanced and an even playing field

Are you nuts? Do you remember how stupidly complex my ideas are? I'd still be arguing with you about something

Intro To Rei • The Basics What would you like to be called?: Rei, it's easier to say. Age: 27 Location: Toronto yeah School?: Oddly no. Been out of school for a few years now. Occupation?: Technical writer for a medical company. In short, I play with expensive (life saving) toys all day, smash em, then write books about how not to kill people playing with my toys. New to NA?: You could make a fair case that I was a founding member of NA. How did you find NA?: In 2003-2004, I'd discovered Naruto in the monthly SJ magazine and was immediately hooked. Whoever, with SJ drip feeding 1-2 chapters a month, I began searching for anything to fulfill my Naruto fixation and discovered the original NA or groups MSN. • Game Experience! Have you role played before?: I hadn't role-played much before discovering NA (mainly Dragonball based sites) and once I'd retired in 2006-07, role-playing had become even more infrequently. You could say I've been a role-player, in some capacity, for over a decade but on a less than consistent basis. Where at (website? local game store? mom's basement)?: internet exclusively. What kind of role play was it?: Other Japanime and Superheroes. Do you play other games?: Mainly PC Games If so, what kind of games? (Console, computer, board games, etc): See above • Naruto! How long have you been interested in Naruto?: I haven’t been interested in Naruto for years. my interested died with that horrific Pein issue where we see random flashbacks indicating that the villagers loved and accepted Naruto but just never bought it up…Fuckin wot? Do you watch or read?: N/A What is your favorite story arc?: Wave arc Who is your favorite character?: It's been so long I can't remember the characters I like. I suppose Naruto himself is a safe answer. Watch any other anime? If so which ones?: I haven't watched anime even Semi-regularly since 2011. But that Attack on Titan program is pretty tight. When's that coming back? • Favorite Gauntlet Favorite Anime: Baccano Favorite Manga: Japanese Superman or as you call it "Dragonball" Favorite Game: Civ 5 Favorite Book: Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb Favorite Song: American Pie as hear don the Starry, Starry Nights Album Favorite Color: Rose Red Favorite Number: 24601 Favorite Phrase: "He was a genius. He fired my ass." Favorite Element: I don't entirely understand the question Favorite Collectible: limited edition May Parker (Spider-Girl) as Venom Bust from the Earth-X series. Anything else you would like to share?: Share a picture of yourself if you want here!

    Hello

I recommend joining the discord chat. You'll meet our most active members who are always happy to help.
  11. back to occupying my dark corner of the NA world. For those who remember, I'm up for putting the think tank back together. Message me if you're still interested. And I guess I missed you guys. Not Paul though.
  12. Officially handing it back to Warr.
  13. I'm up for saturdays, but I do work weekend nights, so it'd need to wrap up by 9 PM EST.
  14. Original's the term that stood out to me, since you can easily argue the -original- price is the price before a bonus. But if we're on the same page, it's fine.
  15. Silvertongue: Should restrict taking this with merchant otherwise someone could buy items for 50% off and sell them back for 75%. This does look promising. Can I join?
  16. Even Rei will commission art.
  17. Happy belated birth (sorry, no power last night)
  18. You need to include all this in the effect (even the example). As it's written, neither Matt nor I could make sense of that.

    Hello

Hey Jordan how are the kids?
  20. Beast augmentation: 30 chakra/turn and include the effect for Enlarged (founded on the Status and effects page) Man augmentation: At Genin you’re looking at a 1:1 stat increase ration. In short, you’re paying 50 chakra (40 per turn) to increase stats by 50 points or 25 in two stats. Moreover, only medical jutstu can recover (you can’t increase the base stat) health, chakra or stamina. Animal golem: Unfortunately, damage caps are fixed. The maximum damage a chunin Ninjustu technique can inflict is 120 before applying modifiers and bonuses. Moreover, using an offensive jutsu will take up your main phase, so no need t include that clause.
  21. Slight problem. if everything provides the same experience, missions become the clear favorite as the provide experience and money. It's more likely that we'll see less training and slice of life as people rush to get the most bang for their buck. We also can't ignore the risk factor that high ranking missions and GM arcs present. In these circumstances, often submit control to authority, leaving their characters vulnerable to death, impotent or crippling injury. If there's a possibility that my character could die from chasing pirates or toppling local warlord, there rewards should be greater than if she kicked back in a malt shop with da homies. Otherwise, why bother taking risks at all? Same prize money running a bakery.
  22. As the skills curator, I'd rather keep it as is. I'm o f the mind that NA needs fewer rules, systems and mechanics. If there's more demand for the skill, I'll push to adding it on the main site. If the staff believe its a good idea to make it universal, then we can discuss adding it. Sounds fine on paper. However, thread drag (busy professionals, parents and students) especially as the party size increases. It's actually much easier to complete a few missions than an arc. Rating systems are nightmare and nigh impossible to create something everyone can agree on. Even then you're just going to see hair spitting over and hair splitting over a 0.5 difference. Although word account factors quantity over quality, GMs are encouraged to offer rewards (i.e. EXP bonuses or items) for good role-playing and enjoyable experiences. It's a more reasonable system than some arbitrary ranks and much easier to manage.
  23. I'll talk you word for that. I was once told it was considered offsite and that's why it was so laxed. But you're here more than I am, so I'll trust you judgement.
  24. Mature content PG-13 is a suggestive guideline. NA is a safe space and we encourage everyone to feel comfortable engaging with and reading every role-playing thread. You’re free to include mature content as long as you’ve got everyone’s consent, contacted staff and you’ve made clear and active warnings that your thread contains mature content. While I believe we’re all mature enough to handle any subject material, some subject such as rape, ultra violence and racism carry trigger warnings. It’s good business to let people know what they’re walking into so they can make a sound decision on whether it’s for them. Skype is a “grey area.” We consider it “offsite,” and let NA’s policies slide, but there are limits. . Racism, sexism, homopbia and rape jokes are not tolerated. If your banter makes anyone feel uncomfortable, you’ll be asked to stop or kicked out. Racism is another grey area and really doesn’t exist here. Speaking as a black-Latino, I can tell you racism is social/cultural construct. The circumstances that gave rise to racism in the modern world (Read: Western civilization) simply didn’t occur here. Rather, nationalism and tribalism (Clans/bloodlines) supersede race as identity markers. If you called a dark-skinned ninja the N-word, the insult would go over his head. But calling him a village slurr, might wind him up. That said, the N-word is banned from the forum (try inputting it) as there’s really no reason where using it is appreciate. Eh. I’ll be frank. No one was interested in exploring “real” totalitarianism then and no one is now. I’m sure you can learn a lot by studying it, but real totalitarianism isn’t a part of the stories that our staff/GMs want to tell. It's good to be bad That just sounds like canon Oto. I imagine NA’s Oto has some of these traditions and given its limited manpower, it wouldn’t be difficult for a Missing-Nin to offer their services to the Kage or his future successor Raz. We’ve discussed this in chat. The private contractor skill lets you create unofficial missions. It’s an easy way to make money and experience writing side stories, while providing a feasible, inexpensive e solution for someone who wants to play “off the grid.” There are workarounds in place for unconventional character designs. They require more effort on the player’s part, but we rarely need a complete overhaul or sweeping changes to accommodate people who want something different.
